Feed Mailer opened its doors 5 years ago in 2004 - a service grown out of pure necessity.

Service Status & Future

FBOT Problems I would like to once again to apologies to everyone affected by the new FBOT problems, it seems like we are not trying to the average user however this is further from the truth. So I would like to shed some light on our situation, firstly in the past we were hosted on a large and popular web host that seemed a good choice at the time, as Feed Mailer grew it seemed the server couldn’t handle the millions of e-mails we were sending out so we were told to move our e-mail service somewhere else. This is the reason for our last downtime, once we had moved we changed the script to better deal with our large requests and the FBOT service worked very well with very few bugs. Now that our site has grown to be huge in the last few months it seems our new host cannot handle with our requests which means our script is crashing and causing the FBOT to fail mid-way through our user list.

FMSE: Update & BarCamp Leeds

Hello again, it is I, John Slater. Just want to let everyone know what is happening here because we haven't made much of a noise since last month.

Feed Mailer SE - Version 2 - will be announced in a matter of weeks, this announcement will include a list of features (not all of them) and also some bits and bats you can use to help promote us. We haven't yet announced a release date because we are falling more and more behind.

We are working as hard as possible and we are certainly making some ground with the new version, already the features are coming together very well and they are now at a point where its just a case of making them look nice and making them work smoothly.

On the 17th November 2007 Me & Chris Richardson (Co-Founder) will be attending BarCamp Leeds and will use the event to show off what we have got so far. If you want a sneak peak or you want to learn about some of the new features or just some of the ideas we have then come along, we would love the attention.

Shortly after BarCamp i will personally be announcing some of our features to give the users an idea of what to expect. Then once we are the stage where we can open it to the public (secretly) we will do and people who apply for Beta testing will get an invite.

Meanwhile keep adding feeds, keep inviting friends and also spreading the word. If you do a nice blog post on us then we will personally thank you and link to you on launch day of Feed Mailer SE.

Facebook Application

Good-Day people. Just a couple of things to announce, the first is that everything is now back to normal and running smoothly. We had to upgrade our servers on Sunday/Monday so everything was down, apart from FBOT.

Secondly today is that we have our very own Facebook Application for you guys to add, its mainly to promote Feed Mailer but it has proven useful to a few people, it basically shows a list of RSS feeds currently added to Feed Mailer. Its a lot like the thing we had on the homepage, only in your Facebook account. Please add it even if you dump it at the bottom it will help us. The link is below.

The site went down early yesterday, we are very sorry about this, it appears that something went wrong with the host we were using. We are back and working now. Sorry about this, it was out of our control.

I’m not one to be outdone by Mr Richardson’s blog posts, so im gonna break even this month with this new post. I’m letting everyone know about Feed Mailer SE. Its now safe to say that Feed Mailer SE or FMSE, as we like to call it, is nearing the 80% finished mark. Chris and his team have been working extra hard, mainly Chris however I did make an icon this week.

Morning everyone we have fixed FBOT. That’s all we have to say, its working very well, we still have a few problems with it but we have fixed it enough to be able to post this message, we will continue working on FBOT until its working 100%, thanks for your patience.

Good afternoon readers, i would like to apologies to everyone, we are still having a lot of problems, at the moment we are facing problems with FBOT which you are aware of, we are making strong progress with that, we now seem to be facing a problem with the Feed Manager, for some reason people are having trouble adding feeds. This means people are getting annoyed, to these people and to everyone else I would like to say sorry personally.

We are working on a solution hard and fast, this is taking longer than expected because GOD HATES US because with every fix comes another error. We are also aware that the loading speed has decreased a lot, we are also working on this.

Hello Loyal users, we have been working hard for the last 3 weeks really trying our best to make the fbot work. We are getting there bit by bit but we are not confident that the product is stable, we are very sorry that this has happened and we understand how upset some of users are.

We will be making some well needed changes to the service�s structure in the next few days. As a result the website will be up and down until the problems are fixed. You may also find that you are receiving a few e-mails from the FBOT, this is because of the testing, if you would like your account temporally disabling then e-mail our support team, they will do this for you, then once the entire site is fixed we will re-enable your account.

If you are one of many members subscribed to any of the digg feeds you will be seeing some problems. This is not our fault and is an error on diggs side. We have spoken to them and they are working on the problem. Please sit tight, we are very sorry for this problem, we cannot help it.

Hello everyone, we have fixed the bugs that were causing the breakage of FBOT. We have prematurely upgrading to the new version of FBOT (Version 3.0) because of the bugs which we wanted to launch when the new version of Feed Mailer is released.

Emails on hold!

