Black will always and forever be the new black.

& I can’t give it up, I literally think I am addicted to black. It’s my security blanket. Even with the weather change, the thought of wearing neon or pastels just makes me cringe. Black is chic, it looks good on everyone, and it’s my fave color. I also like white, or black and white together. Color though, it’s just… so bright.

I made a resolution come 2013 to try to incorporate more color in my life, and if a piece came in more than one color, I’d pick anyone but black. That was a total fail real quick….

If you like colors, please don’t take offense to this post. I still wear them once in a while (except pink, never. Ick.).

Can you guys believe Summer is almost here? I seriously can’t grasp that yet. Time, once again, has passed far too quickly.

& I am not going to lie… the transition has been draining me of any fashion creativity.

I guess I have been so used to rocking flannels/leggings/leather/black/beanies that I am having a hard time adjusting. Seriously, I have been wearing flip flops way more than usual and it’s grossing me out. I don’t do flip flops. Sandals, maybe. But rubber flip flops? Who am I kidding? It’s sick.

I am now pledging, officially, to dodge flip-flops like the plague.

I love love love love “window” shopping online, sharing with my fellow lushes what’s on my ever growing wish-list, and spending a good deal of time on Photoshop creating these collages (borderline obsessed with PS).

I hate hate hate hate wanting so many damn things, having to narrow down my picks, not being able to get them all, and then worrying if I spent to much or made the wrong choices. I swear, it’s the song that never ends.

Although, I do know that when my boxes of goodies arrive at my door, I will get that shoppers high I always get, and do it all over again. Dad, if you are reading this, don’t worry. I swear I don’t have a problem………………

+ 1. I’ve been really dying to get myself a high waisted bikini for this summer!! I am not quite sure how flattering they are when you weigh more than 90 lbs, but I do love the idea of it.

+ 2. My recent project has been to give my house a little facelift. I feel like I am getting older, and it’s finally time to cash in on some nice stuff for my place. These Chevron Highball Glasses would really up the ante in my kitchen, and I could finally start to get rid of all my mismatched cups (it’s so “college apartment” of me).

+ 3. When it comes to jewelry, I am a sucker for anything that isn’t a snooze. Think head-pieces, hand-pieces, upper arm cuffs, and midi-rings (although they are getting kind of trendy these days). This Thunderstruck Slave Ring isn’t only insanely rad, but it’s like nothing I already own… which is always a good excuse to buy it. Right?

+ 4. A while back my sister read a post here about the product line Eminence. She has been ranting and raving about how great it is. Their products are all natural, have delicious names, and the reviews were through the roof. I sucked it up, as the products are kind of pricey, and made my first purchase of the Stone Crop Serum. Two days later… I swear to you… my pesky acne scars have already faded SIGNIFICANTLY and my skin is glowing again. I am hooked and I want more more more of this hungarian skincare line… more particularly I am dying to try the Clear Skin Probiotic Mask.

+ 5. Why am I so obsessed with getting cases for my phone? I just got a new one, but I am already ready to swap it out for this Cacti iPhone Case. It’s purrrrfect for Summer, and you know you need to switch your phone case each season. #TrueLifeIMakeExcusesforShopping

+ 6. Overalls are back, and I want in. Long ones remind me just a little too much of some bad fashion choices in junior high, but I’d love a pair of short overalls for rocking over a bikini at la playa or a cute loose crop top and some black leather boots. Too cute.

+ 7. I have been on a necklace kick lately, and instead of my usual long pendants, I have been opting for shorter and chunkier, all of which I layer together. This Tribal Inspired Necklace has actually already been purchased and will soon be on my neck. Can’t wait.

+ 8. Do you guys follow Target Does it Again on Insty? If not, stop reading this STAT and follow them, but come back… please. Two fashionable babes peruse their local Target on the daily, snapping shots of all the must have items. I am constantly screen-shotting their pics with things I need to own, including these perfect suede fringe booties. I am going to Target tomorrow.

+ 9. I am a sucker for a fresh looking mani, and I like to mix things up (the accent nail, FYI, is no longer cool. Sorry). This set of metallic nail studs will also soon be mine, and I am already planning what I am going to do with them. Stay tuned for pics.

I’ve got something kind of embarrassing that I need to share with you guys (in hopes that maybe some of you can relate)… I think I am getting adult acne. I never ever broke out in my teens like all my other pimply faced peers, and I thought I was pretty lucky. I got through high school without ever having to order Proactive from the catalogue like all of my other friends. It was a big accomplishment at the time.

Who knew once I hit my mid twenties I would start to get sick little breakouts on my chin and forehead. Not stoked. Plus, the fact that I am a habitual picker (not gonna lie), really doesn’t help my situation much either. When it comes to my skincare I try my best to keep it natural, if I can’t pronounce the ingredients… chances are I am not buying it. Yet, even my go-to tree tea and coconut oil combo wasn’t helping my skin issues at all.

Time to venture out a bit more into the big bad lovely world of holistic skincare. I have read somewhere that rosewater was a great product for problem skin, but it wasn’t until I saw it on the shelf at one of those fancy natural markets that I remembered I wanted to give it a go.

After just about a week of use (a spritz or 20 a day)… I am already thrilled to see my skin looks like it is on the road to recovery. & let me tell you, it’s about damn time!!

Some other awesome things rosewater is good for: 

+ It helps to tighten up your pores and will prevent wrinkles (my worst fear). It’s a natural astringent and has anti-inflammatory properties which also helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles that have already formed.

+ Rosewater can help to regulate your skins pH, meaning it will get either super dry OR super oily skin under control.

+ The antibacterial properties that occur naturally in rose petals are great for soothing the skin and getting rid of acne/blackheads.

+ Obsessed with getting super long hair. Rinsing your hair in rosewater promotes growth and heals a dry & itchy scalp.

+ After a long day of working on the computer, I often get some eye strain and a headache. Dab some rosewater around the eyes, on your temples, and on your forehead and you will have no need to pop those 3 Advil.

+ Last, but not least, it is also a great setting spray for your make-up.

Magic potion? I think so.
