As any other website or web services (Yahoo, Gmail...), it's possible to get credentials using conventional techniques :

Facebook Phishing : use of Fake Login Pages, also known as spoofed pages. These fake login pages resemble the original login pages of sites like Yahoo, Gmail, etc. The victim is fooled to believe the fake facebook page to be the real one and enter his/her password. But once the user attempts to login through these pages, his/her facebook login details are stolen away.

Keylogging : locally or remotely install a keylogger application on the victim's computer. It records the keystrokes into a log file and then you can use these logs to get required Facebook, GMail, etc password.

Primary email address hack : simply ask Facebook to send password reset email to the victim's primary email address - of course if this email account is already compromised : reset page.

Social engineering : method of retrieving password or answer of security question simply be quering with the victim. You have to be careful while using this as victim must not be aware of your intention. Just ask him cautiously using your logic.

Cookie Stealing / Session Hijacking : Google it.

The backdoor he created enabled him to view sensitive e-mails and capture employee usernames and passwords.James also cracked into NASA computers, stealing software worth approximately $1.7 million. According to the Department of Justice, “The software supported the International Space Station’s physical environment, including control of the temperature and humidity within the living space.” NASA was forced to shut down its computer systems, ultimately racking up a $41,000 cost.

Kevin David Mitnick is an American computer security consultant, author, convicted criminal, and hacker. In the late 20th century, he was convicted of various computer and communications-related crimes

The Department of Justice describes him as “the most wanted computer criminal in United States history.” His exploits were detailed in two movies: Freedom Downtime and Takedown. He started out exploiting the Los Angeles bus punch card system to get free rides. Then, like Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, dabbled in phone phreaking. Today I'm going to show you how to create an encrypted hidden container volume using Truecrypt.

What is a hidden volume?

Lets say that you have some very sensitive files that is encrypted on your computer and someone (roommate, government, someone with a gun) wants to look at those files. However, you do not want to release those files but instead show them a different set of files that are similar (or fake). You then can release a different password to them that will only show them the other non-sensitive files keeping the real files safe from exposure.

So how does this work?

We are basically creating a virtual hard drive that has two parts, a outer volume and hidden volume. Each volume will have a different password, and you only access that volume with the matching password.

In short you have ONE volume with two partition.You have two password for same volume to access different partition.

Since it is a software dependent method so download is first from http://www.truecrypt.org/

You are almost done because you are yourself brilliant Once you got the program

Below is a short example on it

AIM : CREATE A VOLUME OF 2GB(say) AND MAKE AN INTERNAL HIDDEN VOLUME OF 1GB

Step 1 : Install truecrypt. Open it

Step 2 : click on Create Volume, this will start the wizard.

Step 3 : Here you have to select what kind of volume you want to create. You can use this program to encrypt an entire hard drive or just a small container volume. we are going to select "Create an encrypted file container" then click next.

Step 4 : For this purpose select "Hidden TrueCrypt volume", then click next.

Step 5 : Creation mode we will be creating a new volume so click on "Normal Mode", then click next. Since we have't already created an encrypted volume

Step 6 : For this step we are going to name and save the file. You can save the container file anywhere on the hard drive. Once finished click next.

Now we are going to create the outer volume.

Step 7 : For this step you can choose any encryption algorithm that best suits you, for this demo I'll choose Serpent-AES, then click next.

Step 8 : Now for this step, depending on how much hard drive space that you have or the size of the files that you want to have encrypted, you can make the volume as big or small as you want. Keep in mind that you would want to use an 50% approach when creating the volumes. For example, if you create an volume that is 2 GB use 1 GB or the outer volume and 1 GB for the hidden volume. For this demo I'll create a volume with 2GB of space. Once finished, click next.

Step 9 : Now create a password that will be used to access the outer volume. You can choose a weak password since this is not the hidden volume. Here i Choose [12345]

Step 10 :Next we are going to format the volume using a NTFS file-system, then click on format.

Volume will be created and mounted Click next

Creating hidden volume

Options will be similar as in outer volume creation

YOU must crate a strong password for this volume

Once you finish creating the hidden volume exit out the wizard to go back the volume manager. Next, click on the Select File... button then open the container file at the location where you saved it. Then click on the Mount button

A pop will show up asking for the password, but we are going to click on Mount Options... first

In the mount options menu check the box "Protect hidden volume against damage caused by writing to outer volume." Then type in your password for the hidden volume. This option will prevent any information from begin overwritten on the hidden volume by anyone (system or user) writing files on the outer volume.

