I write articles and do some forum posting too. This online activity fetches me a few $ and the same is withdrawn to my bank acct through Paypal.
Recently I received a payment of 1.25$ from a forum comment site but when I checked my paypal acct the amount showed only 0.89$. Paypal had deducted 0.36. I called up their support no. and asked for an explanation. I learnt that normally they charge 4.4% + 0.30$. I checked and it was correct. I also learnt that for micro payments(less than 10$) they charge 5%= 0.05$.
So, I asked them to enforce micropayment charges in case of micro payments and they obliged. Henceforth for a similar 1.25 payment, Paypal will deduct $0.06 +$0.05= $0.11 and not $0.36. For payments more than 10$ the normal 4.4% +$0.30 will apply.

In March this year I had shared an article writing site called WLE. At that moment one article was sold for 4.14 $ and 9 were waiting to be be picked up by clients at the rates approved by WLE. Well, I did not write there for months and none of my articles were sold. WLE has an option called fast sell, where the site buys your articles at 10% of the originally approved rates. Since none of the 9 articles were sold, I decided to opt for fast sell and most of my articles were picked up and I got paid through paypal. I started writing at WLE in the last week of Dec'14. I notched up 10 articles and was waiting for results. Last week my first article was sold for 4.14 $. Bubblews, a short post content mill, has not paid me for months now. There are three payments pending for the months of Aug Oct and Dec '13. I have been sending them emails regularly and they have been acknowledging a few of them with the commitment to sort out my problem of non payment.

Recently I recd an email saying that I have violated their norms(Rule no. 5) by posting a pornographic or semi pornographic image . Therefore, they will not pay and my Bubblews account is likely to be terminated too. The letter is produced below:

We are body conscious beings. We identify with our physical selves. From childhood we develop likes and dislikes. That is how we are brought up by our parents and elders. We pick up likes and dislikes from our elders and peers.

We sense the world through our minds and the mind is heavily dependent on the sense organs to feel the world. The eyes, nose, ears, skin and tongue guide us in making discoveries and judgments.
We learn to discriminate by using our intellect. If the intellect is well developed the human being evolves into a rational person. If his mind is dominant, he becomes an emotional person. With these tools at his disposal he sets about creating the world for himself.
He does everything possible to improve the objective world but forgets to focus his attention on his real inner self which is obscured by his body, mind and intellect. The scientists are working seriously to improve the world that we live in. The subject that is supposed to enjoy this world is struggling to cope with the advanced technologies and is suffering from stress and strain. Another set of people, the saints are going deep within themselves to identify their real selves so that the subject, the individual is developed. My conclusions:

1. I wasted my time writing for such cold blooded thieves who want the value addition that I give them but are unwilling to compensate me for my work.

2. The mounting pending payments are withheld by citing such callous and amateurish explanations.

3. The delay in payment is deliberate. The poor writer ends up writing content which is going to fetch royalty and new advertisers but the poor writer will never get paid dues. New writers will take his place and keep producing original content.

My warning: Do not write for Bubblews, they steal your content because they do not pay you after a few initial payments.

Do not believe the testimonials, they are from the initial bunch who have been paid. Some, who are older and experienced members and claim they are getting paid are either lucky or lying through their teeth, I don't know.

Should the Former Environment Minister be Charged With Criminal Negligence?

The former environment minister, Ms. Jayanthi Natarajan, was shunted out of power by the UPA govt. The explanation given was that she is required to assist Rahul Gandhi for election campaign duties.

It was not long before the real reason for her ouster was revealed. It is believed that the PM was unhappy with her performance and found her guilty of sitting on as many as 180 files pertaining to environment clearance without making any attempt to clear them at all. Most, if not all were growth related projects stalled just because the timid minister would not give environmental clearance.
The Indian economy has slowed down drastically but the government is showing no will to show initiative to spur economic growth. Her attitude amounts to criminal negligence and her stance is anti national growth.

She owes an explanation to the citizens of this country whom she represents but she has chosen to brazen it out instead of apologizing to the nation.

What is the role of a minister who has been elected by the citizens to head the ministry?
1. She should have formulated a policy document for her ministry. Is there a policy document in place? Has her predecessor handed over a report of the work done and the norms followed in issuing clearances?
2. As a regulator, what were the norms followed by her in denying/approving clearances to growth projects that were put up to her for clearance?
3. What are the compensatory measures announced by her ministry to people that have been relocated or the afforestation measures that was needed due to deforestation of vast areas of land.

