La aproape jumătate de an de la festivalul StreetWise, care a avut loc în Parcul Liniei din București în septembrie 2025, am simțit din nou chemarea de a mă întoarce în gangul care cândva fusese pasaj de cale ferată, iar astăzi trăiește ca o galerie de artă urbană, street art și graffiti în aer liber. Un spațiu unde muralul, caligrafia și writing-ul coexistă într-o colaborare uriașă, legală și sinceră, construită din energia pură a unor sute de artiști.

Între timp, am reușit să cunosc tot mai mulți oameni din scenă și să le recunosc lucrările când le întâlnesc prin oraș. Așa s-a întâmplat și pe 6 mai 2026, când, pe lângă dorința de a reveni la StreetWise, am chemat și un prieten din Germania ca să-i arăt galeria asta vie. Am retrăit aproape intact momentul din 2025, oamenii, gălăgia aceea bună, vibe-ul, muzica și senzația că totul se întâmplă exact acolo unde trebuie.

Parcă ieri îl salutam pe Bob, Aeul sau OhBoy, dădeam noroc cu Zeha și Macanache ori mă strecuram prin spatele lui Răzvan, să mă apropii de scenă și să fac câteva cadre cu Norzeatic. Între timp m-am împrietenit și cu Ecoser, un tip foarte energic, cu care simt că pot avea conversații reale și pe care îl percep ca pe un aliat autentic. Sunt genul acela de întâlniri care îți rămân în memorie mai mult decât te aștepți.

Ceva atât de amplu și sincer rămâne întipărit ani întregi. Iar de data asta, la un moment dat, m-am desprins complet de grupul cu care venisem. Filip și Loredana au rămas puțin în urmă, iar eu am simțit pur și simplu nevoia să merg singur printre pereți și să fac câteva cadre ca un salut pentru artiștii pe care îi simt apropiați.

În ziua aceea parcă nu mai comunicam cu oamenii, ci direct cu desenele.

Încă nu există un anunț public, însă am auzit că a doua ediție a festivalului Street Wise va avea loc anul acesta în septembrie. 🤫

‘Lost In The Ocean’ is crafted around evolving melodies, layered textures and a strong vocal presence, and is designed primarily as a listening-focused record while maintaining crossover appeal for club environments. The original showcases Mona Chrome’s ability to balance emotional depth with dance music functionality, creating a production that moves between personal listening and the dance floor.

A New Aesthetic Origin: Wallace Woo's Geological Abstractionism Reshapes the Contemporary Art Conversation in Europe

Hong Kong-born, Paris-based artist Wallace Woo concludes a landmark solo exhibition that has sparked genuine debate across the European art world, introducing a movement that trades speed for depth, and ego for earth.

What does it mean to slow down in an era that mistakes velocity for vision? Wallace Woo has an answer, a lifetime of learning what it means to be.

With the successful close of his solo exhibition in Paris this June, Woo has done more than present paintings. He has introduced Geological Abstractionism, a fully articulated aesthetic system born not from trend or theory, but from nearly two decades of quiet, disciplined practice. The European art world has taken notice.

From Eruption to Excavation

Where 20th-century Western abstraction was driven by emotional eruption and the violent assertion of self, Woo's practice moves in the opposite direction. He relinquishes control, inviting gravity, time, and the slow sedimentation of matter to become co-authors of each work. Paint dries in layers over months. Each stratum holds a memory. The finished canvas is less a statement than a geological record.

"Art history should not be dominated by a single civilisation," Woo has said. "The soul of Asian art possesses the energy to create a new narrative, we no longer need to seek outward; we only need to excavate inward."

This is not a rejection of Western art history, but a confident expansion of it, a positioning of Eastern Zen philosophy and "Inner Geology" as generative forces for contemporary aesthetics, not appendages to them.

The Chamber of Silence: A Room That Does Something

The centrepiece of the exhibition was a spatial intervention Woo calls the Chamber of Silence, a stripped-back room housing a single painting in confrontation with his Tibetan documentary work. Visitors described stepping inside as a form of involuntary decompression: the ambient noise of the city and the digital world cut away, leaving only the work and the viewer.

"We live in an era that mistakes 'speed' for 'progress,'" Woo explains. "This chamber is a rebellion to reclaim a genuine sense of existence."

A Living Archive: The Exhibition as Collective Testimony

In an unusual gesture, the gallery walls became a collecting ground for visitors' written reflections. Hundreds of responses, from artists, academics, and first-time gallery visitors, will be published alongside interdisciplinary dialogues between Woo and a geologist, archaeologist, and glaciologist in the second edition of his monograph, Stalactite – The Clamorous Stillness (ISBN: 978-988-71890-0-8).

