Who are the mahrams in front of whom a woman can uncover?

Praise be to Allaah.

It is permissible for a woman to take off her hijaab in front of her mahrams.

A woman's mahram is a person whom she is never permitted to marry because of their close blood relationship (such as her father, grandfather, great-grandfather, etc., and her son, grandson, great-grandson, etc., her paternal and maternal uncles, her brother, brother's son and sister's son), or because of radaa'ah or breastfeeding (such as the brother and husband of the woman who breastfed her), or because they are related by marriage (such as the mother's husband, the husband's father, grandfather, etc., and the husband's son, grandson, etc.). More details on this subject are given below:

🌾Mahrams by ties of blood

These are the ones mentioned in Soorat al-Noor, where Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"… and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband's fathers, or their sons, or their husband's sons, or their brothers or their brother's sons, or their sister's sons…" [al-Noor 24:31].

The mufassireen said: the woman's male mahrams by ties of blood, as stated clearly in this aayah or inferred by it are as follows:

1- the woman's forefathers, no matter how far back the line of ascent goes through her father and her mother, such as her father's forefathers and her mother's forefathers. As for her husband's forefathers, they are her mahrams by marriage, as we shall see below.

2- her sons, which includes her children's children, no matter how the line of descent goes and whether they are descended from males or females, such as her sons' sons and her daughters' sons. As for her "husband's sons" mentioned in the aayah, these are the husband's sons from other wives, and these are her mahrams by marriage, not by blood, as we shall see below.

3- her brothers, whether they are her brothers through both the mother and father, or through the father only or the mother only.

4- the children of her siblings, whether they are descended through the males or females, such as the sons of her sister's daughters.

5- paternal uncles and maternal uncles. They are mahrams by blood even though they are not mentioned in the aayah, because they are like parents and are regarded by people as having the same status as parents, and a paternal uncle may be called a father. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

"Or were you witnesses when death approached Ya'qoob (Jacob)? When he said unto his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We shall worship your Ilaah (God — Allaah) the Ilaah (God) of your fathers, Ibraaheem (Abraham), Ismaa'eel (Ishmael), Ishaaq (Isaac)…" [al-Baqarah 2:133].Ismaa'eel was the paternal uncle of the sons of Ya'qoob.

🌾Mahrams by radaa'ah (breastfeeding)

A woman may have mahrams through radaa'ah. It says in Tafseer al-Aloosi:

"The relationship of mahram which permits a woman to show her adornments may be through radaa'ah as well as through blood ties, so it is permissible for a woman to show her adornments to those who are her fathers or sons through radaa'ah." (Tafseer al-Aaloosi. 18/143) The relationship of mahram by radaa'ah is like the relationship of mahram by blood – it means that marriage is forever forbidden by virtue of that relationship of mahram. This was the view stated by Imaam al-Jassaas when he commented on this aayah. He said (may Allaah have mercy on him): "When Allaah mentioned the fathers and that their marriage to these women is forbidden forever, this indicates that the same prohibition applies in other relationships of mahram, such as the mother of the woman and those who are mahrams by radaa'ah, etc." (Ahkaam al-Qur'aan by al-Jassaas, 3/317).

The same things are made haraam by radaa'ah as by ties of blood.

It also says in the Sunnah: "The same things are made haraam by radaa'ah as by ties of blood." This means that the people who are mahram to a woman because of blood ties are also mahram because of radaa'ah. It was reported in Saheeh Muslim that 'Aa'ishah Umm al-Mu'mineen (may Allaah be pleased with her) said that Aflah the brother of Abu Qu'ays came and asked permission to see her. He was her uncle through radaa'ah. This was after hijaab had been revealed, so she refused to give him permission. When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came, she told him about what she had done and he told her to give him permission. (Saheeh al-Bukhaari bi Sharh al-'Asqallaani, 9/150). This hadeeth was also narrated by Imaam Muslim, where the wording is: from 'Urwah from 'Aa'ishah, who told him that her uncle by radaa'ah, who was called Aflah, asked permission to see her and she did not let him. She told the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and he said to her, "Do not observe hijaab in front of him, because the same relationships of mahram are created by radaa'ah as by blood ties." (Saheeh Muslim bi Sharh al-Nawawi, 10/22)

A woman's mahrams through radaa'ah are the same as her mahrams through blood ties.

