Repairs by Post are a well-established watch repair business and were looking for a fresh new look for their corporate marketing material and company stationery. RPB, based in Prestwich, Manchester, hired the Fat Heads to create an array of printed material that not only would reflect their recently redeveloped website but also bring their brand up-to-date with an attractive new look.

Fat Heads were tasked with redesigning a number of Repairs by Post's marketing documents as well as a complete stationery set. This included:

Business cards
Letterhead
Compliment slip
Email signature
Postal pack
Repair completion card

The main areas of improvement were to incorporate the strong red and black colours into the design as well as introducing photography that would resonate with RPB's customer base using the company's minimalist logo to overlay and frame the images.

Fat Heads enjoyed working around the clock on this one but time flies when you're having fun!

GDI Services are online! Thanks to Fat Heads, the Manchester-based company that specialise in vehicle diagnostics have a brand new website to showcase their expertise and services.

Although the business was established in 2001, GDI Services didn't have much of an online presence and called upon Fat Heads to create a web platform that would provide customers and dealerships with information about the company and the services that they provide.

We kept the site simple and minimalist in terms of design allowing the technical images to stand out on the dark theme. The gold highlight colour was picked from the GDI's existing branding.

Fat Heads have just completed the final piece of the puzzle for a fantastic giveaway from one of the leading betting companies.

Paddy Power asked us to produce 22 illustrations and form a collage of some of football's most memorable (and hilarious) moments for 100 jigsaws that they're giving away to fans during the COVID-19 crisis.

As our portfolio proves, Fat Heads are no strangers to football-related artwork but illustrating players riding unicorns, managers going down water-slides and Geordies punching horses is a first even for us!

Fat Heads also produced the box art for the jigsaw to include a handy key to explain all 22 illustrations - not that any real football fan would need reminding.

Fat Heads are proud to launch a brand new website for Phavour - the mobile platform that connects University students with local customers.

Phavour are developing the app to showcase to Universities across the UK in order to encourage students to sign up to the brilliant concept allowing them to undertake simple paid jobs posted by anyone with a simple task to carry out. As a result the company needed a website that would act as a showcase for the product and the project.

Fat Heads were brought in to design and develop the website that features customised illustrative characters and scenes throughout the site as well as an animated promotional banner on the home page.

This week we've launched our ongoing project with Wellington Rubber Company!

Wellington is owned by J Allcock and Sons, and used to be a part of their website. Due to the ongoing success of the company they found the need to migrate to a new website just for WRC.

This is when FatHeads came in and designed and develop their website, which you can find here.

One of the things we pride ourself the most on is building strong and lasting relationships with our clients. Back in 2013 we built a website for a brand called Astra Attachment Solutions. They are the UK’s sole distributor for many of the world’s leading manufacturers of hydraulic excavator attachments.

Fatheads built Astra’s first website 7 years ago when the company was in its infancy, they helped create a professional, functional site and were great to work with.

The company later moved to Scotland, however our old friends have recently come back to Manchester, and they reached out to us to redevelop their website once more. We are really proud with the results, which you can take a look at here.

Leaving 2019 in the review mirror, there is so much we've done here at Fat Heads in the las year year to be proud of, we had fun, worked hard and we've set up great projects for the year ahead.

Last April we took some time off to attend the Manchester 95 Kits exhibition which celebrated Umbro's 95 years in business 95 shirts that showcase their influence on football over their history. Following our passion for football shirts and the meaning behind them, we attended STRIP! How Football Got Shirty exhibition at National Football Museum. At the event we sat over 200 shirts, including bona fide classics, hipster reappraisals and some spectacular own goals.

This year was also a year of wins, in December our ongoing project United We Stand, won the Football Supporters Association Fanzine of the Year Award. Our creative director, Rick, has produced the cover artwork for the fanzine since 2012.

We've worked on great new projects were we:

Designed the limited edition gig artwork for Blossoms! We did a Twitter competition to celebrate the band at their local legendary Stockport County ground. We gave away 5 limited edition posters of our artwork. We received great engagement with over 200 retweets resulting in 5 lucky winners! Here you can take a look at what we did for them!
Launched our very own Etsy shop in May where you can find our favourite designs for you to own!
Rebranded the Identity & Logo of Chancery Court Tax Chambers; along with their image treatment, print add and their brand new website!
Revamped The Events Structure's website, making it more mobile friendly, image driven and with a product comparison table that allows them to quickly analyse and compare key statistics of each exhibition trailer. We also redesigned their print ads and their product spec sheets.
Created the Cover art for the Manchester United Scandinavian Supporters Club. We made a detailed video of our design process that can be found here.
Designed the Rough Sleepers homeless map. Which is a guide for homeless people in Manchester indicating local facilities such as medical, dental etc.

Designed a free logo for sponsored bike ride from Barcelona to Manchester for St Anne's hospice in Salford to raise money for an ambulance! You can donate to further their cause here.

2020 is here and with it so many new exciting projects we can't wait to tell you more about! Looking forward, we will be:

Launching the brand new website for Astra Attachment Solutions, the UK’s largest suppliers of hydraulic excavator attachments; supplying the Demolition, Construction & Rail industries with specialised equipment for over 15 years.
Launching the Wellington Rubber Company website, they produce specific grades of Tyre Tread Buffings. Wellington is owned by J Allcock and Sons, which provides accompanying types of rubber crumbs, as well as rubber compounding chemicals and products.
Developing a web-based evaluation tool for an existing international client.
Building a website for an emerging sports media company.
Building a website to promote a work placement app for University students that helps benefit the environment.

...And because all good things come back, we are currently redeveloping an existing Manchester client’s training course booking website.

Fanzine of the Year award: United We Stand

The Football Supporters Association is the national, democratic, representative body for football supporters in England and Wales.

For the 2017-18 season, more than 366,000 votes were cast across ten categories including Men’s Player of the Year, Writer of the Year, Podcast of the Year and more.

This month Rick Baxter, our creative director received the Fanzine of the Year award on behalf of "United We Stand" fanzine. Rick has been producing the cover artwork since 2012 when he saw a request on the fanzine forum to produce some artwork for the United We Stand Summer Special. They loved it so much that they asked him to produce another one for the new season and he has not stopped since.

I was so pleased for everyone involved in the fanzine from contributors to the lads selling outside Old Trafford every game. We just missed out on the award last year so I had a good feeling that we’d win especially with it being the 30th anniversary of the fanzine."

The FSA Awards event was great. The Tower of London put on a brilliant three course meal and plenty of “refreshments”. Rick mentions that having attended the awards for the past two years he has made some brilliant connections with people involved in football at supporter level.

His favourite cover is this one. The 93-94 team was his favourite ever United team and to get the players to fit so perfectly with the original famous Lunch Atop A Skyscraper photo was a brilliant idea that he's glad came out the way it did.

According to Greater Together Manchester, the homelessness crisis is most obvious in Manchester City Centre, with people sleeping in doorways and under flyovers is a regular sight. Homelessness in Manchester City Centre has dramatically increased over the past 5 years. There are more people accessing the support offered by day services such as the Booth Centre, Mustard Tree and Cornerstone. There are also many people accessing additional outreach projects such as Coffee4Craig.

This is why we were delighted when we were commissioned to design a map of the city with useful resources for anyone in this situation.

In the map we highlight where rough sleepers can find shelter, showers, food, laundry facilities, toiletries and medical resources.

We are really proud to have been part of this project and incentivise you to find out more about what you can do to help the rough sleepers of Manchester.
