The new app contains a nice actionbar, push notifications, high res images and a much more stable platform! Since then we have been working hard to make a GUI for it. It’s made with only HTML and Javascript and is available at http://build.feed.nu/. The GUI for building apps is open source and hosted on github, if you wish to improve the client code for the API you are welcome to help us improve it. The project is hosted at https://github.com/warting/Feed-Client. The wordpress plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/feed-nu/) has also been updated, from now on it’s basically a wrapper around http://build.feed.nu/.

Since everything is availible from an API and the GUI for creating apps only contains client side code we do no longer need to host a WordPress site for you on our site. This means that all blogs that are hosted at feed.nu will be migrated to use the new “cloud-service” and there blog will be deleted (unless you don’t need a blog to provide content of course!).

To use http://build.feed.nu/ you need an API key from http://api.feed.nu/

This implementation helps protect me from spammers and the new API key is a part of the upcoming version of the app.
This site will work more like a blog hosting platform and the core functionality that actually building the app has been separated to an API provided via http://mashape.com/.

We are now looking for beta testers that know how to call a JSON based rest service and maybe want to implement feed.nu into different CMS system besides WordPress.

I have improved the sync to be much more stable.

It now uses the androids build in sync manager and therefore needs access to the account manager and som extra permissions.

I’m also parsing all the feeds via google’s feed API. That means it can be some delayed before new posts shows up in the app since google is caching the request.

Please generate a new version of the app and see how it works!
