1. How did you choose your shop’s name?

As far as I know, everybody on Etsy is obsessed with owls, lol. Seriously, if you try to search handmade or vintage owls there are thousands of entries. So I thought that a name with “owl” in it might bring some sales and love from the audience. And it did! The owl that you see on my banner and avatar is a real 3-D model I made myself once. Now it is a symbol of my store and she sits on my desk all the time giving me inspiration with her wise look of approval…

2. What is your favorite item in your shop?

Right now the most favourite item from my store is the unisex Brimaco leather jacket www.etsy.com/listing/79028153/hitting-the-road-70s-new-old-stock This garment has such a great history being made in the 70s by British Manufacturing Company in Canada. The jacket is an excellent example of British racer jacket designs with supple leather and playful fringe. But the best part that it is completely new! Only imagine: all this years it was stored in a dark closet waiting for its new owner… which can be you! It may not be the cheapest item in my store but it’s certainly the most stylish and versatile. And its leather smells like ADVENTURE!

3. Where do get your inspiration from?

Inspiration is a very fluid thing, you know. Sometime you hear a tune and it combines in your head with other pictures from you memory. I can get inspired by great movies and books and, sometimes, by a quite casual thing like watching my blubbery bush blooming outside – it has such well-designed flowers that look like tiny white bells!

4. What is your favorite era for clothing?

I like to dress up myself and love being noticed and complimented on my outfits. Every era can be worked out if you can find a right balance between modern look and vintage chic. I love those little hats from the 40s – they can turn anyone into Noir movie star. Having tried looks from different decades, I personally found that 60s is the era that suits me the best, fashion-wise and mood-wise. I love fashion experiments of the time, the fresh look of a-line mini dresses, bright bold patterns, André Courrèges futuristic outfits and the swinging London’s mod vibe.

Here, at long last, is my BeautyArmy.com review and vlog! With BeautyArmy.com you pay $12 per month and get up to 6 samples. You choose the samples you’ll receive instead of having random samples sent to your house. So, if you don’t like what you get it’s your own fault. Except for one small thing. While I could choose 6 samples, I only had 9 from which to choose, which doesn’t leave much room for options.

I received the following products:

• Grand Central Beauty Smart Skin Perfecting Mask
• Weleda Almond Cleansing Lotion
• LaRocca Skincare Cellular Gold Hydrating Body Balm

This box was definitely worth the $12 as there were some great samples inside. That said, I had to throw the Mad Skincare moisturizer away because no matter what I tried I could not get the product out of the tube. The MyMix Foundation is much too dark for my skin, and the Grand Central Beauty Mask is CONFUSING. I think half of the video above is me trying to figure out exactly what the product is because BeautyArmy didn’t send a card and surprisingly the word “mask” doesn’t appear anywhere on the product. I’m really excited to try the LaRocca product!

If you like having more control over the products you receive then I’m sure you’ll enjoy BeautyArmy. Personally, I enjoy the element of surprise as opposed to picking my own products.

I did stumble upon a quick way to save a little extra cash at the Gap outlet and Banana Republic Factory Store though.

If you head over to the webpages for the Gap Outlet and Banana Republic Factory Store (those links will take you right there), there’s a box in the upper right hand corner that tells you to register to receive emails and they’ll send you a coupon good for 15% off!

I did this a couple of weeks ago when we went to the outlets, and I was able to print the coupons immediately.
