The Water Became Wine

It has been 5 years since I wrote this word of encouragement. Most of what is here is the original prophetic word, with a few corrections, added scriptures, and insights. I never posted or published the word to my blog. A few days ago, Holy Spirit said to look for that word about the new wine.

In the summer of 2017, I was going about my day and I heard Holy Spirit say, the water became wine. I had recently returned from a prophetic conference and had been pondering so much of what the Holy Spirit had spoken by His prophets. I wasn’t expecting the Spirit to emphasize this phrase to me, “the water became wine”, so I was caught a little off guard. I simply pondered the phrase desiring to hear what Holy Spirit was saying. This is what I sensed from Holy Spirit.

Most people, even non-believers, are familiar with the first miracle of Jesus at the wedding in Cana. I believe that this miracle has prophetic insight into our current spiritual season. It can be read in its entirety in the gospel of John, the second chapter, but here is a small portion.

On the third day, a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother, said to Him, “They have no more wine.”
“Woman, why do you involve me? Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

John 2: 1-5 NIV

Jesus said to the servants, Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine.

This first miracle of Jesus starts out with a bit of contention between him and his mother. It almost sounds like Jesus is rebuking his mother, but he is simply stating the fact that he knew his appointed time. She was requesting for him to manifest who he was prior to that appointment. In obedience, he responded and from this miraculous demonstration, he revealed his glory to his disciples.

This first miracle of Jesus was one that defied physics. Jesus physically changed the molecular structure of water and turned the compound of hydrogen and oxygen into a wine that tasted better than the rest of the wine at the wedding. We can only speculate about how it happened. Did he bless the water? Did He imagine it as wine and watch it transform before the eyes of the disciples and his mother? We do not know. What we do know is that He had the power to transform matter (energy) within limited time and space. In the very first verses of the revelatory book of Hebrews, we discover the unique glory of the Son.

God, having spoken to the fathers long ago in [the voices and writings of] the prophets in many separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the truth], and in many ways, has in these days spoken [with finality] to us in [the person of One who is by His character and nature] His Son [namely Jesus] whom He appointed heir and lawful owner of all things, through whom also He created the universe [that is, the universe as a space-time-matter continuum]. The Son is the radiance and only expression of the glory of [our awesome] God [reflecting God’s Shekinah glory, the Light-being, the brilliant light of the divine], and the exact representation and perfect imprint of His [Father’s ]essence, and upholding and maintaining and propelling all things [the entire physical and spiritual universe]by His powerful word [carrying the universe along to its predetermined goal]. When He [Himself and no other] had [by offering Himself on the cross as a sacrifice for sin] accomplished purification from sins and established our freedom from guilt, He sat down [revealing His completed work] at the right hand of the Majesty on high [revealing His Divine authority], having become as much superior to angels, since He has inherited a more excellent and glorious name than they [that is, Son-the name above all names].

Selah. It is in Him that we live and move and have our very being.

Jesus, as the anointed Son, had the authority and creative power to change the water into wine. He holds all things together by the word of His power, all things in the physical and spiritual universe, including water and wine. Interestingly, the human body is approximately 80% water. Jesus has the authority and creative ability to transform believers into images into his image and likeness, just like he transformed the water. By His Spirit, Holy Spirit, in us He is transforming his church and remnant into vessels of a new wineskin capable of carrying the glory of His person.

The water of the Spirit in our lives can be transformed in a moment to the wine of the Spirit that is able to intoxicate all those who come in contact with His work in our lives. The water of the Spirit in us, transforming us and preparing us to be a wineskin able to receive the new wine. The Body of Christ has been calling forth the next move that will usher in the prophesied billion-fold harvest. Along with many others, I believe the time is upon us. I believe that the next move of the Spirit of God will manifest as not just the water of the Spirit but the wine of the Spirit. It will take the intoxicating love of the Bridegroom to transform the lives of those that have been so utterly encompassed by darkness. The Spirit of God in us must become an intoxicating influence in the lives of everyone with whom we come in contact. Our rivers of living water must become wine taken from His House. The Song of Songs tells us about the wine of His House.

Suddenly, he transported me into his house of wine-he looked upon me with his unrelenting love divine.

It will be those that have been in the intimate chambers of the Beloved that will be able to testify of His intoxicating love. They will be the ones who will have this demonstrative flow of the fullness of who He is. The Presence of Christ, the fragrance of His Person, must be so evident upon us that others know beyond a shadow of a doubt that our Christ is alive and dwelling in the midst of His Bride.

This is how it happened in Acts:

“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4 NKJV)
“So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, Whatever could this mean? Others mocking said, THEY ARE FULL OF NEW WINE. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, Men of Judea and all those who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words, For these are not drunk as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day, but this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams and on My menservants and My maidservants I will pour out of My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. And it shall come to pass that WHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.” (Acts 2:12-21 NKJV)

A Prophetic Word:

I am releasing the WINE of My Spirit. I am taking your rivers of living water and transforming it at the molecular level to cause the river of My Spirit to overflow and birth the intoxicating love of My Son, the Bridegroom. Many have tasted of this season-long before the appointed time. Many come into the intimate chambers of My House to drink with me and to bask in the Presence of My LOVE. Yet now I am releasing the wine of MY Presence to those who will receive the invitation into the secret chamber of love-the deep calling to deep. This is a feast of love that will change you from the inside out. My feast of love in My Holy Chamber will cause my love to flow through you and intoxicate those around you. This intoxicating love is found in Me and I invite whosoever will to come-come and drink-drink and be filled. Then go bursting forth. Freely you have received, freely give. Intoxicating love flow.

This is a repost from December of 2013! It does not seem like I have been blogging that long. If you follow the blog then you know I don't blog every week, sometimes not even every month. The blog topics are Holy Spirit inspired. God highlights something in my life and I share it. As you will read that even includes football. Here is a new appropriate introduction:

On Sunday night, February 4, the Philadelphia Eagles won Superbowl #52 by defeating the New England Patriots, final score 41-33. As my son Keenan so aptly put it this morning, "it was the best Superbowl ever! I could not agree more. We hardly slept in this house on Sunday night. We are all nursing our voices because of how enthusiatically we cheered our home team. Even days before, in our house, we were already singing, "We are the champions" (prophetically I might add). The tremendous story of faith behind our Superbowl Champions can not be overstated. It was so very encouraging to witness so many Eagles "being a witness" as they received the Lombardi trophy that night! Their journey is one that has resonated with the city of Philadelphia, the region, the nation and even the world. (Remember the "underdog" masks came from an Amazon vendor in China). I am not deleting the original introduction to the post because it is part of the journey. Hopefully, some of what I wrote then will still encourage you today.

On Sunday night, December 29, the Philadephia Eagles clinched the NFC East Championship by defeating the Dallas Cowboys, final score 24-22. It was sweet bliss for Eagles fans to have their team win on the Cowboys turf. Needless to say we bleed green at my house! The game was exciting down to the last two minutes of play. The interception by Eagles cornerback Brandon Boykin sealed the Philadelphia win! Almost immediately, Facebook was bombarded with posts by Eagles fans some of which included the team fight song...Fly Eagles Fly! It was sweet, truly! My husband was so pumped he couldn't go to sleep and who really wanted to sleep...a win like that you savor right! E...A...G...L...E...S! Go Eagles!

Well, not much happens in my life, not even football, without some spiritual contemplation. Earlier, that day I had received a YouTube email alerting me that one of my favorite worship teams had posted a new video. The title of the video..."Those Who Wait On the Lord". Those of you familiar with scripture will know that this verse speaks about eagles mounting up! Apropo right!

Isaiah 40:31 KJV

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint."

"But those who wait for the Lord (who expect, look for, and hope in Him ) shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up (close to God) as eagles (mount up to the sun); they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired."

The worship video ushered me right into the Presence of the Lord. It wasn't one of those short video clips either...almost 30 minutes. It had a segment where the worshippers waited as Isaiah 40:31 declares. Powerful! After all the excitement of the game, this was the perfect ending to an amazing night. As the worship went forth, if you entered in, you began to feel the ascension. The mounting up...the mounting up comes after the waiting...the stillness...the reverent worship of the Most High God.

Mount Up: Strong's #H5927 alah (aw-law)- to go up, ascend, climb, to meet, visit, follow, depart, withdraw retreat, to spring up, grow, shoot forth, to go up, go up over, rise, TO COME UP BEFORE GOD (my emphasis added), to excel and be superior.

Eagles are majestic creatures and have strong symbolic meaning in scripture. Eagles, both bald and golden, are among the largest birds in world and symbolize wisdom, strength, bravery and courage. Time does not permit me to expound on eagles in scripture but a biblical study will surely bless anyone seeking revelation. The instinctual characteristic of the eagle to "mount up" is powerfully symbolic in Isaiah 40:31. When we choose to wait (Strong's #H6960 wait, look, for, hope for, linger for) the Presence of Lord we can expect to be changed, renewed and strengthened. We will mount up and draw near to God and He will draw near to us. We will ascend into His Presence and dwell in the Secret Place of the Most High. Communion. Fellowship. Koinonia (Strong's #G2842). This is time well spent which results in running and walking out our faith without becoming weary, faint and tired. This is our true spiritual inheritance, the sweet communion and fellowship with our Father. We have free access to pure Love because of the full redemption of Our Christ.

This upcoming year, I am expecting to "wait upon the Lord" and "mount up". In a previous post I shared briefly about a powerful teaching regarding the Jewish New Year 5774 by Melissa Flores. (http://definingwords.com/2013/09/30/the-word-on-ayin-dalet/). The Year 5774 is Ayin Dalet. Ayin refers to "eye" and "fountain". (check out earlier posts) Our prophetic perception will be important in this season. In scripture, eagles are symbolic of prophetic insight. Dalet refers to "door" and can also mean "movement". Doors in scripture often refer to spiritual movement and opportunity. (It is now the Hebraic year, 5778, which still speaks of ayin 70"eye" but also chet 8"new beginnings and gates").

I expect the New Year of 2014 to be a year of entering into "Fullness". I earnestly believe God desires us to experience the fullness of His Kingdom. In John 10:9, Jesus told us that He is the door. We will enter into the fullness of God's destiny for our lives through Christ Jesus, Our forerunner. We will "mount up" and ascend in communion and fellowship with the Father as we wait upon the Lord and enter into His Rest. Jesus bids us all to COME. He gives the invitation. The invitation is for whosoever will. We will choose to wait, to rest, to mount up, to walk and to run! Let's not neglect this GREAT SALVATION! LET'S FLY...EAGLES...FLY!!!

Good...Taste and See!

Several years ago, I had the privilege to minister to young people on Sunday nights at a church I attended. During those times, I was always praying for a creative way to minister some truth to them. One such message was on Psalm 34:8; “O taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” I would use familiar foods and have a taste contest as the object lesson. The point was to demonstrate how familiarity affects the tasting experience. When we spend quality time with the LORD and are familiar with His nature, it affects how we experience Him.

While meditating on Psalm 34:8, I looked up the word “good” for its Hebrew translation. We have our perception of what “good” means, however, that is probably not the fullness of what is expressed in this scripture. In Strong’s Concordance, good is reference #2896 to’wb with the following meanings: pleasant, agreeable, good, beautiful (to the senses). Retrieved from http://biblehub.com/hebrew/2896.htm. In this verse, good is an adjective that appeals to the senses. This “good" is experienced. Taste and see that the LORD is good! But the good does not stop there, it relates to a variety of contexts and experiences. See full definition at Bible Hub:

God “as good” does not stop at our limited understanding of “good.” It goes beyond. In Genesis during creation, HE declared that it was good. Then at the culmination of creation, mankind, Father said, “very good.” So, the God who IS good, creates and what He creates IS good, and then He invites the creation to taste and see! Our revelation of Father’s nature affects how we see and how we experience Him.

For example, in 2 Chronicles 5:13-14

Indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD saying: FOR HE IS GOOD, FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER (emphasis added) that the house, the house of the LORD was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.

And again in 2 Chronicles 7:2-3

And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD’s house. When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD on the temple, they BOWED THEIR FACES TO THE GROUND (emphasis added) on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the LORD saying: FOR HE IS GOOD FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER (emphasis added).

