HECTIC, mita sneakers and New Balance have altogether worked on 18th versions of the MT580 sneaker.  This version, like all the other MT580’s,  features a flag lace lock while coming in a dark grey colorway. The upper is made of dark grey suede and black leather, highlights being set by the yellow laces and red/black New Balance logo. One side of the sneaker also features a white leather panel. The sneaker will be released at mita on January 2nd.

Nike Sportswear take the time to chop it up with UNDFTD’s Eddie Cruz, designer behind this recently released Nike AF1 HI Supreme West Edition as part of the broader Rivals Pack. Cruz goes into his whole process of design and inspiration which encompasses a lot of hands on approaches. His AF1 HI is inspired by both the strong legacy of professional sports franchises on the West Coast as well as women’s high fashion as suggested by the gray python embossed suede. I like being introduced to labels that I am other unfamiliar with. Hixsept is one of them, and today I got a chance to see their spring 2010 collection. The designers of the collection are Aurélien Arbet and Jérémie Egry and their latest collection was inspired by the idea of emptiness, water and drifting. Arbet and Egry found movement in the way of lines and the draping of fabric. The result is a collection that features minimalistic tendencies with well implemented details.

As I said before, I think that Blitzen won the battle with Santa Claus. In this latest edition, Kobe, Santa Clause and Lebron take on Blitzen and the rest of the Reindeer in a 3 on 3 basketball game. Santa (KRS One) provides us with a running commentary of the game.

One of our favorite DC stores Commonwealth and The Clipse collaborated on two tee shirts to celebrate the release of Til The Casket Drops. One shirt features a funeral flower arrangement in the form of The Clipse’s shield logo with Commonwealth branding on the back of the t-shirt. The other shirt depicts a graphic which obviously draws inspiration from the  single, “Popular Demand (Popeyes)”, that features Cam’Ron. Both styles are available in either White or Black at Commonwealth VA, Commonwealth DC, and their Online Store.

Santa didnt really appreciate the shots from Blitzen so he came back with this response. Santa, played by KrS One, comes very hard but I think Blitzen still got him.

I wish more songs from Attention Deficit were like this.

So in the spring of 2007, I suggested to Wale that he create an audio manifesto of what he wanted to accomplish as an artist once he signed. DC producer Osinachi, the maestro behind “Nike Boots” who is now part of Rodney Jerkins’ team, blessed Wale with the beat for “The Meeting” and Wale, how do you say, “went in.” This became the first track we played in label meetings and for a time, it was discussed that this would be the intro for Attention Deficit. In retrospect, I think Wale stayed true to the goals set forth in “The Meeting” and you can still hear the hunger in his voice. So 2.5 years later, this track is emancipated. And make sure you cop Attention Deficit if you haven’t done so already.

I went nuts when I saw this commercial on ESPN Outside the Lines yesterday. Why? Because imagine watching a show at college athletes being exploited by Universities (a whole other topic) and then seeing a reindeer rapping eerily like Lupe. Apparently Blitzen, the rhyming reindeer, is going up against LeBron, Kobe and Santa. What do you guys think of the commercial?

I really effs with this freestyle. Wale just goes in and makes it very relevant with references to the untimely demise of Chris Henry, his twitter followers, Cudi punching the kid at the show and the blizzard blanketing the Northeast. I didnt really like him shouting at all the rappers because it reminded too much of Jay-z “A Star is Born” track everything else was good. What do you think?

Its no secret that I am a big advocate of cardigans and this cardigan might just make it into my rotation of cardigans. This cardigan from Journal Standard features dark melange grey lambswool with orange leather buttons.