The questions may never be answered but as stake holders in the growth of our nation,
1. do we have any legislation wherein we can recall such incompetent and non functional elected leaders.
2. Can such negligence be punished with jail term for the offender.
3. How do we hold the political party responsible and accountable for negligence and loss to the nation?
As citizens of India, we are ready to intervene and take charge by a better method called participative democracy. The only political party that is talking of self rule or Sawaraj is AAP.

Somnath Bharti, the Delhi Law Minister related his experience days after he took over. He summoned his office staff and asked them if he could be given a policy document of his law dept. He was shocked to learn that there was no such thing.

The secretaries are IAS level officers and they don't have a policy document to run the office operations. What the previous Law Minister of Delhi was doing is not on record. If the current incumbent decides to carry forward the good work of his predecessor, there is nothing to guide him.

The political parties say they are our representatives but it is quite obvious they are not working like professionals and the trained bureaucracy is unwilling to take responsibility for the actions of this semi-literate or academically qualified but incompetent leaders.

Who is leading the national capital if it is full of incompetent and irresponsible political bosses? What future does Delhi have if the mediocre and hesitant bureaucracy is reduced to the level of scared 'babus'?

The political parties say the AAP leaders are hasty in their actions. But look at their decisive ways and the speed at which they are functioning. The previous incumbents were sluggish and lethargic and the freshness and assertiveness of earnest, honest AAP is confusing the inert administration set up of Delhi.

4. AK-68 refused to have anything to do with BJP or Cong and said so openly. BJP did not know how to react and decided to adopt the moral high ground by refusing to plead with AAP to form a coalition govt. when they were invited by the LG.
5. Now, the LG turned to AAP to form the govt. Showing amazing alacrity and flexibilty, AAP unleashed a master stroke by going to the Delhi public for a referendum. The Public said 'yes' and AAP accepted outside support from Cong and formed govt. Cong was nonplussed and BJP felt as if it was castrated.
6. Cong cannot withdraw support and has to remain outside the govt. Can do precious little but to suffer the ignominy with gritted teeth. Cong is happy that BJP is out again.
7. BJP cries foul but then who listens to a loser. It is obvious that BJP leadership is bereft of ideas when it comes to tackling AAP.
8. AK-68 refuses red beacon (Lal Batti) on their cars, refuses palatial bungalows and personal security. He endears himself to the people of the nation when he says God will look after his security.
9. AK-68 announces up to free 700 litres water per day. Tasks Jal Board to supply water to areas without piped water supply by using water tankers.

13. AK-68 releases 1 Crore relief to widow of slain cop who was killed while discharging his duty by miscreants. It is a record relief amount given to an individual casualty.
14. The CM darbar on Jan 11 elicited overwhelming response and the CM was forced to move out to avoid a stampede by the unmanageable crowds. Even then the ministers collected more than 2500 complaints from Delhi citizens.
15. AK-68 has promised porta cabin shelters to the homeless and work is on to deliver on that promise to help the poor survive in these extreme cold conditions.
16. Even as BJP has copied the AAP party fund collection drive by coining 'Ek Note Ek Vote' AAP has gone one better by announcing a national enlistment drive by using SMS and online FREE registration as member of the AAP. The responses are very encouraging from all over India. Their target is 1 Crore members by 26 Jan but are sure to find double that number on 26 Jan.

Which CM in the history of free India has shown the intent to implement so many promises and decisions so quickly?

AAP is running circles around the two well established national parties and we won't be surprised if they prove to be successful in the coming Lok Sabha elections in less than 6 months

Tarun Tejpal would do well to remember his moral science lessons from school

The importance of spiritual education at the primary level of school has never been felt more than now.

Too many tales of moral turpitude have been surfacing in the news media. It is a fact that these news channels look for sensational news and the more sordid the episode the better it is for their TRP. This is a global phenomenon, not just restricted to any one country.

The latest episode is the one involving Tarun Tejpal of Tehelka. The email from the 'victim' that has been leaked to the media has done tremendous damage to the reputation of Tehelka as a publication and Tejpal as a crusader. It is fair to say that Tejpal the editor is dead, maybe Tejpal the human will awaken...hopefully. It must've taken him years of toil to build his reputation. As he was rising he must have kicked out the morals that he was so fond of preaching himself.

