Fresh Layout Update!

Yayyy, just had a productive afternoon filled with designing the simple header & widget for the blog! I used free-downloaded Photoshop brushes from Diamara and free-fonts from Miss Tiina for the header, also some others like HG Design's doodleline for my sidebar separator, Naldz graphics and (again) Diamara's brushes/stocks for the iconic buttons. I will also make some following minor changes on the rest of my sidebar or bottom side, but that will be up tomorrow. I hope you like it! Today is my best friend and photographer Nico Wijaya's birthday, so Happy Birthday brad! He's kinda busy at the moment so maybe we'll throw the celebration party at the weekend. I will never get over my excitement for exploring great illustrations. It's a fever that will never recovered, and today it's because of the amazing works of Lestoilesdaz - a French female painter who's gifted with such talent to make beautiful artworks. I feel like featuring ALL of her drawings here because I had such a hard time picking few of them as my favorite. Boys, don't you wanna married an illustrator for real? I'd love to.

The Other Girl Across Reality

Sometimes, when I look into my writings in this blog, I feel like I'm reading someone else's mind. This girl in the picture looks totally fine, in her cute outfit and still poses, in her dainty smiles and innocence eyes that stare a positive gaze. The way she writes can be very mature, thoughtful, and sort of melancholic. Seems like she always know what to do in life, and never fail to see her future clearly. When I meet new people, especially them who knew me from the blog before, this kind of wise-and-sweet impression will only last less than an hour. Once I deal with the first-time meet pressure, I could talk a lot and act real silly, as I'm so clumsy and reckless as well. I could be skeptical and sarcastic, throwing out mean jokes and truly reborn into one completely different figure compare to the one people would have expected. But... this outspoken girl and this quiet blog-writer is always the same person. Instead of feeling "fake", I take this condition as quite normal, since when we're writing we can think slowly and put the logic in order - while in reality we're likely being in rush for everything, and tend to be way careless. Well, no matter what, let's remember that if we can be so calm and optimistic in one time, we can always do it again for the next time! Right now I'm not feeling so good, lots of things going on here to handle, but writing this post and seeing myself keep trying to consistently do blogging... is another reason to take a deep breath and promise the world to be the subtle lady I saw in my writings. "Once upon a time there was a girl who had 7 invisible horses. People thought she was crazy and that she in fact had 7 imaginary horses, but this was not the case. When autumn came the girl spent a whole day washing all her clothes. She hung them on a string in her garden to let the gentle autumn sun dry them. Out of nowhere, a terrible storm came and its fiercefull winds grabbed a hold of all her clothes and all seven horses. The girl was devestated and spent all autumn looking for each horse spread around the country, wrapped in her clothes."

Vintage Dress & Collar

That's it! I'm going out tomorrow, no matter what, because I have found a perfect sundress to play with. I love its leaves-print! Maybe I won't wear the heels though if I'm about to run into somewhere muddy or a field covered with grasses... But I definitely will paired the dress with my new detachable peterpan collar dress I got from Stellar Neckwear *excited* Since the light inside the room isn't that good, I can't really show you the lace materials that my collar got upon its surface. Soft and easy. Everybody should get this accessories for themselves, I mean, for getting the classic (or vintage-y) look in two simple steps : 1. Buy, 2. Wear! Don't you think those kinda sound like a piece of cake? Alright. Today I'm gonna spend the night visiting blogs - after SO long - so I'll see you loves in your every blog page. Vaarwel!

Fancy Mixture

So it's only two more days before Chinese New Year. I celebrate the day every year because I'm half Chinese, but in quite a simple and casual way since my mom has no longer a Buddhist like when she was a child. I mean as simple as having dinner with the whole big-family in my grandmother's house. The dresscode will be the common oriental-themed one, like always, with Shanghai styled collar and Cheongsams... But this year will be a bit different, it seems. My grandmother had passed away last July and we won't be celebrating in full-members because some of the families can't make it to visit my town on time. Since it's Monday and stuff. My dad will be away as well, so maybe the dinner won't be as merrier... But things are always changing, right? Even when we thought we never need any, of we better off without it, but we do need the change of situations every once in a while. I won't be complaining even I always love being around the family crowd.

