Getting a good night’s sleep is far more vital than most of us believe. Despite the fact that scientists have proven it to be of the utmost importance, both to our mental and physical health, few of us get the right amount of sleep, or the best quality. For many of us, sleep is broken, nights are too late and mornings are too early. The truth is that we could all feel a lot better and get a lot more done if we did just a few things to improve the way that we sleep.

Whilst it seems obvious, the most important step is something few of us get right – timing. It’s too easy to stay up late – no matter how early we know we are getting up the following morning. This subsequently results in too little sleep, as we deny our bodies the rest they need to recuperate fully for the next day. Whilst for most of us there is little we can do about the time we have to get up, we all have full control over when we go to sleep. Try getting to bed a little earlier and see how you feel.

The amount of sleep needed varies from person to person, and is more precise than you might expect. Speak to a doctor about how much sleep you should be getting. Whilst we often don’t get enough sleep during the working week, most of us make up for it at the weekend. And the truth is that this is not healthy. Instead, we should do more to give ourselves a consistent amount of sleep, spread out over the week.

Many people struggle to sleep – perhaps because of stress or other related health problems. While there are a number of sleep remedies available, this is not always the best option. Updating your bed or mattress to something like a Sealy divan can do wonders for your sleeping habits, and will hopefully rid you of the need to medicate.

Whatever the reason you are not getting enough sleep, addressing this can do wonders for your mental and physical wellbeing. Those with healthy sleeping habits are likely to be happier generally, and perform more effectively at work. So make it a priority to resolve the problem.

I felt a little down today and what else could a girl do but cheer herself up..with shopping! But my solution is less strenuous on the pockets. I pay only for the internet bill. Haha! I surf shopped! This time I searched for some daily jewelry deals to bring on some pretty to my day.

And I stumbled across this site called PoshLocket and I love it! Pretty, elegant, understated fashion jewelry items at affordable prices.  Then I got frustrated coz they ship to very limited international destinations. Sigh. I could just content myself to consigning my choices to my wishlist. But I’m definitely bookmarking this site and buying from them in case I consolidate packages and get a packaging forwarding company for some collective US shopping sometime in the future.

I rarely post on my home and lifestyle category. Hmm, an oversight. And lest you think I live in North Face Tents, I’m posting some pretty modern-contemporary bedroom designs.

Most of us women have an interest in home decor and the task of decorating the home is often left to us. So I’m usually always on the lookout for some home design eye candies.

I’ve been browsing HGTV and got so enamored with some of the bedroom designs. My style always veers towards modern and contemporary but I also steer clear of too minimalistic designs. I want something homey and modern.

love the bed and the headboard with LED lighting is gorgeous! the flooring on this bedroom is also fab. 

nice little details and the color scheme is very easy on the eyes.

contemporary with art deco touches. perfect for those with artistic sensibilities.. love the wallprint!

warm and inviting color scheme. i find the walls a little too busy with artwork though and if its me i would do away with that abstract  painting and the lime green vase.

I’ve been playing around. Actually I was in Wordle.Net making a background word cloud for a blog that I am dressing up. I love this little tool and I ended up adding this blog’s RSS feed (oh, you can subscribe to my feeds to keep updated ) and popped it into the Wordle creator and voila!

I love hanging about in Anthropologie. It’s of my favorite window surf shopping place and for some reason I always get happy. The site as well as its unique items are just so visually pleasing that you always end up happy. I find this shop exuding a very feminine appeal and I’m pretty sure even if you are on best testosterone boosteryou’d still feel the feminine vibe.

Vintage and grungy, contemporary designs appeals so much to me too. And Anthropologie has plenty of goodies to drool on. Here’s just some of pretty finds there currently sitting on my wishlist.

Logogram Earrings – flirty but elegant looking. It’s not within my budget for earrings so its on my wishlist instead. But its just gorgeous!

Just done surf shopping shoes, and now moving on to handbags. You didn’t think I would skip this, did you? Lol. Not me. I love handbags even if I don’t have much moolah to spend on it. It’s one of those things I love to look at, but whenever I do buy, I usually suffer from buyers remorse fast enough. I have that kind of relationship with bags. So I just tend to hop about, shop around online and have a look till my eyes pop out. At least this saves me from actually being totally tempted to buy it.

And if I saw this on a physical store..My!  I would have nil chances of escaping with my wallet unscathed. It’s a beauty and thankfully I just saw this online hahaha. And I buried my cards in under my clothes so I won’t be severely tempted.

I’m talking about the Mezzaluna Satchel. In white and tan and I just loooove white. I know its hard to maintain but white is just LOVE. And the vintage-y design is just a win for me. This is available at J.Crew for about $275.

I miss featuring pretty shoes. So I’m satisfying some ‘window surf’ shopping thirst for shoes this time and came across this OlsenHaus Women’s Mars Pumps available at Amazon.

I’m pretty much ‘conservative’ when it comes to shoe choices and its rare to see a ‘totally statement’ making shoe in my closet. I usually buy sandals, slip ons, pumps in black, neutral shades. But there are times we want something different right? Something outrageous. Something out of ordinary like going for marine speakers instead of the usual one.