The result is a cross-disciplinary archive that refuses the usual hierarchy between art world insiders and the general public, a "collective testimony," as Woo puts it, for a noisy civilisation.

What Comes Next

The Paris exhibition is the opening chapter of a wider international mission. From 6 to 8 November 2026, Woo unveils a new series in Paris: Ridge : To stand in awareness as control falls away, a continuation of his inquiry into time, matter, and the act of letting go.

Second Skin - un performance care centrează corpul și mișcarea, creație colectivă pe conceptul și regia lui Ferenc Sinkó - se poate vedea la Centrul Național al Dansului din București în 14 iunie.

În Second Skin, un grup de performeri explorează amprentele pe care munca, expunerea și viața cotidiană le imprimă asupra propriilor corpuri. Tensiunile dintre corpul intim, corpul social și corpul profesional ies la iveală prin acumulări de gesturi, impulsuri și auto-reflecții. Memoria corpului e revizitată și reconstruită în timp real.

Trecând printr-un șir nesfârșit de situații care îi cer să fie prezent, corpul reacționează cum poate: se ajustează, se blochează, se retrage, repetă tipare familiare. Rezistă. O membrană subțire, identitară, transparentă îl ține viu și în tensiune. Sub presiunea de a performa, stările oscilează între plăcere și nesiguranță, vulnerabilitate și control. Corpul protestează și învață să se adapteze cu forță și determinare. Vrea să se exprime sincer și, totodată, să fie acceptat. Abandonându-se visceralului, descoperă uneori un echilibru fragil și forme neașteptate de libertate. 

„Nu știu în ce categorie să plasez spectacolul, cu siguranță nu este vorba de un spectacol de dans și poate nici de teatru. L-aș numi, mai degrabă, un spectacol hibrid care combină atmosfere, imagini, performeri care își chestionează corpul și prezența pe scenă, cu situații nu foarte concrete și fără a avea o poveste bine definită. Nu am o estetică proprie, asta întotdeauna o las pe mâna altora și îmi place să mă mulez pe propunerile oamenilor cu care lucrez. În schimb, am un demers propriu al procesului pe care îl folosesc în crearea spectacolelor mele. Încerc să creez un mediu propice pentru un proces colaborativ. Lucrez mult cu exerciții de grup, încerc să devorez tema indirect prin multe discuții și exerciții care aparent nu au de-a face neapărat cu construirea spectacolului.” (Ferenc Sinkó, regizorul spectacolului)

„Ca la orice spectacol, sper ca publicul să vină deschis și fără prea multe așteptări. În Second Skin, atenția nu e pe text, ci pe alt tip de limbaj, pe care o să-l recunoască și decodifice cu ușurință. Oricine poate rezona cu tema corpului prin prisma propriilor experiențe. De altfel, se pare că există un soi de „empatie” care se creează atunci când observăm un corp în mișcare, care activează sistemul locomotor și face ca ceea ce vedem să fie oglindit și reprodus la nivel intern.” (Oana Hodade, cea care semnează dramaturgia și spațiul sonor ale spectacolului)

Spectacolul a avut premiera la Cluj-Napoca în 7 iunie și face parte din proiectul Instanțe ale muncii - corp contemporan, ce își propune să investigheze conceptul de muncă și rolul său în societate, pornind de la nivelul individului în relație cu constructele sociale și profesionale, dar și în relație cu propriul corp și felul în care acesta e afectat.

Belgian collective Onderons Records returns with their sixth release and are happy to welcome duo Compact Disc to the label. They deliver an original track alongside our first remixes on the label by Tweestrijd and Veebo.



The main title Uplift is a stripped-down groove driven by a recognizable percussive synth line, subtle bass pressure and carefully placed atmospheres. Minimal in elements, controlled in execution. Tweestrijd reshapes the original through layered percussion, stretched tension and spacious delay work. While Veebo takes the track into deeper territory with an extended dub version. Suleiman Records marks a decade of carefully curated underground electronic music with Sampler Vol. 1, a five-track VA compilation featuring Rhadow, DJ W!LD, Cesare vs Disorder feat. Joe Le Groove, Jackspot and Of Norway. Scheduled to arrive on June 12 via digital format, the release also serves as the label's final chapter after ten years of intense activity.