And so regarding the need of changes, I will not wearing the usual red dress this year for the celebration. I will be using some of my own designs, and combining the silky Cheongsam materials with lace or cotton or petticoats to finally get what I say as my own classic-styled oriental dress. Like the above one where I choose empire waist style (a bit like the Korean Hanbok) and semi-circle skirt made from fine satin and tile. Oh yeah, the dress is definitely flown me back to my younger age when I was all-about wearing empire babydoll dresses. I guess changes aren't always bad, right? Happy preparing the coming new year!

Maxi Skirt, Maxi Use

I sometimes didn't realize how a maxi skirt became one of my to-go item. When you haven't shaved or waxed the legs, when you barely got time to dress-up, when you need a casual dress - the maxi has been always an easy way to solve. This time I'd like to share the simple red-plum maxi skirt I got quite a time ago from Pretty Young Things (back to their previous collection, the Mod Mood).

*I did also take some photographs of the outfit when I went outside the house which I'd like to share, but the pictures were stored on my crashed macbook and even I have waited for almost a month to get them back, all of the remaining data on the harddisk - apparently - can't be rescued. So let's say, I'll just share what I got left for now.

I tried to wear them for different moods, from fancy to classy and from daily to a bit hippie. And noted that all the pairings are so easy to make - one simply need a different top, or maybe a lift on a dress-to-be transformation. The best thing about plain maxi skirt is that pairing will be far from confusing and your dressing-up time won't be too much wasted. You may consider mixing-up your old solid maxi skirt or get a new one like mine in reasonable shopping at Pretty Young Things.

Dogs Are Always A Favorite

Just another day today when I went out this morning. This post is an answer for a reader mail that asked, how often you wear jeans and how you style it? I wore jeans quite a lot especially on my campus hours. And I mostly paired the jeans with any tops that give colors or patterns into the outfit - or, in a simple explanation, wear it with something cute. That's it. Comfortable and easy. Today I paired my Nudie with a new vintage blouse that has dogs paintings all over it - a cute creme British Terrier. The material is a bit silky and I was too lazy to iron the wrinkle. Some serious procrastination is happening in my life these days. Not a good thing.

Sometimes, when I'm down, I tend to blame the whole volatile life graphic I had. I hate the way bad times come without hints, I hate to face problem that appears without warnings. Everything about spontaneous occurrence is insulting, and I wished that life will be tangible in precise order. Talk about clarity. Consistency. Certainty. People went to oracle master and Tarot reader, for what? For a less vague future ahead. To have one life that is predictable might sound perfect each time you're on a downside, but believe me, we also love being clueless - as much as we want to make things always ensured. To know nothing means to learn more. To know little means we always have passion to grow. And to know nothing means we will have a mysterious life where no matter what we do, there will be a crack where everyone could spare some dreams and hopes. A crack where curiosity lies. Consciously, I'd rather live as one curious creature.

And for the sake of fulfilling your curiosity, I should explain a modest beauty that lies behind my outfit above. One of my good friend, Dinda, had launched her latest artworks on clothing designs by establishing new brand called CURIOUS. And she's being totally kind to send me one of their signature item, black Vlada top made from soft lace patterns. Speaking of the ridiculously-fast-first-week of 2012, I really have caught myself in a big mess. Too many things to handle in a short time and that brought me to some restless days and sleepless nights. But I know things will be just fine by the end. This year is just begun, and I strongly believe we all could slowly find the perfect rhythm to enjoy the countdown. Finger crossed, there will be lucky days coming for us. Keep curious and happy!

BLACK AREA by CLEAR: just, STUNNING.

