Part Two: Prepare Your Grill for Cook-Out Weather

We started telling you how to prepare your grill for late spring and summertime when you’ll want to start having cook outs with your friends and family. Now that you’ve already started the process, here is the rest of what you should do to make sure it is in working order:

Empty your grease pan if there is anything in it still from last season.
Some grills keep rocks in the bottom to help distribute heat. Replace these stones so that they don’t flare up from having had juices and oil spilled on them last season.
If your ignition switch takes a few clicks to start, which could mean that it is gathering gas and it may explode. Replace the switch if you have any trouble with it.
Check the propane tank. If it isn’t full, go ahead and fill it.
Make sure you give the grill cover a thorough cleaning.

Part One: Prepare Your Grill for Cook-Out Weather

It is difficult, when you’re excited about winter being over, not to immediately start looking forward to summer! Maybe it’s the sudden realization that bikini season is going to be here again soon, or maybe it is excitement that we’ll be able to be on lakes and grilling out again. If you took the time to winterize your grill, now is the time to take it out and get it ready for summer. Here are the steps you should take to get it working well again:

Check for rust, cracks, or any other damage. Come out to Factory Direct Appliance if you find that something has damaged your current grill.
Clean the grill. Even if you cleaned it before putting it, it still needs a good once over.
A rusted burner is very dangerous, so it will need to be checked and possibly replaced.
Check and wash out your venturi tubes in case any bugs have decided to make them into their home.
