Note: this post is intended for those who own at least one website or are into internet marketing. If that’s you, this could be one of the most important posts you’ll ever read, otherwise feel free to skip this post.

Market Samurai is quickly becoming my favorite internet marketing tool. I now use it everyday to check how well my websites are ranking and for getting ideas about new websites to create.

In the last years I’ve been using tens of different programs in my internet marketing journey, but what I like about this one is the complete set of features that it provides. But most of all, the thing that I appreciated the most is the fact that I can use Market Samurai for virtually every website that I own. For example I’m using it for checking ranking and competitions for this very blog.

If that wasn’t enough, market samurai works on all platforms.

Market Samurai Features

But what’s so special about this product that I’m even creating a resource page about it? Below is a quick list of its major features, so that you can judge for yourself:

Rank Tracker. This is a tool for checking how well you are ranking with your keywords, all in one place.
Keyword Research. After you’ve tried this keyword research tool, you’ll start to think that google keyword tool is from the paleolithic age.
Domains. This is a tool for searching new or expired domains around a particular keyword.
Monetization. Let’s say that you’re receiving traffic for a keyword but you don’t know how to monetize that traffic, this tool will find related products for you to promote. Awesome!

Market Samurai rank tracker tool

Rank tracker is a feature of Market Samurai that you can use to monitor how your websites are performing on various search engines for different keywords. The problem with doing this process manually is that google results are often personalized to your preferences so you may think you’re ranking well for a keyword when in reality you’re in the second page.

Having a tool like this it’s also a tremendous time saver. Let’s say you are checking rankings for 5 keywords in 3 different search engines. It would take a lot of time to do it manually, but with this tool the process is very quick.

Market Samurai keyword research tool

Before using Market Samurai, I used google analytics tool to do keyword research, but now that I know what I can do with this, well, I can’t think of going back anymore. Features at a glance:

Generate synonyms for a given keyword.
Add as many keywords as you like and see them all at once./
See keyword trends, seo value (this is totally awesome), competition, adwords data, and many other ranking factors, all from the same interface.

The domains tool enables you to search for domain names related to a given keyword, but it doesn’t stop there, indeed you can also use it to search from a database of expiring or for sale domains that are already ranking well for a keyword.

Market Samurai monetization tool

Sometimes you’re receiving hundred of visitors per month for a given keyword, but you don’t know how to get some money out of that traffic. Market Samurai can help you find related products via Clickbank, Amazon, Commission Junction and PayDotCom. Not only that, you can also use it to generate dynamic ads for your website. Microsoft Surface Tablet: 5 Questions

Microsoft left a lot of unanswered questions after following Apple into the tablet hardware business Monday with its new Windows 8-based Surface PCs/tablets. The software maker introduced the new family of devices during an event in Los Angeles.
Microsoft said the new Surface tablets are meant as companion hardware for Windows 8--the most dramatic overhaul of the OS since Windows 95. Company CEO Steve Ballmer said: "We wanted to give Windows 8 its own companion hardware innovation." Windows 8 is expected to be available in the fall.
The Surface brand was originally used for a tabletop touchscreen computer Microsoft launched in 2007.

Early Impressions Are Positive

Looking at the spec sheet, the new devices sound promising and early impressions are generally positive. The new tablets will come with a 10.6-inch display, a kickstand for tabletop viewing, and a super-thin keyboard case that attaches to the device with magnets.
Surface will come in two flavors: Surface with Windows RT and Surface Pro with Windows 8 Pro. Windows RT is the version of Windows 8 designed for ARM processors; it includes the new touch-friendly Metro-style interface, as well as a limited version of the traditional Windows desktop for running Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office.
Surface tablets with Windows RT will include a micros slot, USB 2.0, and a Micro HD port. The devices will weigh about 1.5 pounds and be about 0.36-inches thick. Microsoft did not say which processor the Windows RT device would have, but did say the tablets will come with your choice of 32GB or 64GB of storage.
Microsoft Surface tablet with Metro interfaceThe Surface Pro tablets will be Intel-based with access to the Metro UI as well as to the fully functional Windows desktop and will come in 64GB and 128GB versions. The tablet will have a microSDXC card slot, USB 3.0, and Mini Display Port. The Surface Pro will weigh just under two pounds and be about half-an-inch thick.
That's what we do know about Surface, but there are also a few interesting questions left to answer.

How Much Will It Cost?

Microsoft was short on details when it came to pricing the new Surface tablets. The company said the Windows RT version of Surface would cost about the same as comparable slates. Surface Pro, meanwhile, would be priced similar to comparable competitive Ultrabook PCs.
Let's assume that comparable tablets for the Windows RT version mean the market leader, Apple's iPad. So the entry-level Surface models should cost about $600 for the 32GB version and $700 for the 64GB model.
How much Surface Pro devices will cost is another issue entirely since Microsoft wants to compete with Ultrabook PCs. When Intel introduced the new class of portable laptops in spring 2011, they were supposed to be priced under $1,000. But that dream is only now becoming a reality with second-generation Ultrabooks.

Samsung Series 9Devices like the Lenovo U310 and 410 are priced at $750 and $800 respectively, Vizio just released a line of Ultrabooks that start at $900, and the base model for Sony's new Vaio T13 costs $800. Will the Surface Pro be priced under $1,000 as well, or will Microsoft reach for a higher cost similar to the Samsung Series 9 ($1,400-$1,500) or the Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A ($1,100)?

When Will It Arrive?

The Windows RT version of Surface is due to come out during the general release of Windows 8, which is expected in the fall, around October. The Surface Pro is scheduled for release about three months later, meaning in early 2013. Microsoft did not offer any specifics beyond these general time lines.

