Our church in Oriental Negros will be launching the "KAPATID". A youth organization that promotes a higher principle of leadership and an awareness to the youth with regards to the danger of illegal drugs , alcohol and pre-marital sex. " Kapatid" has been working in the campuses here in Cagayan de Oro City . Now, it's reaching as far as Visayas and Luzon.

Talking of this campaign reminds me of long beach drug alcohol rehab treatment center. Malibu Horizon offers the most effective, research-based alcohol and drug treatment. How I wish the same treatment center is available in our city, it would surely be a great help to those who are drug dependents.

Blogging is an exciting and excellent platform for both learning and teaching. This blog site turns three years this month and I could say this is one experience I am forever grateful. I’ve learned so many things under the topics and opportunities I have written. I am thankful to my blog tutors for patiently guiding me through the long process of building my blog sites... from the technical aspect, creative brainstorming and page site ranking.

Now, I am passing the baton, I am teaching some friends How to make money through blogging. I Started by teaching them how to create a blog, increase page rank and register to various paying sites. Actually there are lots of ways how to monetize a blogs ( specially those professional bloggers ) , below are the most common ways :

1. PPC or Pay Per Click – It is an advertising program in which ads are placed on your blog and you are paid every time your visitors click on the given ads .
2. Advert Widgets -A very simple advertising system is easily integrated to your blog’s sidebar with widget advertising. Just embed the widget into your sidebar , the ads automatically appears
3. In-Text Ads –These ads are the links with double-lines below them.
4. Sponsored Reviews – This is publishing reviews of products through direct contact by the product owner or through a review site.
5. Sponsored Post - Same as sponsored review these are posts paid for by others. This allows the post to link to another site with very specific and targeted keyword links.
6. Selling or Renting a Page –This involves selling internal pages of your site to anyone willing to pay either on a monthly or yearly basis.
7. Promote Affiliates – Promoting products or services in your website through banners or links in your homepage .

I have the chance to talk about blogging last month during our church youth gathering . This desire to introduce blogging to the young people of our church was born out from my desire to help them raise funds for their various activities. I have observed that there are lots of young people in our church who are wasting their time doing unproductive things online so I encouraged them to join me in the blogosphere.

With the little knowledge that I have, I taught them how to start a blog. For a newbie, I introduced them to the easiest platform which is blogger ( www.blogger.com). My lecture was made easier because of my actual online presentation through LCD projector . With their own laptops , they were able to create their own blog site complete with gadgets and widgets. For the installation of templates, it took us an hour before the participants were able to get the html codes successfully. Some decided to apply the “ready made template” provided by blogger. When I discussed about the importance of Page Rank and traffic to a blog, I received many questions.

As of the moment, all of the participants have continued their zeal in blogging. It was really a fulfilling blogging workshop.

I have few friends whom I introduce blogging. Friends who has gift on writing. Honestly I am still learning but let me share to you what I have learned from two years of blogging. So here it is my simple instructions/steps on how to create a website and monetize it . Hope it is comprehensive.

1) You can create an account with any of the free hosted blogs like yourblogname.blogspot.com or yourblogname.wordpress. For a blogspot blog you can go to www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com to create a free account .

2) Chose a template . Templates design must suite your theme or personality . Add a lay-out before adding your gadgets and widgets. This is where I made a mistake. My followers and neo counter were gone when I applied my template. Go to www.btemplates.com for blogger lay-outs. Extract the code and add to your HTML . For wordpress visit www.freewpthemes.net. There are lots of free themes in the net, just goggle it.

3. Add widgets and Gadgets. Just browse from your dashboard , you can select what widgets and Gadgets to add.

4) Post as much as you can in 3 months. For the next three months, don't think about monetizing your blog yet but enjoy writing your posts. Consider it as your diary. You can write anything under the sun. Express your emotion…

5.) Build your traffic and links. While waiting for you blog to mature, you can also build your traffic by letting people know about your blog . Go blog hopping, leave comments on their blogs or notes on their message box. Follow others so they will follow you. Join Memes like Word-filled Wednesday , Thankful Thursday , Food trip Friday, mommy moments ( Just click my widget, then you will be redirected)

6) Create a Paypal Account - While waiting for your blog to mature, you can also create an account with Paypal . Visit www.paypal.com for more info. This is the way companies pay you. Paypal is very safe and credible. It's widely used in the worldwide web. You must have a credit card or Union bank Eon Account . Check www.paypal.com for other cards accepted. Once you have a paypal account , you can withdraw it from any bank worldwide.

