Timmy, Gooch and Wayne watched as Lo-Mo made open holes and positive yardage disappear. While at the same time Adam was treated to a Steve Miller Band concert with his levitating "Little Brother" footage from YouTube forthcoming. (that is Criss Angel on the left not Adam's "l.b.") Other than that Timmy hit the trails in an effort to raise more money for Autism towards his goal of 14 races this season -you can get involved here. Fantasy sports knocked most of us about the head, but hey the weather has been great so who can complain? You can tell the difference between novice runners and those that expect to place in the top ten. Clothing. I along with most of the field was covered up in compression pants and a light windbreaker. The leaders were in loincloths and flip flops. All kidding aside, this was the final race in the Seacoast Race Series. I did a select few of the race series events this year and they are always well organized and executed. We finished 283rd out of 771 runners in 24:59. This leaves Team Cameron with just two final races for the running season this year, the first of which is next week. Look at the two of these two teams and you will have a hard time finding a better Eastern Conference team out there. There are a lot of talented teams in the East but not many as deep as the two teams kicking off the season in Cleveland. Adding Rasheed Wallace and Marquis Daniels gives the team a scoring one two punch off the bench they so desperately needed last season. The Cavs bring in a possibly rejuvenated and motivated Shaq and I use the word "possibly" as we have heard Shaq say that he is going to do win this and win that before, but that did not happen when he went to the Suns so now can he prove that he is really ready to "win a ring for the king".

The rest of East will be looking up at these to two teams for most if not all the regular season, but I am not sure if I can say the same about the reigning champions. As much as it pains me the Lakers look more dangerous this season than last considering the fact that replace Trevor Ariza with Ron Artest! Fair trade.?.not for the rest of the league. The Spurs are going to be very good and so will the Denver Nuggets, but I don't think any of those teams will touch the Lakers this season.

So my predictions are below for each division and then playoffs and of course the champs. Now I am no "nostrodumbass" so I will do the best I can.

Atlantic Division

Central Division

              Southeast Division

1.Boston Celtics

1.Cleveland Cavaliers

        1.Orlando Magic

2.Toronto Raptors

                  2.Chicago Bulls

               2.Atlanta Hawks

3.Philadelphia 76ers

                3. Toni Braxton who is a "shorty" (ghetto vernacular for female) was hot as well. Look at her. Mm mm Toni.... O.K. all of that topped off by that fact that Adam was busy spittin' straight knowledge (his words, not ours) with Jay-Z at the Mullins Center in Amherst brings us to what may seem to be a shoe-horned Sean Kingston reference as a title for this weeks episode.

Well it's here. Although Tommy and company have made it quite clear that this excursion to Wembley Stadium is a business trip. Nothing more, nothing less. Celtics and Bruins were both in action as the show was being recorded so they will get into them as well an get picks from Bobby Dugan and Uncle Dukes. WZBC's Carl Koubek brings his insight to the show from Hockey East to women's softball (we think he might cover the debate team as well). Also big news on the fantasy front as an unknown throws his hat into the ring for fantasy hoops and Rubba Shoes battles the sniffles while divulging that he actually has a 5th side job! We'll get the pigskin picks from the guys and find out why Uncle Dukes is broadcasting from the road. It's all right here on the all new weekend preview of the Wicked Pissa Podcast. Why would I be running a trail K on my birthday? For Autism research of course. Well it is over thank goodness. This was and probably will be the most difficult trail run of the season crossing over stone walls and streams it was a true test. About a mile in I rolled an ankle and realized what might be the case, I was not shooting for a personal best today. Getting out of the woods on foot was the goal. A very different experience than a regular road race but much more fun and challenging at the same time. I really had a good time on this run. There will be a snowshoe race this winter at this site covering the same course, that should be interesting. Team Cameron will be participating in the Granite State Snowshoe Series as well , stay tuned for details coming soon.

Again a well organized event that only a few braved the morning to compete in as the field was only 22 or so (official numbers still unavailable as of the time of this post). I finished 8th of 22 runners in 28:34 and won my division (males 30-39) which gave the announcer the opportunity to embarrass me by making it known that it was my 38th birthday. For my efforts I was awarded a commemorative cowbell. Priceless! Next up for Team Cameron is the Great Bay 5K in Greenland on October 24th. The Sox done in three. The Pats lose by three. The Bruins come back from down by three to win. In another magic number coincidence, Rubba Shoes joins Adam and Timmy for the weekend wrap up along with a special appearance from the Wicked Pissa voice guy and bachelor Chad. The guys talk about Timmy's birthday / bachelor party weekend, along with what was Rubba Shoes doing at Chunky's? Adam redecorated his house with Jessica and went apple picking with his "little brother" and still has reason to make fun of Timmy in the end. Brace yourself for an action packed episode of the Wicked Pissa Dude Podcast. The Sox have dominated the Halos over the past few seasons when it mattered most. I am not going to sit here and lie to you and say that I was not one of those people, I was thinking that the teams were more evenly matched this season, but none the less the Sox were going to win. Well the day has to come when you no longer have someones number, it happens in every sport (Pats vs Colts is the first that comes to mind) and for the Red Sox it has now happened in back to back seasons. The Tampa Bay Rays lost the "Devil" in their name and then lost the jinx against the Sox and bounced them out in the ALCS.