In accordance with the Qur'aan and Sunnah, the fuqahaa' have stated that a woman's mahrams through radaa'ah are the same as her mahrams through blood ties. It is permissible for her to display her adornments before her mahrams by radaa'ah just as it is permissible for her to display her adornments before her mahrams by blood ties. It is permissible for her mahrams by radaa'ah to see whatever of her body it is permissible for her mahrams by blood ties to see.

🌾Mahrams by marriage

A woman's mahrams by marriage are those whom it is forever forbidden to marry, such as the father's wife, the son's wife or the wife's mother. (Sharh al-Muntahaa, 3/7).

The mahram by marriage of the father's wife is his son from another wife, for the wife of the son it is his father, and for the mother of the wife it is the husband. Allaah says in Soorat al-Noor(interpretation of the meaning):

"… and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband's fathers, or their sons, or their husband's sons…" [al-Noor 24:31].
Their husband's fathers and their husband's sons are mahrams of the woman by marriage. Allaah mentioned them along with their (the women's own) fathers and sons, and made them all the same in the sense that women may display their adornments in front of them. (Al-Mughni, 6/555)

APGA, the alleged Igbo party was dumped and left to crumble. Ojukwu had died. The new Igbo party was PDP. The plan was going well. Jonathan would win election and our brothers would continue chopping on our behalf. The Grand plan was for 2017. Oil blocks allocations would expire in 2017 and there would be fresh allocations. Boys were positioning themselves for the greatest cake. Dasuki released 500M to Jim for igbo elders. They did a perfect job. In churches Buhari was branded antichrist and antichristians whose ambitions were to islamize the east and persecute Christians. Prayer points were raised and brethren fasted against his emergence . Jonathan was sent by God and only his emergence would save the church. Brethren spoke in tongue and prophesied. Anyone who ever prophesied anything contrary to Jonathan winning was branded antichrist and anti Igbo. Jonathan was igbo, our brother. Ndi Hausa hate us so much. Buhari wrote Ohaneze severally to pay them a visit. No one as much as acknowledged his letter not to talk of inviting him. What's the point? Our son is running and he's gonna win anyways. Narrated by Malik bin Sa'sa'a (r.a): The Prophet (s.a.w.) said, "While I was at the House in a state midway between sleep and wakefulness, (an angel recognized me) as the man lying between two men.

A golden tray full of wisdom and belief was brought to me and my body was cut open from the throat to the lower part of the abdomen and then my abdomen was washed with Zam-zam water and (my heart was) filled with wisdom and belief.

Al-Buraq, a white animal, smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey was brought to me and I set out with Jibreel. When I reached the nearest heaven, Jibreel said to the heaven gate-keeper, 'Open the gate.'

The gatekeeper asked, 'Who is it?' He said, Jibreel. The gate-keeper said "Who is accompanying you?' Jibreel said, 'it's Muhammad.' The gate-keeper said, 'Has he been called?' Jibreel said, 'Yes.' Then it was said, 'He is welcomed. What a wonderful visit his is!'

Then I met Adam and greeted him and he said, 'You are welcomed O son and a Prophet.'

Then we ascended to the second heaven. It was asked, 'Who is it?' Jibreel said, "Jibreel.' It was said, 'Who is with you?' He said, 'Muhammad' It was asked, ''Has he been sent for?' He said, 'Yes.' It was said, 'He is welcomed. What a wonderful visit his is!"

Then I met Eesa (Jesus) and Yahya who said, 'You are welcomed, O brother and a Prophet.'

