 A food tweet!  Fan dreams do come true!

I saw a few fan tweets recently saying they missed David’s food tweets.  And, low and behold, we received a food tweet from David via Kari!

Looks like a soup/stew, and as per Kari, it contains chicken, pork chops (chuleta) and mussels.   Here is a pic I found on a website featuring South American food.   Looks hearty!  And jam-packed with protein!

By the way, while I was looking into South American foods, I also found a picture of a dessert entitled “Pastel de Choclo“.  If David happens to eat that dessert over the next 2 years, it would make my YEAR if that fact found its way into a tweet lol!  Doesn’t it look amazing??? ———————>

Three years ago today!  Archuleta-Cook in the Philippines

It was a major trip for two idols 3 years ago.  There was no shortage of coverage of this trip, and as I looked through footage of interviews, performances, arrivals and departures,  it was difficult to decide what to repost.  I decided a short vid of David being greeted by many adoring fans on the show SIS, with David looking a bit overwhelmed at the joy and excitement around him.

And in viewing this last night, I noticed someone familiar on the stage; David is being interviewed by Gelli de Belen, who played Teresa (Anya’s mom) in Nandito Ako.  All of you probably knew that, but I didn’t.  In watching the vid, I noticed a familiar gorgeous smile and, voila, it’s the same person.  Check out 1:06 where he finds how to pronounce her name. 

And I saw Ray!

And here is his performance of Stand by Me at SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.  Watch to the end.  He nails it, and then some….

Hello FOD!

It’s Zelle (@zelle13) from the comments! I’m writing in response to Heidi’s suggestion to unearth (haha) David pictures from our hard drives and share them for posting.   I’ve been posting a few links to pics taken by my sis on the comments section in the past couple of days, but that was before this wonderful suggestion came up and was posted on the site.

As it happens, today is May 16 already here in the Philippines. It’s a day my sister @eeeek and I (and I suppose all of the Pinoy fans) like to commemorate, because it is the date of the first ever concert of D (back-to-back with David Cook) here in the Philippines back in 2009. For me, it’s even more special because today is the third anniversary of the first time I ever saw David in his own flesh, haha.

So I’d like to share some pictures my sister took during that epic, epic Manila concert at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds back in 2009.  Notice…

1 – He glows! Literally. It’s like all the energy and passion of singing from his soul is bursting out of him.

Happy Mother’s Day Lupe!

Although David is in South America on this Mother’s Day, we can take a look back at last year’s vlog titled Hey Mama – this vlog was just a year ago, but it seems like much longer since so much has happened in the last 12 months!  We understand that missionaries can call their moms on Mother’s Day,  yay!  This vlog is 8+ minutes of pure win!  Although there have been some major changes in David’s life since last year, what hasn’t changed is David’s obvious love for his mom, as he wishes her Happy Mother’s Day with a little snippet of Kanye West’s song. Tomorrow is Also Mothers Day!!!

I’m hoping that tomorrow will provide an opportunity for David to connect with his lovely mom. I can only imagine the smiles and tears that would be present on either end of the conversation. God bless Lupe, all other moms, mother figures, and all who love their moms on this special day (tomorrow.)

I’m sure Kalei will have some special mothers day treats for you, but I’ll set the mood with a little David/mom/Falalalala. So much love on that stage in Salt Lake City last December as David read “My Kind Of Christmas” to the children followed by David and Lupe leading the children in song and dance.

Kari Enlightens Us On Forevermore:

David, with innate understanding of music is able to take a song, mold it, meld it , and with his voice and emotion make it “soar!”  How long though, does it take him to “master” the emotion, meaning,  lyrics, and melody of a song he’s unfamiliar with?

Naree posed an interesting question to Kari yesterday re: his preparation for recording Forevermore. Kari’s answer (once again) reinforced the belief that David is” prodigious” in his musical abilities! He leaves me proud, admiring, appreciating, and saying “wow” every time!

It boggles my mind that he could so beautifully interpret and sing these OPM songs on Forevermore with barely any study and practice! And his interpretation is appreciated by “those who know.” Ana Feleo when asked her thoughts on “favorite songs” on Forevermore offered this:

Masterclass Lady talked about “You Are My Song ” and Pastel posted the article yesterday. Today from the album, I’m posting “Tell Me.”
The arrangement and production by Jimmy Antiporda on this track are so beautiful and significantly different from the  Side A’s version. When the piano begins, it’s reminiscent of a How to Save a Life by the Fray; I love that piano entrance! David and Jimmy chose a much simpler (less rocky more elegant) arrangement using piano and violin. It’s more similar to the rendition in accompaniment and style to that of  Joey Albert. (At least to my non-expert ears). David’s phrasing and tone are perfection  in this song. He brings me straight into a hauntingly sorrowful pool of angst as he’s struggling to accept that his efforts to save a relationship have been thwarted and he must release his love. *tears* Around 2:45  he pleads to his love and his voice swells “Tellll me where did I go wrong? What did I do to make you change your miiiind com-plete-ly~ It’s absolutely magical! I’ll look forward to Masterclass Lady also reviewing “Tell Me,” hopefully soon.
