One researcher described this as the equivalent of “a dozen two-gallon buckets” of water.

Twenty four gallons from just one rocket? That could almost fill up a lunar jacuzzi. I can see the new spring break destination: the Moon!

Kind of excited that Wanda Sykes has her own late night talk show, I think it’s pretty funny but others are panning it. Let’s face it, even David Letterman was kind of awkward in its first season. Even with new media, how many openly gay talk show hosts are there in this world on right now? Ellen, Graham Norton, Dan Savage, Andy Cohen, us and and now Wanda. Oprah and Anderson don’t count. Should we start a club of some kind? What kind of refreshments should we serve?

Congratulations Peaches, the movie looks very promising and I’m sure we’ll love it.

Lesbian performance artist Terry Galloway is an icon in the performance world. She is modern medical accident as a result of an experimental antibiotic given to her mother which left her deaf and with poor vision. As a 10-year-old self-proclaimed “child freak,” she acted out her fury at her boxy hearing aids and Coke-bottle glasses by faking her own drowning at a camp for crippled children. Ever since, Galloway has used theater and performance to defy and transcend her reality, her queer identity, and her silent, quirky world populated by unforgettable characters.

Anger, fear, and the aftermath of a self-loathing childhood are never far from the surface of her perfomance but they are transformed by humor and become the tools of her daring break-out into a world where danger is compounded by being “deaf, weird, and a woman.”

Her largely autobiographical, side-splitting funny and shocking, “Out All Night and Lost My Shoes,” is one night only this Sunday Nov 15th at 7:30 PM at Victory Gardens Biograph Theater mainstage, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago.

Terry’s show is the first in a series of performances in Victory Garden’s “Fresh Squeezed,” a Queer Theater Spotlight followed later this season by fellow queer icons Charles Busch and Julie Halston (December 7), and Tim Miller and Holly Hughes (March 15-21, 2010).

Will Phillips, a student at West Fork School District in Washington County in Arkansas remained seated on October 5th while the rest of his class stood for the pledge. The substitute teacher tried to get Will to stand, but he wouldn’t budge. His reason: “I really don’t feel that there’s currently liberty and justice for all.”

The kid isn’t gay, his family isn’t gay, but they have gay friends and he’s been to Pride events and he recognizes that gay people are treated differently — why can’t the rest of the world see that?

Last night on Larry King Live Carrie Prejean freaked out when asked about the reasons why she quit fighting and chose to settle with the Miss California USA pageant. The controversial beauty pageant contestant well known for her infamous response to marriage equality fumed at Larry King, calling his question “inappropriate” and threatened to walk off the set.

But instead she just sat there, staring like the vacant doll she is.

The way Larry King handled the awkward situation makes you apperciate his seasoned experience in interviewing people.

Meanwhile I’ll just sit and watch her new video for Bad Romance on repeat, check it out – so hot!!!

The church was hot and muggy and Sarah was getting restless. Sarah’s mother tried to keep her engaged as the sermon was finally coming to an end. As Father Bishop stepped away from the alter, he spotted young Sarah.

Sarah’s mother perked up and sat straighter in her pew. Adjusting her hat and prodding Sarah to sit straighter, Father Bishop approached while wrapping up his sermon. Microphone in hand he came to Sarah and asked what she thought of the sermon. Occasionally he would uncover a gem of wisdom when it came from a child.

Sarah was bashful and it appeared she would need a little prompting. “What’s your name young lady?” he asked. “I’m Sarah” she responded looking at her black shoes. “Well Sarah, do you and your parents talk about coming to church?” She looked at her mom and she smiled encouragingly at her.

“Yes, they talk about it all the time” she finally answered. Feeling that he made a good choice in picking her, he ventured further. “Well can you tell me what they talked about in preparation for mass today?”

“Well mom and dad were in a hurry this morning, Dad told Mom thank you for the quickie before mass.” Father Bishop flushed, and Sarah’s mother looked like she was about to pass out. He tried to rescue the situation, so he asked “Tell me about your wonderful dress!” “Well Mom says it’s a bitch to iron, and that the old bastard better notice this time.”

Sarah looked so pleased with herself, as her mother sank as low as the pew would allow. It was a very long service after that.

The headline pretty much says it all. I can see why Fergie’s record label keeps her under tight super vision. Because if we knew how fabulous her life was, we’d kill ourselves. And who would buy her music then?

Recently I attened a music panel at the Blogworld expo where folks from her record label bragged about how they discourage their talent to twitter, because they see them as a liability to themselves. After all they are human beings just like us. Sooner or later everybody tweets their foot in their mouth. Fergie says: “Don’t Label Me!”

In the recent issue of the Advocate, musician Fergie spoke in detail about her fluid sexuality and her husband’s large endowment, as if we didn’t know already.

Two words: crazy hot. I could write jokes about him doing porn where guys get “beat up” with his “tire iron” but sadly, this is real-life violence.

