J.C. Penney's recent collection by Duro Olowu is both eclectic and timeless Duro Olowua, a Nigerian-born designer based in London, represents the company's first "seasonal designer," releasing a limited-edition collection for spring 2013. Already it is a hit with fashion experts.
"Please. Take a look at this beauty! jcpenney: Duro Olowu - coming in spring 2013! #duroforjcp" tweeted Nina Garcia of Marie Claire and "Project Runway" fame. The collection, which will retail for $10-$100, already has a built-in fan: first lady Michelle Obama. I was lucky enough to see some of the pieces during NY Fashion week and have to say that the collection was impressive.

Fashion Week was again both fun and educational. The Circa Collection showcased beautifully set gems with cascading and layering strands in muted and green colors. There's a vintage feel to jewelry this spring, and layering seems to be an increasing trend.

A recent example of this was seen on the popular daytime soap The Bold and The Beautiful. For the week of February 20th, Hope Logan was once again wearing a well styled jewelry combination, with a lovely green necklace and glittering strands of crystal and vintage style chains. I wrote to the show to find out the designer, so far no response, but I recall that the last time they responded that the jewelry was from J Crew. So I went online and, well, the jewelry worn by Hope looks very much like J Crew's.