Then we ascended to the third heaven. It was asked, 'Who is it?' Jibreel said, ''It's Jibreel". It was asked, 'Who is with you? Jibreel said, 'Muhammad.' It was asked, 'Has he been sent for?' 'Yes,' said Gabriel. 'He is welcomed. What a wonderful visit his is!'

(The Prophet added:). There I met Yusuf and greeted him, and he replied, 'You are welcomed, O brother and a Prophet!' Then we ascended to the Fourth heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in the previous heavens.

There I met Idris and greeted him. He said, 'You are welcomed O brother and Prophet.' Then we ascended to the Fifth heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in previous heavens. there I met and greeted Haroon who said, 'You are welcomed O brother and a Prophet".

Then we ascended to the sixth heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in the previous heavens.

. There I met and greeted Moses who said, 'You are welcomed O brother and. a Prophet.'

When I proceeded on, he started weeping and on being asked why he was weeping, he said, 'O Lord! Followers of this youth who was sent after me will enter Paradise in greater number than my followers.'

Then we ascended to the seventh heaven and again the same questions and answers were exchanged as in the previous heavens.

There I met and greeted Abraham who said, 'You are welcomed o son and a Prophet.' Then I was shown Al-Bait-al-Ma'mur (i.e. Allah's House). I asked Jibreel about it and he said, This is Al Bait-ul-Ma'mur where 70,000 angels perform prayers daily and when they leave they never return to it (but always a fresh batch comes into it daily).

' Then I was shown Sidrat-ul-Muntaha (i.e. a tree in the seventh heaven) and I saw its Nabk fruits which resembled the clay jugs of Hajr (i.e. a town in Arabia), and its leaves were like the ears of elephants, and four rivers originated at its root, two of them were apparent and two were hidden. I asked Jibreel about those rivers and he said, 'The two hidden rivers are in Paradise, and the apparent ones are the Nile and the Euphrates.'

Then fifty prayers were enjoined on me. I descended till I met Moses who asked me, 'What have you done?' I said, 'Fifty prayers have been enjoined on me.' He said, 'I know the people better than you, because I had the hardest experience to bring Banu Israel to obedience.

Your followers cannot put up with such obligation. So, return to your Lord and request Him (to reduce the number of prayers.' I returned and requested Allah (for reduction) and He made it forty.

I returned and (met Moses) and had a similar discussion, and then returned again to Allah for reduction and He made it thirty, then twenty, then ten, and then I came to Moses who repeated the same advice. Ultimately Allah reduced it to five.

When I came to Moses again, he said, 'What have you done?' I said, 'Allah has made it five only.'

He repeated the same advice but I said that I surrendered (to Allah's Final Order)'" Allah's Apostle was addressed by Allah, "I have decreed My Obligation and have reduced the burden on My slaves, and I shall reward a single good deed as if it were ten good deeds."

O People of the Book! commit no excesses in your religion: nor say of Allah anything but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a Messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Do not say "Trinity": desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is One God: glory be to Him: (far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

Idris Alwma .......was mai (king) of the Kanem-Bornu Empire, located mainly in Chad, Cameroon and Nigeria. His name is more properly written Idris Alawma or Idris Alauma. An outstanding statesman, under his rule (1564–1596) Kanem-Bornu touched the zenith of its power. Idris is remembered for his military skills, administrative reforms and Islamic piety. His feats are mainly known through his chronicler Ahmad bin Fartuwa. His main adversaries were the Hausa to the west, the Tuareg and Toubou to the north, and the Bulala to the east. One epic poem extols his victories in 330 wars and more than 1,000 battles. His innovations included the employment of fixed military camps with walls, permanent sieges and scorched earth tactics where soldiers burned everything in their path, armored horses and riders as well as the use of Berber camelry, Kotoko boatmen, and iron-helmeted musketeers trained by Ottoman military advisers. His active diplomacy featured relations with Tripoli, Egypt, and the Ottoman Empire, which sent a 200-member ambassadorial party across the desert to Alooma's court at Ngazargamu. Alooma also signed what was probably the first written treaty or ceasefire in Chadian history.

