I used to be a scaredy dog about snow cause in the city it had burning salty stuff that got between my paws. But not here. I love the snow and the dirt and all the smelly poop around here. I'm a mountain doggie now. Arrow too-- but he's always been real outdoorsy.

Deefor wrote that a few years ago. He loved being a mountain doggie. But on August 21, 2019, Deefor crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

I used to blog a lot and then I stopped for a long time. I blame my mom. Some of my old blogger friends are gone and I need to find some new ones.

We are still doing the same old stuff.

Getting visits from family

Taking walks in the mountains.

Walks in the City. He likes to bark a lot and I bark back.

Going out on the deck to bark at stuff.

And mostly sleeping.

We had a real nice walkie.

We used to walk loose here, like most of the other doggies. Of course it's Arrow's fault we don't. He runs off too much and won't come back. He likes to hunt little animals even if he can't catch them

The path is by a lake. The lake is frozen and people were walking their doggies on it!

Arrow was happy to get a roll in the snow.

I'm not leaving.

Since this walkie we got more snow!

We were outside and Arrow saw something strange in the yard behind our house.

It was a chicken! A white chicken looking at us.

And there was another. A friendly brown one that came over to see us. I'm more interested in the yummy compost. Very exciting stuff for Denver.

Then we said goodbye and went for a ride to the desert doggie park.

After we have a drink and head home for breakfast. Maybe a little chicken with out kibble.....

Small Dog Meet-Up

We went to a small dog meet-up yesterday. It was mostly gangsta chihuahuas terrorizing bigger small doggies. The smaller ones were really mean.

We're in the back. Arrow, in his blue thing, is looking for someone to hump and I'm in the corner waiting to go home. I need a nap.

I hope all of my old blogging pals are having a pawsome 2013. I haven't been blogging mostly out of laziness. Mostly human laziness.

Arrow has a new favorite chair. It's his camouflage chair. (Can you find him?)

He's very brave to jump on it cause it moves around. I only sit on it when there's a stable lap to jump on.

I'm more of a couch puppy. Knitting needles are so comfortable.

Taking Time to Smell the Flowers-- And pee on them!

Some places we hike have lots of smelly wild flowers this time of year. And we water them.

They keep us on the leashes like slaves. It's cause of Arrow. Only the more normal doggies walk free and don't go crazy. (I hate you labs and goldens and especially the really sane border collies-- not always, just hiking.)

Arrow would run off if he could. And I'd follow him. He wants to run to the lake. NOW!

This is a special path that's good for doggies with no bikes and lots of flowers.

A picture for all of the sweating doggies in the dogosphere. Sometimes we still find snow but it's melting fast.

Summer Days

We've been hiking. And swimming.

The humans decided to take us with them. They thought we were too little to hike. But we're tough. We hiked up Loveland Pass where we rolled in snow.

We hiked to a lake with lizards in it.

We saw July 4th skiers and riders at A Basin. If you bigify the picture you can see them too. (They kinda look like ants but they're really humans)

It's time to eat. We're ready. I think my breakfast is more important than your chai tea.

It's with a tear and a smile that I remember Joe Stains and celebrate his amazing life with hamburger. Sorry Joe, Arrow can't have cheese (guess why-- it has to do with poop) and my humans have this sick idea of fairness.

I was gone from bloggydom all winter cause my mom worked in the mountains and only saw me on weekends. I stayed in Denver. My bearded owner felt sorry for me and Arrow eating our dry food. He started mixing stuff in. Stuff he likes. Like pieces of ham or hot dogs. (Not made from doggies.)

But mostly hamburger! He cooks it and keeps it in the magic box. For me! This is how it starts. (Notice that Arrow always gets more.)

The he breaks it up into little pieces. (Still looks like Arrow has more)

And mixes it with kibble.

It's not McDonald's. It's not a cheeseyburger. But it's a yummy breakfast.

Even if he does get more.

Doggy Day Afternoon

We go to the desert dog park a lot. Mostly early. But sometimes it's still cool in the afternoon. It's my rehab-- group therapy.

I am very nice most of the time. Arrow's the problem.

Arrow has such bad manners. Some of the doggies signed a petition to bar Arrow but then one peed on it.

Here's the gate. Time to get a treat.

P.S. I saw this and I thought Deefor had been cloned!!! Three Deefors!! But they smelled better.

Chasing Arrow (alias Houdini)

On my morning walkie today, Arrow escaped! No pictures of his adventure cause my mom was busy going crazy trying to get him-- holding out mega treats and calling him a Good Boy in baby talk! It started with a cat. We both barked a lot and suddenly my mom was just holding his leash. His harness was open and he was gone!!!

Who me?

He squeezed under a fence and had the cat cornered in a cellar window! The cat sprang up and ran, but Arrow was after it. Back under the fence, across the street and up on someone's porch.