God’s glory is connected to Him being revealed as “good.” Not good in the way that you or I understand good. That is the wrong tree. God’s “good” is nature and essence, not knowledge. When the children of Israel praised Father saying, For HE is GOOD, Father came and manifested HIMSELF. The glory, Shekinah, His essence manifested from one realm into another because the people praised Him in one sound magnifying His nature.

Taste and see.

Here is an example of someone who tasted.

Exodus 33:18-19

And he (Moses) said, “Please show me Your glory.” Then He (the LORD) said, I will make ALL my GOODNESS (emphasis added) pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

Moses tasted, and He saw. Here in this passage of scripture, goodness is the Hebrew word tubi #2898 from the root word tob (the root word means “to be pleasing”). Goodness means good things, goods, best, best things, beauty, comeliness. Retrieved from http://biblehub.com/hebrew/2898.htm. There is an obvious connection between the Hebrew words, good and goodness that come from the similar root. You don’t have to be a word scholar to see it. Can you see the connection between the essence of God as good and His glory? His essence is Good because He said it and revealed it. His Goodness is glory because He said it and revealed it. REPOST: Repeat the SOUNDING JOY!!

I wanted to share this repost (with a few minor additions) from December 2015. There are many times when I feel the LORD causes us to reflect on what He has said in order to gain new revelation of what He IS SAYING. There are many reasons why this repost is ministering to me at this season, it isn't simply because of the Christmas season because JOY is spiritual. It is part of the KINGDOM of God. Jesus said the Kingdom of God is within you and it is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. When Jesus came to earth, He brought with Him the Kingdom...the government was upon His shoulders. Remember that JOY is spiritual, it isn't emotional...it is part of the Kingdom of God and it is our portion and inheritance in HIM.

Many years ago, when I was a history teacher at a Christian school, I did an activity with my class that required each of us to come up with a name for ourselves. This name had to reflect a godly characteristic of our personality or one we desired. If my memory serves me correctly, the purpose of the activity was to emphasize the importance of the spoken word and our names. I chose "Mrs. Maintaining-A-Spirit-of-Joy-Wagner". Whenever we addressed one another in class, we had to use our chosen name. It was an interesting activity! The class and I had fun with it. At the time, I thought that was the name that most reflected my heart's desire. Fast forward about 18 years. (Now about 20). Even today, I want to maintain a spirit of joy. I believe joy is so important to our spiritual life.

Yesterday, I was listening to a new DVD of Christmas music I had just received from a ministry, simply having what I call my praise and worship break. Then the song Joy to the World came on and it was like I was hearing it in a different way. The words of the song made my eyes well up with tears and my heart overflowed with worship. Here are the lyrics...yes...I know we know them but just read them slowly....ponder them.

JOY to the WORLD
the LORD has COME
let EARTH receive her KING.
LET EVERY HEART PREPARE HIM ROOM

AND HEAVEN AND NATURE SING, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and heaven and nature sing.

JOY to the WORLD
the SAVIOR REIGNS
let men their SONGS employ
while FIELDS and FLOODS, ROCKS, HILLS AND PLAINS
REPEAT THE SOUNDING JOY, repeat the sounding joy, repeat, repeat the sounding JOY.

NO more let SINS and SORROWS grow
nor THORNS infest the ground
He COMES to make HIS BLESSINGS FLOW
Far AS THE CURSE IS FOUND, far as the curse is found, far as, far as the curse is found.

He rules the world with TRUTH and GRACE

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the GLORY of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of GREAT JOY which will be to ALL PEOPLE. For there is born to you this day in the city of David, a Savior who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."

And suddenly there was with the angel a MULTITUDE of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

As I was worshipping, I just keep hearing in my spirit, repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy. It was as if I saw a picture of heaven and earth singing, praising God for the joy that had come into the earth through Christ His Son. Real Joy. Eternal JOY. The joy that can only come from the Source of Life. Just think about the fact that ALL of heaven repeats the sounding joy. All of nature, repeats the sounding joy.. the fields, the floods, the rocks, the hills, the plains...repeat the sounding joy. This is the joy that Jesus gives us as gifts, His Joy, not just Christmas joy but eternal joy that the world can't take away. Finally, this joy has an expression. It has a sound. It is a joyful praise. It is a joy that can't be silenced. It is joy worth repeating. Joy worth sharing. JOY JOY JOY.

JOY to the WORLD! Great joy to all people.

May the Presence of the King and His JOY touch your heart and the hearts of those you love every day...and may we all repeat the sounding joy!

Tis the Season for a Tell

The holiday season is entirely upon us. The first snow has come and gone with its wintery winds. It is a time of giving and receiving, not only of material gifts but spiritual ones as well. A few years ago, I shared about the gifts that Jesus has given to us: His love, peace, and joy. What beautiful gifts to receive! This season the Father has been speaking to me about something I refer to as His “tell.” You may be thinking, what are you talking about? First, since the word tell is a homonym, let me give you the definition to which I am referring. The tell I am referencing is the “tell” of a poker game. (I know this might sound strange, but this is what the Father and I were talking about.) “A tell in poker is a change in a player’s behavior or demeanor that is claimed by some to clues to that player’s assessment of their hand.” (Wikipedia.com). I am not a poker player, so in layman’s terms, it is when a player has a behavior that gives a clue as to what is in their hand.

Last week during my bible study devotions, I noticed what I am calling a “tell” from the Father. Without going into detail, it was something that let me know what the Father was doing. It could be called a confirmation, which is Christian lingo, for something that confirms God’s will. But as I pondered it and listened to the Father, I sensed He was saying,” I send out ‘tells’ all the time. Are you paying attention?” I had to ponder it. I have been pondering it.

Some of you might be thinking, it also sounds like discernment. For example, it is when someone is trying to “figure out” what is happening in a situation or the spirit behind an action. I agree that it sounds like discernment too, but I would argue that discernment can be about you or others. As I pondered this idea of the Father sending “tells”, I thought, this is personal communication. It is something the individual will pick up that is a specifically “designed” to get their attention. Discernment is not always that way.

God is personal. Despite what you may have heard or learned elsewhere, He is very personal. He prefers one on one, close intimate communication but all too often we are going about our daily business, so He uses other means of communication to get our attention. Sometimes we call it coincidence, serendipity or synchronicity. Sometimes it is something that just makes us go hhhhmmmm. Regardless of how we name it, I am suggesting that these are incidents or events in which God is garnering our attention-it’s a tell. He is allowing something that will get our attention so that we can look to Him and see His plan.

For me, a week ago, it was the reoccurrence of a word. It was not a heavily used word, but rather a rarely used Hebrew word. I happened to come across it several times in one week. That is when I realized it was a tell, for me specifically. Another person probably would not react the same to hearing or noticing the word. This is why I argue that the “tells” are specific to the person. It was not a confirmation because it was not confirming anything. It got my attention and caused me to ponder the message that Father was communicating to me. It caused me to seek Him deeper and listen to what He is saying.

Now here is the million-dollar question, have you noticed any “tells” from the Father? Tis the season for a tell. How might the Father be speaking to you through unusual occurrences or circumstances? This is not superstition or anything of that nature. These are real incidents that bear witness with your spirit that whatever the “tell” may be, one thing that it is not, is random or coincidental. It is to get your attention. It is a means of the Father to get you to see what He is doing or going to do.

I started this blog out defining the word “tell. " This is not a play on words, but it is interesting to note that even the most general definition of the word encourages us to pay attention and listen up. We are living in miraculous times; honestly, anything could happen at any time. Let’s put our faith out there for the manifestation of the Kingdom of God in our midst. Be on the look-out for the “tell’ that the Father is sending to you: tis the season for a “tell”.

Enlarge Your Tent - Poem

After spending the day watching Rise Up 2017, The Call of Women to a day of prayer in Washington DC, I decided to share this poem I wrote in May 2017. It was part of a word that I received from the Lord at that time about enlarging my tent, increasing my capacity for Jesus, so that I could birth what He needed me to birth in the spiritual realm. The call to prayer is about exactly that birthing in the spirit what Father God wants to manifest in the earth.

The poem is based on Isaiah 54:2

Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out your home and spare no expense! (NLT)

Enlarge the site of your tent (to make room of more children) stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare them lengthen your tent robes and make your pegs (stakes) firm (in the ground). (The Amplified Bible).

Sing woman sing
barren one you were called
barren you are not
rejoice again, for your fruitful lot

Enlarge your tent
strengthen your cords
children shall come
make ready His doors

Spiritual mother
nurture a soul
cultivate a spirit
no matter how old.

Dance woman dance
barren no more
birth by the spirit
make ready His doors.

Open up, open wide
gates and doors glorified
Open up, open wide
King of Glory has arrived!

The Revelation of Jesus

On Monday, a dear sister in the LORD sent me a FB message of a Youtube video from the Christian worship team, Housefires. The song is entitled Jesus What A Savior. (Kably, Kirby. "Jesus What A Savior". By Kirby Kably. We Say Yes. Housefires Music. 2107. YouTube). I know this sister hears from the LORD so it wasn’t just a FB message. I am sure she was inclined by the Spirit of the LORD to share it with me. This song has such a sweet presence of Jesus on it. I listened to it over and over. REPEAT. I have the heart of a worshipper so very rarely do I listen to an anointed song once. By about the third listen, I had the song in my heart and had really entered worship. Before I even knew what was happening I was on the floor crying, sobbing. I was praying from my heart because no words could even flow. It was just tears and sobs. I wasn’t just sobbing. I was feeling my conversation with Jesus inwardly. I would think something and feel it and He would respond and I would feel it. I kept playing the song over and over because He was there with me. I wanted him to know my heart. Then the sobbing increased because I realized I didn’t know his heart like I should. I knew his heart for me but not for others.

Honestly, I have never really seen myself as a compassionate person. I know people who flow in compassion and I know that I don’t operate at that level but I was feeling something inside myself that is difficult to describe. As I worshipped and cried, I realized how much I needed his heart. A powerful verse in the song reveals, “Your heart it knows no borders knows no walls. Your constantly moving towards me with open arms”. (Kably, Kirby. "Jesus What A Savior". By Kirby Kably. We Say Yes. Housefires Music. 2107. YouTube). His heart has no borders-there are no walls. This is His love and nothing can separate us from it when we are IN HIM. (Nothing can separate us from the love of God found in Christ Jesus - Romans 8:39) He is the exact image of the invisible God. You can’t know God outside of Him and yet He demonstrates His heart through the most simple and profound ways at the same time-so that we may realize our deep need for Him. This went on for some time.

Then I realized I wanted to share the song. I was being so impacted by this time of worship. I shared it on social media and via private messages. Then I went back to it again. I played it repeatedly. I went back into prayer interceding for the President, the people of Texas, the nation, and the church. I knew I heard Jesus speaking to me saying, “I need you to know (by experience) you are Christ (the anointed One) to someone every day. Every time you go out to the lost world; you are Me to them. I need your hands, your feet, your body and your heart to demonstrate our Father’s love.” I am sobbing more as I think of how the people in Texas and all over that region are “loving” one another by serving one another through simple but profound acts that determine life and death. SELAH.

Then a random thought came to my mind. I remembered when I taught history in a Christian school and we did a lesson describing a time of revival. The textbook mentioned a novel by Charles Sheldon, In His Steps published in 1896. It was the inspiration for the WWJD faith fad that was prevalent during that time. Instead of just glossing over it, I decided my students and I would read his book. The novel is about an challenge given by the pastor of a community church. He gave a sermon that turned into a movement. This community with church members from all walks of life committed to seriously contemplate what Jesus would do with daily decisions in their lives for an entire year. During the height of the modern day movement you could find the acronym on everything. Today you can still find it in some stores or online. I doubt that many people have heard of the novel, read it or knew roots of the phrase. It is a simple but profound concept. It isn’t just the mental contemplation of what would Jesus do, a very westernized approach, but rather it is an action orientated experience of walking IN HIS STEPS. Jesus was talking to me about this experience of walking in his steps. The words of the song and the images from the media coverage in Texas had stirred my heart so deeply. I sobbed and prayed some more.

