<p>I believe that most eating disorders are learned behavior. It can therefore be<br />
unlearned. By behavior I mean not only actions but thought process and attitudes<br />
as well. As with many behavioral problems, early detection often speeds up the<br />
recovery.</p>
<p>Those who admit their eating problem in the early stage and are frightened that<br />
they might continue – often are able to change their destructive eating habits<br />
with relative ease.</p>
<p>Many of the sufferers I see have already had years of individual psychotherapy.<br />
Often their therapists have focused on deep-seated underlying causes, which did<br />
not help the women with the here and now. Some sufferers have continued to feel<br />
bizarre and alone, even though they were told that their behavior was not<br />
uncommon. And there are some who never admitted to their secret eating behavior.</p>
<p>Some therapists favor group therapy but I have found that group therapy are good<br />
and helpful until only the certain stage of recovery – the stage of admitting<br />
that &#8220;Yes, I do have a problem and I do need help.&#8221; Than, to continue with<br />
treatment people should come to group therapy again and again. And here is what<br />
happens – they all become friends and get close to each other and understand<br />
each other. But to continue with the group you have be a member of it , to say<br />
another words you have to stay the same. Other ways if you recover you have to<br />
leave, but it is difficult for most of them and they prefer just stay the same.</p>
<p>While it is generally true that women in the early stages of eating disorder<br />
recover faster, two factors seem far more relevant. The first involves the level<br />
of commitment to change. Second, but of equal importance, are the strategies she<br />
employs to overcome eating disorder. What can she do in the face of anxiety?</p>
<p>What can she substitute for binge eating? If the woman can call upon more<br />
productive strategies to cope with the stresses of daily life, she is on her way<br />
to recovery. The commitment to initiate and maintain personal growth through<br />
alternative behaviors is therefore crucial.</p>
<p>The best treatment strategy, in my opinion, is when a person has a special<br />
recovery program to follow at home. But this is important to be very persistent<br />
and consistent with this kind of program so the role of therapist is actually to<br />
make sure that the patient is doing it every day and everything is clear<br />
regarding the program.</p>
<p>The best program I recommend my patients is made by Karen Phillips (the lady who<br />
treated her daughter from terrible anorexia and bulimia by herself). She wrote a<br />
book about the method &#8220;Mom Please Help.&#8221;<br />

<p>Female fat loss requires different strategies than male fat loss only because women have a tendency to gain weight in different areas than men. Most women find it hard to lose the fat around their bellies, hips and buttocks. So even when they lose weight, it might be concentrated in other areas rather than in those places.</p>
<p>Much of this is due to the fact that women give birth. When pregnant, a woman&#8217;s body changes to adapt to the baby inside her body and the changes affect her gait as well as the curvature of her spine. So, because of this, the muscles in the front of her hips get shorter, her abdominal muscles get longer, and her body changes how it uses the buttocks to walk. Even though the body returns back to normal after birth, the patterns still remain and this is what causes the weight to accumulate on the belly, hips and backsides. One way to change the pattern is to stretch the muscles that were shortened in front of the hips. You can do this with exercises like the &#8220;stomach vacuum&#8221; where you stand upright, put your hands on your hips or over your head, and then blow all the air out of your lungs. As you exhale, you want to expand your chest and bring your stomach in as far as you can. Hold it there but do not hold your breath. Pretend that you are trying to touch your navel to your backbone. Start with that and progress on to more advanced exercises as you build up strength.</p>
<p>The way that this helps you to reduce the fat in those areas is that it helps your body remember the way it used to be. The area will firm up as it does so and you will start to see a flatter appearance in your belly and a firmer appearance of your buttocks.</p>
<p>These are some female fat loss exercise tips. But in order to really eliminate the fat and keep it off, you have to learn to eat right. Eating right does not equal dieting or, especially, starving yourself. Eating right means giving your body the foods that provide energy and keep your metabolism up. Make sure you are getting all of the vitamins and minerals you need. You can get them from vegetables, fruit, lean meats, whole grain carbohydrates, eggs, nuts and non-fat or low-fat dairy products. It&#8217;s also a good idea to take an omega-3 supplement if you feel that you aren&#8217;t getting enough of that in your regular diet. Omega-3 is most prevalent in oily fish like tuna and salmon, and oils like olive oil and flaxseed oil just to name a few. Calcium is very important as well since it prevents common conditions like osteoporosis. Eating the right foods gives you the energy you need and the right fat-burning combination. While many diets and weight loss plans promote only a drastic reduction of calories or of certain foods that may work well in the short-term, if you want to lose your fat and keep it off, most experts agree that you need to eat a healthy, balanced diet and incorporate some form of exercise into your regular lifestyle. . .for good.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s obvious that if you want to lose fat, you should also eat less of the bad kinds of fatty foods. But your body does need some good fat, and if you aren&#8217;t providing that, you may actually gain weight because these kinds of fats provide<br />
energy and raise your metabolishm. Good fats are the unsaturated kind (<strong>polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats</strong>) which you can get from oily fish like salmon, sardines and tuna and from certain oils like extra virgin olive oil, flax oil, canola oil, soy oil, wheat germ oil, walnut oil and hemp seed oil.<br />
</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> The fats that you want to stay away from are saturated fats (hydrogenated fats or trans-fats) that are usually in commercial bakery products, margarine, butter, animal meats, chicken skin, lard, cheese, whole milk and whatever is made with these products like cakes, pastries, chocolate and biscuits. Besides avoiding the bad fats and getting the good ones (up to 30 percent of your calorie intake should come from these), you also want to eat fruit, vegetables, lean meat, whole grains and low-fat dairy products.</p>

<p>There are all types of strength training exercises that you can do and that don&#8217;t require equipment or a monthly gym membership. Cardio workouts also help with fat if you can sustain them for longer periods. But many people don&#8217;t have<br />

Some of them don&#8217;t even incorporate exercise and they do work. While this type of diet may be beneficial for those who need a sort of jump-start to get the weight-loss ball rolling, these types of diets cannot be sustained in the long-term. And often, as soon as you stop these types of diets, you gain back all the weight you lost and then some.<br />
</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> So, the best way to go is the slow, sure and steady route. This will not work if you are trying to lose enough weight to fit into a dress by the weekend. But this is the easiest way to lose the weight and keep it off for good. While it may take you five to ten weeks to lose ten pounds, you will continue to lose another ten pounds in five to ten more weeks, and another ten in five to ten more weeks and soon enough, everyone (including yourself) will be noticing how much better you look and feel.<br />

While some people can get away with eating a candy bar two times a day and never gain a pound, others just look at one and gain weight. This comes down to metabolism which can be affected by age, hormones and activity. In general, you want to try to get about 50 percent of your daily caloric intake from carbohydrates, about 30 percent from protein and about 20 percent from fat. Stick to fruit, vegetables, whole grains, lean red meat, while meat, and low fat dairy products.  If you stray every once in a while and have too much and/or the wrong kinds of food, it&#8217;s no big deal because you will be exercising. This does not mean that you can eat whatever you want because your are exercising though. It just means you have a little leeway. Your exercise should<br />
be consistent. Try to get in three to six &#8220;workouts&#8221; of at least 20 minutes each every week. Do not do more than you can or want to do. Find an activity that you like and can do easily and stick to it.<br />
