These last days, I have been busy knitting the Atlantic Puffin Cardigan for my little nephew. He visited for a week, and fortunately I managed to get the cardigan finished for a photo shoot, before he left for Bornholm, where he lives.

The cardigans are knitted in a cotton wool blend, Navia Bummull. Since we do have a little more warm weather, that is very appropriate. Right now, test knitters are knitting the cardigan, and then the pattern will be released.

Here are some images from the photoshoot on the Beach in Hvalba, Suðuroy, with my nephew and my daughter.

I have not yet designed a cardigan, which is the next project I would like to try to make. I would like to design a cardigan for kids, and use a cotton/wool blend from the Faroese yarn brand Navia.

I will first knit a cardigan for my youngest daughter, and then I have two nephews, I also would like to knit this Atlantic Puffin cardigan for.

I use the Atlantic Puffin as inspiration, and the pattern is inspired by the Puffin Beak, to be excact. I am fascinated by the puffins and I think they are really beautiful birds. I love geometric patterns and again this is a fair isle pattern with two colours, one base and one contrast colour.

My daugther wanted a dress for easter and I designed her this Hipster Sweater Dress. She had one wish, that I used a light pink I had in my stash, so of course I had to do that This dress is knitted using double strands of light fingering yarn. It has a lace pattern at the edge of the dress. I wanted to make a easy and quick knit pattern, and I believe I have accomplished that with this dress pattern I used Filcolana New Zealandsk Lammeuld for this dress.

This week, the Akraberg sweater is published in Ravelry and on Etsy, and I am so happy! I loved to knit and design this sweater and I also love the place it is called after. Akraberg is a place with a lighthouse in the southernmost point of Suðuroy. At Akraberg you get a panorama view of the ocean and a wonderful view to the beautiful cliffs. It is a place, I often visit.

The sweater is knitted with Sirriyarn, 3-ply in aran weight. My daughter wanted her sweater in dark green, I think it is a very nice colour for this sweater.

Yesterday I did finish a new sweater, this time, for myself. I used Sirri Yarn, which is a Faroese Yarn and 100% eco. It is not a soft yarn, but I love it, and the texture is simply beautiful. It is nice to wear, if you have a long sleeve T-shirt under, otherwise it can be itchy. I love blue, especially dark blue, and had to use that color in my sweater. I will make a pattern for this sweater soon, maybe in mens sizes too.

My cat loved the sweater, I had to move him away, eventually.

I love Faroese Fair Isle patterns and I love yoke sweaters, and that is why I decided to design my first sweater with this over hundreds years old pattern from the Faroes knitted using Icelandic Yoke style. I started out with the Bohéme sweater for kids. And after it became published in Ravelry, I got very positive feedback for it. I then decided to make a sweater pattern for adults too.

I made the adult sweater more close fitting than the kids sizes, and I love how it turned out. The sweater pattern is available on Ravelry now.

Today, I am working on making a winter sweater pattern for kids. One of my new years resolutions was to make at least one pattern a month in 2017, let’s se if I can make that happen. This is my first sweater pattern, so I am a little excited about how it will turn out! The sweater is knitted in the round from bottom up. I plan to make the pattern in these sizes: 2, 4, 6 and 8 years. I have knitted a gauge swatch and drawn the pattern on my computer. The pattern is a two color work fair isle, just like the original fair isle patterns. Again, my inspiration comes from Faroese Fair Isle patterns, which I love. I use snældan yarn for my pattern, worsted weight and needle size 4.5mm (US7) and 5mm (US8).

Today I am working on a new Christmas Stocking pattern. This time the pattern is with Rudolf Red Nose Reindeer, and I think it is so cute, because Rudolf is cute <3 Also this time, I will implement Faroese Fair Isle patterns, because I think they are so pretty, and it makes the stockings that more special.

I am knitting two of these Rudolf Red Nose stockings to my adorable nephews who live in Rønne, Denmark. They have birthdays coming up the latter half of this year. They will get them then, so they can use them for this years Christmas. I will knit one in green and one in blue, but with the same motive.

I love to design and knit these stockings, and I love it even more, if the recipient loves the finished product.

I hope the stockings will bring the boys Christmas Joy for many years to come