This time around there wouldn't even be a decisive final game i.e. a game 5 as the Sox are swept out of the playoffs for the first time since the eventual champion White Sox did it in '05. So instead of looking at the many reasons the Sox lost this series (poor fielding, uninspired pitching, lack of hitting, and a bullpen that was very shaky) let us look to the off season and who will be around Jason Bay, maybe Jason Varitek, most likely as an expensive backup. What about the rotation will Wake return? Will Dice-K be healthy? Can Clay keep the momentum from a good season? All these questions and more in the weeks to come...since we don't have any more Red Sox baseball to watch the rest of 2009, we must all trust Theo and company to answer these questions and more so we don't lose yet another number next fall.

scotty@wickedpissadude.com

Episode 119 - Patriot Reins

Can they do it? Will the Patriots be able to tame the horses running wild at 4-0? What will Bill pull out this week to get inside Josh's head? Lots of questions on the gridiron for both the pro and college squads here in the Wicked Pissa Nation. The Sox are underway in their quest to add another ring to the jewelery case, do they still have "it?" How are the Bruins and Habs doing for Timmy and Rubba Shoes? Well it's Thursday so there will actually be some hockey talk to get into. Has Timmy found a new studio yet? All this and the gamut of fantasy scores and stats to review. There is a bluster of mayhem going on here in the City of Champions. Will the Bruins indeed contend for the cup? Will Timmy and Gianina finally find the house they have been searching for? All these questions and more will be answered, well most of them will. Timmy and Adam are both battling the cold that has swept through New England. Additionally, half of the staff (Scotty Dukes and Timmy) were out under the clouds and rain of Gillette on Sunday. All in All it was a weekend of victorious football from CHS all the way to the friendly confines of Foxboro. I suppose they'll talk about the unfortunate sweep in the Bronx and prattle on about their fantasy scores as well. It could've been an L, because there is no doubt that there were some plays that the Atlanta Falcons left on the field, but the truth is, the New England Patriots found a way to win.

Tom Brady was less then spectacular with his final stat line looking like a rookie quarterback who put together a decent start. It could've been a lot worse. The Falcons dropped two sure thing INTs and that would've made Brady's 25/42 for 277 yds and one TD look a whole lot worse. But as coach would say, it is what it is.

At times in this game Brady was angry. At times he was frustrated. He threw a couple of balls out of the reach of his receivers when they were wide open. He had some of his receivers drop balls. And yet, in the end, he put together a drive that got New England into the end zone to finally seal the deal.

Brady has obviously not found his "groove" yet and still the New England Patriots are 2-1 starting the '09-'10 campaign.

How about that running game? A nice 105 yds from Fred Taylor who finally had his break out game and looks like the back of choice for the Patriots this season. The rest of the running game complimented Taylor to put up more yards on the ground today then in the opening games combined (156 total yards in the first two games - 168 yards today.)

The defense, who has yet to give up 300 yards to any team in the first three games of the season is holding it's own, even as Vince Wilfork went down in the first half today.

People who were expecting this team to be like the 2007 New England Patriots are going to be sadly disappointed. Tom Brady is a great quarterback and no one can deny that. He is better then 95% of the quarterbacks in the league, but clearly he is human.

That Pats will click and when they do, I don't think there is a team in the league that would want to face them in the playoffs. Will they make the playoffs? Of course they will. Will they breeze into the playoffs? Probably not.

So, Wicked Pissa Dude Nation, I urge you, as I did after last weeks loss, take a deep breath, the season is young and there is a lot of football left to be played. We will be strong and we will lead the AFC East, we're just going to have to shake those pesky Jets.

Plenty more on this game tomorrow on the weekend wrap-up, right here on wickedpissadude.com.

- Adam

Nostradumbass : Weekend Preview

Here is how I see things shaping up around here for the weekend in the wide world of Wicked Pissa sports. Honestly, they do. Timmy is under the weather as the infamous cold season (first wave) sweeps through the Northeast. Rubba Shoes is hoping for all Canadiens and no Bruins on his fantasy hockey auto-draft team. The Pats host Matty Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons at Gillette this weekend and the Sox head to the Bronx to wrap the season series with the Yanks. All that and a little fantasy Nascar should have you geared up (sorry for the pun) for the weekend. Thanks for listening to the show and tell a friend they can subscribe for free too.

theshow@wickedpissadude.com

Texas A&M "Long Shot"

<itunes:author>noreply@blogger.com (www.wickedpissadude.com)</itunes:author>

Patriots Add Another Burgess

The New England Patriots acquired third-year LB Prescott Burgess today in a trade with Baltimore for an undisclosed draft choice. To make room for Burgess on the 53-man roster, the Patriots released C Ryan Wendell. Burgess, 6-3, 247 pounds, was originally a sixth-round draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2007 out of Michigan. He saw action in eight games as a rookie, posting seven special teams tackles before ending the year on injured reserve due to a hip injury.

Burgess spent the entire 2008 season on injured reserve with a shoulder injury that occurred during the preseason. He saw action in Baltimore’s first two games of the 2009 season but did not register any tackles. Wendell, 6-2, 285 pounds, was originally signed by New England as a rookie free agent out of Fresno State in 2008. After spending last season on the New England practice squad, Wendell made the 53-man roster out of training camp and played in the first two games on special teams. The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if Belichick cherry picked Burgess to have an insight into Rex Ryan's scheme for the November 22 match up. Just a thought.

timmy@wickedpissadude.com

<media:rating>nonadult</media:rating>
