Check out the Lincoln Brewster video. We saw Lincoln at our church in Vancouver, Washington yesterday. He was terrific. We were fortunate to get front row seats. It was first come first seating, and the concert was free! Your community and church is just one avenue of places you can go and do things with your kids, or just yourself, and it does not cost anything.

Miniature figures, sometimes called miniatures or minis, are small figures often used in wargames like Mage Knight, Heroclix, Hordes, Warmachine, Warhammer and Spinespur.sideshow collectibles Some role-playing games can be played with them, as miniatures can help players to visualize factors that affect combat, such as which way each character is facing, who's fighting whom, line of sight issues, and so on. Some of these miniatures are intricately crafted and might be considered collector's items in and of themselves.
The hobby of painting, collecting, and gaming with miniatures is descended from the toy soldier hobby. The miniatures need to be painted and the toy soldiers are already painted and this has always been the tradition. Differentiation has become more difficult with the advent of pre-painted figures made of plastic like those found in Clix games.
Materials: Miniatures are usually cast using white metal, an allow of lead and tin, with tiny bits of antimony that helps the alloy show fine detail. Because of the high lead content, minis were sometimes called lead figures.
In 1993, the New York legislature nearly passed a bill outlawing lead in miniatures, citing public health concerns. Prices increased when the manufacturers of these toys began to anticipate more state laws regarding the presence of lead in their miniatures.
After nearly a year of debate, including protests by miniature manufacturers and enthusiasts, Governor Mario Cuomo signed a bill which exempted miniatures from the state's Public Health Law. Still, most American manufacturers continued to use non-lead alloys.
Manufacturers produce miniatures in a variety of materials such as polyethylene, plastic or hard polystyrene, however there are some that will use polyurethane based resin.
Some war games use box miniatures, a simple cuboid made from folded card stock. Each side features artwork on the outside.
Painting: In order to be able to tell characters or units used in role-playing and war games apart on a particular gaming surface such as a battle mat, an unadorned table top, or even on terrain, many gamers paint their miniature figures.
Most wargamers are not fanatics when it comes to the quality of the paint work on their miniatures, however, this is a very popular hobby for many people. The results of skilled mini-painting are quite amazing, but the process can be difficult, precise, and time-consuming.
In Internet painting competitions like Games Workshop's Golden Demon Contest, sometimes one can see the featured painted minis of fantasy, role playing miniatures war gaming conventions.
Professional painting services exist for hobbyist and corporate customers.

Even the most practiced writer is repetitively looking to advance their writing skills by finding new ways and means. consider a writing class. There are a lot of informal classes offered online, many of which are basic, fun and free. Learn the meanings of two or three new words. Look up words in the thesaurus to find words with same sense, but with nuances that most correctly illustrate what you want to say. The other best way to improve your writing skills is to get yourself into a daily writing exercise like maybe writing a magazine or something. This will offer you daily writing experience and will certainly help you in encouraging your writing skills.
The ways of communication need not be the same with all individuals . Those who are hearing spoiled have to utilize sign language to communicate to people and have sign language as their style of communication. But not everyone is skillful with sign language. We all would though like to stay connected with others and to be able to talk to anyone, no matter the language barrier. People think the task of learning sign language to be something which is very tough. If you are not looking to Learn and write sign language in totally then you can still learn colors and unlike phrases just by browsing online. Though many people learn sign languagewhen they are young out of need because they struggle with a hearing impairment or someone close to them does, you can study at any level of life and though various methods of learning.

SUMMER CONCERTS IN THE PARK

Its that time again. The FREE summer concerts are back starting July 22nd at Crown Park in Camas, Washington. All concerts are held on Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:30. See my schedule for dates. Its a great way to spend your evening with family and friends. Bring a picnic dinner, or perhaps do what we did last year. We had Pizza delivered. It was great, no cooking and we had free entertainment.

First concert is July 22nd 6:30 to 8:30, and will feature The Rockaroos. This one is for the kids. They sing kids songs.

July 29th 6:30 to 8:30 will feature Ruby Hill- Soul, Rock And Blues.

August 5th 6:30-8:30 will feature CONCREATE COWBOYS.

Yep they will be rocking- to country rock.

August 12th 6:30-8:30 will feature John Nilsen & SwimFish. some good Acoustic , Folk and Rock.

Well I hope that your able to make it to the park to see some of these great artist. It will be an excellent time, and remember its FREE.

Have you ever wondered what different roses symbolize. Roses have a long history behind the colors and what they represent when you give them or receive them. I have put together a list of roses and their meanings. I hope you can use this next time you buy a rose for someone.

The Red Rose says "I LOVE YOU"

It represents Love, passion and respect

THE PINK ROSE

The pink rose represent happiness, it shows appreciation, admiration, friendship and sympathy. Dark Pink roses signify thankfulness

Camas First Fridays! Oh what fun.

Hi and welcome to my very first post.

Up until February 2008, I worked for a Corporate Bank located in Portland, Oregon. Twenty Years of employment with the same Bank, and they decide to close it's office and relocate to Houston Texas. So after 20 years, I found myself with out a job. So what do I do now? I have always had a passion for ceramics, and did a lot of it as a hobbyist only. So with no job and a new found desire to operate my own business, I launched Ceramic Parties to Go in May 2008.

It has been a learning experience, and is slow going, but I am looking to a bright and happy future. My husband and I are also working on our other business Moonlight Merchants, LLC. This will be a Tee-shirt and sublimation business. We have the supplies and systems in place, and we're working on the launch. So with God's Guidence, we're hoping to have this buisness up and running soon. We know that all things are possible through God who is at the helm of all we do. So It will be something wonderful, and I will certainly blog about it soon. Also in the fall, I will be teaching ceramics through the Camas Community Education Department. I am very excited about this wonderful opportunity.

We have lived in Camas, Washington for the past 20 years.This is the wonderful view from our back deck. When we moved to Camas, it had a population of around 7,000. It was very rural with beautiful open land that had cows, and the hillsides were covered in forest. We had a beautiful view of Mt. Hood and the valley from our back deck. We felt like we were on vacation everytime we stepped outside. We moved away from the big city of Portland to raise our kids. We were blessed with wonderful schools, and a giving community. But over the past 8 to 10 years, our little town of Camas has grown to a population of almost 18,000. With that of course comes building and more building. Clear cutting of our fields and forest. Big electronic industries have also joined in. With all that said, Camas still has a hometown feel to it. It does saden me though to see all the growth. I am happy that my kids grew up when it still had green pastures and forest. The schools were smaller, and they had a wonderful education. They still have good education here though, big industries, bring big money. But hey, I still love our some what bigger town of Camas, and I am very happy to be living here. Camas still has some great hometown activities, great community educations, parks, recreation, and they have a lot of fun things happening all the time.

Camas was incorporated as a town in 1906. It is said that the name of this quaint town comes from the Camas Lily. A beautiful flower that grows in the meadows. The Camas lily was known to the Pacific NW Region Indians as a food source. They would cook the bulbs and then reduce it to a flour, and use it for making bread. The called this plant Kamass. Camas is an old Paper Mill town. The Mill was established back in 1883 , and is still operating today. Although, I have heard rumors that the mill is in the process of closing, I do not know this for sure.

The Camas Mill is full of history.

I hope to bring a wealth of information to all of you through my blogs. I will be posting all the things happening around Camas and Vancouver. I have a passion for parties and childrens activites so look for all my party and activity ideas.
