Few weeks ago, we went to Laur, Nueva Ecija for Rozzelle's graduation. I did her hair and makeup and if you want to see it, I blogged about it here. Because our trip to Laur was also to have a mini-reunion with my husband's family, we have planned a trip to the beach (or so I thought it was?).

So I packed my things and I'm ready for the white sand. But to my surprise, there's no beach, there's only a river. I was not disappointed at all since this will be my first time to go near a river. It was really exciting. I never taught that there's something like this in Nueva Ecija. When I think of Nueva Ecija all I picture in my head are rice fields. Period. Good thing I brought my NIVEA Sun Moisturizing After Sun Spray with me. We used it to protect us from the sun.

I wore a lace caftan from Surbala this time because, honestly speaking, I am not so confident with my body hahahaha! We all get through that stage, right? I'm human! LOL. After a while, I preferred to wear my purple shirt. After all, this is not a beach :P

Ethan's first professional hair cut

Hey girls and mommies! This is actually a late post. I've been trying to schedule this for the past few months but I just can't seem to finish the article and put it up. Now that I'm a bit free to sit down and write an article, I'll share my son's first professional hair cut at Cuts for Tots. You ready? Here we go!

After Ethan's first birthday, which I still have to blog too, we went to SM Megamall to get his first professional hair cut. Of course, we can always go to the trusty barber shop for this but I want to get his first hair so we looked for a kid salon which lets parents collect their child's first hair plus I feel that barber shops are a thing of the past (LOL). I went around at SM Megamall and saw Cuts for Tots.

There are a lot of kids getting their hair cut at Cuts for Tots. The place is very child-friendly! They have LCDs where kids can watch cartoons or animated films. There are also toys around so the kids can play while waiting for their turn.

The cashier area also sells stuff like oils which are safe for kids too!

We had a great experience with Cuts 4 Tots. I got my son's first hair and I kept it in my "memory box." The toys helped Ethan to behave while the stylist is cutting and styling his hair. We also got free shampoo and blow dry! Hurray! Even kids get pampered nowadays. Back in the days when I was a kid, boys get their hair cut in barber shops. That's how I remember it and we spend hours waiting for my brother to get his turn and, when he does, we spend an hour for his hair cut to be done because he cries or is irritated by the hair falling on his shoulder or neck. It's just one painful experience for me because I sit for hours for my brother to get his new pogi look! Hahaha! By the way, he's all grown up now. Visit his blog at The Metro Lad.

The price is very affordable too! It would only cost you P300 for the hair cut plus you can request for your child's hair. They will put it in a little plastic then store away! They also offer packages where they take a photo of your kid's before and after shot and a certificate too! It will be for an additional cost though.

Of course, after the hair cut we went to Karate Kid to eat our dinner with Ethan's new look!

I wasn't able to take photos of our food but I took a photo of this Gyoza because it's my fave!

PORTFOLIO: Rozzelle's Graduation Day Makeup

It's been quite a while since I last updated my makeup portfolio. Although I never stopped doing makeup for clients, sometimes, I just feel so lazy to blog about it. Since I am in the mood today, I want to share Rozzelle''s graduation makeup all the way from Laur, Nueva Ecija.

Rozzelle is my husband's cousin and we went to Laur, Nueva Ecija to witness and celebrate one of the most memorable event in her life - graduating college. It was a double celebration too since her mom flew from Singapore to Nueva Ecija to be part of her graduation ceremony, which calls for a family reunion. Hurray!

While doing her makeup

For Rozzelle's look, I decided to go with a daytime makeup look with soft smoky eyes. I used brown eyeshadows for her look, highlighted her eyes and gave it a little drama with some falsies. I'm just so happy that she loved it! Even her friends at the ceremony teased her as "Celine," a character in a top-rated TV show in ABS-CBN. I also gave her hair a bit volume and gave it some soft curls.

Finished product! Another masterpiece!

I also did her mom's makeup, Tita Vilma. Same concept for Tita's makeup since the graduation happened when the weather was scorching hot! I changed her lippie to something pink so she looks younger and more radiant :)

Hair cut at Going Straight

Now that it's summer it's a must to visit our hair stylist for a regular trim. It helps you maintain your healthy hair. Chop off those split ends!

