2016 is shaping up to be an interesting year for American GQ. It’s a series of cover firsts as David Beckham follows in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Justin Bieber. Reuniting with fashion photographer Alasdair McLellan, Beckham snags two covers for GQ’s April 2016 issue, which doubles as its fifth annual Style Bible.
Connecting with the magazine, the media appointed style icon confesses that he misses his initial claim to fame. Beckham shares, “I miss soccer every day. I don’t know whether it’s the athlete in me, or the passion I have for the game: I always think that I can step back on the field and play.”
Reminiscing about his time spent in the states, Beckham continues, “You know, maybe I could play another year in the U.S. If I was still living in L.A., I’d probably really seriously think about coming back for a year. Justin Bieber may have been born in 1994, but the Canadian singer is fully experiencing the 90s with his current style choices. On his Purpose world tour, Bieber has adopted the streetwear-inspired fashions of Los Angeles-based label Fear of God. Wearing the brand in his personal life, it’s no surprise to see Bieber comfortable in the designs of Jerry Lorenzo. Talking to WWD about creating pieces for the tour, Lorenzo shared, “There are new styles that we made for him that I think we will put out in upcoming seasons.” The designer continues, “I think it maybe is a focus group.”

James Franco Covers Rolling Stone

Covering the April 7, 2016 issue of Rolling Stone, James Franco catches up with the magazine in the midst of a production for The Mad Whale. The film was produced by Franco’s grad students at USC. A man that wears many hats, Franco explains, “It’s a total filmmaking class: In the fall, the writing students come up with a concept, and in the spring, I take over and we shoot it.”

The director of Why Him?, which stars Franco and Bryan Cranston, John Hamburg commented on the unusual personality. Hamburg confides, “On comedies, usually everybody’s fucking around between takes, but that’s not James’ process.” The director continues, “He’s making use of every single moment. The other day he was in hair and makeup, typing on a laptop. I said, ‘What are you doing, writing a novel?’ He said, ‘Yep.’ And he actually was!” Read more on RollingStone.com.

The BeFoUr singer embraced a cool graphic spin on the leather biker jacket with help from Faith Connexion. Malik let the jacket do the talking as he wore a casual black tee and skinny jeans to complete his look. Not his first time wearing the brand, the 23 year-old singer was recently spotted out and about in Milan, sporting Faith Connexion’s graffiti cargo jacket.

Just in time for Movember, Cut.com have given us a peek at how men’s hair and facial hair trends have evolved in the last century – all in a one-minute clip.

Model and musician Samuel Orson hopped on a barber’s chair for the video and pulled off every single ‘do, though we’re a little sad we don’t see more of his bod between each look.

There’s no shortage of ‘staches and slicked back hair in the video, but our favourite look has got to be the 1940s sailor style, and it seems like several others are in the same boat. One YouTube commenter took the words out of our mouths: “HOT DAMN.”

Travis is star of the buzz-gaining History Channel show Vikings. Design, Art Direction and Hand painted titles for BLAG by Sally A. Edwards.

Witness below the transformation of Travis from Calvin Klein poster boy, to a fearless viking. Fimmel is the face behind the revival of Calvin Klein in the early 2000's which enrolled with a string of his CK ads. By hiring Travis the label gained new momentum. While single-handedly responsible for the rise of the fashion advertising machine in the 90s the popular american brand's campaign imagery got back its oomph with casting of the young Aussie model. 'Till this day he can be ranked as one of Calvin Klein's most popular face, alongside greats such as Brooke Shields and Christy Turlington.

A good friend once told me that the distinctive fashion darling – more commonly known as Alexa Chung – had no choice but to end her four year relationship with her boyfriend, Alex Turner, due to his incomparable dress sense. Ultimately, it seems, he was beating her to the spotlight.

The English guitarist and frontman of Arctic Monkeys is nothing less than a special, one-of-a-kind musician, whose choice in clothing ranges from leather inspired, indie rock jackets to vintage prep and mod pieces. Alex is just one of very few artists to both rejuvenate and pull off the mop-top hair cut with great ease and confidence. Throughout his music career, the varied usage of guitars and studio recording equipment is paramount and of top quality. Equally, his choice of threads is as parallel and impressive.

If you were to search for ‘Alex Turner fashion’ on Google, you would need both time and patience on your hands. It’s been a stellar couple of years for Mr Timberlake, having successfully reinvented himself from singer to actor following a break from his music career. With starring roles in movies such as The Social Network, Friends with Benefits (playing a rather well-dressed GQ editor) and In Time between 2010-2011, Timberlake’s self-imposed hiatus went astonishingly well, by anyone’s standards.

Having returned from the musical wilderness at the start of the year with the release of his third studio album, The 20/20 Experience, Timberlake is set to follow it up later this year with the highly anticipated second instalment.

This return to music has signalled not only a clear change in sound, but also style. With his music adopting a more suave, soulful and mature approach, his dress sense has followed suit. Lionel Messi was in Zurich yesterday to receive the FIFA Ballon d'Or 2012 trophy. The Barcelona and Argentina forward has been awarded the Ballon d'Or for a fourth year running, and took to the stage in a polka dot tuxedo from Dolce & Gabbana. There were quite a few comments online, critising his choice of attire, which I'm really surprised. I honestly thought he looked really good there. Loving the bold polka dot jacket and matching bow tie. I think he carried off the look beautifully.

Cristiano Ronaldo attended the FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala 2013 at Congress House in Zurich yesterday. The highly esteemed Real Madrid footballer was one of the three contenders of the much coveted trophy. Ronaldo wore an elegant black tuxedo with satin finishes, created especially for him by Dean & Dan Caten of Dsquared2. He paired it with a clean-cut white shirt and sharp black bowtie. Patent lace-up shoes and a skinny belt finished the look.

Damian Lewis attended the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles yesterday. Damian, who won Best Actor in a Television Show (Drama) for "Homeland", wore a black satin notch lapel tuxedo, white dress shirt, black satin bow tie and black patent leather dress shoes all by Burberry. He looked absolutely jubilant at the event, definitely a well deserved award which I'm sure many "Homeland" fans will agree.

It's Justin Bartha! I was so excited to see him on the red carpet yesterday for the 70th Annual Golden Globes Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Us viewers across the Atlantic pond were treated to the first episode of "The New Normal" last Thursday on E4, and I am hooked. I have not laughed so hard at a television series for ages. Love love love Justin Bartha in the series, where he played one half of a gay couple, trying for a baby via a surrogate.

We had a crush on this pair of desert boots from Mark McNairy. Since its launch in 2008, the New Amsterdam brand got us used to a hint of quirkiness in its creations, still keeping tradition as a backdrop. Since summer 2011, the creator felt free to use many patterns and striking colors. Following the same spirit, camouflage appeared on the autumn-winter 2012 pairs. Camo is a tough one! I mean, it may be hard to match. As for us, to make those magnifiscent desert boots “shine” we think of a chinos/jeans, sweater, parka combo. They are made in Northamptonshire, England for an irreproachable construction: crepe soles, Goodyear welt and camo printed upper. Certainly not the kind of pair you would wear everyday, but confirmed styles may offer themselves a nice gift, quality as quirky and 70% off!