So many times he must have gotten away with his immoral , licentious behavior with the opposite sex. But to be caught attempting to molest a young woman and forcibly trying to have oral sex with her by pulling down her panties in a hotel elevator is the prurient stuff that surely belongs to smut pages of pornographic magazines and portals. The miserable man was primed for self detonation. Maybe these guys take their cue from more illustrious predecessors like Bill Clinton and Phaneesh Murthy.

When his immoral Captain chose to fix matches he did not agree and continued to play his honest game. That inspired the likes of gentlemen cricketers like Dravid, Laxman, Srinath and Kumble to take India to the top of Test and ODI rankings. As he leaves the game, India is confident of hammering the best in the game. That is what one calls a noble legacy. Sachin is just 40 and may live to be a 100 but as long as he lives, no Indian cricketer will dare to err on moral and ethical grounds.

What happened in the 18 th over? Indian fans are still to figure out why Dhoni asked Joginder Singh to bowl the last over to Misbah-ul- Haq in the T-20 final in 2007. India won that match and that was all that mattered. But after the 18 th over bowled by Ishant Sharma in the Champion's Trophy final, one does have an understanding about how Dhoni's mind works and one is left marvelling at his guts and street smart attitude.

At the beginning of that over England needed 28 off 18 balls. Morgan and Bopara had brought England close to victory and all that needed to be done was to play out two overs and England would reach the target or come very close to it. There was the last over to be used as a reserve. No risks, no hassles, that is what the two set batsmen must have been thinking.
Dhoni knew that if England played steadily the game was theirs. The only thing that could change the mindset was the prospect of some easy runs. Imagine what would have happened when E. Morgan saw it was Ishant who was going to bowl the over. In his mind he would have been slightly shocked and secretly thrilled at the prospect of some easy pickings. One does not know what was going on in Bopara's mind. It is likely that he was thrilled too but there is a possibility that he was alarmed too. Buttler's nervous swish missed the ball and he lost his middle stump to a predatory Jadeja. Stuart Broad, in the last over chose the safety of the non striker's end and expected Tredwell to score 9 off 3 balls. Tredwell managed 4 and Ashwin beat his bat in the final delivery and India had won.
Dhoni's assault was on the English mindset and they disintegrated and collapsed in a heap. Dhoni had again proved why he is the best in the business.

When I took part in the first SunSilk blogging contest and submitted my blogpost, I was rolling around on the floor laughing. I thought my post was funny. I was thrilled to have finally received my gift. I decided to try out the sample on myself and my wife was a reluctant volunteer. They had been invited for the first welcome address by the faculty of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Kanpur. They were expecting a lecture to welcome the new entrants into their fold. The lecture went very well and it was received with resounding applause by all those who were present. For these proud parents Lt Col Sandeep Mittal and Ms. Anupa Mittal what kept ringing in their ears was not the applause but the words that they feel constitute the best compliment that they have ever received in their lives. The gist of what they heard can be summed up as under:

From this Moment Onwards, They Are Our National Properties, Each One of Them, That You Great Parents Have Lovingly Created. Thank You!"

Anupa and Sandeep proved that this was not a fluke or a flash in the pan,when a couple of years later their second son Siddhant, entered the hallowed portals of Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.

Sandeep happens to be a short service entrant into the forces, who opted for permanent regular commission. In the year 2003, on one of the regular operational exercises, somewhere in Rajasthan, he met with a serious accident and was so badly injured, that he was in coma for 25 days. He recovered but had lost his right eye. This meant that he could not rise further in his career due to this medical infirmity. But Sandeep is made of sterner stuff. He made his decision to continue in the army and so far has been serving his nation with pride and sincerity.

Anupa, on the other hand is a cheerful and friendly soul on the outside. Her calm exterior conceals a steely inner resolve, which helped her counter the tragedy and stand by her man, in the most difficult phase of her married life. The frequent transfers and postings ensured that Sandeep was not always at home to see his children grow. Anupa never let her young children feel his frequent absence and proceeded to coach her children to achieve heights in education that most Indian parents can only dream about.
She observed the strengths of her children and came to a conclusion that her older child Divyank, was exceptionally brilliant where as the younger son was playful and interested in things other than academics too. This is where Sandeep stepped in to make the necessary correction in focus.

The young Siddhant would ask 'Why should I become an Engineer? Sandeep would point at the electric poles and say 'Look, You will have to climb that pole and crawl across like a monkey to make repairs and come down the other pole. Any monkey can climb up and crawl across but only an engineer can carry out repairs and restore light and electricity. Now, what do you want to become, a monkey or an Engineer?' The child understood what he had to do.