I usually visit Index Salon for a hair cut. It's the nearest salon in my area but I recently explored and found Going Straight through my friend Sara. I went to their branch at the 5th Floor of SM Megamall and I'm sharing my experience with you!

I was at the mall that time and I need a hair cut. Because I was chatting with Sara over the phone that time, she recommended Going Straight. I never tried that salon before so I went ahead and walked in. I love the interior of the salon. Of course, it smells like one but I love the red walls.

I also love how the stylist and the manager herself assisted me. They shampoo-ed my hair and blow dried it. The stylist also gave me tips on how to take care of my hair since I have colored hair plus I curled it.

I am also surprised that for a salon inside a mall, especially SM Megamall, they only charge P199 for a hair cut! Affordable! With all the service I got, this is a good deal! Thank you Sara for telling me about Going Straight!

Now, I'm rocking my short curly hair! Thanks Going Straight!

Meeting Jarmaine of JLovesMac1

Hey girls! I know most of you watch YouTube and are subscribed to famous beauty gurus and I am one of you! I watch videos on YouTube since I was in high school but I decided to start my own beauty channel last 2010 and it helped me grow (somehow). YouTube gives you informative videos and entertaining ones. I subscribe to channels about beauty and comedy. There was even a time when I don't watch TV anymore but I cannot skip a day without watching a YT video. You know, most of the TV programs are crap. One of my favorite YouTube stars is Jarmaine! Want to know why? Keep reading :).

Jarmaine, Jarmaine, Jarmaine! She's probably the only beauty guru that I feel so attached to. Mainly because her channel really entertains me while feeding me with my beauty needs. Her videos are hilarious but witty! I love how she throws jokes and I can really relate to her comments. Among all the beauty gurus I am subscribed to her channel is definitely on top of my list!

Here's my favorite video from her. This is her fashion tip for girls and I super duper love Janay-nay (hope I got that one correctly).

Last 2011, I got the chance to meet Charmaine of b3bedollxoxo and I also posted a video of her meet and greet. I mentioned in that video that I also want to meet Judy and Jarmaine and now it came true!

Few weeks ago, I got the chance to meet Jarmaine (angels singing now)! It was held at the Guess store in the New Glorietta 2. Remember when I went there to be part of the most number of models to walk the runway for the Guinness World Record? I was not familiar with the place though since the mall is too far from my home. I don't get to go there regularly except if I have a movie premiere to attend to and I need to pass by Glorietta Mall.

While waiting for Jarmaine, I saw some familiar faces!

Tagaytay Summer Trip with Pop Talk

Hey hey! I owe some updates to you regarding one of my amazing trips in Tagaytay. Few years ago, I discovered that Tagaytay is not just about the Picnic Grove or the People's Park in the Sky. I went sailing with my dear friends Flow Galindez, Glenn Ong, Jason Tomas and Ryan Vargas just to name a few. Tagaytay surprised me again! I'm sure not a lot of you know this but I've got some summer vacation trip ideas for you at Tagaytay. You ready? Let's go!

I was invited to be one of the guest reviewers at Pop Talk. Have you heard about this program? I bet you did! This TV show is actually one of the not-so-many shows that I'm really looking forward to every week. More than the experience of being a guest reviewer, I really (cross my heart) enjoyed our Tagaytay trip.

Destination #1: Taal Volcano's crater

IKR! Unbelievable! I never imagined to be near Taal volcano. I used to be very satisfied seeing it from People's park in the Sky. I also learned a lot of things especially the image of Taal volcano in our heads is just an itty-bitty part of the humongous crater of Taal. Gosh! The experience was priceless BUT you can also experience it. More details below.

Destination #2: Residence Inn

As a mom, this place is really for my kid but as an adult I enjoyed it too. I know I have a tendency to be a little childish at times but believe me when I say this place is awesome! When I think of Residence Inn now two things only pop in my mind - the magical show and their zip line!

The magical show is really intended for kids but what amazed me as a grown woman (Yuck! That sounds so old!) was the part where the animals are crossing the stage. They are really trained. You'll see more of this in Pop talk.

