With that history behind them, their 2026 re‑imagining of 'I Get Lifted' feels both inevitable and completely fresh for today. Intrinsically linked to his earlier Love Connection EP, Sequence 9 feels less like a follow-up rather than the other half of the Love Connection story. Adham Zahran continues to refine his distinctive blend of deep house, lo-fi electronica and understated groove, delivering a collection that's equally suited to solitary listening and the dancefloor's quieter moments.

Adham Zahran isn’t just another name in house music, he’s one of those producers who seems born to it. Hailing from Egypt and growing up in Alexandria, young Adham began his musical journey listening to lots of minimal and house before learning production and music theory. His sound is steeped in an affection for house in all its shades and his musical influences resonate mainly from the Detroit culture and sound. Artists like Kyle Hall, Theo Parrish and Marcellus Pittman.

Adham’s catalogue of music already reads like a tour through the underground. From Galaktika and Manuscript to Moodmusic, Oh! Records, Neovinyl and a string of others, Zahran has stamped his mark across labels that thrive on quality. Now, with the Lunar City EP on Dealt With Records, he continues that trajectory with a body of work that’s both accomplished and adventurous.

His aesthetic breathes a natural affinity for ‘80s electronica, reimagined through a Detroit house kaleidoscope. Synths from his Nord Lead A1 keyboard to his Novation launch pad and xl controller, these instruments acts as conduits of alchemy, coaxing out textures that bring collective goosebumps to the room. "I really wanted a spoken word piece," says Max. "I've always loved stripped-back deep house where the groove and simplicity leave room for interesting chords and carefully chosen vocals. Sio was the obvious choice, and she nailed it."

For Sio, Counting Stars explores the transformative power of self-acceptance.

"It's a poem about delving into yourself honestly and confronting everything you uncover — especially the darker parts society teaches us to hide," she explains. "Your shadow self is needed to incubate and birth your light. It gives you depth, helps you expand and ultimately sets you free."

The result is a dreamlike meeting of soulful deep house and poetic introspection, showcasing another side of Sio's remarkable versatility while further cementing Max Sinàl's reputation as one of deep house's most prolific and exciting producers. Built around grooves, infectious energy, and a timeless club sensibility, the EP reflects Bonetti's deep understanding of what makes House music connect.

On Last Night At Marienbad’s latest, the imprint brings together three of the brightest souls found within the realms of Jazz, namely Mauricesax, 9ick and Milan93, with their collective talents synergising effortlessly on ‘A Garden between Us’, alongside a stellar cast of remixers who add even further delight between the grooves….

As a genre, Jazz has perhaps lent itself the most to other musical universes, in that its curious heart, endlessly experimental nature, and parameter-defying spirit have wrapped itself deep within the core of countless albums, scenes, and music makers. It’s a genre that welcomes reinvention, consistently defying its contents and always reaching out to find new methods of expressionism. Electronic music, in its many forms, has truly embraced Jazz perhaps like no other movement of music has, with a truly astonishing array of records surfacing in the past 40 years which have blended Jazz’s unique motifs with grooves, chords, and emotive excellence. From 90s Jazz house and UR Techno, through to Future Jazz, downtempo, and Hip Hop, and around many other suns, there remains such an intrinsic and symbiotic relationship between the two musical realms that caters to those who wish to live music both within and out with themselves.

As practitioners of blending electronica and Jazz, few do it like the trio of Mauricesax, 9ick, and Milan93. All three are known for their distinctive soundscapes, yet share commonalities in terms of musical language, feel, and sense of progression. Bringing them together allows for overlaps in their sounds to emerge, and just like Jazz itself, this is where the intrinsicness of sound begins to blossom. 9ick brings his softly evolving vibe to the table, one which was so prevalent and celebrated on his 2025 album ‘SMIL’; Milan93 draws from his focal point of exploring fill-laden grooves and a myriad of emotive sensibilities; and Mauricesax draws up his extensive musicality that exists at the corner of jazz, electronic, and experimental music, along with running musical workshops all over the globe.

‘A Garden between Us’ represents the trio’s core tenets, with this immediately obvious from the record's opener, ‘Rhodora’. A gentle solo piano quickly evolves into a series of powerful rhythmic pulses, with brass lines bringing vitality and feel to proceedings. The track shifts gears with purpose, transitioning between musical vignettes of the highest order, with the synth work doing much to bind the transitions together. ‘Tulip’ emerges slightly differently, with glossy Rhodes tones and an unravelling rhythmic undercurrent setting an enthralling stage. The track flourishes amongst sweeping textures, coming up for air amongst a deeply hypnotic rhythmic section that holds on and never lets up. ‘Honeysuckle’ lands next, which sees the trio emerge with a boundless, dynamic soundscape. The drums shift within the undertones, as keys, chords, horns and hip-hop vocal samples dance around the pulse, capturing the imagination with their narrative-like placement. Wrapping up the A side comes ‘Camellia’. A dazzling array of harmonic sounds converges around the transfixing rhythm section, which emerges from deep below to lavishly roll out over the midsection, with the delicateness of the instrumentation a real highlight here.

The B side features two exquisite remixes, with Pacific Coliseum's version of ‘Tulips’ landing first. Beginning with a signature four to the floor to get things going, his careful handling of the source material is seen in the tactful introduction of the blissful elements that made the original cut so impactful, with great focus placed on emotive fidelity. The result is a summer-bound house number that reimagines the original in all the right ways, flipping it into a euphoria-driven jazz-laden pacer that reaches for the heavens as much as it drives right into the heart. Teuteu then showcases their take on 'Honeysuckle', and at 9 minutes long, represents the longest cut on the record - and the experience is all the richer for it. Leaning heavily into dance music flavours, Teuteu shifts perspective totally into the realm of the club, with the walls beating hard to the kicks. The sax lines that drift ethereally up top keep eyes closed and souls full, as the dance shifts into the next phase.