Will Microsoft Ever Give Up on the Digital Pen?

Bill Gates at the 2002 introduction of Windows Tablet PC edition with digital penMicrosoft couldn't resist giving a nod to its legacy tablets (convertible notebooks) by including digital pen functionality with the Surface Pro. But haven't consumers already spoken and said, "Thanks, but no thanks" to digital pen input technology by adopting the finger-driven iPad in droves?

What About 3G/4G Connectivity?

Microsoft didn't say whether the new Surface devices would include mobile data. Perhaps the company didn't want to discuss that issue while it works on developing carrier partnerships for its new tablets. Wi-Fi only devices are great, but many people--especially those looking at the Surface Pro for work--will want the option of a higher-priced device that comes with 3G/4G connectivity.

Automatic discovery

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Police say a Colorado woman wrapped her boyfriend's dog in packing tape and stuck the animal upside down to a refrigerator because he wouldn't get rid of it.

Abby Toll was arrested Tuesday after police say she got into a fight with her boyfriend. She was charged with felony cruelty, drug possession and other counts and is free on $12,500 bond. She has declined to comment.

Toll's 21-year-old boyfriend, Bryan Beck, faces lesser charges including a misdemeanor cruelty count.

Police say Toll, 20, used packing tape to bind the legs, snout and tail of Beck's dog, Rex, a Japanese breed called a Shiba Inu. She told police she stuck the dog to the refrigerator because she was angry Beck wanted to keep it.

Rex was taken to a shelter and will be put up for adoption.

The Passover Haggadah: Insights from Louis Finkelstein

Louis Finkelstein (1895 - 1991) taught at and eventually became the chancellor of Jewish Theological Seminary, the leading seminary of Conservative Judaism. He was a man of great influence and a shaper of Conservative Judaism in the twentieth century.

When I heard about a Haggadah from 1942 in which Finkelstein wrote an introduction, I had to get it even though it is a rare book and cost me $45 (Haggadah of Passover, trans. Maurice Samuel. New York: Hebrew Publishing Company, 1942).

Though his introduction is short, it is apt and filled with insight beyond its size. I have already quoted him many times in posts here in the past week and a half. See for example my post on March 30, “The Rabbis of the Passover Haggadah.”

Today I would like to offer a little help to those who are about to lead or participate in the Seder on Wednesday and Thursday nights. The traditional Passover Haggadah is an intellectual challenge. The following elucidations are intended to motivate you to further reading and thinking (lots of posts on Messianic Jewish Musings for the past month will get you thinking and studying as well).

Moses, Left Out of the Haggadah?
The Haggadah is not a straight telling of the Passover and Exodus story. It is a series of playful, mysterious, and deceptively profound musings on the stories of Passover in Torah and in later Judaism. Perhaps the greatest surprise is the virtual omission of Moses from the Haggadah. Finkelstein explains:

It is characteristic of Moses and of the Jewish tradition that the Passover celebration, of which he is, under God, the central figure, virtually ignores him. In the fascinating Seder ceremony, rabbis are quoted, legends and parables unfolded, interpretations of the event elaborated; Moses alone is mute. It would be absurd to suspect the writers of the Haggadah of trying to “suppress.” Actually their evasion of his name was a subtle tribute to his greatness — and an echo of his most characteristic virtue. He appears only incidentally and in one quoted verse.

But something more was meant. Moses was of those spiritual dimensions which in other traditions have invited worship. The Haggadah passes him over in order to refer to the Primal Source of all human greatness. Moses is forgotten in order than his teachings may be remembered.

On God as the Sole Savior in the Haggadah
We have already commented on the unusual passage in the Haggadah which says it was God alone, and no angel, that brought Israel out of Egypt. Biblicist Marc Brettler, as we noted, felt this was an example of the rabbis preferring one of the sources behind the Torah over another and choosing the verses which name God as the cause of death in the last plague instead of the Destroying Angel. We rejected that idea in favor of a historical consideration by Lawrence Hoffman that the real issue is combatting a charge Christianity leveled against Judaism — as Origen of Alexandria charged that Judaism was inferior to Christianity since it required second-hand mediators while Christianity had God in the flesh.

We should rightly reject an uncharitable Christian critique of Judaism. Christ is not exalted by denigrating God’s Torah or demeaning Moses.

Finkelstein comments on the theme of God as the sole savior in the Haggadah:

The whole of the Passover Haggadah is pervaded by this motif of God as man’s sole savior and hope. It begins appropriately with a slightly altered form of the verse in Deut. 6:21, stating that “we were Pharaoh’s bondmen in Egypt, and the Lord our God brought us forth from there, with a strong hand and a mighty arm.” It proceeds to describe the manner of Israel’s descent into Egypt, as part of the Divine plan for the dedication of Israel to him, as bearers of his teaching. It culminates in a blessing to God for having redeemed Israel from bondage, and a prayer that he might bring about the final restoration of his temple in Jerusalem, as a source of joy and inspiration, to us, and to all mankind.

On the Haggadah as a Lesson
We have noted again and again that the Haggadah is designed to be intriguing. It is not a simple telling of a story. Finkelstein says it well:

Because Jewish tradition holds that God must be worshiped not only through Jewish prayer, but in an equal degree through study and learning, the Passover celebration is arranged primarily as a lesson, in which are mingled Jewish history, literature, and religion. Regarded as a means of instruction, it is the oldest, and — judging objectively from results — probably the most effective pedagogic instrument ever devised.