What I can't forget in this destination? I TOUCHED A TIGER! A REAL TIGER! Gosh! I almost fainted!

Destination #3: Sky Ranch

It's the newest themed park in Tagaytay. It's more than SM MOA's huge ferris wheel and more magical than Enchanted Kingdom! There's a huge ferris wheel there where you can see the entire Tagaytay and Taal volcano too!

Why more magical than Enchanted Kingdom? I curse the day I rode the Viking! It was an experience to remember but I will never be that brave again. Imagine being thrown in the air like you're committing suicide! Oh gosh! I thought I was brave enough but I was so freakin' wrong!

It was an opportunity to meet Kimpoy Feliciano and Elijah. They're so nice. Don't forget to grab a copy of Kimpoy's album under Universal Records. Go Kimpoy!

Binibining Pilipinas 2013 Fashion Show Experience

Hey girls! Who among you are into beauty pageants? I'm pretty sure that some of you are dreaming of walking the Binibining Pilipinas runway. I had the opportunity to see the Binibining Pilinas 2013 finalists do their catwalk at Araneta Center last April 11, 2013. It was another awesome event that I attended at Araneta Center! Keep reading to see photos of the finalists and Janine Tugonon and Nicole Schmitz.

In celebration of Binibining Pilipinas' 50 years of searching and representing Pinay beauty in the world, I was wow-ed by the "heritage" gowns of Pitoy Moreno worn by the 2013 finalists. From pre-Hispanic times up to modern designs, the Binibining Pilinas 2013 finalists gave life to Moreno's collection. The collection embodied the colorful history of the Philippines from golds to bright colors. There was actually one design that really got my attention. It was this gown with a dual side tail (I don't know how to describe it.) The idea of the design is one of a kind!

I was seated just in front of the stage so I got the chance to take a photo :)

JAG sponsored the ladies' casual attires. They were styled so well and it made me want to buy their outfits! Their casual outfits revealed their curves and their looooong legs!

Unfortunately, they were so FAST so I wasn't able to take good shots. The photos above were the best I got. I just wish they took the time, maybe 3 or 4 seconds posing in front so everybody can take photos :P Just saying though.

Hey girls! Have you tried playing poker before or are you a pro? I just learned this game earlier this year when my colleagues taught me how to bet and basically how to play the game. When the game of tournament poker exploded in 2003, celebrities began to take to the game. Some did so to help get their name in the public more frequently and others did so because it was a fun challenge. Many of the ladies that took to the game took a page out of the playbook of stylish poker diva Liz Lieu and tried to add a sense of style to their game. When you look good, you feel good, and you play even better and below are some of those celebrities that like to look their best at the tables.

Kara Scott

Anyone that watches poker TV knows Kara Scott. Originally born in Canada and now living in California, Scott spent several years hosting High Stakes Backgammon and other programs on UK TV. She now works as a reporter for the World Series of Poker on ESPN. Whether on camera or playing at the tables, she has a style that is both hip and classy at the same time. Whether wearing a knee high v-neck dress or standing out with her little black dress with royal blue pumps, she always turns heads.

Shannon Elizabeth

Made famous for her role in American Pie, Shannon Elizabeth has a "second career" as a part-time pro poker player. Shannon plays in events all around the world while juggling her Hollywood career. Most men would probably agree that Shannon would look good regardless of what she wore but her wardrobe is as varied as her game. Whether she shows up in an elegant red gown for the high-roller tables or shows up in a pink "girl next door" outfit, she certainly is among the best dressed at the table.

Actress and "former poker pro" Jennifer Tilly is easily one of the more fashionable celebrities that play poker. Jen can not only play, but she is actually a poker champion, winning the 2005 WSOP Ladies Championship. Jennifer is known for two things with her outfits. First, they almost always are low cut and next they are almost some variation of print patterns. Of course, if we looked like she does at 54, we'd be doing the same.

They look so stylish in those photos. Well, as for me, I only wear my comfy jeans or leggings and a shirt, maybe, when I'm playing this game with my friends :).