Over the last 2 weeks the FBOT has been showing signs of struggle and recently stopped sending emails to a mass of people. We have since fixed this bug but still some people are not getting emails. We have therefore shut down the FBOT until further notice to find and fix the bug. Sorry about this, this shouldn't take long.

FBOT Errors - Paused

These past few days we have noticed several errors with the fbot. Some people are not getting e-mails and the people who are, are getting e-mails with errors in. If the problem persists the fbot will be taken offline until we can fix the problem. As soon as it is back online we will post an announcement. FBOT v3.0 with the new version of Feed Mailer will be released in a matter of weeks now and we didn�t expect the old scrip to break for no reason. Feel free to e-mail me with any other problems and bugs and I will pass them onto development.

As you can tell its been quite some time since we have updated, this does not mean we have been on holiday sucking it up to the sun, it just means we have encountered any problems that may effect the service.

Another reason would be the extensive coding and designing, ha designing, pressure that the team has been under, oh how I laugh at design pressure, with the new version coming later this� well soon. Not going to release any details about the new version, I merely posted this to let you know we still love you and want you to create little Feed Mailer babies with us.

If you have a suggestion for us then now is that time, e-mail me personally john@feedmailer.net and I will see that its considered by the ideas man him self. If we like it then I see no reason to leave it out and we will dump it into the new version.

Hello everyone, i thought i would let everyone know that we have added one more thing to Feed Mailer today. I'm sure its something you are not happy with but we feel it is something we need to add to ensure we can develop the service more.

We have added ads to the e-mails, this is something the team looked over and didn't want to have to do, but its the only way we can ensure we put more money back into the company. We are currently running with a banner ad that asks the user to register for free, this will give us a small amount of money which means we can put more money back into the development team. Different ads will be showing very soon, but please register to the service for free, they give you points for every penny you spend at sponsored shops.

First of all I hope you all had a brilliant Christmas, some of you are still enjoying the time off school or work. This week I got to work on some mini new features for Feed Mailer, these are little tools that will help you create an RSS feed link for YouTube and MySpace Blogs. The reason we have these features is because YouTube doesn�t really explain how to create one and doesn�t have an easy route to the RSS feeds for users. Also MySpace isn�t as hard as YouTube but makes it hard, for people who don�t know much about RSS, to access. Hope you enjoy them. JCWEB and Feed Mailer are growing very well and its all thanks to you guys.

Directory Update

We recently added several hundred feeds to the directory that user have added. All have been sorted and the poor quality ones have been hidden, this way we have a quality directory of feeds.

A few new things

I thought I would start off with the boring stuff. I have just made some amendments to the About Us page, now all the people who wrote stories about us have been linked too.

Now more interestingly, the new Directory is online, it contains lots of new feeds, better loading times like I said it would, and also something else. The new version has got its feeds sorted by Adds, this means you can see the most popular feeds without having to scroll through all the pages to find what other people like, cool huh?

The directory is not 100% finished yet, still rolling out some new features as you may see, but in time it will be brilliant, I would also like to thank all of the users of the site for their support throughout the last months, we couldn�t have done it without you, I like saying thanks once in a while. Enjoy

Directory not working?

I�m sure you may have noticed that the Feed Directory has been down for a few days now, don�t worry it will be back very soon. Chris is just sorting some long awaited features. I won�t go into to much detail because I�m sure Chris will want to explain in more details. One of the features which aren�t so great but needed never the less is the load time. We didn�t have a very fast loading directory which was very annoying for users with slow connections.
Sit tight anyway we will be back online shortly. I would also like to announce that everything e-mail-wise is working spot on now, no old items in e-mails and for those that didn�t even get e-mails, well you are now. Great isn�t it, two fixes in one go.

It seems apologies are in order to all of our visitors and members. Yesterday we struck a snag with our server and spent a lot of the day down yesterday. For this I would like to say how very sorry I am for this, and also how very sorry Chris is also.
I spend all night trying to get the site back online, Chris also spent time this morning helping me get the site back online, after round 12 Hours of downtime we are back and hopefully we will be here to stay.

Hello, i have been investigating some issues with people account, i have found that some people do not receive updates or get old updates constantly. If this is happening to you, then please report it to me straight away as it its a problem that will need to be fixed.

The RSS Feed which recently stopped functioning has been fixed and now works fine. I would like to take this time to tell you that the official Feed Mailer blog RSS feed will now work correctly. It�s a mistake we created when changing something and because of the other problems we faced throughout the last week we failed to notice. I would personally like to say how sorry we are to the latest members; due to a recent update to our registry system we created a bug while fixing another. This bug caused a problem with the sending of activation e-mails. There is no way we can activate accounts that don�t verify e-mails so we have personally sent out activation codes to everyone who missed out.
