FGCU is holding free informational workshops on teacher certification in Florida, as well as the Teacher Immersion Program (TIP), and you are cordially invited to attend:

February 23, 5:30-7:00, Location Academic Bldg. 3, Room 124.

March 23, 5:30-7:00, Location Academic Bldg. 3, Room 124.

April 20, 5:30-7:00, Location Academic Bldg. 3, Room 124.

Directions to Academic Bldg. 3: Enter the campus at the main gate (10501 FGCU Blvd. S, Fort Myers, FL 33965) and take a left at the stop sign and an immediate right into the first parking lot. Park and walk east past Academic Bldg. 5. The next building is Academic 3. We hope to see you there!

Free Math Workshops at FGCU!

If you need a math tune-up, please join us on upcoming Fridays for free math workshops. The next workshop series will be in March, 2010, 4:30-6:30, on the following dates: March 12, March 19, and March 26. The location is Ben Hill Griffin Hall, Room 109. Check here frequently for updates and additional information. These workshops are specifically geared toward those who need to pass the Florida Teacher Certification Exam (FTCE) called the General Knowledge Test, the Elementary Ed. K-6 math section, as well as the Middle Grades Math 5-9 exam. We will take you from pre-algebra, through algebra and geometry to be victorious! skohler@fgcu.edu No need to register. The Teacher Immersion Program (TIP), a state-approved program, is magical: It accepts those who only dream of becoming teachers and miraculously turns them into well-qualified, competent teachers. Upon completion of TIP, you are eligible for the Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate. Tuition is grant-funded for qualified applicants. It includes six instructional modules, three graduate courses, an internship, and numerous specialized workshops to fully prepare you for the classroom.