An experience that drifts from the daydreaming, to soul-warming through to the club shaking - what else is left to experience, except for ‘A Garden between Us’ and how it will brighten up life itself….

Un-hidden București invită bucureștenii să privească orașul cu alți ochi. La întâlnirea dintre arta urbană, patrimoniul cultural și explorarea orașului, proiectul propune o serie de experiențe care scot la lumină povești, locuri și perspective pe care, de multe ori, le trecem cu vederea în ritmul de zi cu zi.

Inspirat de moștenirea lui Constantin Brâncuși în spațiul public bucureștean, proiectul deschide noi moduri de a descoperi orașul prin artă și dialog. Pe parcursul său, publicul este invitat să participe la 5 tururi ghidate, să descopere o intervenție artistică multidisciplinară, o expoziție, 2 performance-uri interdisciplinare și 2 dezbateri, fiecare oferind o perspectivă diferită asupra felului în care trăim și împărțim spațiul urban.

Expoziție internațională de pictură, grafică și sculptură la Galeria Cuhnia, Mogoșoaia

În perioada 6–23 august 2026, Galeria Cuhnia a Centrului de Cultură „Palatele Brâncovenești de la Porțile Bucureștiului” - Mogoșoaia găzduiește expoziția de grup, internațională „Peisaje entropice – Ecologii vii - ENTROPIC NATURESCAPE - LIVING ECOLOGIES”, curatoriată de artista vizuală Alexandra Baciu.

Vernisajul va avea loc sâmbătă, 8 august 2026, începând cu ora 17:00 la Galeria Cuhnia, Centrul de Cultură „Palatele Brâncovenești de la Porțile Bucureștiului” - Mogoșoaia

Expoziția de la Mogoșoaia reprezintă cea de-a doua etapă a proiectului expozițional itinerant, după prezentarea de la Muzeul Vrancei din Focșani. O nouă etapă va avea loc în luna octombrie 2026, la Muzeul Municipal „Octavian Moșescu” din Râmnicu Sărat.

Expoziția reunește 33 de artiști din România, Republica Moldova, Macedonia de Nord, Turcia, Ucraina, Cuba, Ecuador, Germania și Malaezia, propunând, prin lucrări de pictură grafică și sculptură, o reflecție asupra relației dintre om, natură, materie și mediul aflat într-o continuă transformare, cât și o întâlnire între artiști din spații culturale diferite, reuniți în jurul unei întrebări comune: cum poate arta să reflecte transformarea lumii vii și să deschidă noi forme de sensibilitate ecologică?.

Proiectul aduce în atenție natura nu ca simplu fundal sau peisaj contemplativ, ci ca organism viu, vulnerabil și interdependent. Conceptul de entropie devine un punct de plecare pentru explorarea proceselor de schimbare, degradare, regenerare și reconfigurare care marchează atât mediul natural, cât și spațiile locuite și experiența umană contemporană.

În contextul ansamblului brâncovenesc de la Mogoșoaia, Galeria Cuhnia, un spațiu a cărui memorie este legată de foc, hrană și transformarea materiei, pune conceptul de entropie în relație cu procese concrete de schimbare. Dialogul dintre arhitectura istorică, peisajul vegetal al domeniului și prezența artei contemporane accentuează tensiunea dintre conservare și transformare, permanență și fragilitate.

Prin această primă ediție, „ENTROPIC NATURESCAPE – LIVING ECOLOGIES” deschide o direcție curatorială orientată către ecologie, memoria locului, sustenabilitate și dialog intercultural, explorând felul în care arta contemporană poate deveni un spațiu de conștientizare, sensibilizare și reconectare cu mediul natural.

Proiectul este inițiat și organizat prin EastArt.eu și curatoriat de Alexandra Baciu.

International Exhibition of Painting, Graphic Arts and Sculpture at Cuhnia Gallery, Mogoșoaia

From 6 to 23 August 2026, Cuhnia Gallery, part of the “Palatele Brâncovenești de la Porțile Bucureștiului” Cultural Centre in Mogoșoaia, will host the international group exhibition “Peisaje entropice – Ecologii vii / ENTROPIC NATURESCAPE – LIVING ECOLOGIES”, curated by visual artist Alexandra Baciu.

The Mogoșoaia exhibition represents the second stage of this travelling exhibition project, following its presentation at the Vrancea Museum in Focșani. The next stage will take place in October 2026 at the “Octavian Moșescu” Municipal Museum in Râmnicu Sărat.

The exhibition brings together 33 artists from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, North Macedonia, Turkey, Ukraine, Cuba, Ecuador, Germany and Malaysia. Through works spanning painting, graphic arts and sculpture, it invites reflection on the relationship between humankind, nature, matter and an environment in constant transformation. It also creates an encounter between artists from different cultural spaces, brought together by a shared question: how can art reflect the transformation of the living world and open up new forms of ecological sensitivity?

The project brings nature into focus not as a mere backdrop or contemplative landscape, but as a living, vulnerable and interdependent organism. The concept of entropy becomes a starting point for exploring the processes of change, degradation, regeneration and reconfiguration that shape both the natural environment and inhabited spaces, as well as contemporary human experience.

