I watched Ishaqzaade yesterday. Can I cry and say that I am in love again *double sniff* . The movie was outstanding . It was a simple love story dealt just differently or let’s say it looks more believable.  And for people like me who have seen a bit of struggle to make their love stories come true, the movie just hits the spot. I liked the ending too but that little “gyaan” statement on the screen at the end was quite a bummer for me. I think more than the script it was the acting skills of both Parineeti and Arjun that stole the show. Boy! I really wish these two become big stars in future. Such talented young chaps! And aww! I thought Gauhar Khan was quite cute in her small role in the movie. My new favourite cheezy song is definitely “Hua Chokra Jawaan re” now. You guys must watch Ishaqzaade atleast once. Well! I think I can watch it many times.

I watched Ek Main Aur Ek Tu yesterday. Sanjeev and I watched the first half in the hall when it was released but since we couldn’t bear it beyond the interval, we left it . It was airing on TV yesterday and I had to watch the full movie. Oh dear ! I was so disappointed in the end. I totally wanted Imran ( the cute-heart that he is ) and Kareena to have “and they live happily after” THE END *sniff* What’s wrong with Karan Johor? No doubt it was a flop. (Most ) Humans are hopeless romantics at heart and we’ll give an A + to a movie only when it has a perfect (girl-meets-boy) ending. I mean when JK Rowing could change her original ending to give Happy Potter a happy ending, why couldn’t KJo do it?  Okay! Enough drama.

How do you like your romantic movies to end?

Fashion wise, there are days when I want to just throw the separates together, keep my accessories minimum and just go out for a cup of coffee. And that’s how my look defines my mood today. Loose easy asymmetric shirt, comfy trousers and relaxed clogs. Happy Me!

The Maison Boutique is holding a Trunk show at Claridges in Delhi for 3 days. I thought I’d check it out while they were still there. You Delhi girls should check it out. It was like a shopping heaven. I chose two dresses for myself. One was from Preen and other one was from Carven. I finally bought a blue carven dress mainly because it fit like a glove on my body. Totally can’t wait to show it to you all.

After a Happy Shopping stint, it was time for a hearty meal.

One of our all time favourite restaurants in Delhi is Pickwicks at The Claridges Hotel. Sanjeev and I have been there for so many dates, and celebrated birthdays & anniversaries. I think more than the food we love the ambiance there. It is an 19th Century themed restaurant inspired by Charles Dickens’ Pickwick Papers. A part of the restaurant has a sitting arrangement right next to huge bay windows. You can see the entrance of the hotel from there. Right across is a garden. There are lovely sketches on the wall inspired by pickwick papers.

Although I have to say that the Claridges does not give that uber sophisticated  5 star restaurant feel. But I guess it’s the rusticity of it that makes it different from the rest. Today, especially, the music was a bit loud and the voice of the cutlery a bit over the top. But you can’t help it since it was a peak time and way too many people loving this cozy little place.

We ordered a Tomato & mozzarella cheese salad, which is super tasty and very fresh. Very filling as well. Next was the Pesto Pasta. I didn’t enjoy it that much but Sanjeev did. I like my pastas to be a bit hot and this one was a little bland for my palate. And you have to believe this one. Sanjeev ordered Gulaab Jamun for dessert even despite my constant nagging bout trying something more sophisticated. loll!

Overall it was a hearty meal. The servers were warm and friendly. It has always been a good experience to go to Pickwicks. Today it was no different.

I don’t know if you guys knew that we had a super moon a few days back. Honestly, I din’t know what super moon except that a friend told me that on supermoon day the dead souls come alive. Apparently all the Bollywood movies are proof of that. *thank-you-very-much*! I had a sleepless night when the moon was at its glory and people were celebrating the beauty.

Anyhoo, Google Gods always come to rescue. ” A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the moon’s disk as seen from Earth”. I wore this vintage white dress today and paired it with royal blue heels for a pop of color to an otherwise plain outfit. I fell in love with this dress mainly because of the button details at the back and a soft puffy sleeves. Makes me want to go for a tea party now.

This season is big on chunky bracelets and cuffs. Starting on runways with Donna Karen, Fendi, Tommy Hilfiger, Komal Sood etc., everyone has gone all the way with big bangles and chunky bracelets. Our Indian jewellery designers such as  Suhani Pitte and Eina Aluwalia were the ones to look out for during the Lakme India fashion week. Apart from their beautiful jewellery pieces, Mesh and cut out cuffs were some of the highlights of the collection. So this season go big on those chunky cuffs , big bangles, stacked bracelets and big watches.

Sanjeev and I went to The Arte Cafe – Drawing Room at Shahpurjat today. It is a lovely frech styled cafe. Love the bright orange walls, framed photographs, freshly prepared sandwiches, strong cup of coffee and most importantly, a freindly hostess. Do visit it if you happen to visit that area.

This week started at such an awesome note. I watched Avengers, the movie. Boy! You just have to watch it. If you have particularly followed all the comic hero movies so far,  you would go heads-over-heels in love with the movie. My favourite character in the movie was Hulk.He was funny in his own way BUT you just cannot help falling in love with the Iron man . Everything in the movie was so well placed. Each character was given its share of heroic moment. Each set was created grander than the other. I don’t know if any other movie would even touch  the grandeur of Avengers . We can only wish such movies get made in India too. Hats off. 5/5 for job so well done.

I recently discovered these Dhoti pants at a designer store in Hauz Khas, Delhi and instantly fell in love these. Delhi summers totally kill you with the heat and all you seek for are such airy clothes. These pants are actually more fun to wear because they are actually like the real wrap dhoti except that it is a bit more structured and helps you find your way unlike the traditional Indian dhotis . I paired these with a crisp white shirt , a saddle bag and lots of junk jewelry. Yo Summers, lets welcome you.

It was Sanjeev’s birthday yesterday so we, along with two other friends ,went to Imperial’s San Gimignano. We have dined at 1911 restaurant before but this was our first experience at their Italian restaurant. I have to say it was perfect. The food was out of the world. The wine hit the palette just right. The service was impeccable and the company was precious. All in all we came out smiling. There was not a single thing we didn’t enjoy.

Otherwise also it was a good day yesterday. I got to see my two features in different news papers. You may check the features HERE

For the night, I wore this ombre effect teal and neon pink dress. This is by a designer from Jaipur. I found this at a boutique in Hauz Khas.The feminine flow of the dress and the little pom pom details on the sides totally took my heart away. I color blocked it and kept the accessories minimum with just a pair of statement earrings and a watch. I wanted to be easy and just enjoy the night.
