Joe Browns Summer Loving Dress

Since moving to Nerja my life has been all about change. One of the main changes has been my wardrobe which, I am pleased to say, is considerably brighter than it used to be. For so long, since I hit my late twenties I guess, I have been dressing down – dull clothes, dull colours and, ultimately, this led to a dull me!

No more.

My wardrobe has been getting considerably more colourful and, I know my friend Sarah of Once Upon a Blog will be truly surprised to hear this, girly over the last few months. I´m wearing colours, and shockingly, pink. One of my favourite collections of clothes now has got to be Joe Browns – I love them and soon I will be taking receipt (a month or so according to Simply Be) of the dress of my dreams. Gorgeous isnt it? Incidentally I am now a fashion blogger as well as a food blogger! Never thought I would see the day but, as people tell me frequently, life is all about change. If you had asked me 5 years ago if I would have ever been seen out in THAT dress I would have laughed as the people in white coats came to drag you away…

I am starting to like the new me.

My mother has been working to master her very own recipe of Seville Orange Marmalade Bread & Butter puddings. Its made with sliced wholemeal bread layered with butter and seville orange marmalade. The one she made today, whilst not the prettiest pudding in the world perhaps, was absolutely devine. Its delicious and moorish. So moorish there is, rather unfortunately, none left.

Despite being sunny and warm where we were on the coast just a glance inland, towards the mountains, revealed snow on the highest peeks. It is one of the many reasons I adore Andalucia.

Saag Aloo

I had not realised it was so long since I submitted a SatScenes. This was the highlight of my Saturday – a wonderful Indian Take Away from The Curry House in Nerja. We had Chicken Malaya (chicken with pineapple in fresh almond and cream sauce), Saag Aloo (spinach and potatoes with medium sauce) and Chana Massala (spiced chick peas in a medium sauce). Delicious!

One of my favourite salads in Nerja can be found at Cafe La Forja, Avda Mediterraneo, Nerja. This delightfully fruity salad comes with strawberries, kiwi, apple, pineapple and orange as well as the more “traditional” salad items. Delicious drizzled with olive oil, white wine vinegar and a light sprinkle of salt. Lovely! Taken on my mobile so a little fuzzy :)

Walking along the front at the moment is lovely. On Saturday the sun was shining but, owing to the strong winds, it was still a little cold. The flowers in the small gardens have started to bloom though – very pretty. Failed to do them any real justice.

Apologies for the lack of updates of late – my schedule is hectic. Not only do I currently have quite a few jobs on at present but my exercise regime is really busy too. In between walking, interval training and swimming all I seem to do is work! But I am hoping for a payoff come August when I intend to take the month off to celebrate my (hopefully) greatly reduced moi :)
