My friend Casey recently bought a condo here in Chicago and has been having fun decorating and purchasing furniture. One of her first purchases was this gorgeous Wood Table with Stainless Steel Top ($599 on sale) from West Elm.

I am now officially obsessed with it and wishing I was anywhere close to purchasing my own house so I could splurge on a table like this. As Casey pointed out, the stainless steel top means its not susceptible to the knicks and dings that might afflict a wood table, and it wipes clean quite easily.

For the first time in all of the years we have been together my husband and I are taking a “beach” vacation this summer. This is not necessarily by choice, as we have tied our summer vacation into a trip to the Caribbean for a good friend’s wedding. When push comes to shove my husband and I would much rather explore new cities than sit on the beach consuming pina coladas, but I’m sure we will manage.

As a result of us not only spending a week on the beach but spending a week on the beach with good friends (eek!), I am on the lookout for a super cute swimsuit or two or three.

This Marysia Molokai Swimsuit caught my eye at Anthropologie. I’m obsessed with its unusual cut and the contrasting colors and patterns. It has a couple of great reviews on the Anthro website. It’s just flat out lovely.

Unfortunately the uniqueness of this swimsuit comes at a steep price. This beauty will cost you $285.

I’ve been seeing mirrored sunglasses all over the place and I’m not going to lie. Mirrored sunglasses make me so happy. They just seem so quintessentially summer to me, and right now I think we could all use some summer.

While I love the Ray-Bans that I’ve been seeing, I think if I’m going to invest in a pair this summer it’s going to be these Blue Color Revolution Sunglasses from Westward Leaning. The combination of the blue mirrors with the brown tortoiseshell and the wayfarer frame is leaving me a little weak in the knees and ready for the beach. This is just a sexy pair of sunglasses.