Then click ok.

Then type in your password for the outer volume and click ok. You now opened the outer volume. You can store some files non-sensitive here. Once finished go back to the volume manager and dismount the volume.

Then select the container file again and mount the drive. When the pop-up prompts you for a password, enter the password that you created for the hidden volume. Now you have access the the hidden volume.

An Alternative To Bittorrent

Bittorrent is a great technology for downloading large files, especially video files. It’s so good, in fact, that many ISPs estimate that between 50% and 90% of all their traffic is data being shared by Bittorrent. But Bittorrent isn’t perfect. In fact, there are two distinct disadvantages to using Bittorrent to get your video files.

The first has to do with Bittorrent technology itself. When a user wants to share a file, he uses his Bittorrent client to create a .TORRENT file based on what he wants to share. He then uploads that torrent file to a tracker, a server on the Internet that keeps track of the IP addresses of people sharing the file.

Although this is what makes Bittorrent so fast, it also creates two problems: a) you can accidentally connect to a computer owned by the Media Police, and get busted for sharing illicit files; and b) according to Bittorrent etiquette, you’re supposed to upload as much as you download. This means that a 350MB download of a TV show actually costs you 700MB in bandwidth. As a one-off, that’s not that big of a deal. But if you’re downloading 10 shows a week, it really adds up: 7GB worth of bandwidth to download 3.5GB worth of shows!

The second problem with Bittorrent has to do with most people’s Internet connections. Most broadband connections in the United States are
asynchronous, which means that you download and upload at different speeds. This usually means that you can download things quickly, but upload them at a much slower speed.

So… what can you do to download TV shows but not use Bittorrent? Try using a “release site” where the users post links to online file trading services like RapidShare or Megaupload!

One of sites is Releaselog (although there are others like Scene Source and Scene Releases). For most (but not all) shows and movies listed there, you can click the “Comments” link and get a bunch of links to the file on RapidShare, Megauploads, UploadJockey, Netload, Megashares, and more.

Since some of these services limit the size of shared files (Rapidshare limits free accounts to 100MB, for example), you might see multiple links for each show\movie. I prefer Megauploads links myself, as they allow files up to 400MB for free users; this covers most US TV shows, allowing for “single-link” downloads. Although it’s not required, you might also want to use a download manager instead of your browser’s built-in downloader. Using Firefox alone, I often get download speeds as low as 15kbps from Megaupload; using DownThemAll, I consistently get speeds in the 500kbps range.

You won’t find every show on these sites, and not every show will be popular enough for someone to post Rapidshare or Megaupload links in the comments section. But you’d be surprised at how often show links get posted there. Not only is it almost as fast as Bittorrent (even faster if you’ve been using public Bittorrent sites), it saves bandwidth and limits your exposure to the Media Police.

Retrieve the IP address of the host computer. To get the IP address of the host computer, go to the command prompt and type “ipconfig/all“.

"Like" buttons are everywhere on Facebook, and they're everywhere on the web. But what if you want to update your status or share something that your friends can "dislike?" We know, your friends can choose to "comment" on your post, but where's the fun in that?

The clever Status Magic Facebook app can add a dislike button to any status updates posted via the app. And if you wanted to really mix it up you can actually customize the second emotion to anything, such as "love," "hate," "disagree" or even "LOLs."

2. HOW TO: Hide Status Updates From Certain People

Using Facebook's general privacy settings (find these by hitting "account" on the top right of a Facebook page) you can select whether everyone, just friends or friends of friends can see your status updates. However, there is a way to narrow those options down even further.

You can select specific friend lists to see your status (relevant for work, special interest groups, etc.) or even individual people by name, which is useful for anyone organizing a surprise party.

To take advantage of these options, click the padlock icon just below your "what's on your mind" box on your wall and a drop down menu should appear. Selecting "customize" will bring up more options such as "make this visible to" and "hide from" with the option to make your selection a default.

3. HOW TO: Pre-Schedule Status Updates

While SocialOomph, Sendible and HootSuite offer the same kind of service, the simplest way to schedule Facebook status updates is by using the easy, free Later Bro service.