Alooma introduced a number of legal and administrative reforms based on his religious beliefs and Islamic law. He sponsored the construction of numerous mosques and made a pilgrimage to Mecca, where he arranged for the establishment of a hostel to be used by pilgrims from his empire. As with other dynamic politicians, Alooma's reformist goals led him to seek loyal and competent advisers and allies, and he frequently relied on slaves who had been educated in noble homes. Alooma regularly sought advice from a council composed of heads of the most important clans. He required major political figures to live at the court, and he reinforced political alliances through appropriate marriages (Alooma himself was the son of a Kanuri father and a Bulala mother).

Kanem-Bornu under Alooma was strong and wealthy. Government revenue came from tribute (or booty if the recalcitrant people had to be conquered) and duties on and participation in trade. Unlike West Africa, the Chadian region did not have gold. Still, it was central to one of the most convenient routes across the Sahara desert. Between Lake Chad and Fezzan lay a sequence of well-spaced wells and oases and from Fezzan there were easy connections to North Africa and the Mediterranean. Many products were sent north, including natron (sodium carbonate), cotton, kola nuts, ivory, ostrich feathers, perfume, wax, and hides, but the most profitable trade was in slaves. Imports included salt, horses, silk, glass, muskets, and copper.[4]

Alooma took a keen interest in trade and other economic matters. He is credited with having cleared the roads, designed better boats for Lake Chad, introduced standard units of measure for grain, and moving farmers into new lands. In addition, he improved the ease and security of transit through the empire with the goal of making it so safe that "a lone woman clad in gold might walk with none to fear but God."

In nearly all the western countries including Europe, the PRIMARY choice for meat is PIG. There are a lot of farms in these countries to breed this animal. In France alone, Pig Farms account for more than 42,000. PIGS have the highest quantity of FAT in their body than any other animal. But Europeans and Americans try to avoid fats.

Thus, where does the FAT from these PIGS go? All pigs are cut in slaughter houses under the control of the department of food and it was the headache of the department of food to dispose of the fat removed from these pigs. Formally, it was burnt (about 60 years ago). Then they thought of utilizing it. First, they experimented it in the making of SOAPS and it worked.

Then, a full network was formed and this FAT was chemically processed, packed and marketed, while the other manufacturing companies bought it. In the meantime, all European States made it a rule that every food, medical and personal hygiene product should have the ingredients listed on its cover. So, this ingredient was listed as PIG FAT. Those who are living in Europe for the past 40 years know about this. But, these products came under a ban by the ISLAMIC COUNTRIES at that time, which resulted in a trade deficit.

Going back in time, if you are somehow related to South East Asia, you might know about the provoking factors of the 1857 CIVIL WAR. At that time, Riffle Bullets were made in Europe and transported to the sub-continent through the sea. It took months to reach there and the gun powder in it was ruined due to the exposure to sea.

Then, they got the idea of coating the bullets with fat, which was PIG FAT. The fat layer had to be scratched by teeth before using them. When the word spread, the soldiers, mostly Muslim and some Vegetarians, refused to fight, which eventually lead to the civil war. The Europeans recognized these facts, and instead of writing PIG FAT, they started writing ANIMAL FAT. All those living in Europe since 1970's know this fact.

When the companies were asked by authorities from the MUSLIM COUNTRIES, what animal fat is it, they were told it was COW and SHEEP FAT.

Here again a question raised, if it was COW or SHEEP FAT, still it is HARAAM to MUSLIMS, as these animals were not SLAUGHTERED as per the ISLAMIC LAW.

Thus, they were again banned. Now these multinational companies were again facing a severe drought of money as 75% of their income comes from selling their goods to Muslim Countries, and these earn BILLIONS OF DOLLARS of profit from their exports to the MUSLIM WORLD.

