TV Show Promo of the Day: IGN has just released a brand new trailer for The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra – Nickelodeon’s long-awaited follow-up to Avatar.

The new trailer is chock full of new footage, including a scene of Korra destroying a 2,000-year-old treasure that probably shouldn’t have been used for airbending training if they didn’t want to risk it being destroyed jus’ sayin’.

Though no official premiere date has yet been set (coming soon? Thanks for nothing), it has been confirmed that the first episode will air sometime in 2012 — possibly as early as this summer.

Badass Bridge of the Day: Residents of Slovakia’s Bratislava Region are inching ever closer toward naming a newly erected pedestrian bridge linking the capital to Austria after action movie star Chuck Norris.

An Internet poll set up by the regional assembly will be used to decide on a name for the foot-and-cycle bridge that spans the Morava river. So far, the iconic tough guy is leading the pack with 74% of the vote.

Norris really has no competition to speak of: Austro-Hungarian empress Maria Theresa is currently in second place with a pitiful 8%.

Regional governor Pavol Freso will have the final word on the bridge’s official moniker once the poll closes in April, but he has already vowed to bow to the will of his constituents.

Admittance Of Guilt of the Day: After admitting to destroying evidence in order to strengthen his claim that he did not infringe on copyright in creating his iconic “Hope” poster, noted LA-based street artist Shepard Fairey today pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal misconduct and faces up to six months in prison.

Fairey filed a 2009 lawsuit against the Associated Press following allegations that he used one of the news organization’s photos to produce his artwork. The 42-year-old initially claimed he had used a different photo of then-candidate Barack Obama, but soon admitted to lying.

Making matters worse, Fairey tried to cover up the lie by destroying documents and replacing them with fabricated ones. “I was ashamed that I had done these things, and I knew I should have corrected my actions,” he told a judge in Manhattan’s Federal District Court.

The AP settled with Fairey out of court last year.

Sentencing will take place on July 16th. In addition to six months behind bars, Fairey also faces a year’s worth of supervised released and a fine of $5,000.

Follow Up of the Day: Our long national nightmare is over: Sacha Baron Cohen will be allowed to attend the Oscars dressed as his character from The Dictator.

“We’re thrilled to have him and he’ll be on the red carpet dressed as The Dictator,” producer Brian Grazer said in an interview with Extra.

The announcement follows a “video statement” by Cohen, as his character, in which he excoriates the “Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Zionists” for banning him.

Cohen himself was never actually banned from attending the ceremony, but producers initially balked at letting him attend the show in character out of concern that he would draw attention away from the nominees.

Now, thanks to the Academy’s overreaction, Cohen has been able to parlay a minor inconvenience at best into a priceless promotional takeover of Hollywood’s biggest night.

Everybody Needs A Hobby of the Day: Meet Chris May, a 16-year-old from Darlington, County Durham, who possesses what is quite possibly the world’s lamest superpower: He can hold 16 mugs at once using only one hand.

May says he stumbled upon this hidden talent one day while removing the dishes from the dishwasher.

“I started hanging mugs off my fingers, not even thinking about it,” May told The Sun, ” when my friend Max said, ‘Hey, how many mugs you got there?.’ I think I had about ten and then he said, ‘Keep going, keep going, see how many you can get.’”

Once he reached 16 he knew he had something special on his hands, so May and his buddy visited the Guinness World Records website and were shocked to learn that no record had yet been established for Most Mugs Held In A Single Hand.

He immediately shot the venerable keeper of human accomplishment an email informing them of their oversight. His claim is reportedly under review, and he will receive an answer within six weeks.

“I joke that at least I will have achieved something in my life as an undisputed world record holder,” said May.

Fictional President of the Day: Bill Pullman, one of the most ass-kickingest presidents in American history, has once again been called to serve the nation’s highest office for an NBC pilot about life in the White House.

The sitcom in question, 1600 Penn, follows the misadventures of a dysfunctional family that just so happens to be The First Family. Hilarity will undoubtedly ensue.

Pullman is set play President Dale Gilchrist, a former Marine who retired with distinction (no doubt for leading an American assault against invading alien forces).

The Book of Mormon‘s Josh Gad, co-creator of the show, stars as Pullman’s son. Brittany Snow has been cast as First Daughter.