Just sign in with Facebook Connect, select your time zone, type in what it is you'd like to say, set the calendar and clock to when you'd like to say it, and presto!

4. HOW TO: Tag People in Your Status Updates

This was quite a big deal when it was announced this past September, but from the amount of searches on the topic "how can I make someone's name go blue in a Facebook status?" it seems it's not universally known.

To mention someone in a status update just type "@" (a la Twitter) in the status bar and start typing their name as it appears on Facebook. An auto-generated list will then come up with people in your social circle whose name starts with the letters you've typed. The feature also works with pages, brands, events and companies.

Hit the name you want, complete the update, click share and the name will become a hyperlink (you won't see the @ symbol) and will appear in blue text.

5. HOW TO: Add Symbols to Your Facebook Status

Although there are plenty of emoticons that work with Facebook Chat, typing ":)" into Facebook's status bar will not magically transform into a smiley yellow face. In fact, the only symbol you can create in a Facebook status update through the shortcut keys is a ♥, by typing "<3."

While this won't bother many Facebook users, others more used to punctuating their missives can copy and paste web-happy, universal symbols into the box, as you can see in the screengrab above.

PC users can also access some symbols by hitting "alt" + various number combinations (on a numerical keypad). So, while smileys are yet to hit Facebook statuses, you can annoy or amuse your buddies with symbols right now.

Have you ever wondered how many times you have updated your status on Facebook? The Facebook app Status Statistics, can tell you this and more.

11.11.11 Is Just Another Day! Period

The 11.11.11 date is upon us and we are on the verge of a great illumination or “shift in consciousness”. Or Not! The date is an interesting observation, but that’s about it!

Seen this before, right? No?

Numerologists, psychics, metaphysicists (I don’t even know if that is really a proper profession or not), occultists and other people with no lives to call their own are going head-over-heels proclaiming today as the day of the enlightenment. Apparently, while we are simply sitting at home, or getting yelled at by our bosses at office (who yells at these bosses?), there is going to be a “harmonic convergence” and a (for the second time!) paradigm “shift in consciousness”. Why? Because an inevitable date occurred and the digits looked interesting given a particular, arbitrarily chosen, calendar that we happen to follow.

Okay, so back to charlatan bashing. (And I didn’t even know that such a position ever existed! I wonder if they are hiring.) She’s known online as ‘Solara’ and she will be organizing trance sessions throughout the day and at the time 11:11 GMT today, ‘believers’ will “join together and sit as silent watchers who oversee worlds within worlds”. That should mean something really deep, but I’m not quite sure what that is! There’s more; there’s always something more! She even claims that at the point 11.11.11 11:11 GMT a ‘portal’ will open up and take believers from this world to one which has new ‘oneness’. Sure!

The Number 11 : What was that again?

Many conspiracy theorists (don’t you just love them!) cite the historical importance of the number ‘11’. Starting from the entire gobbledegook about the 9/11 attacks, the number 11 is said to have special significance. You’re welcome to surf the internet (or wait long enough for a large number of friends to share something related to this on your Facebook wall) and look for the significance yourselves.

Just another ordinary day – oh, with a movie

Here’s what we think: There will be no portals opened, no consciousness shift, no apocalypse and definitely no dinosaurs popping into spontaneous existence. There will, however, be a movie released by the name 11.11.11 and you’re welcome to watch that. No, neither the author nor the blog that he writes for aims to advertise for the movie or promote its ‘watchability’, but given the other things on the menu regarding today, a (possibly) bad movie might be the best option to choose.

It is heartening to see that no one yet claims that the world is going to end. I love these claims; how easy it is to prove them wrong after the event – just exist.

Though the face recognition feature introduced by Facebook does sound cool and useful it can get very annoying for many when they get tagged a lot.To prevent Facebook automatically tagging you in photos all you have to do is edit a few settings in your Facebook Account. It doesn’t require any special plugin for your browser or anything. So without going on about the new feature let’s begin the tutorial.

Just follow these simple steps to prevent Facebook from tagging you Automatically:

Click on Account drop down menu and then select Privacy Settings.
Now scroll down and click on Customize Settings. Scroll to the Things Others Sharesection and click Edit Settings near Suggest photos of me to friends. Now a dialogue box will appear as in the picture above. Just click on the drop down arrow near Enabled and change it to disabled.
That’s it. Now photos of you won’t be automatically tagged.
