Lately, I’ve become a little obsessed about vignettes — mentally capturing little snapshots in my head and savoring the delightful story woven into each image. One of the newest trends this Spring season: Printed denim! It’s gotten me all excited about what that means — many possibilities and opportunities over at The Curious Canopy. I’m not talking about the acid wash, airbrush kind of decades past. These are vibrant, eclectic and bold patterns wrapping around your shape! Will you be sporting this new trend in the warmer months?

Your eyes are not deceiving you, this is not a macro image of a milk dropplet. In fact, they’re fruit bowls, which an appropriate name for Dropp! Fruit Bowls designed by Niels Römer.

What a fantastic idea to challenge the conventional thinking of what a bowl should look like. I love that each bowl (yes, there are more) vary slightly. Although they are designed to hold fruit or bread, it could see these bowls function as a key-keeper, holding small items, and little knick-knacks. The possibilities are endless!

The other day, I mentioned how much I loved every connection I’ve made in the Twitterverse so far and it’s true! One of these connections is with Super Juicy Chick, which is the alter ego, blog name and Twitter handle for Queenie. I love the whimsical illustrations style that all of the characters Queenie creates as well of her adorable kids. There’s a certain joie de vivre feel to them that makes you smile — from the simple clean rendering to the color palettes — it’s just darling! I’m thrilled to share with you the premiere issue of Retail Minded, a new national trade magazine launched by Nicole Leinbach Reyhle of Retail Minded. Nicole and I have worked together a couple times in the past and she has such great insight into the retail/wholesale industry. Just reading the sneak peek of the magazine is fantastic and I can tell that the rest is equally filled with great content!

If you follow me on Twitter or Google+ or read this little blog, you can get a sense that I like to juggle many things. When asked if this is how I have always like to handle the daily work/life, the answer is always “YES” because I don’t think I know of anything else. Nicole and I have some similarities in our lives in that we both have 2 young kids, juggle the delicate balance of work/life and are both university faculty members as well. When Nicole asked me to share some of my productivity tips and how I find the balance between work, life, family, and friends for the premiere issue of her new boutique lifestyle magazine, I was beyond thrilled and happily shared some of how I balance it all. It’s a little glimpse into my daily life plus rare photo of me with the kidlets (who I affectionately have called on many occasions Little Feterie and Baby Feterie). So, if you haven’t already grab a subscription —  I highly recommend it!
