that replaces the plasma rifle. It's probably the best energy weapon in the game and is my favorite weapon. So where can you find the A3-21 Plasma Rifle unique weapon?

A3-21 Plasma Rifle

Damage at 100%: 38
Ammo: MC cell

Location: Rivet City

How to get A3-21 Plasma Rifle

You get the A3-21 plasma rifle from Harkness in Rivet City. Before he gives you his rifle, you must go through the Replicated Man quest first.

You start the quest by talking to Dr.Zimmer in Rivet City's Science lab. He will ask you to find his android.

I won't go into the entire quest here, but you eventually discover that Harkness, the security chief of Rivet city, is the android.

Once you discover that Harkness is the android, you need to confront him about it. You will then re-activate his buried memories.

Tell Harkness that you want to "take care" of Dr. Zimmer yourself and he will give you his A3-21 Assault Rifle.

Optional: You can get an enhancement from Dr. Zimmer if you tell him that Harkness is the android. The enhancement increases you chance to hit in VATS, but it will give you bad Karma for giving Harkness away.

Once you have the A3-21 Plasma Rifle unique weapon, you should start investing points in your energy weapon because it's the best weapon to use. It's deadly accurate and although it may seem to have less damage than the Xualong Assault Rifle on paper, it actually packs way more punch.

Fallout 3: How many followers can you have?

Fallout 3: How many followers can you have?

A lot of people are wondering how many followers can you have in fallout 3. The maximum number of followers you can have at any time is 1.

The exception to that is Dogmeat, since he doesn't count as a follower. To find Dogmeat, you need to go to the scrapyard.

So in reality, the maximum number of followers you can have in Fallout 3 is two: Dogmeat and another character follower.

Fallout 3 Unique Weapons: The Terrible Shotgun

Fallout 3 Unique Weapons: The Terrible Shotgun

Finding the Terrible Shotgun unique weapon is pretty easy. I personally really love shotguns and when I found the Terrible shotgun, I was really glad. It's kick-ass.

The Terrible Shotgun

Damage at 100%: 79
Ammo: Shell

Location: Evergreen Mills Bazaar

To find The Terrible Shotgun

You'll find the Terrible shotgun on the body of Smiling Jack (once you kill him).

You can find Smiling Jack in his "store". I got a little lost finding it the first time, but it's really easy. Once you find the pool table, it's behind it.

You'll have to kill Jack to get The Terrible Shotgun unique weapon. Don't worry, I didn't get bad karma.

Fallout 3 Unique Weapons: Xualong Assault Rifle

Fallout 3 Unique Weapons: Xualong Assault Rifle

Xualong Assault Rifle is a Fallout 3 unique weapon. It's even more powerful than the chinese assault rifle and uses the same ammo. This activates the sequence.

You should first quicksave in case you screw up the sequence. Click on #001, then click #019. If you get an error message, it was the wrong number. Quickload and try another number.

2nd computer

Go through the Vault exhibit and enter the Museum's West wing.

You should see 2 computers. In the scrapyard. Where is the scrapyard? Northeast of Megaton.

Dogmeat is the first follower you should get. He is great to have initially because it's an extra character to have fighting on your side and he spots enemies very quickly and lets you know by growling.

You can find dogmeat in the scrapyard fighting some peeps. Help him out and he will start following you and helping you out.

Dogmeat is great initially, but gets annoying after a while because he's always growling/panting and he always stands in front of you. So by the time I have another NPC, I usually tell Dogmeat to go back to Vault 101.

Dogmeat is not very strong and will require a lot of stimpaks to keep him alive. I suggest you make him invincible by using the technique I describe in my post "How to make a follower invincible"

The scrapyard is here:

Click on the image to see it fullsized.

I suggest that you get Dogmeat as a follower in the beginning of the game and then you can choose whether you keep him or not.

Fallout 3: Can I run Fallout 3?

Fallout 3: Can I run Fallout 3?

What are the system requirement for Fallout 3? Can I run Fallout 3 on my computer?

When I first got Fallout 3, it wouldn't even run on my computer. While I was searching for the system requirements, I discovered a really cool site that tells you if your system can run almost any game.

The website can be found here

Once you give them permission to run a plugin on your computer, just select "Fallout 3" from the drop-down menu and it will test your computer. Then, it will tell you if you meet the requirements and if not, which sub-system needs to be upgraded.

So go on...find out if you can run Fallout 3 on your computer.

Fallout 3: How to make your followers invincible

Fallout 3: How to make your followers invincible

Having you Fallout 3 followers die on you really sucks. So here's how you can make your Fallout 3 followers invincible.