I asked for forgiveness for my hardness of heart. I knew that recent current events (Charlottesville and the protests) had created hardness in my heart. My whole heart wasn’t hard but there were areas. The amount of hate and racism that is pervading the culture is unnerving. It is tangible. Really it is, sad but true. (And then there was a hurricane named Harvey. SELAH). Now I felt the need for forgiveness. I also felt a deep need to have Jesus’ heart. I kept crying and saying “Lord, I don’t have your heart.” Then he reminded me of some other things that I had done in obedience. Things that aren’t public knowledge nor my current FB status. These were things that demonstrated His heart. I felt conflicted, but grateful that there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. In some ways, I did have his heart but I heard him saying, “I am enlarging your capacity for Me.” It was a word that I had received from Him a few months ago: enlarge your tent. I did not fully understand what He meant then, but I understood more now. Not all, but more.

You might be wondering, all this happened while you were listening to a ten-minute worship song. Well, yes because it was worship and I had entered something spiritual. I played it over and over until He came and sat down in my worship. Then I just sat at His feet. Ten minutes had turned into a couple of hours. Singing, praying, crying and sobbing. I would stop crying long enough to sing and worship and then I would feel Him moving in my heart and I would just start sobbing again.

In all that I realized many things, some of which I don't know consciously now but I know I received a revelation of Jesus. It was a revelation of His love and heart that I had not known. (“The Jesus I knew was handing me the Jesus I didn’t know and was saying this is Me”. Bishop T.D. Jakes- Paradigm Shift). The experience is a bit of something that is still difficult to describe. It makes me think of the first scripture in the book of Revelation. In the Amplified Bible, it reads:

This is the revelation of Jesus Christ [His unveiling of the divine mysteries] God gave it to HIM to disclose and make known to HIS bond servants certain things which must shortly and speedily come to pass in their entirety. And He sent and communicated it through His angel (messenger) to HIS bond servant John. (Revelation 1:1 The Amplified Bible)

One day while reading this scripture, I got a revelation. The Book of Revelation is not John’s revelation but Jesus’ revelation. He disclosed it to John. He shared it with John to share with the rest of us. We need Jesus’ revelation and perspective. THE REVELATION OF JESUS. We need to see what He is seeing; what the Father is revealing. THE REVELATION OF JESUS. The revelation of all that He is, is constantly unfolding. It is perpetual. THE REVELATION OF JESUS. A knowing of His heart and His love that compels us to act beyond ourselves and our security on behalf of someone else. THE REVELATION OF JESUS.

The Apostle Paul expressed it this way…” I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord….and be found in Him not having my own righteousness…that I might know Him and the power of his resurrection…but I press on that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.” (Philippians 3:8-12 NKJV. I could have quoted all of verses 8 through 12 but this is already longer than I thought it would be!! I encourage you to read the passage in its entirety).

THE REVELATION OF JESUS. Jesus is the Alpha and Omega; He is the beginning and the end. He knew what his earthly assignment would require and He choose to love through death. His death gave us life eternal. No greater love. Jesus what a Savior.

Identity Revisited: Discovery

***I originally wrote this last year to be posted in a blog I write with three other Christian Women (pro31womenscompendium.com). I never submitted the post because I felt it was incomplete. Now it is complete. The original title was Identity. However, I changed the title because I had to add some thoughts recently revealed.

From the womb to the tomb and sometimes beyond that, we are given what I will call identifiers. These identifiers are labels, names, terms, blessings and curses that become associated and connected to us as individuals. For example:

birth

boy or girl

black or white

long or short

skinny or fat

cute or ugly

peaceful or ornery

And that short list can happen within 24 hours of your birth! So what happens when we have years of this mess just piled up on our subconscious, our spirit.

Recently, (at the original writing) during a prayer meeting, I heard the Holy Spirit say “you don’t see yourself as God sees you…” Selah. There is no argument there. As believers we are to find our identity in Christ Jesus. The book of Ephesians is full of “in Him” scriptures that testify to the spiritual reality of believers functioning as Christ’s Body in the earth. Again, there is no argument there. However, what if the Holy Spirit was really referencing not just spiritual origin, but original intent or maybe better said as original design.

Our lives are full of concepts that are so far from the original intent of the Father; remember we are living in a fallen world in need of restoration & redemption. Honestly, for some of us, by the time we are awakened to the gift of salvation, we have been through so much of life that salvation is literally a new birth. It is not only a birthing of our spirit but I want to suggest it is a new birth of our soul as well. Our spirit becomes alive to God and yet our mind, emotions and will have to be transformed. This is the part of salvation and redemption that can get folks sitting on opposite sides of a fence. Once we receive our gift of salvation, I earnestly believe we begin this journey of discovering who Father created us to be…and this identity goes beyond simply our function as part of the body of Christ. This identity goes all the way back to the very breath of God…the original design and intent of the Creator.

Job 33: 4

“ The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”

In our culture so much of our identity is wrapped up in the accumulation of these identifiers. The list just grows and grows. Add-ons come from our education, our career, our community affiliation, our social status, our ethnicity …even our computer usernames! If I have to create another personal ID…seriously! Really what does it all mean? In my humble opinion, it means that we are so easily distracted by what is truly unimportant that there is a lack of sensitivity and discernment to see what truly is important. At the end of the day, we are created beings of a benevolent Creator. Father is the Creator and we are the created. He knows far more about who we are then we do or any given day. We must discover who it is that He created us to be. That is not an easy task. It is full of falsehood and deceptions planted by an enemy of our soul. Only through the power of the Spirit of God and a seed of faith do we stumble into the truth that can set our soul free. It is called a faith walk. A walk is a simple step at a time.

At the original time of this writing, I was struggling with who I believed God had “called” me to be.

(Side bar- revelation: I am not a calling, I am a creation) Reflecting back, I can now see how the Father was working out the things in my soul that where not in alignment with who He had “created” me to be. Several years ago the Father revealed that I was His Beloved. I thought WOW, I need to Be-Loved. Then later He revealed that I was His daughter. Again WOW, I needed to be Fathered. Throughout this journey, I have realized that it has been a process of Him awakening me to the essence of who I am in HIM. It has been a removing of layers of false identities found in my achievements, careers and life roles. None of those false identities were even close to what He has wanted to reveal in me. I received who He called me to be as His Beloved. I am continuing to walk in what it means to be-loved unconditionally. Love is eternal, therefore this revelation is never-ending. I recently discovered why He revealed that I was His daughter. As his daughter, He was fathering my soul. He was healing the wounded areas of my heart. Wounds not simply from the lack of a father role in my life, but a much broader healing that encompassed any wound that was keeping me bound and captive.

Recently, I heard a favorite minister of mine reveal that our soul is characteristically feminine but our spirit is characteristically masculine. I won’t even try to explain. I pray you catch it in the Spirit. However, if you look into scripture you will see a slight delineation. Adam was created with Eve inside of Him. She was taken out of him. That means there was a part of Adam that was characteristically feminine. It’s deep, I know, but I kept meditating on this. After a few days, I sensed the Spirit wanting to open up my understanding to the process the Father was working IN me.

In a moments of reflection, I saw all the different identities I had attached myself to in order to find acceptance, love and validation. (No need to list them. I hope you are getting the picture.) All to no avail. It wasn’t until the Father started to reveal to me His thoughts that I began to unmask and walk away from the falsehoods. Finally, I have come to realize that as the daughter of God, He fathers my soul to keep it free of bondage, but the time has come for me to walk in my sonship. What kind of son? A son of the Spirit.

Romans 8:14

For as many as are lead by the Spirit of God they are the sons of God.

John 1:12

But to as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

I am a Daughter of God and a Son of the Spirit. IDENTITY DISCOVERED!!!

Enlarge Your Tent

Recently, I was reminiscing about when my husband and I were looking for a new home. We had looked at so many homes; new construction, old construction, newly renovated, and even the fixer upper. Exhausting. It is an emotionally tedious task to buy a home. I was totally resistant to purchasing a home that was a fixer upper or was under construction. Nothing about being “under” construction appeals to me. The thought of being “under” construction is just that being “under” everything that it entails: drywall, dust, nails, screws, and metal framing. I am the sort of girl who likes things organized and ordered. I could not see myself living in middle of a renovation or re-construction. It is against my nature. It would have been misery. Needless to say, we did not buy a house that needed renovation. My remembrance of all this makes what I about to share even more revealing.

About two weeks ago I was ministering to a dear friend about increasing her capacity for God. I sensed the LORD telling me that our spirits ‘as spirit’ have an unlimited capacity for God. We cannot contain all of Him but we have the capacity to flow in more of him than we know. Our spirits expand, transform and conform to the image of Christ from the inside out. We must speak to our spirit, spirit words, that will cause it to respond to the incorruptible seed of the Word of God. After some reflection on the importance of increasing the capacity of my spirit, I heard the Lord say, “enlarge your tent”. I knew the phrase was from Isaiah 54:2. At first I was not sure what the Lord was saying to me. Interestingly, I do have a present situation that it is speaking to and trust me it was not what I wanted to hear. Just keeping it real. Therefore, I continued to meditate on the word and just kept asking the LORD what He was saying because I didn’t want the surface, religious traditional interpretation. Usually that is what surfaces first in my consciousness when I hear something from the Lord, but I have learned to listen more intently. It is important to keep knocking, keep asking, keep seeking for the deeper revelation. He will reveal what He desires when we do. Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. Kings seek the glory out. Kings seek out the revelation.

Father is doing something supernatural in His daughters; those daughters that are looking to be transformed into the image of Christ. What no one really wants to talk about is the fact that to be transformed and conformed there must be a death. Isaiah is prophesying to barren Israel and telling her to prepare for children.

Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes

The prophet is speaking to the nation at the time, but the Word of God speaks to our lives personally and corporately when we have ears to hear. This word spoke to me both personally and corporately. I am going to share the meaning He revealed corporately for His daughters.

A barren woman preparing for children seems like an oxymoron. Commentaries state that the prophet was speaking to the entrance of the Gentiles into the Kingdom of God. I am not commenting on that…I believe that is true. However, I believe this word is a corporate word for His daughters. Barrenness in biblical times was indicative of the absence of God’s blessing upon a life. A barren woman lived under a “societal” curse. Most of us are familiar with one or more biblical accounts of barren women. Father is speaking to something else -there is barrenness that is not simply physical but also spiritual.

We are in a season when Father wants His daughters to get rid of their spiritual barrenness. Spiritual barrenness comes from the inability to bring forth spiritual seed. An Inability to birth spiritual seed means, in the most general terms, that you are not willing to count the cost. Jesus said, “except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lost it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto eternal life.” (John 12:24) In order to give birth to fruitfulness a death must occur, fruitfulness comes from a dying to self.

Most of us daughters have missed fruitfulness in our lives because we were unwilling to die to something for the fruit to come forth. We stay in barrenness because our own wounds keep us from giving birth. When you give birth, your energy all of it, is focused on the seed coming forth. Not yourself. Not your own needs. Fruitfulness comes from self-LESS-ness. Father wants his daughters to prepare for spiritual births, fruitfulness. He is going to get rid of the barren areas of our lives as we are willing to give birth to His will in the earth. Giving birth to His will requires radical obedience. Our wills are relinquished to His will, so that fruit in the Kingdom can come forth.

Many daughters will birth things in the spirit; things they have never even imagined. Much of which they will not even know on this side of heaven. Some of it will be revealed in the ages to come. Daughters, our tents must be enlarged. The stakes will be strengthened and there will be an increase in the Kingdom because of our obedience. Our willingness is created in the spirit in “secret place” intimacy with the Father. Barrenness and unfruitfulness will be a thing of the pass because the time of birthing has arrived-there is a pull of the Spirit that compels us to endure whatever is necessary to bring His seed to birth. This is what we are being groomed and fashioned for. We are “under” construction. Not only warriors but also warriors with a womb. Those who fear the LORD, like the Hebrew midwives, will bring to birth regardless of the cost. In the natural, there isn’t much appeal to a house that is “under” construction unless you have vision to see what will come forth if there is a completion of the work.

Daughters of God, enlarge your spirit and capacity for His will for you. Enlarge your tent and prepare for a death and a birth. It seems counterproductive, but unless the corn of wheat die it abide alone.