Today, we premiere "Sur Le Fil" by French house veteran DJ W!LD, a hypnotic cut built around skipping percussion, a rolling low-end and subtle groove dynamics. The track unfolds patiently, layering crisp rhythmic details and spacious textures before opening into a lush, atmospheric finale. Combining the artist's signature jackin' sensibility with a deeper and more refined aesthetic, "Sur Le Fil" perfectly captures the understated elegance that has defined many Suleiman releases throughout the years.

Opening the VA, Romanian artist Rhadow delivers "Collider", a rolling and hypnotic journey driven by trippy vocal fragments and sweeping pads. Cesare vs Disorder returns to the imprint with "Come Back", featuring Joe Le Groove's spoken-word vocals over a deep two-step rhythm and shimmering melodic textures. Portugal's Jackspot contributes "Elypsia", a nostalgic minimal excursion inspired by early European minimal house aesthetics, while Norwegian duo Of Norway closes the package with "Liquid Velvet", a sophisticated composition blending jazzy grooves, cascading basslines and emotive melodies.

f: Hi Tanya, it's a pleasure to chat with you today, please tell us a little about yourself, where you're from and how you started making dance music? 

TANYA TANYA: I’m a UK-based singer-songwriter and producer. I’ve been singing and making music from an early age. My music has been released on Let There Be House Records and upcoming release on Sam Divine’s new label This Is 555. I started out writing pop and R&B. I was always obsessed with lyrics, songwriting and singing since I can remember. I played piano (classically), clarinet and guitar. I really got into electronic music through going to clubs, festival and performing at live PA’s. Around that time, I discovered Logic and spent hours experimenting with sounds and building tracks and that’s a really started writing dance music and my love for dance music began. 

f: Who did you listen to growing up and do they influence your music career at all today?

TANYA TANYA: I grew up listening to an eclectic mix from 90’s 2000’s Pop, Hip-Hop, Disco, Gospel, R&B, UK Funky House and Garage to Neo-Soul. It was pretty much a wide spectrum from Classical to The Notorious B.I.G - I think that contrast shaped my taste early on. I’ve always been drawn to strong female vocals Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan. I was drawn to artists I felt I could relate to vocally and emotionally everyone from Whitney Houston to Celine Dion Aaliyah to Amerie, Kelis to Mariah Carey as well as dance vocalists Barbara Tucker, CeCe Peniston, Robin S and Alison Limerick - Where Love Loves, still sounds great today, one of the best dance tunes ever made in my opinion. Influences from the greats really feed into what I do today. 

f: How would you describe your sound?

TANYA TANYA: One word, I’d say it’s a vibe! It would probably fit into Classic House/Dance genre. Soulful vocals, strong melodies and storytelling lyrics. They’re songs at the heart of it with the emotion of a late-night ballad balanced with club energy but ultimately built to work on the dancefloor. Songs to feel and a move to.  

f: What was your first release? 

TANYA TANYA: ‘Through The Fire’ was my first release. It’s a classic dance track with pulsating piano chords and dramatic strings it’s a real heater! It’s an uplifting, optimistic song about struggle, perseverance and growing stronger which reflected what I was going through at the time. The track was co-produced with Lee Tyler (Rasputin, Kelli-Leigh, Majestic). He was great to work with and really understood the vision.

f: Which of your own releases was the biggest labour of love to create / personal favourite? 

TANYA TANYA: Hmm I’d probably say a track I released called DANCE. As my IG handle is @dancetanyatanya so was just a real fun track made in the moment! I sang the vocals in slightly different style to my other tracks with the BV’s in more disco feel. I wrote the track, finished in the studio and road tested it out one of my live sets and it went off!  

f: And your most successful release? 

I would have to say so far LTBH release which gained support from BBC Introducing BBC Hereford and Shropshire and Crystal Waters!

f: You’ve just released your new single ‘I Wanna Feel’ on Quantize Recordings, what we can expect to hear?

TANYA TANYA: I Wanna Feel is a groove-led, club track with a kind of hypnotic energy running through it. It’s built around rolling rhythms, deep warm basslines, floaty vocals, soulful but we still wanted it to feel quite stripped back and raw. I wrote it on Saturday night in my kitchen, recorded the beats, vocals and keys in one night. I feel it’s always best when you’re not forcing it or overthinking it. I imagined it being one of those tracks that could work in an underground club at 2am or a sunrise set.

f: What’s the song all about?

TANYA TANYA: I guess it depends on perspective but for me it’s about a sense of longing and yearning to connect and be close. I think it’s something most people can relate to on some level. At its core, it’s about vulnerability, putting those feelings out there and being honest with someone about where you’re at and how you feel.

f: How do you typically go about putting a new song together? 

