Since 2006, the ACS Athens Tennis Program has been committed to offering participants the opportunity to learn, develop, and refine their tennis skills with guidance from our highly qualified coaches. We provide a welcoming, international environment that prioritizes well-being, safety, and prestige, while fostering responsibility, resilience, and character beyond the sport.
Our program is open to students and staff of ACS Athens, as well as children and adults from the broader community. We tailor our training sessions to the skill level and goals of each individual, ensuring personalized learning while fostering a genuine love for the sport.
Statement
As coaches, our greatest privilege is nurturing each player’s unique spark into talent, skill, and confidence; cultivated intentionally, step by step. The true skill of coaching lies in creating an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and inspired to exceed their own expectations and grow. True success is measured by the progress, confidence, resilience, and joy players gain throughout their journey.

When I made the important decision to make tennis my main sport, I embarked on an unforgettable journey of discipline and fun. Over the past few years, I have significantly improved my tennis skills and formed friendships with people I’ve shared amazing moments with. I love playing tennis for several reasons. First, it has taught me how to control my emotions and become more independent. Additionally, I enjoy tennis because it is an extremely challenging sport that requires concentration, discipline, and mental toughness.
Since seventh grade, the ACS Athens Tennis Academy has played a key role in helping me elevate my tennis skills. Every student in the academy is given the opportunity to push themselves and improve daily. I enjoy training at the ACS Athens Academy because the coaches are fully committed to helping us grow, not only as tennis players but also as well-rounded athletes.
What sets the ACS Athens Tennis Academy apart from other programs is the way they select and develop their players. Instead of focusing solely on tennis skills, they prioritize the growth of each player as a complete athlete. To them, being an athlete is more than just having a strong forehand or quick footwork. While those skills are important, the coaches place greater emphasis on shaping our character and teaching us values that apply both on and off the court.
This is one of the main reasons I love tennis. It teaches you valuable lessons about self-reliance, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Tennis pushes you to overcome challenges and reminds you of the importance of being a respectful, polite person. The lessons I’ve learned on the court continue to guide me in my life outside of tennis, and for that, I am truly grateful.

I started at ACS Athens when I was in 4th grade. My dad suggested I try tennis after school because he thought it would be good for me. I had played baseball before, and he believed I’d be good at tennis too. At first, I joined ACS just for fun, not expecting to play a lot or get very good at it. But to my surprise, I was pretty good, and with the help of the ACS coaches, I got even better.
As time went by, my tennis skills improved a lot, and I started to really love the game. The next year, I decided to take tennis more seriously, and my coaches supported me in this decision. They recognized my potential and helped me further develop my skills. I moved into more advanced tennis classes and became a much better player. After all the practice, here I am today, playing great tennis and hungry for more.