ENLARGE YOUR TENT

Your Book Is Written

Several weeks ago, the Lord started to speak to me about His books. In a relatively short time, I had two different conversations where two familiar scriptures were discussed. I don’t think this is just happenstance. Nothing just happens. So, I knew I needed to take some time to meditate on the scriptures Psalm 139:15-18 and Malachi 3:15-18. King David the psalmist says,

Your eyes saw my substance, being yet informed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me. When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You.

The prophet Malachi reveals another aspect of God’s authorship in this passage:

Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who meditate on His name. ‘They shall be Mine’, says the LORD of hosts, ‘On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him. Then you shall discern between the righteous and the wicked between on who serves God and the one who does not serve him.’

These scriptures speak about books written in heaven. There is a book already written for every human that has ever been on the earth. The books don’t stop there, the Father continues to record the words that we speak concerning Him. As we gather and speak of His goodness a book of remembrance is written. Think about it, each of us is important enough to God that he wrote about us before we were even born and then continues to record things about our lives. This means not one of us is insignificant.

My ponderings about books written did not stop there. This past weekend I watched a live web stream of a writers’ conference (#writeit2017 w/ Apostle John Eckhardt)that was so inspiring. For this aspiring author, it was much needed encouragement. One of the speakers, really spoke “my language” when she taught about her method of journaling. That sister is serious about journaling. (You can check her out on her FB fan page MaShani Allen) I thought I was a pretty serious journaler (Is this a word? LOL). I use various types and styles of journals for various things. In the past, I would use one or two journals at a time, but then I realized it was too difficult to track different topics. For example, if I need to look for a dream in a journal with various other notes and prophetic words it is tedious. However, separating the journals topically keeps it all in order.

(This is my excuse for having so many journals! Smile.) This sister had journals for everything. This is where my sister took it to another level. She taught on her method of categorizing her journals. I just loved it! Those of us who journal love paper, pens, pencils and think that recording or chronicling important events is not crazy, it’s necessary. As I have argued before, I think God is serious about recording events as well. He is not just the Author of the Bible. He is the author of many heavenly books including our personal books. He is the author of our testimony scrolls. (Psalm 40:7, Psalm 56:8, Exodus 24:4,7-12)

In her book, Unveiling Ancient Paths: Testimony Scrolls, Jennifer Newton states, “a testimony scroll, by definition, is man’s written will and purpose for existence, the mandate spoken by the Lord before the foundations of the earth as part of the restoration of creation and relationship with God.” ( pg. 52) She continues to clarify its meaning by stating, “the scroll of testimony, described often as a book in the bible, carries the key to man’s existential dilemma. It is within this holy and sacred scroll that our purpose and blueprints of God’s divine and perfect will for our lives is stored. Every person, creature and geographic space has its own testimony scroll to be carried out…” (pg.40)

This may seem surprisingly strange. That is a lot of books! Thankfully, there is scripture to support this. God had plans for us before he released us into our mother’s womb. Ephesians 2:10 in the Amplified Bibles says,

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship) recreated in Christ Jesus,

[born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking pather which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

We say it often, don’t we…God has a plan. YES HE HAS A PLAN. Father has pre-planned some things for us. Good things. Good paths. Are we walking according to his plan? Are we on the same PAGE with HIM? It is said this way in Romans 8:29-30;

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

We were known beforehand, predestined to be conformed to Christ, called, justified and glorified! That is good news! Christ died for ALL! But all have not received.

Newton suggests that “our testimony scroll is the predestination and the purpose that was given for us before the foundations of the earth.” (pg. 65). However, we all have free will. The Father does not force us down the path He planned for us, the good path, we must choose to walk this path. Most of us are not even aware of the thoughts that God has toward us but the best way to start finding out is to read His word. As we meditate upon His word and learn His ways and thoughts, the Spirit reveals to us the things that are freely given to us. The Spirit reveals His thoughts toward us personally.

Last month, this word was burning in my heart. I was preparing for an online bible study when the Holy Spirit said, “change of plans”. Instead of sharing the lesson I had originally prepared, I spoke about “destiny scrolls”. Here is the kicker, I had attempted to take this teaching live on FB. I had done everything I thought was necessary to get this “word” out through the ministry FB page. I sensed the anointing on the word. I perceived that the Lord was emphasizing this as an important Kingdom reality and not enough believers understood it. Long story short, I finished the teaching but when I went back to listen to it, the sound was altered by some annoying clicking sound. I still don’t know what the sound was. I was very frustrated at this turn of events. I knew that this assignment was part of my testimony or destiny scroll. It was like a fire inside me. An appointed time comes for a purpose of the scroll, the calling arises then we must choose to walk in obedience as it is revealed. I had walked in partial obedience. I recorded the lesson and made prophetic declarations as I was instructed by the Lord but I eventually deleted the video because the sound was so annoyingly distorted. In hindsight, I should not have deleted the video. That is why I say my obedience was partial. I was more self-aware than aware of what God wanted. He could have fixed the sound supernaturally. I was more concerned with what others thought than my simple obedience.

We will be held accountable for what the Lord has given to us (i.e. the parable of the talents). Our obedience cannot be dependent upon circumstances or the actions of others. In the fullness of time, our excuses will not be sufficient. My meditation on the above-mentioned scriptures paired with the recent writer’s conference, has confirmed what I already knew but wasn’t fully acknowledging and walking out in my own life. My book is already written. The book that God wrote concerning my life, my calling and my purpose for being released into the earth is already written. But not just that book, every book I am called to write is already written because the Father has already written it of me. Just as He did with his beloved Son, he did for me, his beloved daughter. There is a scroll that has my past present and future already written. There is a volume that is already written of me. I have a choice to enter what my Father has prophesied over my life or to go my own way. Many of us struggle to find our identity in this life. I know that my identity is fully known in Him; but today I have a determined resolution (word play- double emphasis) that His recorded thoughts of me are mine to walk out. His thoughts toward me are innumerable. Selah. My days upon this earth were important enough to be recorded by His heavenly scribes. Selah. So that when His Kairos moments for me are revealed, I can know what He has said and declared and I am assured in my heart that my book is already written.

Seek Him first because of who He is and then seek to hear what He has declared concerning your days, your calling and your purpose because your book is written!

From the Time of the Decree...

This past Sunday Robert Heidler, from Glory of Zion, taught from the book of Daniel exhorting believers to learn from the prophet’s example of how to open the door to revelation so that change can come to a nation. It was a powerful teaching. There was much to meditate on and pray back to the Father for revelation. It is a sure word from the Spirit for believers. As I listened to the teaching, Holy Spirit impressed upon me a phrase from the foundation scripture of the Robert’s teaching- Daniel 9:25.

“So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress.” NASB

“Know and understand this: from the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince will be seven weeks and 62 weeks. It will be rebuilt with a plaza and a moat, but in difficult times.” HCSB

From the issuing of the decree…from the time of the decree just kept resonating in my heart.

It is interesting to note that Chuck Pierce has issued a prayer focus on decreeing over our land and boundaries for the first 10 days of March. Not a coincidence. There are no coincidences in the Spirit. However, what the Lord was impressing upon me as I listened to the teaching was the importance of the decree, the release of the decree and the revelation of what happens when the decree is made.

We are part of a Kingdom that is established by the word that is proceeding from the mouth of the Father. His word and His decree is what established all that exists in the seen and the unseen. Even evil does not exist unless He allows it. The enemy is still here because God has appointed a time for his destruction. The decree of a King establishes what is and what shall be. It not only affects the present but also the future. There are many examples in scripture, but it is interesting that Holy Spirit is instructing us in this at this specific season, namely Purim. Purim is a Jewish celebration of the reversal of the enemy’s decree against the people of God. Purim is celebrated in the month of Adar; this month is all about celebrating the joy of deliverance by the hand of God and the annihilation of your enemy! There are seasons in life when deliverance seems like an impossibility, like that of the Jews and Esther, but Purim reminds us that with God nothing is impossible. The deliverance of the Hebrew people came by the reversal of a decree. In a kairos moment in time, Esther was able to approach the King and receive a decree that superseded the decree of the enemy of the Jews, Haman.

Everything changed from the issuing of the decree of Esther’s husband, the King. What the enemy, Haman, thought he had accomplished was reversed, overturned and then made right because of the decree. Deliverance came because of the issuing of the decree!

A kingdom operates from the issuing of the word of a king. Our Lord, the Christ, is King of kings and Lord of lords. He has made US kings and priest to His God and Father. (Rev. 1:6) We can operate in this realm of delegated authority and issue God’s decree that reverses the curse of the enemy!

Now the question is…what are you decreeing in this set time? Scripture states there is a set time for judgment to be released in our favor. (Dan. 7:22) There is a set time for the issuing of the God’s decree…a set time to agree with God! A set time to release the word of the Lord! NOW faith is!

Kings and priest of God Most High let's exercise our legal authority in the kingdom and agree with God of All creation and issue His decree. Proclaim His Word, the logos and the rhema, that will bring a reversal of what the enemy has attempted to bring about in our life.

The set time is NOW!

P.S. Here is an example of a decree I wrote and prayed for day three of the 10 day prayer focus with Glory of Zion.

Day Three: Ezra 9, Psalm 81: I decree revival in my family and over my inheritance in Jesus name. Father let your Spirit be poured out upon all flesh in my family. Thank you for restoration and for change, for the suddenly and for an open heaven over my life, my family, my inheritance and my ministry. Thank you Father that the spirit of revival will flow from generation to generation in Jesus name. The River is flowing and bursting its banks. As I open my mouth wide Father you have promised to fill it. As I speak as the oracle of God, Holy Spirit you confirm the word with signs and wonders following. I thank you Jesus for all that you are doing and all that you will do not only today but tomorrow and in the days to come. Thank you for the newness, the new thing springing forth in my family in Jesus name. Thank you Father for giving us a measure of revival even in the midst of our bondage, but I ask you for the abundance of rain upon your people your remnant oh God. May your people experience the fullness of your Spirit and the supernatural workings of your Kingdom in Jesus name.

A Host of Hidden Figures

This past Christmas, Twentieth Century Fox, released a powerful story that revealed the genius of a “hidden” group of African American women and their impact on NASA and U.S. aeronautical program. This movie is based on the book/brain child of author/entrepreneur Margot Lee Shetterly. Ms. Shetterly did the hard work of researching this important story of African American History. The reviews have been remarkable! This story depicts the power of intelligent women willing to be passionate about who they are regardless of the societal norms that constrict freedom. There are far too many meaningful themes within the film to attempt to expound them here. There isn’t enough time, and I probably wouldn’t do it justice. But who knew that this story was out there…a host of hidden figures (voices) that had changed the course of American History.

I watched the movie and have been encouraging others to see it because it is such an uplifting film. Any good film, if it’s worth its salt, will provoke thoughts and reflection. This film made me think of how so many people do remarkable things, yet go unnoticed living in obscurity. Recently, our political scene has caused another group of women to come out from behind the scenes. Without focusing on the political issues, the fact remains, passionate women came out so that their voices could be heard. It made me think of a host of hidden figures coming out from behind the scenes.

Shortly after watching Hidden Figures, I watched another film about another woman, Dinah, a daughter of the Hebrew patriarch Jacob distinguished by name in the biblical text. The film is called The Red Tent and it is based on a book by Anita Diamant. It chronicles the story of Dinah-in her own words. It follows the biblical account, but emphasizes it as told in the voice of Dinah. Imagine that? What I thought was so amazing was the fact that I had never thought about what her thoughts may have been through those chapters of Genesis. The fact remains, she had some! Here again, the phrase ‘hidden figure’ came to mind. Dinah experienced a life that could be considered a modern-day soap opera, yet most of us have little to no interest in how she was processing the events of her life. Unfortunately, this is the fate of far too many intelligent, beautiful, daughters of God-living lives as hidden figures with voices that are silenced by a society entrenched in its own prejudices.

God is always speaking. Unfortunately, all too often we limit the ways in which He can speak. He can speak to anyone in any way that He chooses because He is God. The real issue is whether we are listening. Are we seeking to perceive what He is saying without our own preconceived ideas altering the reception? I don’t think so. I find it challenging to move my own pressing thoughts out of the way to hear Him clearly. (It is a discipline of willful intent.) Not because His voice is undiscernible but because of the discipline necessary to shut down the other voices competing with His preeminence. Yet, this is what He has called every child of God to do, to be in such communion with Him that the thought at the forefront of all we do is based on what He is saying to us. This blog is most often about just that…listening to hear what He is saying and simply sharing what is heard.