Then a man with a little doggie was walking down the street. My mom asked him to grab Arrow when he came over to his doggie and it worked. Arrow can't resist smelling a new tail. Back on his leash.

Arrow's harness looks OK but he opened it when he saw the cat. He won't tell me how he did it. Wish he could teach me how to open the nose leash.

I went camping with Zoren and Zelda (his mom). Zoren's my humans' grandson! He was very nice and even took me for walkies!

Here he is with a camera and I'm showing off my ace bandage.

And swimming with his mom.

I took my bearded owner (Grampa!) for a walkie too. We were a little sad cause lots of trees are gone. These bad beetles killed them and now the park cut them all down so they don't fall on campers. This used to be a really shady place. They are planting tiny new ones. It's still a really pretty.

p.s. I am all better now. No stitches. No bandage. Thanks again for all the good wags and crossed paws. I know they helped a lot.

Lump Update

Thanks to everydog and especially DWB for all the crossed paws and good vibes and doggy power. One lump was fat and that was easy. (No more whipped cream on my white chocolate mocha lattes!) The other was different and I have lots of stitches.

They wrap me up so I can't scratch them and chew on them. The lab report (guess those labs are everywhere-- even working for the vet!) said I have an infection and I am getting medicine. Hope it's all gone soon.

Arrow has been looking out for me. Not a really good nurse like Asta, but he lets me sit in his favorite chair. I feel fine except for the itchy stitchies.

p.s. Don't tell Arrow but I'm going camping! He's going to City Bark Denver the place for dogs who bark too much and drive everyone crazy. You can check on him. Just go to the web-cam for Denver.

Lumpy

When I was getting my special scratchies a last week, my bearded owner found some lumps. Not the usual I-hate-the-brush lumps of fur. One is big and flat, and the vet said it could be a fat lump. Fat lump!!! I am not fat! The other one is small and she's not sure what it is. I think it's those really old treats I couldn't chew up.

The vet is going to take them off Monday.

My personal trainer Arrow is still working me hard as ever. I'm giving him sleeping lessons.

Camping Without Arrow

I managed to get away for a little R & R. That stands for Roaming and Real Food. Or Camping!

Time away from my Personal Torturer. Arrow can't go cause he barks a lot. I just curl up in the sleeping bag and keep quiet. I saw a deer. I got to eat hot dogs (what a name! not made with real doggies) and breakfast mix-ins. Not counting all the stuff that "falls" on the ground.

There was a lot of napping.

Do you have to always disturb me with the camera?

I make sure he gets off his tail.

And gets a little exercise.

It's been a long time. I blame the humans. Then there was a time when me and Arrow were playing chase and knocked the laptop off the table. . . Very bad place for a laptop. (Now we got a doggy proof one with a magnet plug.)

My humans are too busy to blog lately. Hmph. Not too busy to snowboard! Or go to work all day! Or watch stupid stuff on TV! Here I help them with that. Change the channel. I don't like Leno. I wanna watch Dogtown.

Me and Arrow have been real busy too. They leave us home and go shredding and we sort the socks.

It's really MY job and I am in charge of it.

Try to tell that to Arrow.

But he is really good at finding the socks with really big holes. I wonder how he does it.

Our snowy park....

We have been very lazy about blogging. My mom says now that the holidays are over, she will help me do a better job. (sigh)

She went to visit our human sister and nephew who is very cute. And she was busy with work and snowboarding. And our walkies and stuff.

My mom has a new camera. It can't take pictures of me! Here's half of me. (And all of you-know-who)

Arrow has been busy. My mom was fooling around with some yarn when she saw this on the floor. Arrow likes to pre-chew the napkins before they get washed. Tasty.

Arrow tried to look innocent. Who me? I'm just staring out the window.

Now my mom is going to invade my blog and post a crochet pattern for a grocery bag. So all of you crocheting doggies can have something to do. (Hope you have really good eyes or can bigify it)

Yesterday my mom was eating some chicken for lunch. I peed on the rug right in front of her. She jumped up from the table and started cleaning it. (And said lots of mean stuff to me) She ran upstairs for some cleaner and-- FORGOT ABOUT HER CHICKEN!!!

My mom was very upset. She has this thing about me not eating yummy lemon pepper rotisserie chicken with the skin and bones on the table. And she doesn't like pee on the rug. Deefor was mad at me too. Mom took so much time being mad that our walkie was real short. And he didn't get any chicken. He slept through the whole chicken stealing part.

This was not a plan. I just looked at the big leather thing and decided to pee on it. I'm kinda short so it only went on the rug. But I seized the opportunity. It could be a plan. . . . next time.

We got this beautiful present from LeLe and Trish-- the Airechicks! Nice doggy box.

A book by a doggy named Max and lots of other nice stuff and yellow papers to chew up.

And this neckerchief. How did they know? Red is my color!