Something exciting happened few weeks ago - a fancy party and a reveal of a new brand ambassador. CLEAR and Unilever presented a BLACK AREA by CLEAR night, one hyped event which combine futuristic ambience style with breakthrough digital concept and spectacular music performance - all in one night. This event was dedicated to CLEAR's most loyal customers and everyone who has supported this brand. As you all know, CLEAR is one of the best anti-dandruff shampoo in Indonesia and it has so many loyal user. The event, was a great success. The brand was just having the relaunch by mid-2011 and now they're the leading one over all. So they meant to held a celebration at the event that taken place at Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) by December 9th, 2011. I didn't make it there, should I blame my exam weeks, but thanks God for technology and some good friends - I got the reports and updates, live, streaming through my twitter timeline.

The event's theme were all about black, of course. Before gone into the entrance, ArioAchda (my blogger friend) uploaded a picture via twitter showing the black decoration outside the place. Looked cool already! They aren't allowed to bring cameras, however, so I'd share you some of the official pictures here. People were amused by multiple performances from various artist, and black atmosphere everywhere. Gotta say, that is cool.

Before the event day, people were all murmured about who's gonna be the next CLEAR Ambassador. It's quite a normal thing since CLEAR always collaborate with the best musicians and artisans who have the young and energetic spirit to inspire people. Named them - Ello, Sandra Dewi, Sherina,IrfanBachdim… All of those awesome people! And now CLEAR has new ambassador, which made the event went more and more exciting. After awaiting for quite some time, they finally revealed that the ambassador is Agnes Monica! How can she not be picked. She got everything that fits in the brand equity with - international experience, beauty, intelligence, healthy hair and personality. I can't agree more that those two make a great couple! Look at her tanned skin - she definitely knows how to looked distinctively stunning :) And the fact that she is also stylish, has great hair and innovative? I definitely understand why CLEAR picked her.

And as for CLEAR, well, I have known this brand since forever. And I know that CLEAR as a brand is also very innovative and creative. So CLEAR and Agnes Monica really share the same value that will support each other.

So anyway, I wish CLEAR and all its ambassador a good luck in 2012. Keep innovating!

Touchdown Jakarta this morning! Will spend this weekend catching-up with some friends and boyfriend before he left to Melbourne next Sunday evening. Thanks to Aditya Sani for taking some outfit shots while we wandered around Kinokuniya... I'm wearing the tribal-styled knitted batwing from Bonvieux, one of the favorite product from the first launched collection. Even I have to wait on the line to have mine tailored! I found myself a bit busy lately to prepare things that are about to be revealed on 2012 (that explains why this blog is a bit, neglected somehow). Also I lost my Canon battery charger while in the other hand, my tiny macbook's system is crashed so I need to get her see the "doctor" for awhile. I didn't say that I have such a great end of the year, but I didn't hate those last days at all. And on December 31th, a package from one of my sponsor just arrived - the three tone dress from KLING, sent by the very kind UNESTABLISH team. I love its combination of white, red, and blue shade! Just sounded like a perfect New Year Eve outfit for me.

And well, finally it's the end of 2011. This year has been great - for all the adventures, all the shared emotions and scattered feelings, for all the awesome new acquaintances I met, for all the trips, for all the achievement and failures... It's been bittersweet, like life always will be, and I'm totally grateful for what I had back then. I have my learnings and finally met some new goals. Thank you for everyone who's also been kindly supporting this blog, and always understanding the fact that sometimes I can't always updating the outfit posts. I don't know how blogging will be without everyone who reads my writings :)

So this is what happened is your bestfriend became your business-partner : she will create a versatile gift that works for both your friendship and the shop as well. The dress above is an early Christmas gift I got last night from Anglaina, which meant to be my Christmas-eve dress... and also a NEW item to be available at the shop's next Christmas collection. I didn't knew she put on this dress on the list, because she intended to surprise me. The dress itself were named after mine - a Christmas Clara navy-lace dress! It was totally flattering! Thank you so much Anglaina, for the sweetest gift ever and the hard-works we share lately for the shop. You're an angel! And folks, thank you SO much for the huge feedback and supports at the opening launch last night... It means a lot for us and we made a great sales to have more than half of the collection sold within short hours. Please do await for the next Christmas collection... It was such a great photo session we had, and Phoebe (the model) is one of the most beautiful, talented person I've ever worked with. I'll tell you more about the project making later on...