Finally they decided to start a coding language, so that only their Departments of Food Administration should know what they are using, and the common man is left lurking in the dark. Members of President Buhari’s delegation to the United nations General Assembly have accused Prof. Joy Ogwu, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, of sabotaging President Muhammadu Buhari’s participation, citing glaring missteps that have embarrassed the delegation and undermined Nigeria’s work.

The accusation follows curious circumstances in which Nigeria missed two key events, putting its leadership on the spot. The first was a Boko Haram response event chaired by a UN Under-Secretary Mike O’Brien, which Buhari missed completely.

The Nigeria leader, who will speak in the general debate this evening, also missed a meeting with the Catholic Pontiff, Pope Francis, because of his late arrival to the meeting, the bizarre circumstances of which are only just being understood.

Sources within the delegation told SaharaReporters that the delegation also missed at least two other events and has had a difficult time securing full participation in the very important 70th Assembly.

In the case of the Boko Haram event, the sources told our reporter that it was never put on President Buhari’s calendar by the Nigerian mission.

Regarding the event with the Pope, Buhari missed it because when he came down from his hotel suite, there was no car to take him to the meeting. When he decided to walk to the event with his entourage, he was taken by Nigerian mission officials to the wrong gate, where they were denied entry by security agents.

Buhari then walked back to his hotel where, when he got on the elevator, the mission finally brought a car to take him to see the Pope.

Sources say when he made that second trip in the Mission’s car, he was again driven to yet another wrong gate and the delegation was turned back.

Also, yesterday an attempt by the delegation to attend a side meeting where Nigeria was to have declared its support for the “Commitment to Gender Equality” initiative almost failed as the mission failed to provide any secondary party to facilitate the Nigerian delegation’s participation. It took the intervention of the Chinese mission to help former member of house of reps Abike Dabiri and other delegates to get into the event.

And then today, members of the Nigerian delegation led by the governor of Niger state again denied access to another important event, “EveryWoman, EveryChild,” because of poor organization.

As Buhari prepares to speak today at the UN, the delegation also hit a major hitch as the Mission did not process tickets for all members of the delegation to get into the event. Only President Buhari and a few members of his protocol team were accredited to get in the venue. Our source said it was when Buhari finally got upset about it that Prof. Ogwu when out and processed acoustic tickets to enable a larger number of delegates to attend the event.

Apart from the fiasco with accreditation and general conference management, the members of the delegation are also not provided food in their hotel rooms as is the tradition. Instead, they are made to eat at a buffet at the Mission. According to his aides, President Buhari refused to go to the buffet.

A UN observer blamed President Buhari for the mess. He berated the president for his delay in appointing ministers, saying it is the major reason his UN trip is "failing miserably".

One retired Nigerian diplomat told SaharaReporters he hopes President Buhari has seen the folly in relying on unsupervised civil servants, since he came to power, to run the affairs of state.

Bukola Saraki has been in the news lately. The fellow I understand wants to be the next President of the Senate and the Chairman of the National Assembly. As a Nigerian and a Senator, he has the right to vie for the office in question. His colleagues in the Senate however have a moral duty to reject him unless of course they are as corrupt and criminally inclined as he is.

Before we go further, I must introduce myself. My names are Abdullahi Imam Abdullahi, a clinical psychologist and a scion of the Imam Fulanis of Ilorin Emirate, Kwara state. I have witnessed first hand Bukola’s maladministration in my state. The tales are too many. I will list just a few. Before I do that, I will also make a detour to write about Bukola’s sordid past long before he became Governor of Kwara state – a gift his daddy gave him before he clocked 41 in 2003. It will become apparent in a little while that Bukola is not cut from any moral fiber.

