Q. Viber Invalid Code Error - Common for all mobiles ?
Ans. If you are getting the error that the activation code is invalid, then you will have to wait for some time and then re-enter the code. If it still fails to work then we would suggest you to wait for a day and install the Viber again (reinstall) and receive a new SMS code.

If it still fails to work (and keep failing), then just follow the procedure described in step 1 (fail to get activation code). You may try to register to Viber with a different number (for example - your home landline number, a friend's number, etc.), in order to determine whether the problem is specific with your number, or a general one.

This is similar to using proxy. It will fool them and will be like as if you were from USA or any other working country(for iPhone use proxy settings). Also make sure to use the method described in step1 (receiving phone call and activating).

In this post, I have tried to compare the two voip services (and the future prospects of two) - Skype Vs Viber. However, here I have just looked at the points because of which I feel that Viber is better than Skype. There are some features of Skype which are unique to it and not present in Viber. 1. Download and Use - No username required

This is the main reason I love Viber. Just download the application to your mobile phone and your mobile number becomes your username. No signup required. With Skype you need to create a user account.

2. Viber Contacts Easily Visible - Who's Online

Since Viber does not require username, it simply scans your phone address book looking for phone numbers. So any of your friend who is using Viber will be visible to you (and you will also know who's online With Skype you need to add contacts - for that you need to know your friends Skype username.

3. Viber Runs in background

One of the coolest feature of Viber app is that it works in the background and does not have to be running in order to work. So even if you have not opened the Viber app, you can still receive calls on it. Skype on the other hand requires that you logon into the app before you can make/receive calls.

4. Viber Emoticons

Viber has a good range of emoticons which are quite vibrant and dynamic. I would say these are better than what Skype offers (but yes not as good as Whatsapp).

Viber is a free application available for almost all the platforms. This app has been downloaded for more than 200 millions times and is being called Skype Killer. Viber now offers its free application for iOS Platform (iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch), Android Mobiles, Windows based mobiles, Blackberry OS, Nokia Symbian, Bada mobiles and now it offers PC app as well. Viber offers free calls and multi media messages between two viber users (doesn't matter on which device you are using this app).

Not only is the Viber application free, but it does not even charges for calls and text messages. Infact its PC application offers video calls which are also free. That's not all Viber does not even show any ads on its app, so no advertisement revenue. The question is if everything is free and not even powered by ads so how does it make money, what exactly is Viber's business model. Before we go into the details about its business model, lets see what is it costs (expenses).

Calls are made using internet connection (does not require any kind of hardware infrastructure), so these can be free.
Viber is simply a software developed by a team - this effectively means team salary cost, research cost, marketing cost and many other expenses. This may seem less but trust me it is a good amount of money. Effectively its like running a product based software company.

Its all upto Viber to decide what their next step would be to generate money.

Status of Tango App for Nokia Symbian Mobiles Phones

You can't expect everyone to instantly switch to Android or Windows platform. There are still quite a good number of Nokia Symbian mobile users. Infact the Nokia mobile boasting about Pureview 41Mp camera is itself based on Symbian Belle (its a great phone, only concern is its Symbian). And many of these Nokia phone's allow video calling facility (they are having a secondary front facing camera). So do these Nokia mobile users (even after having front camera camera and high speed internet on mobile), really enjoy video calling on their phones.

Apart from above two said items, what you additionally require in your mobile is Video Calling application. From the latest updates (whatever the reasons are), it seems that Tango is not coming with any application support for Symbian mobile phones. I guess at least they should have cared to inform the people why they have decided to take this decision. Moreover if there are any plans to support this in future (I mean people are eagerly waiting).

1. Click the magic wand icon at upper right and select "Web WeChat".
2. Click "Start"
3. Open the browser and open web.wechat.com
4. Scan the QR Code that shows up when you open your PC browser to web.wechat.com, then select "OK".

Once you are on Web WeChat, you can continue chatting with friends on your browser. It is like accessing your phone WeChat account on your computer (simply assume that you have a phone on your screen). It works pretty great.

The main advantage of using this feature is ease of use. It is quite easy to chat with friends (type) on computer than your computer. We have seen in the past that people crave about using Whatsapp on computer. They do not have any PC application nor do they support such a web chat feature. How to Cancel Skype Subscription and Get Refund

It is a well known fact that Skype is the leader in voip industry. It has probably maximum numbers of users (comparing to other voip services). But I believe a large part of those users stick to free Skype services like video calling to other skype users. If you want to make international calls to normal mobile or landline phone's, then you would have to shell out some money. For users looking for unlimited calls to a particular country (or a set of countries), Skype offers some unlimited subscription plans.

