Title: Hunger Games

Reader Rating: LOVED it!

Tell us something about the book: The Capital is a very rich place and all thirteen districts are very poor. One time the thirteenth district decided to fight the capital for money and food. But the Capital won. Now the Capital to remind the other twelve districts they are all friends each year each district has to give a girl and boy to The Hunger Games where they fight to death for food and money for their district.

I liked/didn’t like the book because: I like how even though kids are killing each other they make it so it has so much suspense you don’t want to put the book down.

Author Visit with Mike Mullin!

Author Mike Mullin visited The Edge this week to talk about Taekwondo, Volcanoes and his book ASHFALL. He was here in town all day doing presentations both at Frankfort High School and here at the library. Volcanoes have never been as interesting as when Mike talks about them! He answered the questions of how Taekwondo is like writing as well as how the Yellowstone Volcano itself impacted the writing of his book.

He loved the T-Shirt the staff here in The Edge made for him!

Mike even broke bricks during his presentation! It was great!

If you haven’t had a chance to read ASHFALL yet,

you should pick it up today!

The sequel ASHEN WINTER is due out October 12th!

You would think that, considering I order them, that I wouldn’t be so excited.

What can I say, great books are great books and will always make me happy.

17yr old Jasmine Kiss is everything her father expects her to be. The last thing he expects is her taking a year off to pursue her dreams of joining a band as lead guitarist,He kicks her out and its up to Jasmine to find out if she can make it on her own w, no with no job, no place to live and no band. Everything starts to look up when she finds a great room (assuming she can convince the awesome band living in it she’s perfect for them). All she has to do is get over a case of stage fright and a maybe, she’ll make it in the band and prove to the cute bassist that she’s got what it takes.
