So let’s all go get beaten up together! Couldn’t be too much worse that a really rough game of rugby? As long as we don’t escalate! Because if we refuse to escalate, all they can do is beat us up! They can’t justify anything else! But let’s not fool ourselves that something valuable like the freedom can ever come cheaply.

Remember the mass of Indian nationalists that Ghandi led to the sea to get salt against the Colonial law and its massed ranks of police enforcers? They got beaten up, but they didn’t care because they were after something more valuable – freedom and nationhood! What are a couple of cuts, bruises or even fractures compared to that? Or worse, what is the temporary damage done to our bodies through blows compared to the lasting damage done to our spirits through cowardice? Especially when our nation and our future now depends upon this generation.
The time for bravery and heroism is at hand people! Fiji needs us to stand up for what is right! The generations to come need us to leave them a legacy of non violent bravery, vision, justice and righteousness! Let’s not shrink from Fiji’s need and leave Graham, Shamima, Laisa and the Unions to carry the flame alone! We may not yet be ready, but Frank has chosen this time to test our mettle!

So the board is set, the pieces are moving. We come to it at last… The great battle of our time!
How will it find us? Fearful? Bloodthirsty? Vengeful? Remember that apartheid South Africa produced much vile and evil suffering! But it also produced Ghandi & Mandela! What will our trials produce in us? If we go through it with God, and conduct ourselves in a Godly way according to his principles, this trial of fire will produce gold in us people!

An apology for my last post

Id like to apologise to everyone who were offended by my last post. My sincere apologies to all of you - after reading it over again, i realised that i was completely out of line and it was inappropriate.

I should have known better than to generalise the lack of action from certain people, because there are people out there (my fellow resistance bloggers) who are doing something about the madness in our country.

I am deeply sorry about this!

However i stiil feel that there is lack of action from people whom we regard as our leaders and i sicerely hope that in time they will realise that alot is expected of them.

This is due to personal committments. I apologise to the very few readers who've stumble upon my page for the last couple of months.

The most important thing is that the resistance is getting bigger by the day now and i salute bloggers like hydenceek and the many others out there for standing up for the people.

terror propaganda - military thugs terrorise Janet Mason

stuff.co.nz in an article called "Fiji thugs terrorise Kiwi lawyer" reported the break-in into GCC lawyer - Janet Mason's home early on wednesday morning. They stole several items including her laptop and left the house like a murder scene with blood everywhere.

There isn't any doubt in my mind that this is the dirty work of thug commander, Bai-Osama-ni-marama, and his bunch of "no brain" major's.

This is clearly a terror campaign to instill fear in the public and anyone who dare speak out aginst these "bastards". They now hold complete control of all institutions that we can turn to for help and it is up to us to fight for the justice that we deserve.

We are now in a very dangerous situation - we're all prisoner's of a bunch of power-hungry self righteous fanatics who believe that they are serving the great good - and most disturbingly, they are willing to sacrifice us for this greater purpose.

They justify the terror they inflict under the laughable Public Emergency Regulations - its laughable because the irony is that there was never any emergency in this country until they overthrew our elected government.

Under these laughable regulations, the military thugs can arrest anybody and use limited force as they see fit. And by limited force, we don't have to look far to understand what they mean - Sakiusa Rabaka was a prime exmaple of how far they are willing to go.

This country was never in any kind of chaos or danger that warranted any kind of intervention from anybody - especially from these nutjob's. We as a people never had to fear for our lives when speaking out against our own government in the past. We had faith in most of our public institutions and we could freely seek justice when necessary. Now, we have nothing and no one but ourselves.

What are we willing to do about this? And how far are we willing to let this continue?

what happened on April 18?

I was reading fijitimes online today and came across Satish Chands's article called "Dollar faces drop in value". I then went on to have a look at the foreign exchange trend betweeen Fiji and 5 major world currencies - the US dollar, Australian dollar, the pound, Yen, and the Euro.

In doing so i noticed an unusual depreciation of the Fiji currency on April the 18th 2007 against all these major currencies - just happened to be on the same day as the EU meeting in Brussels where Fiji made its submission and subsequently followed by consultations and committments by both sides (click here for the outcome of this meeting and the various committments made).

I havent quite put my finger on what exactly caused this sudden depreciation but notice that the currency immidiately rises the next day.

India - stay the f**k away from our politics

The attempt by the Indian goverment to assist the current thug regime is not only pathetic but very disturbing. This is a clear attempt by the snake - Chaudry to consolidate and strengthen the Indian governement's influence in our country which will serve none other than his own long term political aspirations.

The impending financial crisis in the country is playing right into chaudry's hands and can only be a better reason for asking the Indians to come rescue us from the crisis.

Here is how i think all of this is going to play into chaudry's hands. The Indian assistance will of course come with certain conditions that has to be met inorder for the assistance to come through and continue. And since no other right thinking democracy will want to offer any financial assistance to this thug regime - they will have no choice but to comply. Im sure Chaudry has already offered a few suggestions to the Indian government in his recent visit.

Now, these conditions will of course be demands for reforms in our social and political systems - and can be anything from reforms in the Fijian land administration (which chaudry clearly wants abrogated), to the "i qoliqqoli", and the private sector.