Recent events keep confirming to me that the Lord is mobilizing His people in a new way. He is bringing forth what was ordained from the beginning of time and it won’t look like what we think. At the center of this mobilization, He is calling forth a host of hidden figures. Yes, I am borrowing the title of this important movie because I heard the LORD speaking through it. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit saying that there are hidden figures that are being positioned to change the course of history- His Story. It is about His Kingdom being manifested in the earth. A huge portion of this host are daughters of God.

Last year I had a dream in May after Mother’s Day that was a corporate word for women.

This morning I saw two pictures of maybe visions because of there was movement. The first picture was of a group of women on a theatre moving like a marching band. The group was dressed in suits of crimson. (The blood of Jesus Christ). The styles of the suits looked different but as the women moved into different formations the suits looked the same. I could not hear anything but from the picture I perceived that they were hearing a sound of a cadence that mad them move into formation. The next picture was of the same group but then the scene had changed. I am not sure how to describe it. It was not a theatre. I was an open space but the group looked like they were superimposed over it in different places. The clothes had changed to ordinary clothes and the movement was of praise. Again, I didn’t hear anything so I am perceiving it as praise based on how the women were moving. Some were dancing, some clapping, some stomping, jumping. Each was doing something different but there was still a rhythm and a synchrony.

This is the interpretation I received.

Many women have experienced many transitions. This has been the Spirit of the Lord brining us into a proper formation for what He has for each of us to accomplish for the Kingdom. We are not all the same. We have different expressions but as the Spirit moves us we are moving in synchronicity with Him and the differences are not apparent. We are hearing sounds that are apparent by our obedience to move as directed by the Spirit. There is a sound of the Spirit, a sound of praise that the Spirit is bringing forth in the body of Christ that is not only a weapon but also a sound that is causing formation and unity to those hearing it and that are willing to move into greater freedom in praise in worship.

I believe the vision that I had speaks to the mobilizing of hidden figures. Everyday daughters of God that love a King named Jesus Christ and are willing to simply obey the voice of their
Father. In the movie, those women for the most part, stayed in obscurity. It is only now that we are learning of the tremendous impact their lives played in American History among some of the most honored events of the twentieth century. I propose that the same will be true of some hidden figures in the Kingdom of God. There is a host of hidden figures that have discovered who they are and whose they are. Hidden figures that have a voice and a weapon in the Spirit. This discovery has compelled them to no longer be silent, not a voice clamoring in the streets, but a herald heard in the spirit and the Kingdom- preparing the way for the coming of the King. This host is empowered by its Creator and His Spirit and it will be a force to be “reckoned” with (to count, to compute, to calculate, to esteem, to depend on or rely on as in expectation). While most may remain in obscurity here in this earthly realm, they will be known in His Kingdom and in the ages to come.

The Real Daniel Fast

Sometimes it is difficult to figure out what a “Christian” colloquialism really means. All too often words are meted down to the least common denominator usually to the reader’s disadvantage. Christianize, “church lingo”, has become a mainstay in religious culture. Secular culture has taken language and made it a quick study of crude consonants minus the vowels, while creatively disabling our youth in formal expression. Words are powerful and they mean something; usually more than just one thing, too. Christian culture has also found itself amidst the crowd by dumbing down scripture into whatever we want it to mean.

I was going about my day on autopilot, when I heard Holy Spirit say…the real Daniel fast. The phrase “Daniel fast” is familiar to most believers, but I had a hunch that the adjective “real” was speaking of much more than food restrictions of vegetables and water. The phrase has become a colloquialism in Christian culture. It is an example of one of those things that has been oversimplified, meted down to a health fad in error of the true significance and character of the actions of a prophet of God.

Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar captured Daniel when he was just a teenager. Daniel served four kings while in captivity, yet he still fulfilled his call and purpose in his generation. This simple example should exhort us to note that God’s purpose is not thwarted by the actions of man and political systems. God actually used Daniel and his companions, Shadrach Meshach and Abednego several times to reveal His sovereignty to those who were ruling. God alone rules in heaven and earth; even during election seasons.

Daniel 2:21

And He changes times and seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.

So as I pondered what the Lord wanted me to discover about this phrase, “the real Daniel fast”, I started to reread the book of Daniel. It is well known as a book with prophetic ramifications for our time and season, but I really wasn’t reading it from that perspective. I read just to glean from it what I felt the Lord wanted to impress upon my spirit. I do believe it is important for this time but for totally different reasons.

Here is what really stood out to me as I read this important book:

1. Daniel prayed often…which most of us know….3 times a day.

2. Daniel lived a holy life…he would not defile himself by eating from the king’s table.

3. Daniel was blessed with wisdom and understanding.

4. Daniel had dreams and visions.

5. Daniel recorded his visions.

6. Daniel was highly respected by the kings he served. He was Jewish royalty.

7. Daniel had favor with his superiors.

Long story short, Daniel was promoted to the highest ranks of the Babylonian empire, while in captivity. He continued to serve God, unashamed and without restraint regardless of the adverse circumstances. He was willing to suffer persecution even death rather than denounce the power and sovereignty of the Most High. His resolve resulted in the kings of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, Beltshazzar, and Darius, experiencing the power of God, Most High. Their testimony became one that gave honor and praise to Daniel’s god. The Most High did not allow those that he allowed to come into power to bring harm or shame to his children.

So the question remains, what is the “real Daniel fast”?

Isaiah 58 may help us to see what the Father means when he calls us to fast and pray…

Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry and He will say, ‘Here I am’.

This is the real deal.

Father forgive us for making your holy word common and not holding it in its proper esteem. Forgive us for walking in presumption and not walking in fear and trembling. Forgive us for pride and arrogance. Help us to know your heart, to understand what you are requiring of us as sons and daughters. Help us to do the thing that pleases you…in Jesus name.

A real Daniel fast will include the characteristics of the prophet of God who changed the world in which he lived by his obedience at all cost. It will require the admonition found in Isaiah…to loose bonds of wickedness to break every yoke. That sounds a lot like the spiritual warfare that Daniel experienced as he set himself to pray and repent on behalf of his people.

I heard this before the election and I believe that the Lord still means what He says. He has called us as sons and daughters to be agents of change that impacts our community and society. This purpose is fulfilled primarily when we take our call to prayer seriously. Many months ago, when I blogged about being election ready, I sensed that the Lord was performing an election of His own. The Father is doing a work of separation in the work of His people. It is a work of holiness. Holiness is not about perfection, only God is perfect (those are Jesus’ words, not mine); holiness is about being separated to God, like Daniel even in the midst of a culture that was adverse to his beliefs. He impacted his culture because he was separated unto His God first through His life of prayer. Everything else stemmed from that.

In that blog, “Are You Election Ready”…the message was about our identity as kings and priests in the Kingdom of God. I believe that it is more than necessary for us as believers to embrace our identity as sons of God; it is imperative. Our obedience will impact our future and so will our disobedience. As we move into the New Year and Christian fellowships encourage the spiritual discipline of fasting, I pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to every heart to not only put the flesh under but also exemplify the actions expressed in Isaiah 58. This word that I am sharing is to me first. I know that more than once I have fasted with the promise of ten pounds lost rather than the deliverance of a loved one. Just telling the truth. The Lord is calling me to a more separated life, a fasted life where I am compelled to pray for the person at Walmart and be the witness he has called me to be in this earth. This is the fast that He is calling me to. I am sharing this because maybe He is calling more of his children to the fast of the prophet of God.

1. Pray often…remember pray without ceasing.

2. Be separated to God…submit to God resist the devil

3. Receive the wisdom and understanding from above…wisdom that is first peaceable.

4. Expect divine direction through dreams and visions…the Spirit being poured out on all flesh.

5. Record the word of the Lord to you…tremble at His word, He is God of the Universe.

6. Live as a citizen of the Kingdom: Royalty…king and priest.

7. Allow God’s favor to lead you exactly where He needs you to be… All things work together for our good.

Living this fasted life will produce the results. God is not mocked: sow to the spirit reap in the spirit. Daniel’s fast is the one of the best examples of the Isaiah 58 fast; the type that God desires from his children. The fast that will cause Light to break forth and Glory to be a rear guard! We call out to Him and He answers…Here I am. Selah.

I felt compelled to repost this original post from December of 2015. I pray that Holy Spirit will bear witness with your spirit the signs of the times. I pray the Lord Jesus Christ would reveal and manifest his plan and purpose for your life. I pray that the Father would continue to reveal by His Spirit the things that are freely given to us by His Spirit in Jesus Name. It is a time for each of us to press into our Kingdom purpose and to deepen our relationship with Jesus and Holy Spirit. Grace and peace.

Resurrection Power

I have not written a post in some time. I really haven't even looked at the blog for a while. I haven't been too busy and I can't say that the Father hasn't been speaking, because He has. I don't know... I just haven't necessarily felt like I wanted to post anything until yesterday. I am still processing this...which seems like something I say often but it is simply the truth. I prefer to share it when it is fresh, before I start to over analyze what I am hearing. One thing I find interesting is that my last post had to do with the Resurrection.

So I was spending some time in worship yesterday, singing this song I heard this week that I just enjoy-Skeleton Bones by John Mark McMillan. It is an unusual song with unusual lyrics. But this is the same brother in the Lord who gave us Oh How He Loves Us...so we all know how many worshippers have enjoyed that song. Song seems like the wrong word maybe psalm is more appropriate. Anyway. This song is about the resurrection power of God in Christ Jesus. I was probably listening to it the last time I posted. LOL. I want to post a link to the lyrics because without it what I have to say won't really make sense. (I thought about putting all the lyrics myself, but then the post would be too long. I am wordy enough already!)

So here is a song talking about bones that have to stand and recognize the glory of the risen Christ. The resurrection power of God that raised up Christ and opened up tombs in Jerusalem still affects everything in creation. Why am I saying this? This is what came to me as I was worshipping the Lord. Remember...I am still processing...

The Lord told Mary and Martha at Lazarus' tomb...I AM the Resurrection and the Life. (John 11). This was a difficult time for his friends and if you remember the biblical account, Jesus purposely delayed his arrival once he heard the news that Lazarus was sick. I looked at the verse in several translations...the Aramaic Bible in Plain English reads:

Yeshua, said to her, "I AM THE LIVING GOD, The Resurrection and The Life, whoever trusts in me even if he dies, he shall live." WOW...

Then I was thinking Lord, this is really deep. Then I had the thought wait a minute this is before Jesus even dies. He declares that He is the Resurrection long before He paid the price for our salvation. He declares His deity and identity as the Son of God...the God-man with resurrection power before He is resurrected by God after his crucifixion. Is there anyone besides me who had never thought about this?

Is this why the Apostle Paul says in Philippians 3:10 , "that I might know Him and the power of His resurrection?"

I have been listening to a minister, Katie Souza of Expected End Ministries, and she has a revelation about the resurrection power of Christ that I have not really heard preached before. Generally speaking, she teaches about the healing of the soul. Some believers don't acknowledge the need for healing in the soul and I am not going to debate it here. I encourage you to read Isaiah 53 and look into some of her teachings. They are powerful and controversial! Needless to say, her teachings have impacted me and piqued something in me about the resurrection power of Christ. If the Apostle Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament by revelation of the Spirit since He didn't actually walk with Jesus, says He prays that HE MIGHT KNOW HIM and the POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION - what does that say about the revelation that has yet to be understood? I am not here to teach her revelation about the resurrection...look into it...please! I just want to share what I was pondering while listening to this powerful song.

Jesus said He is the Resurrection and the Life long before He was raised from the dead. So when we read in Scripture that he descended, held captivity captive, made a open show of principalities and powers, disarming them and then was raised up by the power of God with ALL POWER and seated at the right hand of the majesty on HIGH....what actually happened in the spirit realm and in the natural if tombs were opened in Jerusalem? Selah.