I love old school rap music. Who can’t forget the intense work of Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash or Salt-n-Pepa?

I’ll always have a HUGE place in my heart for the quirky beatboxing of the Fat Boys and Tigra ‘n Bunny D (better yet) L’Trimm. For folks like me, rap music became the urban sound of the early 1980s that symbolized a huge change in music and self-expression.

On today’s show we have two fabulous artists in the house, our Chicago based dirty gay rapper, Johhny Dangerous, and UK rapper Q-Boy.

We had a lot of fun doing a show with Johnny D last month and we’re glad he was able to bring over his pal QBoy over to the studio.

Among only a few openly gay rappers in hip-hop, they are the leading faces in a new wave of music known as “homo hop”.

QBoy is visiting New York and Chicago to shoot some music videos, including one for up and coming song with his local pal Johnny Dangerous. Wait until you see some of the outtakes of the video as they lube each other up. Hot!

Q-Boy has been spreading his truth-telling lyrics of accepting yourself and celebrating joy to audiences around the world. He charms you with his message of fun and getting funky.

When he’s not busy rapping and recording music, Q-Boy does a lot of outreach work in high schools in the U.K fighting homophobia and teaching teenagers to express themselves through rap music.

CNN’s Lou Dobbs, whose been getting a ton of negative comments following his transition from being a buisness jorunalist to an outspoken hater on immgration, told viewers on Wednesday that he’s ditching his job of 30 years at CNN to “pursue new opportunities.”

Good news? Or bad news? Will we be seeing more of this guy or less of him? Who thinks Fox will give him six hours a day to rant against immigrants and demand President Obama’s birth certificate.

One of the most touching experiences of our trip to Las Vegas was meeting Joe Dugandzic and his boyfriend who make a podcast called “Nidocast.” They interviewed us for their show and at the end gave us a special present, a key to the City of Phoenix, Arizona.

We were deeply moved and excited to get a special present from Joe, and have had such a great time showing it off to all our friends!

YouTube video blogger DepFox (also known as Gay Family Values) is fighting with Davey Wavey, whom he feels isn’t doing enough to speak out against the recent election that took away the right for same-sex couples to legally wed in Maine.

The day after the November election, Davey posted his usual video where he flirts with a straight guy asking him questions about his sexuality.

According to DepFox, when he posted a comment on Davey’s page: “Dave, it would have been nice if you had posted a video about Maine.” Davey responded by deleting the comment and blocking him from posting any future comments on his YouTube channel.

DepFox added that he’s disappointed that Gay YouTube stars like GayGod, Michael Buckely haven’t talked about their disappointment over the election in Maine.

The argument is interesting because it asks of every well known gay media personality: “what have you done to advance equality?”

I argue that there are many ways to bring progress forward, and to be successful at what you do and being open about yourself is plenty. There is always more that can be done, but you can’t help others if you don’t take care of yourself.

Another interesting thing is that nowhere on either of these guy’s websites can you actually find their real names.

Some people criticize bodybuilders for having “too many muscles” but in the case of Kevin Perod, he’s just about right! Kevin’s got heat.

Besides his body, his Texas accent and adorable chin-dimple make his hotness factor go through the roof. Did I mention he’s 6 feet tall at 200 lbs?

He’s so hot, just looking at photos of him could make anyone go a little crazy.

Here’s a video of him with bodybuilder Sagi Kalev, etching him how to pose for an upcoming contest. Kevin won the first place in the “novice competition” whatever that means. He’s always got a first place in my heart.

His profile on Model Mayhem says he’s “Here for any advice, contacts, friends, anything i can get helps. Very determined, very eager.” How about easing up on the shoe polish/spray-on-tan? It’s a bit unnerving.

Officials believe that a speck of bread (originally part of a baguette deposited by a bird on a section of outdoor machinery)  eventually lead to a significant overheating in parts of the accelerator resulting in an automatic shutdown.

Its not all bad news though, the collider is still scheduled for reactivation in November.

Is the gay rights movement is in the pits? The disappointing November 2009 election left many people struggling to make sense of the narrow margin that took away the right for same-sex couples to wed in Maine.

Many folks blame President Obama and the Democratic Party for this blow to equality. Some high-profile bloggers are asking folks to stop giving money to the Democratic National Committee until we feel the love.

The bloggers aren’t asking for a boycott, just a temporary embargo until careful attention is given to their long list of grievances against the Democratic Party.

The Human Rights Campaign’s President Joe Solmonese, one of the biggest gay rights leaders in this country, recently spoke in Chicago on the progress we have made so far. He mentioned the passage of the Hate Crimes Bill and the passage of Enda through Congress as significant gains.

He also complained that the blogosphere’s timetable for change is unrealistic for the Obama administration and that we need to pull back and cut the President some slack. Joe rates Obama as President as a seven out of ten, with George W. Bush being a negative fourteen.