Within the setting of the Brâncovenesc architectural ensemble at Mogoșoaia, Cuhnia Gallery - a space whose memory is connected to fire, food and the transformation of matter - places the concept of entropy in dialogue with tangible processes of change. The dialogue between the historic architecture, the estate’s landscaped grounds and the presence of contemporary art heightens the tension between preservation and transformation, permanence and fragility.

Through this first edition, “ENTROPIC NATURESCAPE – LIVING ECOLOGIES” opens up a curatorial line of inquiry focused on ecology, the memory of place, sustainability and intercultural dialogue, exploring how contemporary art can become a space for raising awareness, cultivating sensitivity and reconnecting with the natural environment.

The project is initiated and organised through EastArt.eu and curated by Alexandra Baciu.

The participation of the Cuban artists is supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Romania.

EastArt.eu is an emerging cultural platform dedicated to documenting and promoting Romanian artists and connecting them with artists and cultural initiatives from Eastern Europe, the Balkans and other international contexts. The platform aims to facilitate intercultural dialogue, the exchange of ideas and the development of collaborations through interviews, curatorial projects, exhibitions and presentations of contemporary artistic practices.

Following a short hiatus, independent House music label Sampled Detroit relaunches with a new collection of remixes from label founder Chuck Daniels. Featuring six of his most celebrated remixes, including a newly remastered edition of his acclaimed rework of Andy Toth & Billy Love's ‘Thrillseekers’, the release revisits key moments from Chuck’s catalogue while bringing his sought-after productions back to the dance floor.

Spanning remixes of Andy Toth & Billy Love, Jr Jr, Jake Childs & Laura Frey, Lupe, Evan Rhodes featuring Clara Grun and Johnny Fiasco, the six-track collection showcases Chuck Daniels' distinctive approach to remixing. Blending soulful musicality, driving grooves and timeless House sensibilities, the collection reflects Chuck’s deep-rooted connection to House music while making a selection of standout productions widely available once again.

Among the highlights is Chuck’s remix of Andy Toth & Billy Love's ‘Thrillseekers’. Originally released on Seth Troxler's Play It Say It imprint, the remix received widespread support from leading DJs including Eats Everything and Skream, became a fixture on Ibiza dance floors, earned recognition in Spin Magazine's Top 40 Dance Tracks of All Time and remains one of the signature productions of Chuck Daniels' career. Newly remastered for the relaunch of Sampled Detroit, it returns as the centrepiece of a collection that celebrates both the label's heritage and its future direction.

For more than two decades, Chuck Daniels has remained an influential figure within Detroit's electronic music community. Throughout his career he has collaborated with and earned the respect of some of the city's most celebrated pioneers, including Kevin Saunderson, Carl Craig and Derrick May. His productions and remixes have appeared on seminal labels including Defected, Planet E, Classic, Ministry of Sound, KMS, Yoruba and Warner Brothers, while his work continues to bridge the worlds of House and Techno through a distinctive style rooted in Detroit's musical heritage.

Beyond the studio, Chuck Daniels has made a lasting contribution to Detroit's House music culture through Sampled, his long-running Movement Festival afterparty, which has become one of the city's key annual events for more than twenty-five years. Growing from a local gathering into an internationally recognised brand, Sampled now continues beyond Detroit, with the next event taking place at crobar in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday 8th August, featuring Harry Romero, Mark Farina, DJ Heather, Chuck Daniels and Delish b2b Andre Leone. The event reflects Chuck's enduring commitment to supporting House music, artists, and the wider dance music community.

Founded in 2022, Advisual Records is an underground platform dedicated to promoting modern electronic music through regular podcasts and inspiring releases. To celebrate the release of ADVRVA005, we invited the artists behind the compilation to share a few words about their tracks and the ideas that shaped them.

01. Ale Valenzuela & Claudio Solis – Liminus Seres

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Alejandro and I always aim to create dark, narcotic and unsettling atmospheres through repetition, stirring hidden fears and a sense of unease. We seek to awaken things buried deep within us, and that kind of sonic outcome feels very natural to both of us.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“While we deliberately craft the dark and weathered aesthetic of our sound, it is everyday experiences that shape and inspire our work. Many ideas come from conversations about philosophy and human relationships during downtime spent in a laundromat. We try to channel those reflections into music that stirs something unsettling deep within us, and only when we feel that sense of unease do we commit the project to record.”

02. Alex Oprea – What Happened To Me

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“A groovy track built for the dancefloor that blends driving rhythms with a deeper emotional layer hidden beneath the surface.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The track was inspired by a message I felt the need to express through music. While it’s designed to work on the dancefloor, I believe there is always room for introspection within the genre of electronic music we are approaching.”

03. Avram – 2 Step Eddy

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“A garage and 2-step influenced track inspired by the relaxed feeling of a summer night. I wanted to capture that warm, laid-back atmosphere through the groove and rhythm.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The rhythm was created using an UNO Drum Machine that I bought while living in Amsterdam. It has a unique swing and character that shaped the foundation of the track and inspired the direction of the groove.”

04. Chevi – Hidden Reality

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“A hypnotic minimal track with a playful bassline and subtle textures, crafted to set the mood during warm-up moments and early-hour sets.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The main idea was to create a track for those opening moments when you slowly build the atmosphere and invite the crowd into a hypnotic state without rushing the energy. I was inspired by the feeling of warm-up sets, where tension is created gradually and every element has its own space.”

05. Crescio – Greed

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Groovy, raw, progressive and dark techno that holds nothing back. Made to burn the floor.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“Society is sick with greed. Politicians and businessmen piling up capital while half the population starves. Will we be able to build a political system dedicated to serving people and preserving the planet? Or will we keep burning everything down in the name of those who have more and want more? Will we stay blind to everyone else’s needs?
Greed — see you on the dark side.”

