I’m very concerned about my building my credit and I was interested in applying for a credit card with a great rate and a very low spending limit. (I’m intending on just using it for gas or something and paying it off monthly) Where could I find such a deal? Any details about credit cards would be welcome.

Help! I will try my best to keep this short but you need the full story:

In June 2010 I bought a used car from a dealer. It is a 2002 plate, 120K (OK for an Audi Diesel) and was advertised at £3200. I called him to ask him if it was still available, and it was, he warned me that the electric windows were faulty and THAT’S IT! For this reason I called him back and knocked the price of the car down to £2800.

I went there and was happy with the car and bought it with my credit card. I found a problem with closing the door but apart from that – that was it.

On the way back I started to notice several problems – included door stating it was opened and wrong fuel gage reading. I was worried and took it to a main dealer to service (and check).

To my horror they found over £4000 worth of work, OK some of this was wear and tear but a lot was not.

I looked back at the paperwork and to my horror I found that he wrote “sold without warranty” AFTER I had signed it!

Alarm bells rang and I called the dealer to ask for my money back and he said it was sold without warranty!

I called my credit card company and after about 10 weeks they wrote back and said the following (in so many words):

An 8 year old car is going to have faults.
I had a chance to test drive the car and find all of the faults.
The reduction in price could have covered the faults described.

There are around 30 faults and I was advised the car ‘will’ fail it’s MOT be the main dealers – I have just read this and I don’t think I have a leg to stand on. Can any one help because I have a car outside I am not driving and can’t afford to repair

It’s beyond undo-able as to how much it costs for even basics, like food, heat, housing, gasoline, credit card interest,etc. Is there anything that can be done to lower these costs that are destroying us?
