Lunch with coworkers can often take an uncomfortable turn. It just gets a little confusing when they see me chasing strangers down the streets of midtown Manhattan and awkwardly pretend the stranger doesn't notice me engaging in a full fledged photo shoot. These shoes are the cause of one of those moments. At first, I wasn't sure what I was looking at but soon realized I was drooling over Chanel's newest sneaker. Could have done without the black tights but the shoes are incredible.

I often spot this pretty bird flying around midtown and every time she looks F'ing head-to-toe "bon chic, bon genre." She moves pretty fast, so she's hard to catch. Happy to get her this time in the cape and animal booties. Double Drool!!

The Lincoln Center area is always a great place to camp out on the weekend and take a few shots, plus I can walk there from my apartment. This particular day was windy as F*#@ but these ladies weren't about to miss their matinee and subsequent bikini wax. The Costume Institue at the NY Metropolitan Museum of Art every year picks an exhibit to honor the fashion industry and its contributions to the world it shapes. Last year's exhibition was call Impossible Conversations. I won't go into the full details of the exhibit but in-short it celebrated the work of Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada. I was recently going through my albums and I totally forgot I pilfered a few shots while I was trying on the garments behind security's back. As you can imagine everything was a little snug :( Here are some of my favorite featured heels/platform.

Saw this on my way to work just outside Central Park. Not sure what the story was, seems odd to watch your child play steps away from a busy street. Either way, I was drawn to the leather jacket Mama-Bear was wearing. It's a really cool modern leather jacket pieced together like armor or an exoskeleton. Reminds me of bones or an insect.

Kids are expensive, and lord knows once you have one you can pretty much say goodbye to name brand anything. What's a lady to do? Everyone knows the best thing to gag the instinct that screams, "your eggs are disappearing and you'll be scrapping the bottom of the barrel soon!!" and affording that luxury arm candy, is a small obnoxious dog aka your new baby. It's the only thing that really makes sense when you're a sensible baby-hungry woman living in the City, who desperately needs that $2,000 Chanel black quilted lambskin leather maxi flap bag. Well done sister, you look great!!

So it's 2013...what the hey! I've really got to start posting more often. The fall was a little crazy and I may have had a little too much to drink. So, for the one person who looks at this blog, I'm sorry for the lack of posts over that last few months. This year is all about progress and getting what you want (Prada, Prada, PRADA!!). Also, anything Burberry Prorsum...I'd let dogs shit in my mouth for that. Great Danes excluded. They shit like horses.

I picked this picture as a reminder of that. Not the dog thing, the progress thing. She's clearly moving through the crowd as if she owns the place and takes a break to flip back her hair and do a diva check. [Big obnoxious scarf that will inevitably blow in the wind to whip someone in the eye, Check!] The only thing that matters is where she's going and how she'll get there. Things I must remember when tackling New York City and the new year. Wish me luck, Y'all. Happy 2013!

New York Fashion Week: Pt. 4

Unfortunately, my NY Fashion Week experience is extremely limiting. For some reason you need what they call a "pass or ticket" to enter the shows. UGH! Apparently, my Anna Wintour costume was NOT convincing. In my defense, the bob haircut wig was on point! It was the makeshift Chanel suit made out of a Target duvet cover and perhaps my beard that gave me away. Either way, Fashion Week is just as much about the people who come to boast their own personal style as it is the big designers and their new collections. New York is all about a unique perspective and one of a kind minds that fill our city. We are a pot luck of humanity living on the greatest island in the world. These fashion organisms are designed to turn heads and I'm happy to bring them to my blog. Though they may not be on the big stage they do walk down the catwalk that is New York City and can be just as inspiring.

I was thoroughly entertained by these boys at New York's Fashion Week. I don't know if I actually like either of these outfits and I'd definitely wouldn't wear them. Although, I'd snatch up their rose bow ties in a heart beat. Super cute! Nonetheless, the creativity is inspiring and I love them both.

It took every ounce of strength I had not to ask the boy in yellow for three wishes.

Wish 1: To shit gold (Specify nuggets as bars have dangerous edges)

Wish 2: I could shape shift into Ric Flair "The Nature Boy" in a blink of the eye.

Wish 3: To punch Michelle Obama in the kooder. I love her more than anyone but it would be awesome to say I did that. (This wish may be amended to included previous first ladies (living or dead)...Mamie Eisenhower I'm looking at you!)

When I first arrived at Lincoln Center the first thing I saw was this gaggle of gals dressed to the nines in front of the plaza fountain. They were by far wearing the most outrageous of the outfits sauntering the center. I mean...from the fabrics, the cut, the hats, to the accessories, these women were in a hardcore fashion circle-jerk! Being sure not to get caught in the middle of that throw down I was careful to stand back, aim, and shoot!
