There are too many things on this list that I am longing for & yet are unfortunately sold out in my size. I keep obsessively checking back, every time I have a spare moment hoping that someone might have returned one, or that they might come back in stock. Now that I can’t have them, it’s only making me want them all the more…

The strappy Topshop dress is the main one, it’s so beautifully minimal, but with a sort of elegant, sporty edge. I love the asymmetric detailing & those skinny straps, plus it looks much more expensive than the tiny £42 price tag. I’m really hoping that as it’s a new piece they’ll be restocked. I’m not holding out much hope that someone will return a pair of the ombre Theyskens Theory wedges in a 40 though. This is the problem with The Outnet, I hesitated for just a moment about purchasing them & now I’m kicking myself as someone beat me to them. I’m not sure why my usual justification of ‘but they’re not black!’ didn’t persuade me that little bit sooner.

The studded boots & cross body bag from Kurt Geiger are another story though. I’m usually pretty lucky with their sale, in that at final reductions there is usually still a lot of my sizes left. They’re currently at 30% & 50% off, but do I wait a little longer, knowing they will get further discounted or buy them now to save possible disappointment? Getting something for a huge steal is without a doubt one of the best feelings, but I don’t want to end up kicking myself again if they do sell out.

Bracher Emden ‘Classic’ Structured Tote

It’s been a while since I last did a ‘new in’ post, but I am so smitten with this bag I just had to give it a feature on it’s own, before you see it appearing in many, many outfit posts! Since it arrived it has had pride of place in my wardrobe, I’ve stroked it more times than I care to admit, pranced around with it in front of my mirror, showed it off to anyone who would listen and I’ve pretty much abandoned my poor, loyal Balenciaga for it too. Usually this level of excitement is reserved solely for new shoes!

You all know of my love for Bracher Emden, they are the brand that turned me from a one bag kinda girl into one that would gladly splurge her savings to add another of their incredible bags to my (growing) collection. It’s rare that you come across a brand that feels as though it was designed specifically for you, where every piece induces such lust & desire to own it, even the ones you wouldn’t usually consider – Yes, I now crave a lime green bag! Their unique, structural designs, distinctive brand signatures and that subtle sci-fi edge that makes my inner nerd squeal are just a few of the reasons I love them.

The classic collection is the perfect baby sister to the mainline, retaining the same impeccable quality, craftsmanship & beautiful, unique designs, but at a lower price point & with a cleaner, more pared back look. Made from a mixture of textured Italian lamb leather & smooth cowhide, it’s no surprise I’ve fallen so hard in love – black on black texture mixing with simple, geometric lines, the whole 7 piece collection is total perfection. The prices are ridiculously reasonable for this kind of quality too, starting at £70 & going upto £250 for this structured tote.

If you’d have told me a few years ago that I’d be wearing comfortable shoes out of the house as much as (if not more than) my heels, I’d have laughed in your face. There was a time when I never left the house in less than a 4 inch heel, and flats were reserved solely for exercise, not that I did much of that.

Over the last year though I’ve been finding myself reaching more & more for the comfortable pairs, the ones I can run around all day in, the Rick Owens wedges, the battered Topshop boots, the various pairs of Finsk’s & my sneakers. I guess I must be getting old, but suddenly the thought of getting achy feet after a few hours in some of my higher pairs just doesn’t appeal anymore. The comfortable ones might not be quite as showstopping as the more painful pairs, but that’s not to say they’re boring either. I’ve been wearing these sneakers from StylistPick to death lately & they always have people asking where I got them.

Although it looks kinda summery in these photos, don’t let that fool you, it’s still not warm enough to abandon the tights or a few extra layers just yet! Yes, I know it’s supposed to be June! The sun is finally out though, which means I can at last get some wear from my new sunglasses after a rather dull & miserable spring. I never usually stray too far from my favourite cateye shape, but these wayfarer sunglasses from Le Specs have quickly become a new favourite, the shape is much more flattering on my square face than I expected & I just love the textured front that makes the colour shift between black & silvery grey depending on the light & angle.

“YEAAAAAHH biscuits!”

I think it’s fair to say you all know I’m a bit of a crazy dog lady by now, right? So when we were invited by PetsPyjamas to their puppy party, there was no way I was going to miss it & I couldn’t resist sharing all of these cute photos with you guys either!

Nico was of course invited too, but unfortunately he couldn’t come along, he’s a bit of a scardy cat & couldn’t face getting on the train! Obviously he was pretty annoyed we went without him & left him to sulk at home (see sulking face above!), but he soon cheered up once we got back with a little goodie bag filled with treats for him!

We had such a lovely time meeting everyone & playing with all of the adorable pups. A room full of dogs having a party is my idea of heaven & it made such nice change from the usual blogger events we go to. The dogs really seemed to be having the time of their lives, though I’m not surprised with heaps of toys scattered around, groomers to pamper them, a mini-studio for photoshoots & lots of handbaked treats too. There was of course plenty to keep us humans happy also, trays of sandwiches & nibbles, plus yummy themed cocktails – I had quite a few ‘woof-woofs’!

