Part museum and part learning centre, the Calgary Police Discovery Centre (formerly YouthLink) lets kids indulge their fascination with police and the law. The Calgary Police Discovery Centre also features Alberta’s largest collection of policing artifacts ever placed on public display, so you can explore Calgary’s proud policing tradition of service and innovation.

Kids will be fascinated to get the inside scoop on exciting CPS units and equipment -- especially when they discover the amazing opportunities to learn about solving crimes and fun forensics. They can even try on a uniform!

The Wilder Institute's Calgary Zoo Teddy Bear Clinic is a charming way to learn about medical care (for people, animals, and our favourite stuffed bears!). Plus, you'll support animal conservation and enjoy a wonderful family day out this fall. Watch your little one light up as you bring them and their favourite plushies to the zoo for a bear-y special checkup.

Teddy Bear Clinic

On September 27, 2026, head to the zoo for the sweetest morning of TLC, learning, and fun. For a $5 donation per toy, teddy bears will receive the full health care experience, from a dedicated intake and triage team to health checks, custom prescriptions, and more. There will even be stitching stations for the 'patients' who need a little extra love! And if you have a young veterinarian-to-be, they can explore the animal ambulance and chat with the zoo’s Animal Health experts to learn how they care for the animals.

The zoo's dedicated animal health experts, educators, and volunteers will walk children through the importance of regular medical care for both animals and people (and teddy bears!), as they demystify a visit to the doctor's office. It's a relaxed, informative experience that supports a great cause.

The Teddy Bear Clinic will take place on the Asia Lawn and is open to zoo members only from 9 - 11 AM. General admission runs from 11 AM - 1 PM. A daily ticket is required for zoo entrance if you don't have a zoo membership. Don’t forget to grab your zoo tickets in advance and save big on admission for this event.