TANYA TANYA: For me it always starts with the piano. Just sat at the piano. I feel starting with the keys just takes it somewhere else! Even with a dance track, I’ll slow it down, find the emotion first. And once that’s there, the production can go in any direction. I usually hear all the production when I’m writing so it helps to lay down what I am hearing and build around that. There are really no limits where you can take it or where it can take you!

f: Who or what inspires your songs? 

TANYA TANYA: I’m inspired by a mix of things really, old records and new music too, especially stuff that sits in that space between the club and everyday moments, conversations, relationships, real-life feelings and situations. I try to take that and turn it into something you can feel in a track whether that’s something uplifting or a bit moodier. I’m not even sure where creativity comes from really, it’s just always felt like a natural thing to do. 

f: You’ve worked a lot with Reza on the production side, how did you two first get together?

TANYA TANYA: I was introduced to Reza through a contact at Ministry of Sound who heard some of my songs. We met and clicked straight away he really understood what I was trying to do and believed in both me and the project. We both have a mutual love for that mid-90s underground sound. It’s great because we get to hang out and make music we love and are genuinely passionate about.

f: What’s your biggest learning curve in the music industry so far?

TANYA TANYA: Probably learning that talent alone isn’t enough. The creative side has always been there but understanding the industry side, patience, consistency, timing and knowing when to trust your instincts. It’s taught me that building something meaningful takes time, staying true to yourself and having the right people around is key.

f: And your biggest triumph?

TANYA TANYA: Besides releases on LTBH, Quantize and This Is 555, just learning to appreciate the small wins as much as the big ones. Finishing off tracks, refining your sound, improving the songwriting, song by song, one day at a time, just seeing the reaction at gigs, it’s the small wins. That really helps me to keep growing as an artist and moving forwards.

f: What’s been your favourite gig of the year and where are you most looking forward to performing soon?

TANYA TANYA: Kidderminster Music Festival with Tinchy Stryder, Michelle Platinum and Female Girls Attitude was the best so far! Looking ahead, I’m looking forward to performing at Windsor Pride this summer as well as upcoming This Is 555 events and ADE in October. 

f: Have you any big goals for the rest of 2026?

TANYA TANYA: Keep building momentum and making music I’m proud of, collaborating with more artists and developing my live set. More than anything staying consistent, trusting the process and continuing to connect to people through my music on and off the dancefloor!

f: Which dance track holds the most precious memories for you?

TANYA TANYA: ‘Finally’ by Kings of Tomorrow (Julie McKnight). I sang it with live sax at my friend’s wedding. It’s something I’ll never forget – and one of my fave tracks of all time!

f: Who are your top 3 current vocalists?  

TANYA TANYA: Right now, Clementine Douglas, Jorja Smith, Becky Hill. It’s great to see women in electronic music pushing boundaries. And they’re all from the midlands originally as well which is cool.

f: What else are you working on at the moment that you can tell us about?

TANYA TANYA: I’ve been busy prepping for live shows and finishing up writing and recording vocals for collab tracks. I’ve been working with a couple of really talented DJ Producers on some new tracks which I absolutely love! Along with a host of projects in the pipeline, excited to share more soon – Stay tuned!

Idium ft. Samantha Seth - Justify (incl. Jason Herd remix) [Bohemian Disco]

UK duo Idium come through with something properly fresh on their new single, 'Justify', and it’s a change in direction in a fabulous best way. They’ve taken everything they’re known for in the UK House and Bassline world and thrown it into this bright, Disco‑leaning groove perfect for the incoming summer nights. The project first sparked at a Subtone writing camp, and you can hear that loose, creative energy in the filtered strings, the brass, the guitars and that ridiculously catchy bassline. Samantha Seth’s vocals sit right on top with this open, honest feel that gives the whole thing its heart. It doesn’t fall back on the usual, predictable Disco shortcuts; it’s got the Disco spirit without pretending to be a remake of something you’ve heard a thousand times. Adding to the package, label boss Jason Herd steps in with a dub that’s perfectly built for DJs who want to ramp the room up a level. Driving bass, rising synths, big builds and a sampled lead synth - the kind of musical ammunition that turns a good set into a big moment!

Multi-faceted artist Darama delivers first edition of his Refractions EP

London-based producer Darama launches a new era with Refractions θ1, the first EP in an ongoing series, and the first release under a sharpened rebrand. Built for the dancefloor but designed to live beyond it, Refractions is rooted in a simple belief: dance music as a place of self discovery. Darama refracts familiar UK club language through hip-hop swing, grime pressure, and South Asian texture - not to replay the past, but to push the feeling forward until it lands somewhere new.