I have to admit, I do like to spoil Nico & there were so many great products on display that I wanted to get him. I loved the huge, squishy b&w union jack bed & the neon, high-vis collars are a really great idea for nighttime walks. I’m not the type of person to dress Nico up, or get him different collars for everyday of the week, but after seeing all of the beautiful leather ones they had on offer I think he’s definitely due an upgrade to a nice, grown-up black leather collar & lead set soon, it is almost his birthday after all!

PS: Please someone tell me I am not the only one who thinks the small cream dog up there looks like a real life version of Jake from Adventure Time?! Click here to see what I mean!

When Ollie’s not shooting my outfits, his main job is as a music photographer (you can see his work here). The biggest perk of this for me, is that I get to tag along as his +1 to all sorts of gigs & festivals, and it’s getting to that time of year again! I love live music, and there’s nothing better than standing around outside with your friends in the sun, with a nice cold drink discovering new bands & seeing old favourites.

One thing I get asked a lot by people, surprised I actually enjoy camping & festivals, is ‘what the hell do you wear to a festival?!’ I guess they assume I wouldn’t have anything festival appropriate in my usual wardrobe. I always find that funny, as a lot of my outfits are actually quite casual & plain, it’s just the head to toe black makes them seem much more put together. So, I thought it would be fun to do a festival inspired outfit to show you what I mean. Obviously I’m still all in black & I think this tricks peoples eyes into seeing a ‘smarter’ outfit. Imagine these shorts were light denim & this shirt was checked though, and I’d be wearing virtually the same as any other girl there.

I have taken a pair of Hunters along with me to pretty much every festival I’ve been to since my first, they are such a staple & nothing comes close to them in terms of comfort, which is so important when you’re spending 3 days walking around. They can take a bloody good beating too, mine have seen so many sludgy fields, been caked in mud, danced in till the sun came up, folded & squashed into bags and they are still going strong. I can’t wait to get this sparkly new pair mucky!

Sorry for yet another weather related moan, but I really wish it would decide what it’s doing. I left the house in this beautiful, floaty new ASOS dress thinking it would be the perfect day for it’s first outing, but I was so wrong! It was lucky I’d grabbed my jacket before leaving as no sooner had we got outside, the clouds rolled in & it became cold, wet & miserable again. This outfit feels like it belongs in September, not almost Summer…

On a good note, looking at these photos I feel like my hair has finally grown to a length I’m really happy with & is in so much better condition too. Sorry for the gratuitous hair shot up there, but seriously, check out the first outfit post I did & how short it was!

I’d been going to the same, expensive, city center hairdressers for years & they always chopped my layers super short because my hair was ‘thick & heavy’ & needed ‘shaping’. I just went along with it, thinking they knew best. Then a little while ago I got back in touch with an old friend, who’s now a hairdresser, and she encouraged me to grow it all out. I was skeptical at first, and it seemed to be at an awkward in-between stage for months, which made me even more convinced that it was better shorter. I considered numerous times asking for the layers to be cut short again because it looked a mess, but now I see just how right she was. It’s virtually all one length now & yeah, it is thick & heavy, it takes ages to blowdry & gives me a headache from the weight if I wear it up for too long, but I think it’s worth it.

This week the continuing bad weather has put a stop to all outfit posts we had planned, so I thought I’d put together a wishlist of things I wish I was wearing instead…

My favourite summer staple is a nice, soft, loose fitting tank top. I have heaps of them already, but I’m always adding more to my collection, so I shall definitely be getting this eagle print one from AllSaints. Their tees are always so beautifully soft, they feel like ones you’ve been wearing in for years & the placement of the black on black print is perfect. I can’t get enough of this split leather skirt either, I can’t believe I don’t already own a leather skirt, I think that needs to be remedied imediately!

One thing I really need more of though are some nice bras for under all of my loose tanks. You know, the kind that add something to your outfit when you see them peeking out the side? Why are they so hard to find? I always prefer simple triangle styles for this, I don’t know why, but they seem less fussy & try hard. This lace version from Issue 1.3 is exactly what I’ve been searching for, so simple, but the lace & studded band help to make it feel like it’s supposed to be on show when you catch a glimpse of it under a loose top.

Summer means new sunglasses too, even if they look practically identical to all of my other pairs, I can never resist a good cateye! I fell in love with Aussie brand Le Specs when I got a pair of their ‘Runaways’ & was so impressed with the quality for the very reasonable price. It’s fair to say I’ve fallen head over heels for their ‘Halfmoon Magic’ style. There is a beautiful clear taupe colourway with rose mirrored lenses too, which I am pretty tempted by, but I think I’ll end up getting the black, as usual!