Any demand for reforms will of course start at the private sector level- we will be asked to relax our capital accounts to allow for more Indian investment in our country. This is a good thing for us but it will also be the ideal foundation for chaudry's plot - as it will greatlty strengthen Indian dominance in the economy and will be the framework for him to interfere with our political power bases - this primarily lies in our ownership of more than 80% of land in this country (administered in trust by the NLTB).

Yes, whoever owns the land holds power in Fiji and the only way to take power from us is to dissolve the NLTB under the cover of some land reform, which will mean that indigenous owned lands can then be freely traded in the market - which we all know will be the end of our political control in our own country.

Now, this doesnt only endanger our political interests but at the same time a recipe for more unrest and instability in the future. Some of his own people have now realised chaudry's poltical ambitions and have condemned India's reckless decision on fijitimes today. Salim Singh of the Fiji India Association in New Zealand said,

"My personal reaction is that what the Indian government is doing is repugnant to every moral fibre and instinct of my body, in that the current government of Fiji is illegal...It has been formed after the overthrow of a democratically elected government and the Indian government should have resiled from giving any assistance to Fiji at this stage until that country returns to democracy.''

I fully support you Singh, it is unfortunate that the Indian government can be so reckless to listen to the likes of chaudry for advice on the current political situation in Fiji, especially given his part in the thug regime currently in power.

This is my message to the Indian government,

"stay the f**k away from our politics, the best help you can offer us right now is to condemn the thug regime that hold us prisoners in our own country and pressure them to give the government back to the people."

Nawalowalo - should go get a job

This is another political opportunist and the kind of chief that we have to clean up from our system. Ratu Josateki Tuivanuavou Nacagilevu Nawalowalo is a Fijian chief from the province of Kadavu and the chairman of the Kadavu provincial council. He is a failed bussinessman and very unpopular amongst his own people - primarily because of his arrogance and hunger for power. He use to run a Kava exporting business at his previous home in Laucala before it collapsed and was subsequently evicted for failing to keep up with the rent.

He slowly came into public attention after regularly voicing his personal views on various political matters in the media after the 2000 coup.

He use to be a stong supporter of the SDL government of Prime minister Laisenia Qarase and well known for his refusal to let the military teams tour Kadavu to campaign against the government's controversial reconciliation and unity bill, which Nawalowalo strongly supports.

However, in the aftermath of the military takeover of 5/11 Nawalowalo changed his views and threw his support behind the new thug regime - his way of greasing up the balls of the new boss in town. Its amazing the lengths that some people can take to get their arsses into power. This provoked an angry reaction from some of his fellow chiefs, who were reported by Fiji TV on December 9 as instructing him to refrain from making any further public statements without their approval.

Chiefs such as these are a disgrace to the Fijian chiefly system and should be stripped completely of their chiefly title and role in our public affairs - in his case as the chairman of the Kadavu provincial council. They are driven by the love of power and often abuse the office that they hold for personal gains. We, the people often end up getting manipulated and ripped off as a result of these opportunistic scums.

In no way do I mean any disrespect to our Fijian chiefly system, I simply want to expose those elements in the system that are abusing their position and roles. They are not fit to be in these positions and should first establish themselves and their families before trying to provide any type of leadership for the people. Otherwise, we will continue to have the likes of Nawalowalo selling us around for their bread and butter.

shameem intimidate bloggers - my two cents

Fijilive.com reported yesterday, 19th May, that military puppet and Fiji human rights director, shaista Shameem has said "that FHRC will not tolerate any hate speech and that those expressing such speeches under the current cloak of anonymity on blogs should face the full brunt of the law if they are identified." This is nothing but an attempt to scare off loyal and patriotic members of the public attempting to speak out against the thug regime in place and those behind it. Including their minority supporters such as shameem herself. Let me make something very clear for you lady, you have no authority to be calling for actions to be taken against any public bloggers in this country because thanks to you, the organisation which you claim to represent now have a zero credibility amongst the vast majority of citizens in this country. So, give us a break with the leagal threats and go find something useful to do while you have the time to do so. As i have said before, we the people of this country will be out in numbers to put the likes of you away when our next elected government gets into power.

Fijilive.com futher says that "FHRC has also observed the violation of the right to privacy on these blogspots, with personal addresses and telephone numbers of individuals who have been targeted being disseminated publicly, giving rise to concerns about personal and family security of these individuals," Dr Shameem said. Let me clarify something here. Personal addresses and telephone numbers are details you can look up in the white pages and are already publicly available before they even showed up in these blogs. You could simply go to http://www.whitepages.com.fj and do a name search and obtain street addresses with phone numbers of people you're looking for. So, cut the bull crap and like i said above, go find something useful to do because we aint falling for it.