Style Picks: Summer Dress Styling Ideas

When it's summer, most of us will think of wearing shorts a lot! Yes, they're so comfy especially when you pair it with your favorite slippers or flat shoes. Well, shorts are not the only type of ensemble that you can wear this hot season. Dresses are also in! It can make you look so dainty, girly and comfy too!

For this week's Style Picks, I picked three dresses from Style in View. I also picked out some items in their shop just to give you an idea on how to style your dress. Excited? Here you go!

Look #1: A walk by the beach

Let me set the mood. It's twilight and you decided to stroll the beach. If you're single then you should be wearing that dress that will definitely caught all potential boyfriends' eye by the beach. Hahaha! Just kidding! This dress I picked for you will show off a little skin but is still cute and sassy for that girl-next-door look.

Look #2: Hot date

Summer is the second love season! Yes it is! Even Olivia Newton-John found her summer love, right? Of course, wearing a simple and well-styled dress outfit will really give you a boost in Cupid's world. During your date, I highly recommend wearing these pieces! It's sweet, simple yet fashionable.

Look #3: Lunch/movie date with your friends

Because school is off then you have more time bonding with your family and friends. I know how you love going out with them for a yummy lunch date or spending the afternoon at the mall before your movie night out. I sure love doing those things and because I love wearing dresses I'd probably wear something like the photo you see below.

As you can see, whatever look you choose for whatever occasion, you should never leave your house without your hat or your sunglasses for skin and eye protection.

Beating the Winter Blues

Hey girls! I know it's Summer here in the Philippines but to my friends out there in the US I know there are months when you are fighting the dreadful wind and sleet. With this in mind, wrapping up warm is essential.

Ladies’ duffle coats certainly come in handy when you’re faced with a wintery chill. Many of the more contemporary styles are slim fitting and some even have faux fur trimmed hoods – a welcome asset when braving the cold. These on-trend styles can be found at a number of highstreet and online stores, including that of Superdry from very.co.uk.

Other clothing essentials that come in handy when it’s cold outside include hooded jumpers, windcheaters, windbombers and gilets. The gilet is most definitely a winter essential but can also be worn all year round. When it’s a little warmer, simply team with a short sleeved T-shirt and when colder, layer over a hooded sweatshirt. Many of today’s gilets boast hoods complete with drawstring tighteners, which certainly come in handy when you don’t have an umbrella!

The beauty of 2013’s existing trends is the fact that they boast a range of vivid hues. Usually our winter wardrobes consist solely of blacks and greys but this year designers have predicted a little more colour – look out for shades of purple, pink, blue, orange and green.

If you think these vibrant tones might be a little too much, add a subtler hint of colour here and there with the likes of a scarf, a pair of gloves or a statement hat.

Although many of us tend to pile the layers on during the colder months, it doesn’t have to leave you looking too bulky. Jeans combined with vintage hoodies and gilets not only keep you warm, they do it in a stylish way. When the weather starts looking up a little, simply remove the gilet.

Hooded sweatshirts are a great addition to everyone’s wardrobe - both male and female. There are a number of hooded styles available, many of which come in a range of tones. This chic classic is certainly one way to add a splash of colour to an otherwise simple outfit, which in turn makes it a wardrobe staple.

Levi's 501 in Color

Hey ladies! What's up? So I'm at home right now and taking care of my sick baby. I did not go to work today and now that my son is taking his nap I decided to blog. (Flashback) My mom is fond of bringing me to the market when I was little. We buy our weekly supply of veggies, fruits and meat. Maybe because I'm a girl who'll be a mother like her, which I am now, and maybe because I'm more behave than my brother (teehee!). I remember carrying lots of plastic bags, which we got from each vendor from the market. My mom will call a kid selling bigger plastic bags and buy one so we can put everything together. There was a time when my mom used bayong but I don't like it. It feels so itchy when it touches my skin plus I get little wounds every SINGLE time!

(Present) Of course there's still plastic bags in the market but I prefer using eco bags.

Our society, nowadays, has realized the need to take care of Mother Earth. The realization was more than just what was being taught in school like keeping your candy wrappers inside your pockets and throw them when you see a trash can. Even big companies are participating in events like tree planting, cleaning the beach and educating people from the rural areas on how to preserve the beauty of our environment.

