Solange Knowles attended the Belvedere party in Cannes wearing the same $2,623 Roberto Cavalli Printed Silk Twill Jacket Karolina Kurkova wore for her appearance on the Today Show in March.

While Karolina styled her jacket with a white Roberto Cavalli button down, $1,495 Marissa Webb leather pants, and $698 Ruthie Davis Captiva Pumps, Solange rocked the matching $1,271 Printed Wide Leg Trousers and a green clutch.

The printed blazer has padded shoulders, a shawl collar, and buttoned cuffs.

This one is tough! I love that Solange went with the full suit, but I’m also feeling Karolina’s getup. It’s a tie for me.

Rihanna and Karrueche Tran have more in common than Chris Brown!
Last night Karrueche celebrated her birthday at Vanquish Nightclub in Atlanta in the same $52 American Apparel Red Bustier Dress Rihanna wore back in February.

 

While Rihanna rocked her itty bitty dress with a $180 Coal n Terry Roll-Up Army Jacket and ankle strap sandals, Karrueche went bold with a pair of $1,695 Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Afro Wild’ White Fringed Peep Toe Boots (last worn here).

The dress is simple and sexy, and boasts adjustable shoulder straps.

Karrueche is definitely a cutie, but the boots are a tad overwhelming here. Rihanna’s sandals were the perfect touch, along with the camo jacket which added an edgy punch.

Her flat espadrille sneakers boast an oxford style lace-up front, a flat jute-covered sole, and navy blue and gold stripes.

• Rihanna’s been a loyal Topshop customer for a few years now, but that might all change. The ‘Pour it Up’ singer is suing the British retailer for selling t-shirts bearing her likeness without her permission. According to the New York Post, Rihanna’s legal team has been trying to come to an agreement for the last eight months, but both parties have been unable to work things out. Apparently, UK laws don’t protect Rihanna’s right to her own image: Topshop bought the pictures from the photographer, paid him, but are not legally obligated to compensate Rihanna for licensing fees. A source divulged: “What is most offensive for Rihanna is that they basically told her, ‘Go to hell. We don’t care; we are going to continue selling you.’ Topshop is now in the United States. They set up in Manhattan and Nordstrom, but they know better than to do this in the US because they would get in. Even though the UK laws don’t protect the artist, she has decided to move forward and sue Topshop. She has spent almost $1 million in litigation at this point. She says it’s the principle, and wants to make a statement about it. They are taking advantage of artists. It is just exploitation. What they are doing is wrong.” (NYP)

• Could John Galliano be headed to TV? Maybe. Rumors have been swirling that the designer is in talks to be doing his first televised interview with Charlie Rose. Galliano’s publicist, Liz Rosenberg, denies the whole thing, saying, “there are no plans in place regarding TV appearances for John at this time.” Charlie Rose executive producer Yvette Vega says they would love to have the designer on their show, but could not confirm if he would be on the show or not: “We are open to interviewing people whose views represent a wide range of opinions, from Bashar al-Assad to Bono.” So, it looks like for now, the only post-Dior firing account we’ll hear from Galliano will be in next moth’s Vanity Fair, hitting newsstands June 7^th.   • Abercrombie CEO Mike Jeffries has been in the news lately for saying that unattractive and overweight people are not his target demographic. Well, it looks like Mr. Jeffries could do with a couple fatties buying some of his label’s shirts, as he received $40 million less in annual compensation last year. But it’s not all bad for the Abercrombie boss. In spite of the pay cut, Jeffries still made gains in his cash compensations of yearly salary, bonus, and other monies he just happened to collect. So I guess he’s still rich, and we’ll just have to deal! (WWD)

• Could this green lipstick be the next big thing?  This Magic Moroccan Hare Color-Changing Lipstick looks like the color of money in the tube, but once it goes on, it changes to a shade of pink that compliments your skin tone. But be careful– it temporarily stains your lips, so make sure you’re willing to commit to the same shade for a little while. How does it work? The lipstick contains dye Red 27, which reacts with your body’s pH balance to produce a unique color. There are similar products on the market, for example Smashbox‘s O-Gloss (which I own–it’s awesome!) has a similar effect, but without staining your lips. So, what do you think? • Nigel Barker and his wife, makeup artist Cristen, are making their foray into the cosmetics business, launching two beauty lines, one high-end, and one to be sold en masse. Beauty Equation, the more expensive brand, will offer skin serums and treatments, as well as color and complexion correcting kits. BE Cosmetics, their drugstore offering, will include more affordable skincare options, in addition to color palettes, lipsticks and glosses. The Barkers say their brand’s goal is to help women achieve a “camera ready” look: “After years of staring at people through a close lens, you get a really tight look at the skin and the face,” the noted fashion photographer told WWD. This collection is supposed to make sure those “tight” looks are on point. The Barkers are still confirming retailer information, but both lines are due out next year. (WWD)
