Did you know (of course you did) that John Kennedy, Ronald Reagan and George Bush all inherited a recession? And what did they all do? They cut taxes and the economy rebounded in every era. This Democrat administration has forgotten to study history.

Americans are beginning to wake up and see that none of the stimulus bills have worked and now the Cap and Trade and health bill will guarantee tax increases, consumer price increases and greater unemployment.

Did you know that athiests are sueing to block the engraving of "In God We Trust" at the new Washington D.C. Capitol Visitor Center?

Here we go again. Democrats are rushing the health care bill so Americans will not have a chance to really know what hit them. We will become the disaster that Canada and Great Britain are. Remember the word rationing if the health care bill passes. Doctor/Government/You. Forget about that hip replacement or heart surgery if you are an older person or wait for months for treatment, if any. The bill represents a web of a bureaucratic nightmare and it is your health! At a cost of $1.6 Trillion, figuring low, should be enough to wake people up.

Did you know that Harry Reid (D) has just added an amendment to the Defense budget reference the Raptor 22 airplane? The amendment also calls for passage of the Hate Crime law which is a major subject all its own. Once again, the corruption of this Democrat leadership is beyond belief. The bill is to be voted on tomorrow and, once again, little or no floor discussion.

House Democrats' Health Care Plan Chart

Via Drudge Report, House Republicans are unveiling their diagram of the bureaucratic maze that could be our socialized health care system (click on image to view full-size chart):

Governor Pawlenty and Newt Gingrich may refer to this chart as they speak health care forum workshop today in Minneapolis. Drudge links to a UK example of what we might look forward to if this passes:

Thousands of rheumatoid arthritis sufferers face a lifetime of agony because they are not being treated quickly enough, a report says.

Guidelines state that patients should receive treatment within three months of the first symptoms appearing.

But the average wait is nine months - and GPs are not trained well enough to know what help to offer.

Read the comments in that article for what's in store for us. Americans may all be covered under socialized medicine — but stock up on good books while you wait for your care.

Paul Driessen has a marvelous Townhall piece in which he seems to debunk every single reason for the Cap and Trade legislation that just passed the House on a largely party-line vote. And any reasons that he did not debunk, I will; there is simply NO good reason being given for trying to limit [U.S.] human CO2 production by legislative edict. One presumes there are reasons, of course, or there wouldn't have been a vote. Destroying the US economy would be the obvious choice, but that would require us to say that Democrats are evil, and I don't like that one. Wanting to pass a monstrous tax on everybody to accrue power in Washington would be another, but that would require us to say that Democrats are devious and power-hungry, as well as spendthrifts, which again isn't nice to say. So the only reasonably acceptable explanation is that Democrats have no clue about the obvious, and that they are simply and irretrievably stupid. Why does the obvious best choice still leave me sick to my stomach? Can I get some free health care for that condition?

Washington Times: "Franken, A Clown For All Seasons"

Senator Al Franken didn't get a warm DC welcome from Wesley Pruden in his July 14 Washington Times op-ed:

Al Franken's vote is not likely to be the margin of victory for any of the schemes now being dreamed up by the Democrats, but the way he got to Washington, and the easy acceptance of fraud, will be remembered as typical of the times, an era when avarice reigned, and the clever swindle was a joke to be played by a clown.

Many Minnesotans are not laughing at the joke played in this election—including Democrats. DFL State Senator Ann Rest is drafting reform legislation to mend some broken electoral fences in a "bi-partisan" effort.

It wouldn't be major reform; it would just "get rid of some dust mites" in the system, Rest said after a panel discussion on the U.S. Senate recount at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute. Her plan would have the changes take effect before the 2010 elections.

The one item that would eliminate most voter fraud was not allowed in a partisan DFL bill last year:

The DFL-controlled Legislature passed a major election reform bill last year, but Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty vetoed it, largely because it lacked bipartisan support. GOP lawmakers opposed the legislation because it didn't include a provision they insisted on that would have required voters to show photo identification before voting.

In other words, Ann Rest wants to flick off the dust mites, and ignore the gorilla. Look to Minnesota to send in more clowns in 2010.

American Majority Acting Locally

I've been seeing Tom Freeman quite a bit at conservative grassroot meetups and events. He is doing a lot of legwork in helping to build new conservative cnadidates by way of the American Majority effort here in Minnesota. It is not uncommon for those who seek to move the country in a more conservative direction of smaller government and greater individual liberty to see the big ticket positions like state house and senate. But there are many more ways you can help curb spending and overregualtion. Think mayor, city council, school board, parks and rec board, etc. American Majority thinks locally. Their tag line is "Your role in local government is integral to the well-being of MInnesota."

They are gearing up for another training session Saturday August 1st. If you've ever considered getting in the game as an activist, campaign manager or a candidate Please consider attending this event. The details from Tom:

American Majority's next event is Saturday August 1st in St. Paul at the Kelly Inn. The Kelly Inn is located near the capitol at 161 St. Anthony Ave. registration will begin at 8:30AM and class will begin promptly at 9:00AM.

Please help us connect with everyone (candidate, campaign manager, or engaged activist) possible by emailing this information, blogging about it, coming to the training yourself, or pointing us in a new direction. We appreciate all of your help and encouragement on behalf of American Majority.

The online registration for the August 1st event at the following link: https://www.americanmajority.org/MNEventRegistration2.html
