ICC World Twenty20 2012 FIXTURE AND VENUE

The 2012 ICC World Twenty20 will be the fourth ICC World Twenty20 competition, an international Twenty20 cricket tournament that will be held in Sri Lanka between September 18 and October 7, 2012^[2]. The schedule has been posted by ICC . This will be the first World Twenty20 tournament held in an Asian country, the last three being held in South Africa, England and the West Indies respectively.The format will see four groups of three in a preliminary round. India and England are in the same group and will be joined by one of the Associate or Affiliate teams that qualify. The other qualifying team will be in a group with West Indies and Australia. Sri Lanka, South Africa and Zimbabwe, and Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh are the other two groups.^[3] Match fixtures were announced on 21 September 2011 by ICC

*If a team ranked third in the starting groups qualifies for the Super Eight, it will adopt the seeding code of the team they have replaced – e.g. if Q2 qualify at England’s expense in second place after the group stage, they would be A1 and India still A2.

HOW TO SELECT A PDB FILE FOR DOCKING

Selection of proein structure form RCSB protein data bank is an important step in molecular docking process.There are more than 76003 Structures are available ,you can download the protein structure of your interest from the website http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/home/home.do .first you have to check whether the 3D structure of the corresponding target has been deposited or not ,if not the 3D structure of the target protein is constructed through homology modelling.While selecting any structure from PDB the following things should keep in mind .

The structure available is a co crystallized with a drug , which is the appropriate starting process for the docking.
If the structure of the protein doesnt contain a native ligand (drug),then the binding site has to be identified wih appropriate software (blind docking using autodock will work) then docking has to be progressed with
Co-relation of docking results will be good if protein structure source and expression is Homo sapiens
Take those protein structures which are having resolution less than 2.5 angstrom.
The R value should be as close to zero.
The R free value should be close to R value.

NEEM OIL EMULSION

This is highly effective against the instects which attacks the tender leaf and stem of the plants .

Method of preparation

Ingredients

Neem oil: 1 Lit

Laundry soap : 60 gm

Procedure

Boil about 500 ml of water add laundry soap and stir well until the soap dissolves.Add 1 lit of neem oil and stir well until it forms an emulsion.It should be diluted with water in the ratio 1:4 and spray on the plants with a sprayer.

TOBACCO SOAP SOLUTION

Aphids are among the most destructive insect pests on cultivated plants in temperate regions.This solution is highly effective against these Aphids.It is also active against most of the insects attacking the plants.It is one of the best and easy to make herbal insecticide. It can be made in home with some easily available reagent like tobacco, laundry soap etc.In malayalam it is known as pukayila kashayam(pukayila means tobacco )

Method of preparation of PUKAYILA KASHAYAM

Ingredients

Raw tobacco: 500 gm

Laundry soap (finely choped) : 120 gm

Procedure

Chop the tobacco into small size and put it in 4.5 lit of warm water and keep it for one day (maceration).filter the solution and remove the solid tobacco parts .Take 120 gm of laundry soap and dissolve it in small quantity of warm water and stirr well until it froths.add this soap solution to the tobacco extract and mix well .It is then diluted 6-7 times with water and spray on the plants .better results are observed if sprayed in morning.

NB: Quantities of the ingredients can be varied according to the requierd volume.

Gelatin stick also known as gelignite, was invented by Nobel in 1875, it is a mixture of nitroglycerine or nitrocellulose, wood pulp, and sodium or potassium nitrates which is gelatinised using gelatin. This was an early low-cost, flexible explosive.Chemically it is known as trinitroglycerin, trinitroglycerine, 1,2,3-trinitroxypropane and glyceryl trinitrate, is a heavy, colorless, oily, explosive liquid produced by nitrating glycerol.

Gelatin dynamite comprises nitrocotton and nitroglycerin combines to provide a viscous liquid or gelatinous mass and subdivided solid materials which are insoluble in the nitroglycerin.

What is endosulfan ? Endosulfan is an off-patent organochlorine insecticide and acaricide This colourless solid has emerged as a highly controversial agrichemical.The IUPAC name for endosulfan is 6,7,8,9,10,10-hexachloro-1,5,5a,6,9,9a-hexahydro-6,9-methano-2,4,3-benzodioxathiepin-3-oxide

Endosulfan is a 7:3 mixture of stereoisomers designated α and β. α- and β-endosulfan are conformational isomers arising from the pyramidal stereochemistry of sulfur. α-Endosulfan is the more thermodynamically stable of the two, thus β-endosulfan irreversibly converts to the α form, although the conversion is slow.

CHEMICAL SYNTHESIS OF ENDOSULFAN

How endosulfan is synthesized ? Endosulfan synthesis involves following steps: It is produced by the Diels-alder reaction Diels-Alder addition of hexachloro-cyclo-pentadiene and cis-butene-1,4-diol in xylene. Subsequently the adduct is hydrolysed to form the cis-diol or di-alcohol. Reaction of this cis-dol with thionyl chloride forms the final product.

Comparison between HPTLC AND HPLC

HPLC is not convinent when a sample contain a large number of compounds ,since it requires a large number of mobile phase for their separation, it becomes incontinent and costly

In HPLC a solute is eluted out along the solvent and causing interference with the detection of the solute,In HPTLC solvent is evaporated before detection and so there is no interference with solvent

HPLC columns are costly .HPTLC plates are cheap when compared to HPLC coumn

Very low eluting compounds spoil the costly column in HPLC ,no such danger in HPTLC

In HPLC very small sample volume can be applied when compared to HPLC

Both in HPLC and HPTLC quantification is possible

HPLC can be connected to Mass spectrometer

Less time for method development when compared with HPLC

HPTLC enables visual observation of separated spots.this permits rapid screening

IN HPLC column is used for long time for analogue of many sample because of this sample are retained and accumulated in column and may alter its character.TLC plates are disposible

TREASURE FOUND IN SRI PADMANABHASWAMY TEMPLE

Sri padmanabhaswamy temple is one of the famous temple in Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu bhagwan . The principal deity, Padmanabhaswamy is enshrined in the "Ananta-sayanam" posture (in the eternal sleep of Yoga-nidra on the serpent Ananta).This got world wide attention recent times The temple is now considered wealthier than the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh – by official records considered to be the richest shrine in India.due to the the treasure found inside the temple.It is located within eastfort near to KSRTC (Kerala state road transport corporation) bus stand This revelation has solidified the status of the Padmanabhaswamy temple as one of the wealthiest temples in India and with the final estimate of the wealth, it might overtake the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple

It is thought to be the wealthiest temple—having some Rs 320 billion (US$7.14 billion) in gold, coins and other treasures(nidhi) It is estimated that the value of the monumental items is close to Rs1 trillion (US$22.3 billion), making it the richest temple in the world. If the antique value is taken into account, this treasure will be worth 10 times the current market price.

The temple has 6 vaults (Kallaras), labeled as A to F for book keeping purpose by the Court, that are hidden under the sanctum sanctorum. While vaults A and B have been unopened over the past 130 years, vaults C to F have been opened from time to time. The two priests of the temple, the 'Periya Nambi' and the 'Thekkedom Nambi', are the custodians of the four vaults, C to F, which are opened periodically. The Supreme Court had directed that "the existing practices, procedures and rituals" of the temple be followed while opening vaults C to F and using the articles inside. Vaults A and B shall be opened only for the purpose of making an inventory of the articles and then closed.

Family members of the Travancore Royal family had approached the SC urging that media and the panel should be restricted from publishing details of the temple assets.supreme court appoints a five member panel for the proper functioning of temple.