If you choose this subscription plan (any package), then you will be charged on monthly basis. You may consider it good or bad, but for your monthly subscription you can be charged automatically (from your registered credit card). Sometimes what happens is that you don't actually use the service, however you are still charged. Infact some people have complained about being charged for whole three months in advance.

Many people have asked us about cancelling your subscription plan and getting a refund from Skype. Today we will post a step by step tutorial (information guide), on how you can cancel your monthly subscription plan with Skype so that you are no longer charged by them.

Good thing is that even though your subscription has been cancelled, you are allowed to use the remaining minutes until they expire.

Cancel Skype Subscription | Cancel Recurring Payments

- Login to your Skype account on your computer
- Click Skype above (at the top) and choose Account.
- Once the account window opens up on screen, choose the subscription feature (which you wish you cancel).
- Check your subscription plans and see if its correct. Now click settings there.
- Select Cancel Subscription
- Keep on confirming for cancellation of your subscription.
- You will receive a confirmation mail from Skype about the cancellation.

Though we not recommend that you stop your subscription with Skype (as it is a really a good service), but anyways the cancellation thing is also quite easy.

Getting Refund with Skype

You can ask for a refund of your Skype Credit within 15 days from its purchase, but only if you haven’t used it. You can ask for a refund of your subscription if you haven’t used it and it hasn’t expired.

Click this link, enter your Skype Name and password, then click Sign me in.
Select the help topic Payments and the related problem Refund requests.
At the bottom of the page, click Continue support request.
Select how you’d like to contact : Email support or Chat support.
If you click Send an email, enter your details (include skype username and NOT password) and describe your problem, then click Send support request.
If you click Start a chat, enter your Skype Name and email address, select the general topic you need help with, then choose the type of problem you have. Click Start Chat to talk to one of our support representatives.

If you wish to cancel your Skype account completely (delete your account), then you will have to contact the Skype customer support. However again it is not needed (as Skype to Skype are always free).

If you are facing problem and difficulty in getting a refund from Skype, then please let us know.
If you have already mailed Skype support asking for refund and have not yet got (and its been more than 15 days), then we would suggest that you contact them on their Facebook page as well.

Hike Vs Whatsapp Application : Which is a better option ?

If you are having any smartphone, then you must have tried atleast one instant messaging (sms via internet) application. The most popular ones among a list of apps are Whatsapp, Viber, WeChat and now Hike as well (which is a recently launched app). Though Hike was launched recently but it has been most downloaded apps in past few months and it being considered as next big thing in field of voip.

Comparisons are done all over internet and Hike is being considered as perfect Whatsapp alternative. We have used both the application personally and then decided to compare the two evaluating them on various necessary (and useful add on features). Offcourse you can install and use both the application on your mobile, but with time one app will surely become your preferred choice (and other will get neglected). I mean we have so many social networking websites, but it is only Facebook which is a clear winner (twitter is also there but FB is way ahead).

Avialability

Whatsapp is available for Android, iPhone, Nokia S40, Symbian Phones, Windows phone and people can even use it on PC and iPad as well.. In short it is available for almost all the gadgets.

Hike App is quite new (launched just few months back). It is currently available for Apple iPhone, Android Mobiles, Windows based phones (Lumia series etc) and Nokia Symbian phones. It is currently not available for Blackberry phones.

Installation and Ease of use

Whatsapp is quite easy to install. It does not require to create any usernames or select passwords and pins. It is simple app which couples with your mobile number. It simply checks the friends on your address book and shows list of people using whatsapp. It has a very clean and easy to use interface.

Hike probably understood that its good to keep things simple. Similar to whatsapp, it also does not require any username or password. It also couples with mobile number and scan your address book to search for Hike contacts. Good thing is it also shows other friends (non Hike) and allows you to send free sms to them as explained below. I will probably give both a plus one on this aspect.

SMS : Instant Messaging

Whatsapp is no doubt most used application now for sending text message, pictures and videos. It has been used by almost all smartphone users. However that does not make it the best app. Though it allows you to send the message to other whatsapp users for free, however you cannot send message to non whatsapp users.