I wish I could say that this is the first time I heard this question but it isn't. I heard a deliverance teaching on iniquities by Anna Mendez and she posed the question. What do we as believers, BELIEVE, actually took place when Jesus Christ died, went to hell and then was resurrected with ALL POWER? Could all this have happened and nothing actually change the entire cosmos? If the entire sky blackened when Jesus gave up his spirit and the veil at the temple was torn...what happened in the cosmos? What is the revelation of the power of His resurrection that Paul is talking about?

Back to the song lyrics...peel back our ribs again and stand inside of our chest. Wow! This is the kind of stuff that made disciples walk away from Jesus. Remember when Jesus said if you don't "eat of my flesh" and "drink of my blood"..you have no life in you. In the scriptures it says this saying was too hard...Jesus had went too far...and folks walked away because it had gotten to deep...too mystical. What was Jesus talking about? He was talking of oneness. Jesus was speaking of what he would pray for us in John 17...that we would be one in Him. So the lyrics are about oneness in Him.

When He rose with ALL POWER he had actually redeemed everything to God. (Colossians 1:20 and 2 Cor. 5:18) He had reconciled what had to be reconciled and He reigns. He is KING. I hope this is making sense. He IS KING. He isn't waiting to be King. He is waiting for all things to come under subjection to His kingship. 1 Cor. 15:25 and Heb. 2:8. He must reign...then when all things are made subject...He turns it all back over to God our Father.

Back to the song...open up your gates before Him and crown him...stand him up... Yesterday TV was talking about Stand up to Cancer (which is a great cause) but I was singing Jesus Stand up in ME! I crown you Jesus. Stand inside my chest. Let your blood flow through my veins and put your wind in my lungs. I just want to love you! Again the lyrics are about the oneness that has been given to us because of Jesus Christ's obedience to God.

Ephesians 1:19-20

"and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which to come. He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church...

As I listened and pondered the song, as I worshipped the King, I simply said, "Lord I crown you. Please show me where I have not crowned you. In what areas of my life are you not reigning?" See He is King and if He is not reigning it's because the will of people has not been surrendered. God does not force us to serve Him and neither does His Son. We must surrender. We must give him the rightful seat in our hearts. We must crown him and stand HIM UP in us!!!

If the Kingdom is not manifesting in our lives, in our churches, in our communities it is because we have not taken our rightful places in Him in ONENESS to cause all things to come under His authority. We have a part to play in the manifestation of the Kingdom, as SONS, just like He did when he walked the earth...as He is so are we in this world...He reigns now. He is King and he has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (Rev. 1:6)

Resurrection Glory

I am sharing a poem the Lord gave me in 2012 on Resurrection Sunday. It is funny how I have these creative pieces around as notes in journals and notebooks and even social media. I originally posted this to my Facebook page, but wanted to share it here since I have shared a few poems before. Celebrate the best gift ever given through a simple act of obedience of a son...His obedience opened the way for us to come home to our Father. We can now experience life everlasting and power from on high...amazing grace how sweet the sound!

Another Pregnant Year

Does that sound familiar to you? This blog has visited the "pregnant" year before. But before I go into that I want to talk about when my husband and I had our children. We married young and I was pregnant with our first child by our first anniversary. LOL and SMH. So I celebrated that anniversary with a 5 month belly. So romantic, right? Just imagine it (ladies). Well, before long another pregnant year came along. I found out we were expecting again. At that time our first baby was only 8 months old! God had a plan and we kept that pattern rolling like clock work. All of our children are 2 years apart! So there was always another pregnant year around the corner. I am thankful for God's amazing grace. Our quiver is truly blessed.

When a couple gets pregnant it is an exciting time. A time of waiting but with great expectancy, that is probably where we get the phrase..."we're expecting". This post isn't about pregnancy though, it is about the leap year. Interestingly enough, this year of 2016 is a leap year on both the Gregorian calendar and the Jewish calendar. During the last Jewish leap year, I blogged about the meaning of a "pregnant" year. So for this Jewish leap year of 2016 I am going to repost the post from March 2014 and hope that you are encouraged by the powerful meaning behind this unusual term for a leap year. A Jewish "pregnant year" can be very similar to a natural pregnancy because it is one that can be full of joy and expectancy.

FYI: I did not include everything from the first Pregnant Year post but you can go back and read the introduction or view the video clip if your are interested.

Today, March 11, is the beginning of Adar II which is the equivalent of our February 29. Instead of just adding a day, the Jewish calendar adds a month in order to have all the Feasts of the Lord fall during the appropriate seasons. Here is the excerpt from the A Pregnant Year post:

Here is what I learned about this season that we are in:

It's a time of great joy. It's a time of completion. It's a time of prophetic fulfillment. It's a time of glory, more glory! It's a time of victory despite opposition.

Ezra 6:15,16 reads, "And the house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king. And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy". (KJV).

The New Living Translation reads, "The Temple was completed on March 12, during the sixth year of King Darius' reign. The Temple of God was then dedicated with great joy by the people of Israel, the priests,the Levites and the rest of the people who had returned from exile."

The completion of the temple during the time of Ezra, Nehemiah, Zechariah and Haggai was a huge accomplishment of faith. It was the culmination of the fulfillment of God's Decree from King Cyrus and then King Darius along with the faithful actions of Nehemiah, Ezra and the people. The prophets Zechariah and Haggai were instrumental in keeping the people of God encouraged throughout the process of rebuilding. (Ezra 6:14). In biblical numerology, our New Year of 2014 is prophesied to be one of completion and double blessings because 7 means complete and 2 (or double) times 7 is fourteen. Here we see that the Jewish Leap Year is prophesying and proclaiming the same blessings! PROPHETIC ALIGNMENT.

Adar is the 12th month on the Jewish calendar and it represents completion. The word Adar is translated in Hebrew "exceedingly glorious". According to Jewish tradition, the pregnant year, is a year to expect victory over all forms of opposition! Can you see how the historical events of Nehemiah and the people of God sets the theme for this proclamation of victory? Against impossible odds and opposition the people of God were able to fulfill the decree of God made through King Cyrus and then Darius. This was after the rebuilding had stopped because of opposition and the king's original decree was found in the king's treasury! (Ezra 6:1-12). We are in a season to continue to decree the word of the Lord over our lives believing that the King's decree is established. God's word does not return to him void! It accomplishes what it is sent forth to do! ( Isaiah 55:11,12). The Word of God, the King's Decree promises to bring us out with joy.

Finally, this season of Adar II includes the festival of Purim which celebrates the God's deliverance of his people from the evil plot of Haman through the faith filled actions of Queen Esther. Esther 4:13-16 reveals the Queen's response on behalf of her people. She decides to go before the King knowing her lapse in protocol could cost her her life. Instead of losing her life, she became the instrument of God's deliverance. As mentioned in the above Youtube video, there is a Hebrew word that is poorly translated in our bibles as feasts and festivals: moedim. Moedim is translated as appointment. The feasts of the Lord are appointments God initiated with His people. God continues to initiate "moedim" with His people. Esther answered her "moedim". Adar is a season of appointment, a moedim. We must be diligent not to miss our appointment with our God!

JOY. COMPLETION. PROPHETIC FULFILLMENT. GLORY. VICTORY= A PREGNANT YEAR!

Maintain your joy, actually stir it up! Nehemiah 8:10, Romans 14:17 KING'S DECREE. Believe that God will complete what He has begun in you! Philippians 1:6 KING'S DECREE. Keep decreeing the Word of Lord expecting victory despite opposition. II Corinthians 2:14, I John 5: 4 KING'S DECREE. Expect the manifestation of God's glory in your life. II Corinthians 3:18 KING'S DECREE. Don't stop birthing your promise. Spend time with God. Minister to the Lord. Spend time in prayer. Decree and declare God's word. Listen for instructions. Act on what God speaks. Praise and give thanks. Believe. Have faith in God.

Father, during this Jewish leap year of 2016, I pray that the truth of the power your Word becomes a living reality in your people and that we, as kings and priests, will use it to establish your Kingdom in the earth. Father your Word is incorruptible seed. It will bring forth and it will give birth to your Kingdom purpose. I pray that as your people we discern and embrace your times and seasons so that we are ready with the Word of the Lord on our lips. In 2016, may your Kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus Name Amen.

Get Your Garments

Is it just me or is anyone else getting up most mornings unsure as to what to wear because you just don’t know what the weather is going to be-not even in mid-February. It snowed two weeks ago yet yesterday's temperature was somewhere in the low 60's. Just a few months ago, I let my youngest son wear shorts on Christmas Eve not because he is a crazy teenager but because it was warm enough! There have been days these past few months where I have worn just a sweatshirt or long sleeve tee outside. The "light" wear was not because of hot flashes, either! It is really absurd. This is the world we live in. It seems obvious that there have been significant changes to our atmosphere that are affecting the climate globally. So thank goodness for our weather apps, right! I check my weather app first thing in the morning just so I know how to dress. What garments am I allowing my kid to wear as he goes out the door to school? (I know we don’t use the word garments but just humor me, you know I like to word play).

In a recent post, I discussed the believer’s role as kings and priests. This post is a follow-up to that one because as I read through some of the passages in Zechariah the garment change that took place in chapter 3 stood out to me. The priests of the bible had very specific instructions to follow in ministering before the Lord. Those instructions also included their attire, their garments. All priests had particular garments. The same is true for the office of a king. It is expected that a king would have royal garments. So as believers, as kings and priests, there must be garments we are expected to wear. Right? The bible speaks a lot about clothing, garments, robes etc. There must be a reason.

Even today, garments can be indicative of many things-profession, rank, ethnicity, nationality, and gender. Whether we want to admit it or not, what we wear does mean something. Our attire communicates something. Therefore, the garments mentioned in the bible must communicate something too. I think they do. Maybe more than we realize.

Here is a portion of scripture that I think is relevant to this discussion.

Get Your Garments- Kings and Priests

Zechariah Chapter 3

This entire chapter of Zechariah is interesting, but I am just going to focus on how Joshua the High Priest had to have his garments changed in order to receive what the LORD was releasing. In the vision, Satan was standing before the LORD opposing Joshua, when he was rebuked and the LORD commanded that Joshua’s filthy garments be exchanged for rich robes given by the LORD.

Verse 4-5

Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying. “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothes you with rich robes.” And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the LORD stood by.

Joshua represents Jerusalem in Zechariah’s vision. However, generally with prophetic visions there is an immediate fulfillment but there are also continuing fulfillments based on the purposes of God. The LORD gives a prophetic word through this vision.

“If you will walk in My ways, and if you will keep My command, Then you shall also judge My house, and likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk among these who stand here.”

Here is an invitation to serve in the courts of the LORD. As a high priest, Joshua had the commission to serve the LORD in intercession for Israel. We as believers are called to be kings and priests to serve the LORD in intercession in His courts. Our authority through Christ is to be executed in this world as we enter into the heavenly courts, hear our instruction and execute His righteous judgments in the earth. Jesus, our example, demonstrated this authority in his earthly ministry. He speaks to his authority and judgment in the book of John. In chapter 5 verse 30, he declares:

“I am unable to do nothing from Myself [independently, of My own accord-but only as I am taught by God and as I get His orders]. Even as I hear, I judge [I decide as I am bidden to decide. As the Voice comes to me, so I give a decision], and My judgment is right (just, righteous), because I do not seek or consult My own will [I have no desire to do what is pleasing to Myself, My own aim, My own purpose] but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent Me.”

The Amplified Bible

In Zechariah, we read an account of hearing from the Lord and acting in accordance. In chapter 3, Zechariah gives us the vision. However, in chapter 6 we read that Zechariah received an instruction based on what he saw in his vision in chapter 3. The instruction became a prophetic act of what he had seen in the vision.

Zechariah 6:9-15

Then the word of the LORD came to me saying, “Receive the gift from the captives-from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah, who have come from Babylon-go the same day and enter the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah. Take the silver and the gold, make an elaborate crown, and set it on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest.

Remember Zechariah had spoken in the vision and asked that a clean turban be placed on Joshua. In Exodus chapter 28, the LORD gives Moses the instructions for the priestly garments. The high priest had a turban with a special plate which had "Holiness to the LORD" engraved upon it. Then the Angel of the Lord spoke declaring the word or decree that is also given to Zechariah to declare in chapter 6 through verses 12-14. The turban was directly connected to the clearing the iniquity of the people. The new turban in the vision and the crown in chapter 6 are connected to the LORD's proclamation of removing the iniquity of the people.

