UFC’s highly anticipated return to Japan was nothing short of successful and delivered one of the most exciting events in UFC history.

UFC 144 which took place on Sunday at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan was a twelve bout event which featured a lightweight title bout between Ben Henderson and Frankie Edgar with Henderson taking the title and defeating Edgar via unanimous decision.

The event also featured a crowd favorite, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Ryan Bader with Rampage drawing the short straw and Bader taking his second win after losing to current champ Jon ‘Bones’ Jones in February 2011.

For the first time in more than ten years, UFC returns to Japan for its high anticipated ‘UFC 144: Edgar vs. Henderson’.

The twelve bout event will take place on Sunday, February 26th at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. It will be highlighted by one of the most anticipated title bouts between lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar defending his title against his number one contender and former WEC lightweight Champion Benson Henderson. The event will also feature a light heavyweight bout between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Ryan Bader.

The feud between Jon Jones and Rashad Evans continues to heat up as the UFC 145 fight night draws closer.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and his number one contender Rashad Evans crossed paths on CSS SportsNite, where things got a little heated. Evans called his former friend and training partner a ‘fake’ while Jones tries to ‘keep it classy’ and claims that there’s ‘nothing personal’ about their upcoming fight.

UFC 145 is scheduled to take place on April 21st at the Philips Arena, Atlanta Georgia with UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones defending his title against Rashad Evans.

UFC has released the main card lineup for the upcoming ‘UFC on FOX 3′ event that will take place on 5th of May at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The event will be highlighted by Nate Diaz and Jim Miller in a five round match that will determine the #1 contender for the lightweight title.

Former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz has failed his UFC 143 post-fight drug screening and tested positive for marijuana.

NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer announced on Thursday, that all the fighters were tested and came out clean except Diaz who tested positive for marijuana metabolites.

“All (UFC 143 drug test) results received thus far have been negative, except Mr. Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites. A complaint for disciplinary action against Mr. Diaz has been filed,”

This is not the first time for the former welterweight champ. In 2007, Diaz tested positive for marijuana following his Pride fight with Takanori Gomi.

Diaz, who recently suffered a disappointing loss to Carlos Condit, is likely to face suspension and fined.

We have the results from the recent UFC event, UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit, an event which took place on Saturday, February 4th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

The event was highlighted by a welterweight bout between Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit. Condit, who replaced Diaz’s contender Georges St-Pierre because of an ACL injury, won the interim title via unanimous decision.

Another highlight of the evening is a heavyweight showdown between Fabricio Werdum and Roy Nelson. Werdum made his triumphant return to the UFC and won against Nelson via unanimous decision.

UFC heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery after allegedly shoving a woman in the face. The said incident took place at the Wynn Casino in Los Angeles on January 2nd, just days after the UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem event.

Overeem, who is yet to comment on the issue, is accused of shoving a woman in the face, which caused her to “stagger back”. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 21, and will be represented by a well-known Las Vegas criminal defense lawyer, attorney David Chesnoff.

If proven guilty, Overeem could face a maximum sentence of six months in a detention center and a maximum of $1,000 fine.