06. DIKKA – Blindspot

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Blindspot, made for the club ambience, deep bassline and straightforward drums.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“With me it’s always the same, I sit down and start doing shit until something happens. The bass could take me in a whole different direction or just a sound, you know how it goes. The idea behind it was to make a track that’s driven by the bass and takes you to a place you rarely find yourself.”

07. Dubet – Something In The Air

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Something In The Sky is a groovy track where the percussion takes center stage. The break is basically all the drums breaking down while the bass, the pad, and the other sounds do their thing.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The song was inspired by different music that I listened to in those days. And the main idea came up while I was working on the track’s break. After trying out a few ideas, I decided to do something with the drums.”

08. Gabriele Borgia – Cats Aren’t Real

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“I would describe the track as a track that has a deep feeling but with a happy and chill atmosphere.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“What inspired the track was my cat (i have a cat) and watching her behavior I realized that Cats Aren’t Real “

09. Gabu – Dust Theory

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Dust Theory is a deep, hypnotic minimal track with dusty textures, subtle grooves, and an evolving atmosphere.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The idea behind Dust Theory was to create the feeling of movement through an abandoned, dusty landscape where every small detail slowly comes to life. I wanted to keep it minimal while letting the textures and groove tell the story.”

10. Gammon – Zeitgeit

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Zeitgeit is a deep dark track with a heavy hypnotic groove, led by a driving bassline. The centerpiece is the dark acoustic guitar that sends you into a cinematic wave and ritual dance.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The inspiration came from the alternative rock genre. Listening to melancholic rock tracks gave me the idea to take some rock guitar samples and combine them with dark minimal through hypnotic spiral mindscapes.”

11. K-lil – Migu

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Migu is a minimal house track built around rolling grooves, rich textures, and subtle movement.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The idea was to create an organic, immersive atmosphere where groove and texture take the lead, letting small details evolve naturally throughout the track.”

12. Lascu – Ma Dusei La Targ

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“I think the track speaks for itself. Personally, I find the track mellow, mysterious and dark, combining underground electronic elements with traditional folkloric instruments for a more contemporary sound.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The inspiration for the track was the true sound of traditional Romanian folklore combined with the dark sound of the rominimal style. I wanted to build that small tension, a bit of a deep but dreamy and mysterious vibe.”

13. Lucide – Beatcode

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Beatcode is a groove-driven track with subtle pads, textured synths and layered percussion, designed to keep the energy flowing from start to finish.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The main idea was to create a unique vibe through the interaction of different sounds. A big part of the track comes from custom one-shots that I generated and reshaped using different techniques, giving it its own character.”

14. Minube & Doler – Hidden Pines

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“I would describe this track as a steady and consistent beat, complemented by playful percussion, sounds from nature and, of course, a shamanic voice. All these elements together create a groove that I believe is fully appreciated by our listeners.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“This track was created spontaneously. It all started with a meeting with my colleague, Doler. We sat down in the studio and started building sound after sound. While DOLER was working on the groove, I was improvising different sounds on the synthesizer. We recorded all the ideas and, in the end, brought them together into a single track, which we consider a true masterpiece.”

15. Misla – Dubbed To This

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“I would describe my track as a blend of two universes that come together through a dub way of being. Nothing too difficult or complicated, just two nuances colliding in a very chill way :)”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The idea behind the project was to create raw sampled drums and place them in an atmosphere full of space and depth, accompanied by a vocal that caught my attention while I was scrolling through current reggae music.”

16. Mtps – Nowhere To Go

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Abstract, introspective, rhythmic.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The source of inspiration: everything.”

17. Never Alone In A Dark Room – Tensioplatsz

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Intense and steady. Mystical dark abstraction. Storytelling dark with intense character and personality.“

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The idea was to develop a minimal dark composition that can be played during peak hours at a club, but at the same time could also work at the beginning of a set, while experimenting with my own signature sound.”

18. Offset (ECU) – Overhead

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“A flowing vibe of dream landscapes.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“I love dreamy vibes in music, like pads and textures, so the main idea was to create a story with those elements that takes you to another dreamy place.”

19. Quantifiq – La Genesa

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“We would describe the track as a sonic capture of chiaroscuro.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“We saved an old piano from ending up in the trash and built the track around its dark and dissonant sound.”

20. Q’uwa – Satoris Brüetsch

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“A deep, hypnotic groove where meditative voices, tension, and release unfold in quiet balance.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“Satori’s Brütsch explores the balance between two ideas: Satori, the state of inner clarity and presence, and Brütsch, the idea of brotherhood. It’s both an abstract reflection on the importance of meaningful human connections and a personal dedication to a close friend in Zürich, whose friendship has helped me remain connected to that state of Satori. More than telling a story, the track is an expression of gratitude translated into sound.”

21. Sakdat & Balaur – The Third Calling

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“A hypnotic microhouse groove built around subtle textures, rolling rhythms and a distinctive vocal that gives the track its identity.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The idea was to stay true to our signature sound while building the track around a vocal that immediately caught our attention. We wanted to keep things simple and effective, letting the vocal and the groove work together naturally and shape the mood of the track.”

22. Sonoma (MX) – Mistica

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Mistica vibes all the ways.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“Tough times never last, music does.”