Bukola Saraki and his immediate younger sister, Gbemisola Saraki have always lived on daddy’s dime. In the mid 1990s, Bukola Saraki and his sister were regular visitors to Criminal Investigation Department at Panti, Yaba, Lagos, over allegations of theft leveled against the two by the Nigerian government under General Sani Abacha. It is a blatant lie by Bukola to claim that former President Goodluck Jonathan set the EFCC after him because he moved a motion on fuel subsidy – Bukola was only trying to be clever by half. We shall come to that later. It was at CID Panti that Bukola Saraki met one of his later sidekicks, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Lanre Jimoh (popularly called Lanre Olopa). ACP Lanre Jimoh was a junior officer during this period and he went out of his way because of his Ilorin kinship to assist Bukola Saraki maneuver the Nigerian police muddle. I am not aware that the case was ever closed. It was more like it was hushed like everything else in Bukola Saraki’s life. In the mid 1990s when this happened, was Abacha also witch hunting Bukola Saraki?

This is what actually happened from our findings at the Kwara Restoration Project. After Bukola Saraki spent countless years trying to be a medical doctor in England, he finally managed to pass the medical exams in 1988. This, after spending a decade in British higher education in the pursuit of a medical degree. In 1989, Bukola did his House job as a medical officer at one of the hospitals in England and moved back to Nigeria to join Société Générale Bank in 1990 as the Vice Chairman representing his father’s interest. Bukola continued what he knows how to do best – spending other peoples’ money. He didn’t care that there were many other stakeholders at Société Générale Bank – Shareholders, Employees and Customers, he dipped his hands into the Bank’s purse voraciously and his little sister Gbemisola partook in the bazaar. When Abacha took over, he was intent on punishing the bank robbers of the day, Bukola Saraki was one of them and thus Bukola became a regular visitor to CID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.

Abacha’s death saved Bukola from going to jail but Société Générale could not be rescued, when the late Admiral Muhammad Lawal, former Governor of Kwara state, fell out with Dr. Olusola Saraki, the Sarakis liquidated Societe Generale to finance Bukola’s governorship campaign. Since then, Société Générale Bank, Nigeria Limited became history until recently when Bukola in cahoots with some others invested in Heritage Bank through proxies.

When Société Générale became insolvent, a lot of hardworking Nigerian families lost their entire savings and many lost their lives in the process. As a clinical psychologist I know that when we talk about money, we ought to go beyond the paper and look underneath to see the men and women whose lives depend on it. Bukola Saraki and his family stole depositors’ money and in the process destroyed millions of lives in the process. These lives are not mere statistics, they are someone’s son and daughter, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, father, mother, mother in law, father in law etc. and the most prominent amongst these individuals is Austin Jay Jay Okocha who lost a considerable amount of money in Société Générale. Later, as Governor of Kwara state, Bukola sought to bribe Jay Jay Okocha with some type of arrangement at the Kwara Football Academy which he established with Kwara state money but later converted into a private concern. There is more to that deal than the scope of this paper will allow.

When Bukola became Kwara state Governor, he continued in his characteristic corrupt ways. He assumed that the Kwara treasury was an extension of Société Générale and daddy’s magnanimity. He dips his hand into the Kwara treasury at will and disregards government due process. Those who try to stand up against his impunity were dealt with mercilessly. Dr. Hezekiah Bamidele Oyedepo was one of those individuals. After the gentleman couldn’t stomach Bukola’s excesses any longer, he transferred his services to the Federal Government under President Olusegun Obasanjo as a Director in the Federal Ministry of Water Resources. There are countless others who are not so fortunate.

A case in point was when Bukola Saraki, drunk on power slapped Alhaji Saka Isemin, a commissioner under his administration for being more loyal to Bukola Saraki’s own father than to Bukola.

Bukola’s eight years reign as Governor of Kwara state was typified by stealing and the conversion of state properties into his own using cronies such as Kamaldeen Ajibade, the former Kwara state Attorney General and one non Kwara, Yomi Ogunsola. These two individuals more than others within Bukola’s corrupt inner cycle hold many of Kwara’s converted assets.