She got the surprised of her life when the President of their school threw a birthday party for her. Actually, me and my friends were planning to give a surprise dinner buffet for my mother-in-law on the eve of her birthday but the management of the school informed me about their surprise party for mom. So we adjusted our schedule and brought snacks good for 80 teachers.

Mom was exceedingly happy. She received lots of birthday gifts but ours was the most expensive and unique one. We gave her a portable sewing machine complete with accessories like cufflinks , thread and cloth. Mom love to stitch and embroider. Our gift was perfect for her hobby . Mom you deserved the best... but as for now that's the best we can give. Happy Birthday!

Sports sunglasses for better sports performance

My hubby love collecting sunglasses! From the cheap display at our city night market to the branded names like Giorgio Amarni, Rayban , Fendi and Kenneth Cole. Although some of his collections were washed-out and damaged during Typhoon Sendong, he’s still thankful that some were preserved through their protective cushion and hard case.

Now he is thinking of buying a Bolle sports sunglasses for his biking spree. What he loves about Bolle are the frame m interchangeable lens system, shock –absorbent temples and adjustable nose pads which are specifically designed for sports. The price is quite higher than average, but I guess it can last long and can enhance better sports performance.

Cebu Pacific Airlines Baggage Mishandling

Last year a YouTube video that was posted by user Neil29santiago went viral . The video clip shows two airport ground staff at Hong Kong International Airport tossing and hurling the passengers' luggage around as the bags are unloaded from a Cebu Pacific flight.

I have seen videos like this many times where luggage were being mishandled. Bags which are being loaded onto the aircraft are just flipped onto the conveyor belt, with some of the bags not even making it inside and just fall down several feet to the ground. I just wonder if Cebu Pacific are using the steel strapping method in their cargo area. The video really is a big discouragement specially to those who are frequent travelers.

The freezing cold temperature .. these are just some of the challenges during winter season as expressed by my friend today. She lives in the Vancouver Canada and it's her first winter experience. Instead of being excited, she was disappointed with the harsh environment brought by the season. She's thankful with the new raypak heaters her fiancee bought. It really helped her adjust to the freezing temperature. As she was expressing her experience, I can not helped but imagine myself in her situation. I guess I couldn't survive being in Canada at freezing point. How about you?

My daughter and I spent a day with each other over the weekend—we did our nails, our hair and talked for hours about random things concerning school and church. While our men (or should I say boys) spent the day singing and drooling over the vintage sound effects of the carl martin surf trem . They have many things in common—their sense of humor, purpose of serving God and their passion for music. It was really nice when we got together at the end of the day and did nothing for a change. The past weeks have been pretty hectic so I was really happy to have escaped that, even for just a while.

I was watching the news the other day and saw that Kodak had declared Bankruptcy. I was shocked, a company as big as Kodak? But I realized later on that it would’ve come sooner later anyway, due to the recent advancements of this age. We just don’t print pictures anymore. But the report brought back memories of our internet café that we had to get assumed because it had a huge overhead and our trusted personnel wasn’t as trusted as we initially thought. I can’t help but think, what if we’d declared bankruptcy at that time? What if we could’ve done something other than get it assumed?

What a help Bankruptcy Lawyers would have been at that time! Even in the U.S, arizona bankruptcy attorney and Phoenix Bankruptcy Attorney are a hit! I’m thinking if any of my children would want to be attorneys. My daughter, I assume, would want to be a princess but my son (who’s attending college in a few more years) has expressed his interest in accountancy. It’s a very known path that accountants take--usually proceeding to Law after graduation. I wonder if my son holds the same aspiration as many… I might have to ask both my children later.

The shattered image of our house hours after the flood water subsided. Our things were scattered everywhere. What’s depressing was that some of our things which were stolen by the one we hired to clean the house. They took from us appliances like TV, digital antenna computer monitor and tools. They even ransacked our kitchen cabinet and took my precious Corning wares. It’s sad to know that there are some people who are heartless and cruel enough to to do such thing. Now, they could no longer be reached on their cellular phones. Oh God! Forgive them!