23. Spiri:tual – Solkyss

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“I would describe my track ‘Solkyss’ as an afterhours track made for those rising sun moments early in the morning. It doesn’t require any effort from the listener, as it simply floats unperturbed within its own magical space.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“The inspiration for this track came from an ambient set which I was meditating with in the forest. I wanted to create a piece of music that takes the listener to another place without losing its own pace. The beauty of making a spacious experience without restraint, while still containing a groove for the floor, is just enchanting for me.”

24. Type B. – Alum

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“A groovy minimal track with a deep bassline, rolling drums, and small details that keep it moving.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“I wanted to make something simple but engaging. The idea was to create a groove that slowly pulls you in and feels natural on the dance floor, without trying to do too much.”

25. Zei – Depth Of Woods

How would you describe your track in a few words?

“Depth Of Woods is a deep, atmospheric journey inspired by the final track of my live set at Tkeshi Festival, which became the crowd’s favorite moment of the night.”

What inspired it, or what was the idea behind it?

“Tkeshi means “in the woods” in Georgian, and that feeling shaped my track’s identity, dark, cozy, and hypnotic, capturing the feeling of wandering through deep woods under a dark blue sky. It drifts between calmness and subtle intensity, wrapped in chilly, immersive grooves.”

f: Hi Jenny, it’s a pleasure to chat with you today, how are you?

Jenny: Likewise - although it’s my pleasure to be speaking with you! I’m really good, thank you. The sun is shining and that always makes me smile.

f: Please tell us a little about yourself, where you’re from and how you started making dance music?

Jenny: I’m Manchester-based but Bolton born and bred - the land of Peter Kay! I started DJing back in 2000 and over the years began producing tracks that I wanted to play in my own sets. I think my first production was around 2004 with Nick Hussey - a house remix of Lionel Richie’s ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’! I might still have a copy somewhere… although it’s probably best left gathering dust! What I love most about making music is creating something from absolute silence. Walking into the studio with nothing and leaving with a track is an incredible feeling. The studio is genuinely my happy place.

f: Who did you listen to growing up and do they influence your music career at all today?

Jenny: Culture Club, George Michael, Wham!, Alison Moyet, Erasure, Bronski Beat, Curiosity Killed The Cat… I could go on! My bedroom walls and even the ceiling were covered in Culture Club posters - I was completely obsessed. One of those surreal full-circle moments came years later when I ended up DJing alongside Boy George during a tour of Indonesia. We played a huge shopping mall in Jakarta and I’ll never forget that experience.

Another crazy memory was how my career actually started. Back in 2000, after only teaching myself to DJ for a couple of months, I spotted a DJ competition in the Daily Star clubbing pages run by Andros Georgiou. There was no Google or social media back then! I sent in a demo CD and thought nothing more about it… then I won! That led to some incredible opportunities including Ministry of Sound gigs and eventually a Friday night dance show on Key 103 Manchester, while Graeme Park hosted Saturdays. Looking back, it still feels surreal.

f: How would you describe your sound?

Jenny: I love big-room house music that’s powerful, uplifting and driven by a chunky bassline. I also love deep, rolling grooves, huge synths and lots of subtle background textures that add movement and atmosphere. I want people to feel something when they hear my tracks.

f: What was your first release?

Jenny: I made quite a few tracks before officially releasing anything. YouTube was only just finding its feet back then, so I’m not even sure anyone was uploading music like they do now! (That makes me sound ancient!) Over the last few years I collaborated with Atari Safari and also released music on Cleveland City. One of those releases was my ‘Criticize’ Remix, which is probably a little lighter than what I’m producing today. Most of my current productions are now being released on Muscle Funk.

f: Which of your own tracks was the biggest labour of love to create / personal favourite?

Jenny: Definitely ‘Sunday In The Room’. I couldn’t get ‘Sunday Shouting’ and ‘Wrong’ by Everything But The Girl out of my head, so I decided to fuse those influences together into something that felt fresh. It works brilliantly when I play it out and always gets an amazing reaction on the dancefloor.

f: What has been your most successful release?

Jenny: Ask me again in a few months! I’ve got five new tracks being released over the coming months and I’m actually having to slow myself down because my head is overflowing with ideas. I’m slightly obsessed with making music at the moment, so I’m excited to see which release resonates most with people.

f: You’ve just released your new ‘Going Crazy’ single on Muscle Funk, what can we expect to hear?

Jenny: I wanted something powerful with a huge female vocal and almost a preacher-style message. I came across an incredible preacher whose life story really struck me. Before finding God she’d experienced drink, drugs and some incredibly difficult times, and she would sing during her sermons. Amazingly, I found her within seconds of searching for inspiration. It genuinely felt like the universe had handed me something special. I built the track around the most powerful parts of her message and created a journey with moments that pull everything right back before exploding into huge hands-in-the-air drops. It’s about everything spiralling out of control, feeling like you’re going crazy… while somehow feeling completely alive at the same time. I absolutely love playing it.

f: What inspired the single?

Jenny: I wanted to create something people could relate to. You’ll hear lyrics like “overworked”, “over-taxed”, “under stress”, “helpless” and, for some people, “hopeless”. They’re emotions so many of us experience. But that’s what music does. It takes you somewhere else. Even for a few minutes, dance music lets you forget everything and just lose yourself.

f: The release also features a remix from Lenny Fontana, what did he bring to the table?

Jenny: Firstly… WOW! Having an absolute icon of house music and one of New York’s true pioneers remix one of my tracks is a real privilege. Lenny completely transformed it. He took it on a different journey with a disco-infused, jazzy groove that’s impossible not to dance to. It’s uplifting, feel-good and an incredible dancefloor record. I couldn’t be happier with what he created.

f: How do you typically go about putting a track together?