I will list some of them here; Kwara Cashew Company, Kwara Tourist Kitchen, Patigi Regatta Motel, Kwara Advanced Diagnostic Centre (Now renamed Harmony Advanced Diagnostic Centre), the Shonga Farms was largely financed by Kwara under a very shadowy arrangement. The Kwara mall and countless other state properties were converted by Bukola Saraki.

Now, some of us at the Kwara Restoration Project are not averse to entrepreneurship. In fact, we welcome it. What we are averse to is stealing of government properties and converting same into personal estates. By all means, if Bukola Saraki makes his own money and invests such in Kwara state, we welcome it and we perhaps may even celebrate it. But in this case, we have incontrovertible evidence of Bukola’s daylight robbery of Kwara state. We were fortunate through our contacts at the corporate affairs commission to get certified copies of how these companies were transferred to the two cronies earlier mentioned. We took it upon ourselves to hand these documents to our senior ulamas (Islamic scholars) in Ilorin to act on and call Bukola to order but they sat on it. During the just concluded elections, the opposition PDP got the documents from us and they sought to publish same in the Punch Newspapers but the Punch Editor told them that Bukola had already got a court to give him a spurious injunction restraining all Nigerian media, print, broadcast, etc against publishing any negative article on his person even if they are true. On this issue of converted Kwara state assets, anyone that doubts the veracity of my claims should please make an independent verification from the CAC in Abuja.

Bukola Saraki has also been linked with Arson in Kwara state. Shortly after Bukola left office as Governor of Kwara state and his personality conflict with former President Goodluck Jonathan is simmering over Jonathan’s refusal to honour his side of the bargain for Saraki’s assistance during Jonathan’s 2011 election as President; Bukola panicked when the EFCC began to go over the Kwara state financials between 2003 and 2011. Bukola in cahoots with some of his foot soldiers like Otunba Tunde Morakinyo organized some cult boys to burn the computer office of the Kwara state Ministry of Finance. The cultists who carried out this operation did not cart away anything besides burning down the documents. It is noteworthy that they went with a generator to perpetrate their criminal act. One security guard who was not in the know of things and tried to resist was shot dead. The police commissioner at the time, an elderly gentleman from the eastern part of Nigeria was in the know and perhaps a few others.

It is also important to point out that the heroic security guard that was killed crossed over to the state police command that is directly opposite the scene of the crime and was refused help before taking matters into his own hands. May his soul rest in peace with his Maker. The state police command is literally opposite the Kwara State Ministry of Finance and yet the cultist stayed for over one hour burning and destroying documents in the middle of the night with no official state power confronting them. The police commissioner who went along with this nefarious act was later shot dead by hired assassins on his way to his village during the Christmas of 2012. I do not know whether Bukola was involved but the coincidence was too ominous.

When Bukola Saraki left office physically in 2011 as Kwara Governor, he made sure to install a placeholder in his stead thus guaranteeing him ruling by proxy. Bukola is the only Nigerian politician who is serving an unconstitutional fourth term because AbdulFatah Ahmed is tied to his apron strings and cannot make any independent decision on his own. Directors and permanent secretaries in the Kwara state civil service have been known to route memos to Bukola behind the back of the placeholder AbdulFatah Ahmed. This is a feat that even his godfather, former President Olusegun Obasanjo could not pull off.

In essence therefore, distinguished Senators of the 8th National Assembly, you are advised to stay clear from coronating Bukola Saraki as your Senate President. He does not typify any decent, democratic values. He is greedy, corrupt, self absorbed, violent, autocratic and does not have regard for the basic tenets of African culture and tradition in the way he treats those older than him with disrespect until lately.

The only reason you will elect Bukola Saraki as your President is only if he is just like you men and women who populate the Senate chamber, in which case, you would have found a perfect replica of yourselves.