Across three tracks, Refractions θ1 moves with the confidence of peak-time music, but with the detail of a producer obsessed with world-building, rhythmic swing, cinematic cues, and South Asian instrumentation used as architecture rather than decoration. Anchored around 110 BPM, Darama carves a new lane in a tempo pocket that’s still largely under-mapped. It’s anti-nostalgia without being anti-past, an attempt to honour where the culture came from while refusing to let it calcify into a loop.

ASHES opens the EP in motion: a driving drum groove with 00s UKG-leaning chords and a bassline built for forward momentum. Darama threads in vocal fragments from Asha Bhosle’s “Esho Alo Esho Hey”, flipping multiple moments of the source into a new emotional engine -  bright, urgent, and strangely intimate. A euphoric horn line lifts the track into a hands-in-the-air rush before the arrangement folds into a swirling, hypnotic breakdown where the original instrumentation dissolves into its own shadow.

On CRYSTALS (feat. Nine Levels), Darama leans into hip-hop production language, a classic Timbaland-inspired bounce reframed for club systems. Degraded South Asian strings flicker like memories rendered in low resolution, while a heavy 808 undercarriage keeps the track grounded. Nine Levels delivers lyrics focused on impact and legacy, the tension between chasing a mark on the world and the cost of trying. Digital arpeggios spiral overhead, creating a “portal” feeling: not escape, but departure.

GIRLS LIKE THE WHIP is the EP’s most playful left-turn: Darama nods to the classic B15 “Girls Like Us”, but pushes it through early grime-informed sound design, a bouncy 808 bassline, and an uplifting keyboard riff designed for peak escapism. Underneath, a bed of car screeches, road noise, and drifting FX pulls from British Asian car culture that specific night-time mythos of piling into your cousin’s car with the stereo turned up, but reframed as a future-memory rather than a throwback. A cheeky voice clip about RS3s seals the scene: hyper-local detail, widescreen energy.

Refractions θ1 is the beginning of a longer arc, not reinvention for reinvention’s sake, but a clearer lens on what Darama has been building: UK dance music pushed somewhere it hasn’t been yet, without losing the human reason it matters. Music that gives people permission to be their unrestricted self, on a dancefloor or elsewhere.

Natasha Diggs & Megatronic - PEOPLE EP (inc. Jitwam remix) [The Jazz Diaries]

Internationally acclaimed DJ Natasha Diggs and UK-born, Lisbon-based DJ/vocalist Megatronic are proud to announce their first collaborative EP People, set for release in May 2026 via The Jazz Diaries. This new project began in the summer of 2023 when Diggs and Megatronic first joined forces, bonding over a shared vision of dance music as a joyful, soulful, community-centred experience. Intr0beatz - It's Been Good EP [SlothBoogie Recordings]

Few producers have consistently mastered the swing of a deep house groove quite like Intr0beatz. A cornerstone of the SlothBoogie Records family since the early days, he returns to the fold with his third full EP with the crew - a four-track masterclass in the deep, soulful business he’s spent years perfecting.

First up is ‘It's Been Good’ with its deep chords, 90’s-esque vocal chops and rolling “bompty” bass. Up next is ‘Undeniably’, which, like its namesake, is all sorts of classic Intr0beatz flavours. Casa Memorială „Tudor Arghezi” găzduieşte, pe 23 mai 2026, începând cu orele 14:00, un maraton de poezie contemporană desfăşurat în locul în care marele poet a trăit şi a scris o mare parte din opera sa. Evenimentul reuneşte 37 de poete şi poeți din toată țara, într-o celebrare a literaturii române, în curtea de la Str. Mărțişor nr. 26, oferind publicului o panoramă a vocilor poetice de astăzi timp de cinci ore, până la ora 19:00.

Această manifestare culturală, desfăşurată sub auspiciile Catedrei Internaționale Onorifice Jean Bart, aduce literatura contemporană în dialog direct cu patrimoniul cultural național. Programul include lecturi publice moderate de prof. Sever Avram, având-o pe Marieta Mihăiță în rolul de custode-moderator. Experiența este completată de intervențiile muzicale asigurate de OBEAH / Sound of Art to Come.

Maratonul de poezie de la Mărțişor aduce literatura contemporană în dialog direct cu patrimoniul cultural național. Timp de cinci ore poeții invitați vor urca pe rând la microfon şi vor citi din creațiile proprii, oferind publicului o panoramă a vocilor poetice româneşti de azi.