Hike on the other hand, not only allows people to send free text message, pictures and videos to other Hike users, but you can send the sms to other non hike users as well. It gives free 100 message (India only) per month which can be utilized to send message to non hike users. Good thing is you can include such users in group chat as well.

Innovation : Future Updates

Whatsapp has been in the market for quite a long time now and it has understood what market needs (And what market can except and enjoy). But the thing is they have been quite the same from day 1. They offer free text message to other whatsapp users and that's it! It has been same till now, nothing new. They need to bring something new every now and then, otherwise people will get bored.

Hike has been in the market for just few months and man they are full of new things and ideas. It seems they have surveyed the market very nicely and exactly understand whats customer needs. They keep bringing new offers which actually attract people to join them. Their free recharge program was a big hit! Keep up the good work guys. And now their Hike2Post thing is pretty amazing (it allows you to send free pictures, videos as post to anyone in India).

Cost of Application

Whatsapp is a paid application on iPhone. On Android Mobile it was offered for free (for an year) and after that they were expected to charge some money. However for most people they extended the free service for one more year. Still, Whatsapp is being considered as a paid application (though cheap but still not free).

Hike is a FREE App till now and lets say it will remain so. Currently they do not have any plan to make this application a paid one (how are they earning money ??)

Overall both the apps are good. Considering Whatsapp already has a good customer base, it will be difficult for Hike to reach that number of users (may it will take some time). However Hike is certainly a very good application and its a must try from our side.

Hike2Post : Send Free Post, Pictures, Videos to Anywhere in India (From Mobile)

Few days back we discussed about Hike Messenger application, its a multi platform instant messaging application (though quite similar to Whatsapp but much better) available for lot of devices. Started with the aim to provide connectivity to people, Hike Messenger App created a lot of hype among smartphone users. It is very very popular among Indian smartphone users as lot of its features are dedicated for Indian mobile users.

My Review

I tried this application on my Galaxy and trust me I have started liking this application. The download procedure went pretty smooth and it was ready to use within few seconds (though I didn't like asking me to invite friends at the first time I started using it). Once logged in, I was surprised that many of my friends are already using Hike (it automatically shows list of friends using Hike).

It is just like using SMS messaging application built in your mobile. I found it pretty easy to use application and good thing is its very stable.

Making a group chat was so damn easy and it also shows (by varying colors) which friend are on Hike and which are not. But it does not matter because you can still include them on Group chat.

Hike Free SMS to Non Hike Members

Hike offers free 100 SMS per month (refills every 1st of month) which can be sent to mobile in India. This is a very useful feature and I kinda love this. I tried sending free sms to a friends mobile (who is not using Hike), good thing is these are also listed in friends list so sending message is easy (with the color you know they are not on Hike). Anyways I sent the SMS and it was received within seconds. It worked and it works pretty fast.

Hike included "Sent from Hike .. Download Hike from here .." in the message, but that's okay as long as it is free.

Chat for Google Talk on iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch : Messgaing App

Instant messaging will never loose its charm. We all spend a good amount of time chatting with friends. When we talk about chatting application, Gmail Chat or Google Talk is the one which comes to our mind. Google Talk is most used chatting application on computers. I mean gone are days of Yahoo Messenger, now we all use Google Talk (or gmail chat).

But what about chatting with friends from your mobiles or tablets (specially iPhone, iPad). Offcourse you can use applications like Whatsapp on your mobile for chatting with friends also using Whatsapp. But what we are looking for is a software for chatting with Google buddies. That is you can use Google Talk application on your iPhone or iPad or iPod Touch and you can chat with your buddies using Gtalk on computer or mobile (android or iOS device).

Recently an app named "Chat for Google Talk" has made it to top list of apps for iPad. Though it is not the official application by Google (for chatting), but it is a similar application which can be used to chat with gtalk friends. Its an app by iLegendSoft.

You won't find any official Gtalk app for iPad, so many companies offer similar apps. Another similar application named "Vtok : Gtalk for iPad" is highly popular. Infact you can video chat using Vtok. Good thing is it Gmail Voice and video chat is available for android mobiles.

Coming back to this new application "Chat for Google Talk", I downloaded this app on my iPad. Well the download was smooth (its just 21 MB application).

