Although I was buried in the crowd I was able to take some photographs of her with my Nikon D80 and a 70-300mm zoom lens. A skate girl next to me let me stand on her skateboard for a few shots. She had to steady me because skateboards aren't really designed for this sort of thing. I recently bought a Fujifilm Instax 200 camera. It's a large plastic camera about 7" long and 5" high. It has three exposure settings (lighten, normal and darken) and two lens settings (0.9 to 3 meters and 3 meters to infinity). I'm having fun playing around with it. In the digital world we live in it's easy to take a photograph and possibly improve on it with Photoshop and other programs. But I live in the natural world too and I prefer to just leave things alone. It was off-season in Aspen, the period between the end of the ski season and summer, so the town was quiet. But the club was filled with a boisterous crowd of Tegan and Sara fans, including many who had driven from Denver. I prefer taking pictures of bands using whatever stage light there is in the club. Back then I had a Pentax ME Super and I didn't even own a flash unit for it. And they're surrounded by all sorts of weird light enhancing stuff. scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="Peace" /><title type="text">Eyes Wide Open Exhibit</title><summary type="html">Today I went to Civic Center Park in downtown Denver where the American Friends Service Committee had their Eyes Wide Open exhibit about the human cost of the Iraq War. It's a very moving experience. Shoes and boots are used to symbolize the lost lives of Iraqis and U.S. soldiers. Lindo, which is a cremation garden and cemetery near Morrison overlooking Turkey Creek Canyon. The east side of the mountain has the famous lighted cross that can be seen from Denver. It was a gray day with occasional rain.