Jenny: My phone is full of ideas! My Notes app is packed with little snippets and my voice recorder is full of me singing melodies or talking ideas to myself. Hopefully nobody ever hears those recordings because I’ll definitely stick to DJing and producing rather than singing! Normally I know exactly how I want a track to feel before I even start producing it. Everything comes down to emotion. If a sound gives me goosebumps in my headphones or on a big sound system, then I know I’m onto something. I’m inspired by old records, new records and sometimes just by experimenting and accidentally creating something special.

f: What’s your favourite piece of studio kit?

Jenny: Keyboards. Every single day of the week.

f: What’s been your favourite gig of the year and where are you most looking forward to performing soon?

Jenny: Playing Café Mambo Festival at Coombe Abbey in Coventry for Miss Moneypenny’s in May was incredible. It was sold out with around 8,000 people, loads of friends were there, the atmosphere was amazing and the weather was glorious. Have I mentioned I love sunshine? I’m also really excited about Ibiza this summer, where I’ve got several gigs lined up along with meetings with promoters and clubs. It feels like another exciting chapter.

f: You’ve also had a long career working in radio, please tell us a bit about that.

Jenny: As I mentioned earlier, it all started after winning that Daily Star DJ competition. The day the results were published loads of my friends were ringing me saying Darren Proctor from Key 103 was asking me to call the station. I didn’t believe them at first! Eventually I rang, went in to meet them and was offered my own Friday night dance show. I absolutely loved every minute of it. It became one of the station’s biggest dance shows and I had so much freedom to play the music I genuinely loved.

Back then record labels would send out exclusive vinyl promos before release. I remember receiving the original instrumental version of The Shapeshifters before anyone else had heard it. The first time I played it in a club the place went absolutely crazy and every DJ wanted to know what it was. Moments like that were priceless. My first guest was Axwell and from there the guests just kept coming. I also met some huge names while working at the station including Justin Timberlake and Robbie Williams. A few years later I even toured Sweden with Howard Donald as DJs… travelling around in an A-Team van! There have definitely been some unforgettable moments along the way.

f: What has been your biggest triumph in your musical career so far?

Jenny: Simply having the opportunity to travel the world doing something I love. I’ve toured Indonesia several times and played in Singapore, Brazil, Dubai, Italy and many other incredible places. I’ve met some amazing people and I’m still friends with my Italian agent from years ago. Like most DJs I’ve spent plenty of time in Ibiza, but I’ve also been lucky enough to play private parties for Manchester United players, England internationals and, probably my favourite memory of all, DJing for George Michael. I even managed to persuade him to sing ‘Last Christmas’ to me… despite the fact it wasn’t Christmas!

f: And your biggest challenge?

Jenny: Without question, becoming a mum while working as a touring DJ. I realised I couldn’t be half a mum. Constant travelling, late nights and being away just wasn’t the life I wanted for my son. It wasn’t an easy decision, but I chose to slow the DJing right down and build another career - quite literally building houses rather than playing house music! My son is now 11 years old, and as he’s grown older I’ve been able to throw myself back into music. It feels like I’ve come full circle and I’m loving every second of it.

f: Which dance track holds the most precious memories for you?

Jenny: Chicane ‘Offshore’. Nothing will ever change that answer. I first heard it at The Temple in Bolton and immediately ran over to the DJ asking what it was. It hadn’t even been released yet and I had to put my name down to pre-order it. The day it finally arrived I rushed home, put my headphones on and honestly got goosebumps. I must have listened to it a thousand times. The icing on the cake was sharing a line-up with Chicane at Mambo Festival this year. That was a real full-circle moment.

f: Who are your top 3 current producers?

Jenny: That’s such a difficult question because I admire so many producers for different reasons!

Rue Jay - powerful, punchy and uplifting productions, Kolter - quirky grooves with loads of personality, and L.P. Rhythm - a brilliant modern take on the sounds I grew up listening to.

f: What else are you working on at the moment that you can tell us about?

Jenny: I’m spending as much time in the studio as possible. I’ve already finished my next four tracks and I’m working on another two. My head is constantly full of ideas and I genuinely don’t want to slow down. For me, a great track gives you goosebumps and makes you feel something. When it’s one you’ve created yourself, that feeling is even more special. I’ve also just secured a few gigs in Ibiza and have meetings lined up with promoters and clubs while I’m there in August. I’m really enjoying where this journey is taking me. Life is a journey… Enjoy every minute of it.

Dave Angel Announces Definitive New ‘A Time And Place’ Album Rooted In Jazz, Soul & Heritage, With First Single ‘Réflexion’

British electronic music pioneer Dave Angel announces his most personal and accomplished album to date, ‘A Time And Place’, with the unveiling of first single 'Réflexion', featuring the celebrated trumpeter Steve Waterman. Marking a deeply significant chapter in the acclaimed artist's career, the album sees Dave drawing upon Jazz, Soul and improvisational influences alongside a lifetime of musical experiences. f: Hi Ethan, it's a pleasure to chat with you today. How are you?

Ethan: I'm good thanks, really looking forward to chatting.

f: Please tell us a little about yourself, where you're from and how you started making dance music?

Ethan: I was born in Godstone in Surrey then I moved when I was 4 to Hedcorn in Kent. I first got into music through production. My Dad bought me Cubase 7 Elements for Christmas when I was 12, and that was the start of it all. Over the years I'd go in and out of making music, my Dad was concerned about me getting into the limelight too young, but eventually I decided to take it seriously. Growing up, I'd listen to my Dad’s DJ sets every morning on the way to school, and that's what really got me into house music. I became fascinated by the sounds, the grooves and the emotion in the records, and that naturally led me into wanting to make my own music.

f: Who did you listen to growing up and do they influence your music career today?