- Chat history : The app saves chat history in the app and you can view/remove the same at any time
- Auto sign in to the app

I myself tried this app but found this app very simple. You can create groups and all but still all very basic and nothing extra ordinary. Moreover it does not support voice and video chat, plus emoticons (Smileys) are so less in number. Not sure why is this app in top charts in Social Messaging section.

Whatsapp is a multi platform text messenger application available for all the devices now. For me it has replaced my telecom sms (which is saving me big bucks) and I use it almost all the time. For blackberry users, it has replaced their BB messenger service and people prefer Whatsapp instead of Blackberry Messenger (probably the reason is that they can chat with non blackberry users as well). Be it Android, iPhone, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Nokia or even PC, Whatsapp is used on all devices and almost by everyone using smartphone and has access to internet on mobile.

What actually keep up busy is Group Chatting in Whatsapp Messenger. You can easily create a group of friends (Assign it a name) and send message to all of them in one go. People in the group can chat with each other and its visible to only the group members. Group Chat in Whatsapp is quite similar to what we have in our Gmail Chat client. You can create as many groups as you like and your friends can also add you to various groups.

Whatsapp Group Chat Mute

This is another very interesting feature of Group Chat. At times what happens is that people on the group are very active and keep sending messages. This may get annoying for other people in the group. What you can do is mute it say for 8 hours. So for next 8 hours, though you will receive message but it will not make any sound.

How it is different from turning whatsapp notifications off ?
The difference is that when you put the group chat as mute, it won`t make any sound when you get a new message, but it will show the notification in your phone, or it may vibrate. If you place it as notifications off, then you won`t receive anything, no sound, no vibrate, no notification at all.

How to Change owner of Whatsapp Group Chat

If you are the owner of the group and delete it, another group member is randomly designated as the new owner of the group. Now the new owner can add you again as a group member. But what if you want to select a particular person to be owner of the group and not to be selected randomly. Probably this is not possible now and it is random!

Other interesting facts and tips about Whatsapp Group Chat

- Group owner (person who started this group) has the rights to remove a particular person from the group. In the group chat, go to group info, simply tap the person and select remove. This is also known as "Kick out a person from Group Chat".
- Only the group owner can add members to the group chat. If you were previously the group owner, a new owner was assigned when you left the group. Please ask the group owner to add you back to the group.
- Whatsapp Group Chat has a limit of 30 people. That is no more than 30 people can chat in a same group.
- You can delete a specific message from Whatsapp Group Chat. For that, simply tap the message and select "delete message". Please note that the message will be deleted only from your message history and other people in the group can still see the message.
- Anyone in the group has the power to change group icon and group name.
- You can add Emoticons to Group Name as well.
- You can change the wallpaper of Whatsapp Group Chat as well... Tap left button and select Wallpaper. Now you can choose wallpaper of your choice. Basically wallpaper will get changed for all the chats.

Q. Not able to verify the app on PC.
A. It simply means that your phone number is not properly verified in Tango system and you will not be able to make or receive calls on your PC. To resolve this issue, please try these steps:
1. Ensure that you are connected to the internet.
2. Open Tango, Submit your registration information and click on Send Code. This should send your updated registration information to servers, and you should soon receive a validation code on your mobile device.
3. Once you have received the verification code, enter it on your PC and tap Submit.
4. If you are unable to receive the verification message you can click Resend Verification Code. If you are still unable to receive the code, you can click Resend code using SMS.

Q. Not able to get Tango install on my PC.
A. Please make sure that your PC supports the above said configuration (system requirements). Also make sure that your windows is fully updated. Whatsapp Emoticons Meaning : What do they say ?

Smileys or emoticons are a great way to express yourself. Sometime it is easy to convey message via a picture (or emoticon) than actually saying or writing the text. When it comes to whatsapp, this application has a whole bunch of smileys. These are much higher than what we are used to Skype or regular messages. Whether it is whatsapp application for Android, iPhone, Blackberry, Windows or Nokia all of them have a huge list of emoticons. These are by default available and you need not to use any kind of trick (not like hidden skype smileys).

The only problems is that these are so high in number, that sometimes it is difficult to select a proper emoticon while chatting. Most of times, I am not aware of meaning of the emoticon sent to me. We have tried to explain these smileys for whatsapp. What we have done is captured the whole list of these emoticons in images and we have tried to explain the whole set (one image).