It was important for Zechariah, as the mouthpiece of God, to hear the word of the Lord and act upon the vision that the Lord invited him to participate in. His obedience to the Voice of the Lord was important to the fulfillment of God’s purpose for his people at that time and season.

Joshua, a high priest in new garments, was completing prophetic acts that would affect the entire nation of Israel. His role as a priest as well as the garments that communicated his position and authority were integral to the fulfillment of the plan of God. This portion of scripture is considered Messianic because it also references the Servant, the Branch in verse 8 of chapter 3.

‘Hear O Joshua, the high priest, You and your companions who sit before you, for they are a wonderous sign; for behold, I am bringing forth My Servant the Branch.’

This is were I believe the prophetic vision has a subsequent fulfillment for us as believers. God's Servant, the Branch, is Jesus Christ and he through obedience has become our Faithful High Priest. It is his obedience that give us access to the throne of grace. It is his obedience that allows us access to the courts of the LORD. The LORD is clothing his people with garments to fulfill our functions as kings and priests: the royal priesthood. These garments, like those of the OT, are specially designed by the LORD for kingdom purpose. These garments are spiritual garments that will cover, cloth, wrap, and encompass us with the light and glorious Presence of the Lord. Garments of distinction, garments of glory. Remember that in Zechariah's vision, it was the LORD who clothed Joshua.

Read these words of Jesus Christ

Revelation 3:18-22

I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Ponder this...Psalms 104:1-2

Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great. You are clothed with honor and majesty. Who cover yourself with light as with a garment, who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.

Adam and Eve's first garments weren't fig leaves. The fig leaves were to cover their nakedness. The LORD asked them. Who told you you were naked? Then Jesus Christ "counsels us" to get garments from him. Our Father is the father of lights...I am not too upset about my "light" wear these days because I am expecting light as a garment!

Kings and Priests get your garments!

P.S. I originally started this post in January. I had a draft done and thought I was going to post it in January. I didn't, I had to wait. Most of the time when I hear something in the Spirit, I ponder it. Whatever and whenever I share its after I believe I have something worth sharing. Interestingly, last week the Torah portion was Tetzaveh which covers the priestly garments. So I figured this must be the time to post. That being said, scripture says "we see" in part and I agree with the truth of scripture. So I pray that the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, will bear witness with the hearts of believers.

Repeat the Sounding JOY!!

Many years ago, when I was a history teacher at a Christian school, I did an activity with my class that required each of us to come up with a name for ourselves. This name had to reflect a godly characteristic of our personality or one we desired. If my memory serves me correctly, the purpose of the activity was to emphasize the importance of the spoken word and our names. I chose "Mrs. Maintaining-A-Spirit-of-Joy-Wagner". Whenever we addressed one another in class, we had to use our chosen name. It was an interesting! I thought that was the name that most reflected my heart's desire at that time. Fast forward about 18 years. Even today, I want to maintain a spirit of joy. I believe joy is so important to our spiritual life.

Yesterday, I was listening to a new DVD of Christmas music I had just received from a ministry, simply having what I call my praise and worship break. Then the song Joy to the World came on and it was like I was hearing it in a different way. The words of the song made my eyes well up with tears and my heart overflowed with worship. Here are the lyrics...yes...I know we know them but just read them slowly....ponder them.

JOY to the WORLD
the LORD has COME
let EARTH receive her KING.
LET EVERY HEART PREPARE HIM ROOM

AND HEAVEN AND NATURE SING, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and heaven and nature sing.

JOY to the WORLD
the SAVIOR REIGNS

Luke 2:8-14

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the GLORY of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of GREAT JOY which will be to ALL PEOPLE. For there is born to you this day in the city of David, a Savior who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."

And suddenly there was with the angel a MULTITUDE of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

As I was worshipping, I just keep hearing in my spirit, repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy. It was as if I saw a picture of heaven and earth singing, praising God for the joy that had come into the earth through Christ His Son. Real Joy. Eternal JOY. The joy that can only come from the Source of Life. Just think about the fact that ALL of heaven repeats the sounding joy. All of nature, repeats the sounding joy.. the fields, the floods, the rocks, the hills, the plains...repeat the sounding joy. This is the joy that Jesus gives us as gifts, His Joy, not just Christmas joy but eternal joy that the world can't take away. Finally, this joy has an expression. It has a sound. It is a joyful praise. It is a joy that can't be silenced. It is joy worth repeating. Joy worth sharing. JOY JOY JOY.

JOY to the WORLD! Great joy to all people.

May the Presence of the King and His JOY touch your heart and the hearts of those you love this Christmas...and may we all repeat the sounding joy!

Are You Election Ready?

I am what most would consider a political junky. During my undergraduate studies I majored in political science and actually studied within a special program for poli-sci majors. Back then I had it really bad! Since then I have significantly “turned down” my political volume, but I still enjoy most political news shows. November has come and gone, but the political volume is still pretty high. You know the players and the pundits and the non-stop ads and promos. It is all in. The political "propaganda" is going to get "turned up" as we move into 2016.

You might be thinking is she going “left” or “right” with this blog. Neither. I have some pretty strong convictions when it comes to religion and politics. I don’t care if you are talking the evangelical right or the progressive left. When it comes to elections, the church can sometimes get its foot stuck in its mouth, just like the political players. Many believers tend to focus on the conservative political agenda that ascribes strong Christian values. I am going somewhere, but I am sure it is not where you think. Although, many Christians advocate for specific political agendas and positions, what I believe I heard the Spirit say a few elections ago is that “you can’t legislate righteousness”. Laws on the books don't change peoples hearts. If that was the case, the law of God would have changed us, but not so. It took the shed blood of the Lamb of God and the Spirit of God to cleanse our hearts. So maybe there is another position believers should take in response to our advocacy.

Recently I heard in my spirit the phrase, “the office of the believer”. I have been meditating on it for a few weeks and so I am going to share a few thoughts about it.

There is plenty of discussion in church circles about gifts and offices. Most believers are familiar with at least a few. Here are some examples: teaching and ministry (motivational-Rom. 8:4-8), word of wisdom or word of knowledge (gifts of the Spirit-I Cor. 12:7-11) apostles and prophets (gifts/offices for ministry to the Body of Christ-Eph. 4:11-12. However, what about the office of every believer?

I Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Rev. 1: 4-6

John, to the seven churches which are in Asia:

Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Rev. 5:9-10

And they sang a new song, saying:

You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for you were slain and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and have made us kings and priests to our God and we shall reign on the earth.

As believers, we talk about being “kings and priests” but are we operating as “kings and priests”? In the Old Testament the kings and priests were the offices that were “anointed” by God to perform specific duties and functions. Kings rule with power and priests intercede with authority. There are many leaders in the church ministering about the next move, sharing revelation and a lot of it has to do with prayer. There has to be a move in the church back to prayer. Real prayer. Real intercession. Real power. Real authority. I think this is why I heard…”the office of the believer.” Holy Spirit is revealing new kingdom strategies regarding prayer and how to operate as kings and priests after and according to the order of Melchizedek to which the High Priest of our confession belongs. (Hebrews 5: 6,10).

As our Faithful High Priest Jesus Christ has made a new and living way for us to come before the Father…the way is open but that doesn’t mean everyone will come. Every believer has this position in Christ , but not everyone has the revelation to operate in the office and position as a king and priest before God.

WORD INSIGHT: ELECTION

1. the selection of a person or persons for the office by vote.

2. the act of electing

3. theology. the choice by God of individuals as for a particular work or for favor or salvation.

WORD INSIGHT: OFFICE

1. A position of duty, trust, or authority, especially in the government, a corporation, a society, or the like.

ARE YOU ELECTION READY?

While I was meditating on this I had the distinct impression that there will be more than one type of election in 2016. There will be political elections in the natural, but there will be spiritual election too. I pray that the church isn’t so focused on the natural election that we miss the spiritual. There is a great need for us as believers to press into the Kingdom in prayer to receive revelation and strategy for what I call Kingdom administration. As kings as priests, we have an invitation to operate in Kingdom power and authority. We can legislate "in the spirit" for the Kingdom of God through prayer, intercession and prophetic decree. However, although the office and position are paid for by the blood of Jesus… a believer has to enter into it through faithful prayer and intimacy with the Father.

Ephesians 2:10 The Amplified Bible

For we are God's own handiwork, ( His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, born anew that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us (taking paths which He prepared ahead of time) that we should walk in them (living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live).

We have an office to fulfill as believers. We have works of faith to obediently fulfill that were predestined for us by the foreknowledge of God. We have prophetic words to speak and to fulfill. We have Kingdom administration to fulfill as the sons and daughters of God. The whole earth is in travail awaiting our manifestation. (Romans 8:22)

Look at this portion of scripture from Psalms.

Psalm 149:5-9

Let the saints be joyful in glory: Let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgment-this honor have all His saints.

P.S. I don't think I am done with this topic. I am still praying about a lot of this, but if you're interested I have been reading Zechariah specifically looking at chapter 3 and 4. Joshua the High Priest and Zerubbabel are examples of the combination of the king and priest anointings at work.

Here is the second recap for Sweetness of the Scroll. These are simply thoughts and insights from the weekly Torah portions. We will continue Sweetness of the Scroll on social podcast media, Spreaker.

Vayera (And he appeared): Genesis 18:1-22:24

Drop: It is important to have a “tent of meeting” or miskan (tabernacle/sanctuary) to host the Presence of God.

The first verse of this Torah portion (parashat) speaks of the LORD appearing to Abraham in his tent. In Jewish tradition, Abram is honored for his hospitality demonstrated during this divine encounter. In the previous chapter of Genesis, you read how Abraham and his whole house had ratified their covenant with Yahweh through circumcision as he was instructed. Abraham may not have even been fully physically healed when “the three men” visited him. Abraham was in his tent when the LORD appeared. Through scripture we know that the Father has always wanted to have fellowship with man. First in the garden and now He appears to Abraham and they have fellowship- a “tent of meeting”. Later, after Israel sinned against the LORD with the golden calf, Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp and he met with God in a tent. (Exodus 33:7). This became the tabernacle of meeting for Israel. (Exodus 33:7,8). There the LORD spoke to Moses face to face.

Recently, the movie War Room, emphasized the importance of a consecrated place to meet with God in prayer. After reading this parashat this truth was established in me in a different way. Under the new and better covenant we are the tabernacles of the Spirit of God. We are now the “miskan” and yet I still believe that a place to meet with God is relevant. Most of my time with the Lord is spent in my bedroom, since I don’t have extra space for a war room. However, since then I have taken a small area of my bedroom (which is a nice size) and set it apart like my own personal tent of meeting. In Jewish tradition, the prayer shawl, or tallit is to serve this same purpose. We are now the temple of the Living God and as we take time to spend time, consecrated time in a consecrated place I chose to believe that we become His habitation. We will host His Presence in a tangible way. Amen and so be it.

Chayei Sarah (The Life of Sarah): Genesis 23:1-25:18

Drop: We are sent ones, apostles, just like Eliezer sent out by our Lord. Shaliach=sent one (apostle)

My perspective about our gifts from the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit is changing. Religious circles have taught that these gifts are for the few not the many. Scripture says it is the traditions of men that make the word of God of no effect. In this Torah portion is the story of Eliezer, Abraham’s servant finding a wife for Isaac. Eliezer is sent out as a representative of Abraham’s house, and is given authority to act on Abraham’s behalf. The Hebrew word used in this account is translated as apostle or sent one. Anyone sent out with authority and a mission is an apostle like the disciples. Jesus commissioned the disciples and in turn they acted as apostles in their world. It makes me wonder where would the church be today if believers accepted the original definition of apostle and not the traditional teachings of the past. Apostles and those being sent out did not stop with the twelve disciples…

The gifts and callings of God are without repentance. They are not for the elite among us. They are given by the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in accordance with His will, yet they are for whosoever will. That means to the one that believes!