I think it was last year when I partnered with WWF for an awareness program about taking responsibility on our slowly dying environment. We had a discussion about how we can help this advocacy in our own ways. Since I am an avid shopper, I said I'm going to use eco bags. Taking care of our environment is one of my advocacies.

I recently I stumbled upon a site which offers reusable bags. It's the BagsGo. I just heard about them and I think I want to get one too.

Why am I missing

Did you miss me? I hope so because I missed you all! That's genuinely true and from the bottom of my blogging heart. I can't believe that my last post was during my mom's birthday. I can't believe that it has been that long! So, why am I missing in action?

PRIORITIES. One word explains everything. I have my priorities but don't get me wrong. This blog has been one of them but for some reason I have to sacrifice a little bit for almost a month and endure the temptation to drop everything and just blog (plus when I get the time to blog I just feel so tired and I preferred to just take some rest. You know, I'm an owl so I blog at night 'til dawn and I just can't do that lately).

I just resigned as the Digital Marketing Head of a locally-based digital advertising agency. I was there for almost three years (Was it?) and the people that I've worked with in the past has been my second, if not almost first, family. Resigning is like breaking up with your long time boyfriend. I promise! It's like that! There was even a time when I got a little teary-eyed because my best friend, Teng, played Leaving on a jetplane while I was emptying my locker, which by the way housed my trash since 2010 (harhar!). I'm a brave girl so I tried not to show the sadness but it was with me the entire night.

This is my locker and, yes, there's still branding there haha.

Brought my son with me during my last day at the office. It was his last visit there. Well not technically last but last visit as mommy's an employee.

Why did I resigned? I need to learn more and an opportunity (*coughs* like my biggest dream) knocked at my door and asked if I'm up for the challenge. With a lot of hesitations and considerations, I ended up saying, "Yes, ~~bitch~~!"

While I was away and busy with my turnovers, I have declined event invites, neglected my personal email, which resulted to hundreds of unanswered emails. I just can't sit down and do my blog routine last month...

BUT...

I was active in Instagram. I treated it as my photo blog. If you're following me then you should know what I mean. Those photos are my sneak peeks of what I'm gonna blog next. And by next I mean starting this week! I still can't promise to blog every day (again, like I used to) but I promise to give you lots of product reviews and tutorials, if I will be blessed with a lot of spare time this month.

I might be blogging 5 things in one post so I can update you of my recent buys, favorites and what not. Excited? Don't be! I might end up not doing them because I'm lazy like that. LOL! Just kidding!

I want to say hi to my on and off-cam (I mean blog) friend, Sara of I Play the Villain. I miss you so much girl and I enjoyed our Valentine's date :P.

Uniquely One Piece at Uniqlo

One Piece! Oh yeah! I just got to let out the freak in me! This is definitely one of the anime shows that made a mark in my (late) childhood. Hahaha! I stopped watching too much anime when I stepped into high school. I watch cartoons and anime shows every now and then but not as regularly as I used to when I was in grade school. I remember one day during my college days when I was bored at home and I just turned on the TV and I stumbled upon this funny anime show and from that moment I tried to catch it on TV as much as I can. Yes! One Piece's funny lines got me so gaga over the whole Straw Hat pirate thingy. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish the entire story (or was it still on-going?) but I really want to. Now that I'm a mom, I get to watch it at GMA 7 before I go to work (Yiiiikes! There goes my secret!). Not to mention that I can also wear them now! Woot! (fan mode)

Uniqlo launched their latest tee designs and it's none other than (drum rolls please) ONE PIECE! Oh yeah (round 2)! Honestly, I have no time to shop and up until now I still don't have a piece from Uniqlo but this one? Boy, oh boy! I got to have one before it gets sold out!

These shirts were launched last January 18, 2013 at SM Mall of Asia. It's available there as well as in SM North EDSA The Block. Now I have a reason to go to The Block (teehee!). These shirts retails at P790 each. Notice how I love Tony Tony Chopper? There was this one episode where he died and (believe me!) I was crying like I've known him all my life :P. Of course, I love Luffy too! ;)