I hope you understand that it is not possible to explain all the smileys in a single post, simply because these are so high in numbers. Using these smiley is quite easy. In the chat whatsapp chat window, select the smiley image and these will get displayed. You can navigate to a particular category and select a particular emoticon.

Problems with Windows Mobile : Why not to choose this Operating System

If you are having problems with your current operating system (in your mobile) and planning to make a switch to a more enhanced operating system (and so called cool OS), then need not to worry. We already have so many different mobile operating systems in the market. We have Apple iOS is well known for its stability, Android quite popular for its creativity, Blackberry phones (aka business phones), Windows Based Mobiles, Symbian OS, Samsung Bada OS or other custom operating systems.

Selecting and zeroing on a particular operating system (for that matter a mobile phone) is a very difficult choice. Each of the above has its own pros and cons, but then we do have to make a choice. The web is full of information praising the different operating systems, but very less people present the information in opposite way. Its better to look what problems will you face if you go ahead and buy a particular mobile. Will these issue's affect you in any way (if the answer is No, then go ahead and buy that phone).

If you are planning to buy a windows based mobile (viz.. Nokia Lumia 510, 610, 710, 810, 900) or any other, then you should read the post below. We will discuss some of the problems that you have face with windows os (7.8 or 8.0) if you buy them (or the issue's which people are already facing).

Windows Phones have very less Apps available : Its the most obvious and well known problem that windows based mobiles are facing. Windows Phone needs more apps in every genre, be it games, utility, entertainment. Though most of the basic apps like Facebook, Search, Browser, Music, Few games are available, but it way way less than what android or iOS offers. Microsoft needs to involve more and more developers and give them incentive so that they develop new apps.

No Custom UI, Only Tile Tile Tile : No doubt the tile theme looks good on your mobile screen, but that does not mean I have to stick with it. Some apps like Pictures make good use of this tile thing, but for most of the apps, it is just icons placed at the top screen. Android User Interface (in terms of looks) is way better. But I guess it is only the simple tile thing which makes it so easy to use.

Why is not Skype tightly integrated with Microsoft Windows OS : I mean Skype is just another application on windows mobile. When Skype is owned by Microsoft and its there own operating system, why can't they work on it and provide a good and better video calling experience. If its Facetime for Apple, why can't Skype be for Windows (I am not saying that Skype should be stopped for other OS).

Google Sync Issues with Windows Mobile : Check this support page for details. It turns out that there are many things like syncing Google Calender which have problems with windows mobile phones. Though it is being worked upon, but still its in beta phase.

Windows Phones also Hangs : Yup depending upon the phone hardware you are using, it sometimes becomes unresponsive (or crashes or hangs). Some of the common solution is to restart your phone, or restore to factory settings etc. Check this page for details on this.

Samsung Vs Apple : Which is better and Attracting more customers

If we think of buying a new smartphone, what comes to our mind are just two choices Apple or Samsung. Few years back when the smartphones were not popular, Nokia was the clear market leader and people just loved it. But now thing have changed so much, specially after the arrival of iPhone's and Android mobiles. There is no doubt that Apple has been the innovative leader and almost all of its devices have been revolutionary.

Apple iPhone's completely changed the way of using mobile phones. It was no longer a simple calling device but much much more. Apple Store (Application market) was soon filled with apps and people loved them. However it was only after the arrival of Android based mobiles, that smartphone's market share went high. Though there are so many mobile companies offering android based mobiles, but it is only Samsung (and galaxy range of mobiles) which has made quite a buzz. And now it is either iOS or Android (Apple or Samsung).

The question "Which is better : Is it Apple or is it Samsung" is now being asked by so many. After the arrival of iPhone5 and Samsung Galaxy S4 the question makes more sense. I am myself confused, whether I should buy an iPhone5 or the super cool Samsung Galaxy S4.

It was just the right time when we were contacted by Allison Morris from MbaOnline. She provided us an info graphic on Samsung Apple Competition. She has captured the information in quite a unique way and looked at the competition with a different perspective.

The facts in this image are quite interesting Amazingly Samsung revenue was more than Apple (in the year 2012). But because of more employees and expense, Samsung made less profit than Apple. The number of phones sold by Samsung is again quite higher than Apple iPhone's. I would say iPhone range is just basically a single phone (always the latest iPhone), however with Samsung it is complete range in galaxy mobiles (varying in features and price).

My vote also goes to Samsung!