Toldot (Generations): Genesis 25:19-28:9

Drop: Digging Wells... Finding Living Water for the Generations

In this Torah portion, Isaac has an encounter with the LORD after redigging the wells of his Father Abraham. There are several accounts in Isaac’s life recounted here that remind us of his father, Abraham. There was a famine, a relocation, a lie and a king name Abimelech. I think this speaks to how one generation affects another generation either positively or negatively. However, after Isaac experiences the conflict over the wells and had to keep digging one well after another, then the LORD appeared. Just when he could have gotten discouraged, the LORD confirmed His promise. The Father knows when we need to hear from Him. So after finding and redigging his father’s well and discovering his own well it was as if Isaac established the generational blessing for those coming after him. He worshipped the LORD at the place where he received his promise. He pitched a tent. He dug a well. When we overcome obstacles in our lives through the power of the promise of God, we secure living water for the generations that come after. We discover the living water by standing in faith against opposing forcing trusting in the One who promised. Then we can begin to experience the blessing that comes to the generation who chooses to believe and to obey. Isaac was blessed because he obeyed when the Lord said don’t go down to Egypt. He sowed and received a hundred fold return. He kept digging despite the opposition and loss, then he received, because he waited for the LORD to work on his behalf. His testimony according to King Abimelech…” We have certainly seen the LORD is with you”.

Vayetze (He went out): Genesis 28:10- 32:2

Drop: Dream Sleep…sleep and dream

In this Torah portion is Jacob’s dream of the ladder to heaven. Jacob falls asleep and dreams. Here is dream sleep again! Genesis 28:12 reads, “Then he dreamed, and behold a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven…” This scripture is referenced often when teaching on prophetic or spiritual encounters. Remember that Jesus has made a way for us through his own blood on the cross and we have access to the heavenly places. Now that may seem a little far fetched for some, but I would consider that this is Jacob who is under the old covenant and actually has a few character flaws and he receives a covenant promise through his dream. The prophet Joel speaks about the outpouring of the Spirit and how dreams and visions will increase. Don't you want to exercise your faith for more dreams and visions? I do! If you haven’t been paying attention to your dreams, maybe you should start. If you haven’t been resting well, rebuke the enemy and press into deep sleep and rest. Let's agree with the Word and believe the Spirit wants to give more dreams and visions to God’s people. Sweet dreams!

Sweetness of the Scroll

In my last blog I shared about the “word” I heard…”let me hear your voice” which references a scripture in Song of Solomon. I shared a few thoughts I believe Holy Spirit revealed. Since then, I have continued to contemplate what I heard from the Spirit of God. I believe that Father God speaks to us…daily…moment by moment if we are attentive. The phrase became not only an instruction, but also an invitation. However, even after the blog post I still needed discernment. What act of obedience was the Lord requiring of me?

I think that sometimes we act in presumption when it comes to our spiritual walk. We can get comfortable and down right religious with our spiritual disciplines and that just isn’t good. Some time ago, the Father, let me know, quite distinctly, that I was not to walk in presumption concerning his Word and His Voice. We can hear something familiar and automatically believe we know what our response should be. In this season, I don't want to be presumptive concerning what I am hearing from the Lord. Jesus said “Ask, seek and knock”. We should probably ask some questions once we hear an instruction from the Lord. To hear in Hebrew actually means to listen and obey! That means action should follow what is heard. I said all that to say, I couldn’t just assume that I knew what my act of obedience was concerning “ let me hear your voice”. Well, I think I may have something…sweetness of the scroll. Let me explain…

I am on this faith adventure into the Hebraic roots of our Christian faith. Each week I read the weekly portion of scripture assigned and listen to Hebraic roots teachers to learn and grow in my knowledge of scripture, specifically the Torah. More often than not, Father speaks to me through the Torah reading. I am learning so much and just plain enjoy it. Call me a geek …I am okay with that! Sometimes I think…wow LORD that was such a nugget; a sweet nugget of truth from your Word. Now I plan to share those nuggets with others through the spoken word. I will begin sharing a sweet drop of honey about the weekly Torah reading over social radio podcast, specifically Spreaker. I am not a Hebrew Scholar, so please don’t expect in depth teaching on the Torah. I have only spent a little over a year listening to a weekly Torah teachings, but I believe that Holy Spirit does share things with me that can encourage other believers in their faith. Therefore, in this blog I am going to give a brief recap of the insights from the first few weeks to catch us up….then I will move forward on Spreaker.

The Sweetness

Psalm 119:103

How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Ezekiel 3:3

And He said unto me, “Son of man, feed your belly and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness.

Psalm 19: 9,10

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

We can see that scripture presents a comparison between the word of God and the sweetness of honey. Think about it. The promise of God to Israel was the inheritance of a land flowing with milk and honey. The metaphor of the sweetness of honey and the importance to godly instruction from scripture is a tradition confirmed by Jewish rabbis and rooted in Hebrew. Here is an excerpt from a website:

Whatever the etymology of khanach, the custom of using honey deserves special mention in any study of Jewish education. Rabbinic tradition informs us that it was the Jewish practice to use honey in a special ceremony on the first day of school. The young child was shown a slate which had written on it the letters of the alphabet, two verses of Scripture (Lev. 1:1, Deut. 33:4), and one other sentence: “The Torah will be my calling.” The teacher next read these words to the child, and the child repeated them back. Then his slate was coated with honey, which he promptly licked off, being reminded of Ezekiel, who said after eating the scroll, “I ate it; and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth” (Ezek. 3:3). After this ceremony, the child was given sweet cakes to eat with Bible verses from the Torah written on them.^[6]

What is the reason the rabbis tie study and honey together? The answer appears to be due, at least in part, to the linguistic connection they made between the use of khech (palate, gums) and khanach (to educate) in certain biblical texts. The rabbis found khech in passages comparing the sweetness of honey to the sweetness of the wisdom and words of God which one spiritually ingests.

So here are a few drops from the scroll…these are simple insights I have pondered each week while reading through the Torah portions.

Bereshit (In the beginning): Genesis 1:1-6:8

Drop: The Holy Spirit was hovering over darkness over the face of the waters. Gen. 1:1-2

In the first Torah reading (parashat) Holy Spirit reminded me that he is not intimidated by the darkness! We can get ourselves all worked up over the challenges in our lives. To what end? Worry and stress? If we believe our bibles, there is a shaking…and there is darkness…gross darkness already manifesting. So we had better stay in faith. The Holy Spirit was hovering in the beginning and He is continuing to move in the midst of God’s people. Holy Spirit is not alarmed about the darkness in the world. Needless to say, I needed to be reminded because of a few situations in my own life. Holy Spirit is present with us in the chaos in our lives. We must live in that truth.

Noach (Noah): Genesis 6:9-11:32

Drop: The fountains of the deep were broken and heaven’s windows were opened. Gen. 7:11

Most believers are “familiar” with the story of Noah. The second parashat in Torah covers this biblical account. What really stood out to me that week was the verse Genesis 7:11...”all the fountains of the great deep were broken up and the windows of heaven were opened.” I don’t think I had ever paid attention to that passage. There is a scientist who has studied this and can scientifically explain how the flood actually occurred! So it was powerful floods of water that flowed from fountains stored by God in the earth and above the earth in heaven! That was a lot of water! Jesus said out of our belly will flow rivers of living waters! Think about the powerful flow of water in a river. There is a force of power resident in our spirits. Don’t you think Jesus knows “a little” something about the source of the living waters and the rivers of God! Let’s get in the flow and stay there! Let’s get under an open window of heaven and pitch a tent!

Lekh Lekha (Go forth yourself ): Genesis 12:1-17:27

Drop: Go go within yourself and deep sleep. Gen. 12:1 and Gen. 15:12

The title of this parashat in Hebrew is translated go forth yourself or more accurately go within yourself. The phrase is the first few words of the Torah reading. Traditionally, the parashat names are the first few Hebrew words of the Torah section. (FYI Ezra the priest and scribe developed the Torah reading schedule). In this reading, we read about when the Lord came to Abram in a vision and “cut covenant” with him. It is a powerful portion of scripture. What popped out at me was Genesis 15:12. Father put Abram in a deep sleep. This is the second time that God put a man in deep sleep. The first time was with Adam in Genesis 2:21. In Strong’s concordance it is H8639 meaning deep sleep or trance. At this point, I am not really making any connection other than deep sleep. So I go and look up the rest of the references for the Hebrew word. A very interesting reference is Job 33:15, 16…”In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction” SAY WHAT!!! I am sure there is a lot more to this than what I am getting right now, but for me…I need to make sure I am getting “real” sleep….go in…going within…in my times of rest. I have suffered from insomnia and happen to be a very light sleeper, but I still tend to have dreams. THE POINT: we should not allow the enemy to rob us of our sleep and rest. We may be missing out on important instructions from the Lord!

This is already longer than I anticipated so I am going to cut the recap here. Hopefully, something shared encouraged and ignited your faith. Sweetness of the scroll is going to be a source of encouragement based on the Torah portion for that week. It will be whatever Holy Spirit wants shared…I will be exercising my faith to hear and hope that you will join in faith and listen too…

Let Me Hear Your Voice

I have been meditating on this phrase from Song of Solomon 2:14 for about a week now. It came to me after finding a poem I had written some time ago entitled "My Voice". I just happened to be "spring" cleaning in October and found the poem on a piece of orange paper in a huge stack of other papers that needed sorting. I pulled it out and sat it on my desk. After about a day or so, I heard "let me hear your voice". I recognized the phrase from scripture so I went to go look it up.

Song of Solomon 2:14

"O my dove, in the clefts of the rock,
in the secret places of the cliff,
Let me see your face,
Let me hear your voice;
For your voice is sweet,
And your face is lovely."

Hmmm. I am not known as a person that is usually at a loss for words so I really have been struggling to discern exactly what the Father is asking in his request...let me hear your voice.

A few days before I found my poem, I read a very encouraging post on Facebook that released a prophetic word about creative gates being opened. It spoke to me deeply so I reposted it. ( I won't post an active link here because I don't actually know the person who wrote the post...if you want to read it chk my page.) I sensed such an anointing on the prophetic word released through that post. It was like a clarion call.

I am still processing a lot of the prophetic word in that post, but I know that this scripture in Song of Solomon is also part of the message Father is wanting me (and other creatives) to hear. Here are two sentences from that post...

Watch how you flow in my Spirit when you begin to be in the right place of freedom and expression! For it is there, that I will anoint you and my glory will be seen upon you!".....Arise Shine! Jo Ellen

PROCESSING.

There is a right place for freedom. There is a right place for creative expression. There is a place for receiving anointing. There is a place for receiving glory. I think the scripture in Song of Songs gives me a few clues.

The clefts of the rock...in Exodus 33:22 this is where Moses received the glory and experienced the goodness of God tangibly revealed. Afterwards, Moses face shown with the glory.

The secret places of the cliff...according to Psalm 91 are found in the shelter of the Almighty, El Shaddai. We usually translate El Shaddai as the God Who Is More Than Enough, however, the more accurate translation is the Breasty-One. El Shaddai is the revelation of God as a nurturer satisfying us like a nursing mother.

So now this scripture looks like not just an instruction but also an invitation. Let me include the Amplified Bible version of the scripture...it is really something to ponder.

So I went with him, and when we were climbing the rocky steps up the hillside, my beloved shepherd said to me, O my dove, [while you are here] in the seclusion of the clefts in the solid rock, in the sheltered and secret places of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.

WOW. Selah. The phrase "let me hear your voice" is actually not simply an instruction but first its an invitation.

As I mentioned earlier, the prophetic word in that post was like a clarion call. What is a clarion? The Dictionary App defines it as an ancient trumpet with a curved shape or a sound of this instrument.

A clarion. An invitation. An instruction. PROCESSING.

There is a spiritual gate that has opened in the Kingdom of God for a new higher level of creative expression that will reveal the glory of God in greater dimensions. It is a welcome invitation for whosoever will. It is an invitation to the cleft of the rock and the secret places. It is a place of deep intimacy that will impart revelation that will need to be expressed and released in the Kingdom. Expressions will be released in various forms but each with a unique spiritual frequency that is directly connected to the Kingdom of God.

The Father wants to hear my unique creative expression and your unique creative expression. He wants to hear a new expression and sound from His children. He wants it to be deep, rich, intimate and sweet. As we come to him, El Shaddai, to be satisfied by him alone...the impartation we receive will be that which he created us to express as his child. Like Father..like son (daughter).

Let me hear your voice. Selah.