As a science teacher Anupa knew how to motivate her wards. She would find different ways to motivate and encourage them. She never ever compared one child with another. She always had answers for the curious ones and in parent teacher meeting she shared the strengths of her wards with the respective parents. Like she understood her own sons she wanted other parents to understand their children as well.

Later when the older son Divyank, was preparing to appear for his IIT entrance the parents decided to set up house in Kota where the coaching centre was, and young Siddhant saw with his own eyes, the effort that was being put in by his brother to crack the IIT entrance and get in. The first thing he did after his brother succeeded was to paste his brother's photo on his study table and every exam that he took thereafter, he did so only after taking his brother's blessings, and to think that only two years separates them.
Obviously with such high values instilled in them from early childhood, they are destined for great things in life.
Now that both her sons are well on their way to greater heights in life, Anupa is ready to coach the children of Army personnel and others too. At any given time she has more than 15 students who are being coached and guided by her.

Silent Woman of Cubbon Park - Unbelievable but True!

I came across this heading today about Ms. Sangeeta Mehrotra, the silent woman of Cubbon park, Bengaluru. I was tempted to skip the news, I thought it was a prank. I saw the date and since Apr 1 is weeks away, I decided to read the article. Jokes apart, I am glad to have read the article which clarified a lot of things that were troubling my mind.
Silence is golden, they say . I agree but the nagging question was always : Why should one be silent?

I read the article and understood a few things that I wanted to do always:
1. Surya Namaskar I learnt SN years ago but have not been a regular practitioner. To learn that this amazing lady actually does 108 SNs everyday at 7a.m is really inspiring. I have been intending to do 24 SNs everyday, but have been able to 4 or 6 and that too has been very infrequent. I feel now, I have the motivation to fufill my desire.
2. Hanuman Chalisa I believe Hanuman is one deity who clears up all obstacles in your future. All you need to do is to invoke his name everyday by chanting Hanuman Chalisa. This lady inspires me to start chanting Hanuman Chalisa everyday.
3. Silence I have a very strong urge from time to time to close my eyes and stay that way for hours and extend it to a day but now I believe silence is as good an antidote for all the stress and strain that I undergo everyday.
4.Pets I have always loved dogs and have had a Dobermann and a Labrador in the past. I want to have a few of these lovely dogs again. Recently I had blogged about a very pleasant experience of assisting my wife and children in taking care of two stray pups and finding a home for them. I want to adopt stray pups and give them up for adoption by deserving candidates, no less.

Two Little Pups - Orphaned and Abandoned at Birth-An Update

It was the end of Nov 2012. We were all waiting for the end of the world to arrive( some were really hoping it would end it all) but two little pups orphaned at birth were fighting for survival. The stray pups had absolutely no chance of survival or so I thought. I had blogged about how the two stray pups literally forced their way into our home by emotionally blackmailing my kindly spouse and compassionate son. For the entire story CLICK HERE.

I was able to appeal to dog lovers online and I was able to find homes for the two little guests. One pup I gave to a Physics teacher who wanted it for his lonely sister. The family fell in love with this stray pup and were doting on him. I visited their home after 10 days to see how he was coping up. I was happy to see the pup had put on some weight and was very active and playful. But my happiness was short lived as I got the news that this pup had been stolen, two weeks back. He was so popular with the neighboring kids that some enterprising brat scaled the compound wall and made off with the pup. I hope Chinna is safe and happy with his new family. The Physics teacher and his folks are shattered and have sworn never to get another dog, that is how upset they are! I'd got him vaccinated once and his second vaccination was due this 15 th but he has vanished.

The other bloke is still with me but only for a day or two as a friend, CEO of an apparel unit has evinced keen interest in this pup for his 10 year old son. Everyone in our household is besotted with the antics of this pup Bhairav. He eats well and is healthy and wonderfully cute. With his departure I would be completing my mission of find them a home, successfully. But in the two month period these infants have given us immense joy and pleasure. I will be posting a few snaps of Bhairav soon, maybe in a day or two.

I know that dogs are capable of unconditional love but to be able to realize that I too have a compassionate heart is akin to Self Discovery. As a child I was like this and it has taken a child for me to re-discover the spontaneity, innocence and love.
To be able to realize and understand that I am innocent, pure, spontaneous, chaste, detached and wise is an affirmation that my Mooladhar Chakra is clean and the resident deities namely, Nirmal Ganesh, Gauri Ganesh and Karthikeya are awakened and firmly in place.