1. Open the control panel with ~

2. Enter "SetEssential [character] 1" where [character] is the hex code for him/her/it.

3. Press enter

4. Save your game and try to kill your follower. He should only go unconscious if you did it right.

Character Codes:

Paladin Cross: 000156e5
Jericho: 00000a71
Charon: 000156f6
Dogmeat: 0006a772
Fawkes: 0003d34e
Clover: 000156a2
Butch: 00027f65

Once you've set your follower as an essential character, they will effectively become invincible followers.

Fallout 3: Hacking Trick

Fallout 3: Hacking Trick

When I started to play Fallout 3, I hated to hack computers because of all the save/load that I need to do. Then I discovered a hacking trick that allows to remove dud passwords.

By finding open and close brackets in the random code like these: (...), [...], <...>, or {...}, you can either remove bogus passwords or replenish your tries.

You'll know that you found it because it'll highlight more than just the bracket.

The amount of brackets are determined by your science skill, the difficulty of the hack and randomness.

You can usually remove all but 4 passwords on most computer which is an assured successful hack. One the easy computers, you can sometimes remove all the duds. Hacking computers in Fallout 3 just got much easier

The Most Complete Fallout 3 Map

The Most Complete Fallout 3 Map

I looked around for a map of Fallout 3, but there's nothing really good out there. While surfing around on the forums, I found a way to run faster using the control panel (~).

To run faster in Fallout 3

1. Press the ~ to open the control panel

2. Enter "setgs fmoverunmult #" where # is the run multiplier.

3. The higher it is, the faster you'll run.

I personally use a run multiplier of 8 which is fast enough without being too fast. I've tried up to 100 with disastrous result. You run very fast, but you are also launched in the air by the slightest bump which result in you smashing into the ground and dying.

NOTE: Everyone gets the same multiplier, so your enemies will run faster too. Most enemies don't run, but it's really hard to hit those that do without the aid of VATS.

So there you have it. How to run faster in Fallout 3

Fallout 3 Review

Fallout 3 Review

Ok, so here's my Fallout 3 review. Overall I really like this game and I've become pretty addicted to it, but I still think that there are some element that are missing to make this an epic. Here is my full Fallout 3 review:

The Good

Graphics

All I have to say is WOW... Even though I don't have a super gamer's comp ( and I had to upgrade my vid card just to play) the game's graphics really suck you in.

VATS and combat

I am so glad that they kept the VATS combat system of the older Fallouts. Honestly, without it, it wouldn't have really been Fallout. I just love how you can enter a room full of raiders, and just VATS headshot them one after the other. The animation sequences was really well done too.

Immersive

What can I say about this...it just sucks you in. The graphics, the quests, the exploring...

Karma

Nothing new here, but it a great way to make a game less linear. At this moment, my character is good because I always play a good character first. On my second run at it, I will definitely play an evil character.

PIPBoy

AHHH, the trusty PIPBoy 3000. Never leave the vault without it. It's great that it acts as a sort of flashlight too. If only I had figure that out sooner in the game...

Side Quests

I've heard some people complain about the fact that the main quest is so short, and I agree. That why there are so many side quests available to play. And depending on how you play the game, some are available and some are not.

Exploring

I've spent countless hours roaming the wasteland. Once I hit level 20, I got the explorer perk to get all the locations and I've discovered that there are still many minor locations that don't have a marker.

The Bad

Crashing

A lot of players are encountering crashes in the game, including myself. It's very annoying to know that the game will crash every couple of hours. I got into the habit of saving my game very often because of that.

Horrible maps

The PIPBoy maps are so confusing. I got lost countless times trying to figure my way around in buildings.

Dude, Where's my car?

I was very disappointed to learn that there where no transportation other than your feet. I would have figured that the wastelanders would have some form of vehicles. I mean, the enclave have helicopters, why can't I have a motorcycle. At least I found out how to run faster.

Trading System

Supply and demand is not a factor in the wasteland. How dumb. It doesn't matter who you trade with, the only thing that affects price is your barter skill and trader perk.

What to do with caps?

There really isn't much you can do with caps once you've pimped out your pad. I have every weapon I could want, 1000s of ammo for each, more stimpacks than I can count. So what do I do with the 10k+ caps that's left over? Donate it?

So that's my 2 cent on Fallout 3 review. I've started this blog to catalog my progress in the game and to give tips and pointers to other players of the Fallout 3.

First of all, I have to say that I'm quite addicted to this game. In the last week, I've logged more hours in-game than I did at my j.o.b. All I have to say is that my girlfriend isn't liking this game very much...

Overall, I think that the game rocks, but IMHO it could have been so much better. I'll be posting my official fallout 3 review of the game soon.

I encourage you to leave any comments and questions you have about Fallout 3
