1. Learn all the rules...but you don't necessarily have to follow them

it's just a good idea to know why those people are giving you all those looks. but then again, who cares what they think right?

2. Dress for a purpose

whether an occasion, a goal, or simply your mood

3. You don't have to stick to just one look

4. People don't have to categorize you, you know yourself better

5. Better to be overdressed than underdressed

6. Less is less. It's easier to remove than to have to need to pile up when you have none.

7. accessories are everything. it can make or break your look.

8. if you're unhappy with your look, write down what would've made it better so you could shop for it later.

9. When buying in sales, better look for just the basics that could be worn thru the seasons. esp. if you want to avoid wearing last season's items.

10. improvise - a skirt is not always used as a skirt

11. take note of the looks that people complimented about you. it's easier to see what works for you.

12. shop even if you don't need to. i hate shopping at the last minute.

13. have the basics

- officewear, winter clothes, spring-summer clothes, party clothes

14. since i always change my mind, i'd rather stick to inexpensive clothes, then buy new clothes often, rather than wearing an old favorite over and over again.

15. when in doubt, wear one highlight item, then keep the rest simple.

16. your color scheme should match at least one of your current colors say in your printed top or accessories.

17. always keep yourself updated with the latest fashion.

18. off-season sale is the time to buy outerwear and other winter stuff.

19. window shop all the time. that way you know when something is a good catch during sales.

20. whatever you're buying, it should match at least 3 of your clothes.

21. if buying something expensive calculate how many times you would be able to wear it again to see the cost per wear.

22. make a style your own. never let other people tell you otherwise.

23. comfort is key.

24. normally casual clothes could be cheaper, but invest on classics as well.

25. every day is time to dress up.

26. if you havent worn something in months. throw it out or donate them.

27. you wear the clothes, don't let the clothes wear you.

in so doing, here's some of my wardrobe modifications to show my love for mother earth.

1. buy clothes from natural fibers

2. stop buying fur, cruelty to animals is nowhere near fashionable

3. if you can't recycle your clothes, give them away to charity or sell them to vintage shops:

a person's trash is another one's treasure

4. bring out the designer in you a la project runway, shorten a skirt, add a colar, change the sleeves...there are tons of ways to revamp your old clothes.

5. have a shopping bag with you instead of carrying those plastic bags around.

6. if you haven't worn an item for at least 3 months, it's time to move on and give them away.

7. always clean out your closet for unnecessary stuff.

8. dispose of your clothes properly, stop this nonesense of burning stuff.

9. encourage your friends to be more earth-conscious as well.

10. include your fabulous pictures of your earth-friendly clothes in your facebook or personal blog so everyone will be attuned to your agenda.
