For May, I chose a simple Mother's Day theme. I'm currently obsessing over turquoise (my favorite color of all-time, ever since I can remember) mixed with red. I am usually not a big fan of red (typically just in clothing), but I am loving the pop of color that is has given my living room!

In case you didn't see the Emerald Results post last Wednesday, I want to let you know that the contestants and I made a unanimous decision to only cut 3 contestants instead of 5. So today, instead of presenting 5 contestants, you get to feast your eyes on 7 gorgeous projects!

It is so amazing to me how each contestant has interpreted Challenge #2, which was to sew anything you want, as

My next big adventure...

Hey guys, so now that Sew-vivor is going to be done soon, I can hardly wait to tell you guys about my next big adventure. Have any of you had any experience with the world of Geocaching? It is AWESOME!!! Some of you may be asking... um... Over the last year or two, I have developed a little crush-- on fabric.

The gorgeous, high quality, expensive, designer type.

I've delved into the world of online fabric shopping (check out my sidebar for some of my favorite sources), and I'm obsessed with my local quilting shop (I could seriously live there, everything is so pretty).
Oh geez, I sound like a fabric snob! lol.

Howdy folks!

I was absolutely blown away by last week's Emerald projects.

It was so fun to see how each contestant interpreted the challenge. We feasted our eyes on a gorgeous emerald sea of very different and unique projects, which was especially fun

7 Layer Cookies

You know that time of day... for me it's about 3:00pm.

The kids are about to come home from school, everyone is getting hungry, you have no idea what to make for dinner, you realize that you could use a treat?

I try not to do this too often, but sometimes I just need a tasty, sugary pick-me-up.

Sometimes it's a handful of chocolate chips.

Sometimes a yogurt.

Sometimes an apple.

I was nearly jumping up and down with excitement as the projects came rolling in over the last couple of days. They are all amazing!!! It doesn't seem right that we will already be saying goodbye to 5 of these incredibly talented contestants. Yes, you read that right... we are narrowing the competition down to the Top 5. Dear Universe,

I have an announcement... I am finally on Instagram!

As a blogger, I could have been shunned for waiting so long.

So I finally took control of the situation and hijacked my husband's ipad to create an account.

Three days later, he surprised me with an ipad mini (thank you tax return). I think he wanted his ipad back.

Well, I couldn't have planned that better myself!

A button can be the perfect accent to a project. It can really make an article of clothing 'pop.'
I use buttons all the time (I used them twice just this week for some sewing projects). I also love them for embellishing my little girl's hairbows. I still remember when I learned how to properly sew a button, I was in college! I learned why factory-sewn buttons usually don't hold up well,