Ethan: The obvious answer is my Dad. I grew up listening to his album Analog, and that had a huge impact on me. The classic synths used throughout those productions, like the Prophet and the Moog, really stuck with me, and they're sounds I still love using in my own productions today.

The influence wasn't really about the lifestyle or the success. It was seeing someone who genuinely loved what they did every day and being able to share that with people through music. It sounds simple, but that's what inspired me the most. I wanted that for myself.

f: Is having a famous DJ dad a help or a hindrance? Does he get involved much with your work?

Ethan: It can be both. I have met people and experienced things that I might not have done without my Dad, yet I am also prone to receiving more criticism because people can think I have had an easy time or that my Dad has given me a step up the ladder. That’s really hard to take as a new artist to the scene just trying to get recognised for what I do and something I’ve worked very hard at. People can be overly critical and mean online! My Dad is a perfectionist as anyone who knows him will testify to. So there is no way on earth he would make a recommendation to someone about me or push me into an opportunity if he didn’t think I was ready.

I take my production very seriously, and it's important to me that my music has its own identity. I've been lucky enough to have an amazing mentor in my Dad who's helped me learn Cubase over the years, but when it comes to my productions, they're completely my own. My Dad doesn't get involved in writing or producing my music. If I ever ask for advice he'll always give me an honest opinion and that second opinion is valuable from someone at his level and something I don’t take for granted, but I've always wanted people to like my music because of the records themselves, not because of my surname.

f: How would you describe your sound?

Ethan: I'd describe it as soulful house with plenty of groove. I love using classic analogue-inspired synths and Rhodes sounds, but pairing them with tougher, swinging drum grooves to keep the energy up. Vocals are a big part of my music too. Whether it's spoken word or a full vocal performance, I always like having something soulful that gives the track personality and emotion.

f: What was your first release? 

Ethan: My first release was 'Elevate Your Mind' on Soulfuric Records. I was genuinely blown away when Soulfuric wanted to sign it, especially as it was my first ever release. I wanted to introduce myself with a deeper house record that DJs could easily work into their sets. As a new producer, finding the right vocalist can be difficult, so I was incredibly grateful when Mandel Turner came back wanting to be involved. His vocal completely lifted the track.

f: Which of your own tracks was the biggest labour of love to create / your personal favourite?

Ethan: That would definitely be 'Give Me Time' with Andre Espeut. I actually started the instrumental around two years ago, but it sat on my hard drive for quite a while before I sent it over to Andre. When he came back with the vocal, I knew I had to revisit the production and really do it justice. It probably took the most patience of any track I've worked on. Finding the balance between making it feel full and emotional while still keeping it true to my sound was a challenge, but one I really enjoyed. From the production right through to the release and promo, it's probably the track I'm most proud of.

f: What has been your most successful release?

Ethan: So far it's 'I Get Lost' on Soulfuric Records, which has reached around 86,000 streams on Spotify.

Seeing people continue to discover and support the track has been amazing. It's definitely given me confidence to keep pushing forward with my productions.

f: And what's your favourite own remix? 

Ethan: I haven't officially released a remix yet, so there's nothing I can share just yet. I've got a couple of remixes in the pipeline that we've been testing in sets, and the reactions have been really encouraging. Hopefully it won't be too long before one of them is ready for release. I felt it was important to produce my own music first because there are not enough people my age doing that right now.

f: You've just released your new collaboration with Andre Espeut, 'Give Me Time' on Sultra Records. What can we expect to hear?

Ethan: Expect plenty of energy, soul and emotion. I've always wanted to make a track that captures that uplifting summer feeling while still having enough drive to work on a dancefloor. Andre's vocal really brings the record to life, so I think it's one people can enjoy whether they're listening at home or hearing it in a club.

f: What inspired the song?

Ethan: There wasn't one particular record that inspired it. It actually came together quite naturally just from experimenting in the studio.

More than anything, I wanted to create something that felt emotional without losing the energy. That's something I always try to bring into my productions.

f: How did you link up with Andre?

Ethan: Andre met my Dad, Michael, at an event last year at Ministry of Sound. He asked initially to work with my Dad, but he was busy with the start of his Album so suggested he worked with me first.  I sent him three backing tracks, hoping he'd maybe like one of them, but to my surprise he wanted to work on all three. That was a real confidence boost, and we've got plenty more music coming together. I am extremely grateful to him for taking that confidence in working with me as a new producer and it worked out really well for both of us. 

f: How do you typically go about putting a track together?

Ethan: I nearly always start with the drums. Once I've got an eight-bar groove that feels right, I'll start playing chords over the top until I find a riff that catches my ear. From there I'll begin searching for the right keyboard sounds, whether that's a Rhodes, Prophet or another analogue-style synth. The bass usually comes next, followed by little hooks, textures and details that help build the track. Once all the core elements are there, it's about arranging everything so the record keeps evolving and holds your attention.

f: What's your favourite piece of studio kit?

Ethan: I'd probably say my DX7. It's one instrument I always find myself going back to. Whether it's warm chords, pads or little hooks, it always seems to find its way into my productions. If we're talking software, I'd also say Cubase has become second nature after using it for so many years.

f: What's been your favourite gig of the year and where are you most looking forward to performing soon?

