Orchard Software is deploying a Point-Of-Care Testing Network to provide connectivity and management for point-of care testing (POCT), including COVID-19. The Orchard® Point-of-Care Testing Network™ is designed to help businesses integrate and connect POCT across multiple locations. The subscription-based, SaaS solution will allow users to automate and manage POCT processes through device integration and system interfacing, enabling electronic test ordering and automated result reporting. This connectivity enables rapid communication of, and response to, POCT results.
 The SARS-CoV-2 virus has wreaked havoc across the world, with the elderly population being particularly vulnerable to suffering severe consequences from the disease. As of October, globally confirmed cases were more than 45 million with nearly 9 million in the United States. Deaths across the globe reached higher than 1.18 million with more than 228,000 in the U.S.
 Development, validation, scale-up, and distribution of diagnostic tests is a key element in managing an emerging infectious disease outbreak. To enable effective contact tracing and contain the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, early availability of accurate and rapid diagnostic testing is needed. As part of an overall approach to COVID-19 testing, laboratories are implementing multiple testing platforms to meet testing demand and work around supply shortages.
 In a year filled with incredibly difficult circumstances, employees have continued to pull together (sometimes literally) to maintain our virtual Orchard family.

 Orchard is partnering with the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) at Purdue University to increase COVID-19 testing capacity.
 A small but mighty group of three, Sean Millard, Micah French, and Merry Ricketts comprise the Workplace Team that has numerous areas of responsibility and handles many different tasks. The Workplace Team has been together for three years, with Sean and Merry being with Orchard for over seven years. The group is integral to supporting Orchard's mission by ensuring Orchard’s team members have a great, safe environment, and the tools needed to do their jobs, as well as getting items needed for client installations delivered on time.
 Laboratory testing plays a crucial role in the response during an emerging infectious disease outbreak. Lives can be saved by an early and effective laboratory testing response. Specific to the COVID-19 pandemic, laboratories are having to get creative and use every tool in their toolbox to provide the caliber of service the profession has historically built its reputation upon.