Ethan: My favourite gig this year has to be the Sultra event at Night Tales Loft for the Album launch for “You & Me”. Everything about the night just clicked. The crowd were amazing, the atmosphere was spot on and it was great meeting so many people who genuinely love house music. Nights like that remind you why you do it. I'm looking forward to getting back out over the summer and announcing a few more shows soon including more for Sultra. Sultra started out as my Dad’s record label and brand but it’s quickly evolving into a family brand and I now work with my Dad and Mel to promote new events. I find it works well as we bring music to a wide range of ages. 

f: Who would you love to do a B2B set with?

Ethan: I'd have to say Mousse T. His productions have always been a huge influence on me, and I love the way he blends soul, funk and house together. I think that would be a lot of fun.

f: Which dance track holds the most precious memories for you?

Ethan: Hardsoul & Ron Carroll – Back Together. The first time I heard that record I was hooked. Before I was old enough to go to the pub, me and my mates would sit out in a field with a few beers, and I'd always make sure that track was queued up. Every time I hear it now it takes me straight back to those memories.

f: Who are your top three current producers?

Ethan: Michael Gray, Mousse T. and Jazz-N-Groove (Brian Tappert & Marc Pomeroy). All three have their own unique sound, and they've had a massive influence on how I approach production.

f: What else are you working on at the moment that you can tell us about?

Ethan: I've got a few more records with Andre Espeut coming later this year, which I'm really excited about.

I'm also working on new music for Sultra Records, including a few tracks that we're already testing in DJ sets, as well as some remixes and collaborations with some brilliant new vocalists. There's plenty of music on the way, and I can't wait for people to hear what's coming next.

From 7 to 10 August 2026, the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento will once again become the setting for FestiValle, the international festival of music and digital arts. For its tenth anniversary, the festival presents the complete lineup for “10 Years Together”, an edition celebrating a decade of independence, artistic research and dialogue between contemporary music and the preservation of Sicily’s archaeological heritage. Ezra Collective, APPARAT live band, Greentea Peng, Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles, Octave One, Mind Enterprises and Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp are joined by a new selection of artists completing one of the most ambitious editions in the festival’s history, further enriched by special projects and anniversary moments. The lineup once again reflects FestiValle’s ability to move naturally between jazz, electronic music, funk, club culture and new international sonic directions. Among the most anticipated additions is Mace, who will perform a special late-night DJ set on the aftershow stage overlooking the temples, following Ezra Collective’s concert that will open the festival’s tenth anniversary edition. His presence further strengthens FestiValle’s commitment to contemporary club culture while preserving its distinctive, cross-genre curatorial approach.

The aftershow programme will also feature Yu Su, the Chinese artist based in Canada and one of the most refined producers in contemporary international electronic music, whose work blends ambient, house and Balearic influences into immersive sets; Belgian duo Lander & Adriaan, performing exclusively for their only Italian date, with a project that is redefining the relationship between jazz and club music through an unpredictable, percussion-driven live performance; and French collective Il Est Vilaine, appearing in Italy for the first time with a cinematic, dark and highly atmospheric take on club culture. The tenth anniversary will close symbolically with a special DJ set by Raffaele Costantino, following APPARAT’s performance. Live performances will once again play a central role in expanding and shaping the festival’s musical narrative. Among FestiValle’s most distinctive features are its special sunset concerts on the circular stage overlooking the Temple of the Dioscuri, which have become one of the festival’s most recognisable signatures. Three performances are scheduled: Sorvina, the US artist based in Berlin whose songwriting moves between hip hop, jazz, organic electronics and melodic tension, in one of the most anticipated live performances of the edition; Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Munir Hossn, making his Italian debut with the new project Mystic Samba, created together with a special all-female ensemble of multi-instrumentalists; and the Italian debut of The Josh Barry Experience, the project led by the British singer, combining contemporary soul, groove and a distinctive raspy voice with a retro edge. The Main Stage will also host Banda Maje, a ten-piece full band from Salerno presenting its new album. One of the edition’s key emerging projects and among the most compelling acts in the new Italian scene, the group reinterprets Mediterranean groove and disco through a contemporary lens. From Los Angeles, Butter Funk Family will bring an ensemble built around the energy of funk and collective improvisation, turning the stage into a high-intensity rhythmic ritual led by Printz Board, two-time Grammy Award winner and former collaborator of the Black Eyed Peas. Il Risveglio degli Dèi, the festival’s special sunrise event at the Temple of Concordia, is also celebrating its tenth anniversary. A Sicilian original production featuring more than thirty performers, it has become one of the festival’s most iconic and recognisable moments over the years. The festival’s daytime and additional activities will once again complete the programme. FestiValle Beach will return and expand in 2026: every day from 12pm to 4pm, at San Leone beach, audiences can relax between sea and music with DJ sets by FestiValle’s official selectors. The festival’s cultural programme will also feature returning talks and explorations such as Clan Acustico, Raffaele Costantino’s format investigating musical communities beyond the mainstream and documenting forms of cultural resistance through sound.

As tradition dictates, FestiValle will continue to inhabit the entire Valley of the Temples as a distributed festival: from sunset concerts overlooking the Temple of the Dioscuri at Case Montana and the Kolymbethra Garden, to the Main Stage at the Tuff Quarry (Teatro dell’Efebo), the panoramic aftershows overlooking the temples and the sunrise at the Temple of Concordia, every location becomes an integral part of the festival’s narrative, visual and immersive experience. Scenic installations and site-specific videomapping interventions redefine the perception of these spaces each year, transforming the archaeological site into a temporary performative ecosystem. The 2026 edition will tell this story through more than twenty concerts and performances, aftershows overlooking the temples, live sets immersed in golden sunset light and unforgettable moments at sunrise.