Fijilive.com furthers says that "She said while freedom of expression and speech is protected by the Constitution 'this freedom does not include freedom to express ‘hate speech’ or damage the reputation, dignity, privacy, or rights and freedoms of other individuals." I think what she is trying to say here is that we do not have the right to expose the truth that may hurt some people and under the current thug administration, we will be prosecuted. We understand that defamation is illegal Shameem. But what's being said on these sites can only amount to defamation if they are false and cause a loss to the supposed victim. And with regards to the hate speeech you claim, im pretty sure that the majority of readers who visit these site's will disagree with you. Its something we call resistance and yes it can be brutal sometimes, but nevertheless contains a truth that the overwhelming majority of people in this country stands by - coup and dictatorship is not acceptable and must die. It surprises me that you can be bold enough to lash out agaist bloggers, voicing their opinions on the situation in their beloved country, while the military runs an aggressive intimidating camapaign against the people. Shame on you, woman. Karma is coming, and it won't be sympathetic.

RFC bloggers resurrect into WFC

Dear Friends, below is a response of the newly created "resistfrankscoup blog" (called why Fiji's crying) to the thugs at Nabua for their failed attempt to shut down blogs on the internet.

I must say that i found their actions (the thugs in the military) to be rather naive and stupid. Did they really believe that they could shut down every blog on the internet that's exposing the truth about them? For every blog they close, people will simply jump on to another site and post their blogs there. They will never be able to stop the public in this new realm of communication. Their feeble attempt to do so simply exposes their lack of understanding and knowlege in this area of communication and means that the resistance is getting noticed. And i thank the RFC bloggers and every other Fijian bloggers out there for their part in this movement.

This is my message to Bai, "

you will never be able to shut us down, as long as you and your group of thugs are in power we will continue to expose the truth and lies about you and your people, and remember, the clock is ticking and there is only one fate that awaits you comrade - a death execution. You will have to die for the treasonous crimes and muder you have committed. We the people will see to this "

Who is FMF? FMF does not have our mandate, nor are they democratically elected by the people of Fiji, the 51% shareholders of FINTEL. Our partner in FINTEL is Cable and Wireless and NOT FMF or the junta, so don’t mess with our company and its services to us. O.K, so FMF has admitted that the blogs are mightier than their guns -Good and about time! But we still maintain that FMF and NOT the blogs, are the real threat to national security with their unlawful coup of 5/11. Our livelihood is upside-down, thanks to you FMF. You have brought insurmountable pain, sorrow and hardship to the very people you purport to protect, us the innocent citizens of Fiji. FMF has become the biggest threat to our children and our future but for what? To feed some power hungry, failed politicians and crumbling dynasties? Chaudry - manipulative and deceptive

Here is a political opportunist who will do anything for power. He use to be one of, or should i say, the most stern critic against the coup culture in our country prior to the events that lead to December 5th. What has changed? The simple truth is that he was simply playing victim as he has always done - the reason for his popularity in the Indian community in our country. The fact is that he was the victim of the first two coups in this country (87 and 2000), hence the bitterness and anti-coup stance he has always taken. Well, it is now very clear what his real motives are. He is not genuine, manipulative and very deceptive. We should never let a political shark such as this get his hands on any position of power in our country and must also be brought to justice for his role in the current thug administration.

I have had enough of the lies and drama of this man and will not buy anything from him in the next general election and so shouldn't any right thinking citizen out there. The labour party has now become a family run business for this man and it is clear that he is grooming his son to take over the reins sometime in the future. Can anyone recall that he appointed his son to be his personal secretary when he was prime minister in the 1999 labour led government - a serious case of nepotism and abuse of public office. He wouldn't have to do that if he had nothing to hide and in any case, the Fiji government is not a family business and the fact that he appointed his son to a public position as such is not acceptable.

I for one will not let a corrupt opportunistic man like this to have any hand in the affairs of our government. We have now seen his true intentions and i advice all citizens to beware of him and his family run labour party in the next election. As i have said before, he will also have to be prosecuted for his role in the current thug administration and i trust that we, the people, will be out in numbers to push our next elected government to see this through.

Shameem - send her to prison

This is a person who is using the public position she holds to broadcast her own personal agendas - the gross abuse of public office. She should be fired and sentenced to life in prison for the misleading and biased report she published under the cover of the Fiji Human Rights commission. She holds an office that is suppose to stand up for our rights and freedom against any form of oppression. This is the kind of people that we should clean up from our system.

She is another face of the evil that we have to fight and destroy in this country. I urge every honest and loyal citizen to condemn the actions of this woman and push our next elected government to bring her to justice - life imprisonment. I am tired of having to live through the lies and deception of people that are supposedly there to protect us. I am tired of the betrayal.

Iloilo must go

The failure of this man to discipline Bainimarama for his public criticisms of government policies escalated a preventable situation to the events that lead to December 5th. As commander in chief of the military it was his direct responsibility to keep Bainimarama in line, which he clearly failed to do. Despite the illegality of the December 5th coup, he decided to accept Bainimarama's appointment to be President under the new thug administration. Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi was honourable enough to hand in his resignation and disassociate himself from the thugs.

Here is a medically fragile man holding an important office of power which he clearly cannot serve. With all due respect to him and his people, he is now nothing but a puppet of the thug administration and a burden to the tax paying citizens of our beloved country. It is now due time for the GCC to appoint a new president who can actually serve in this position and stand firmly by the rule of law. Ratu Joni is the ideal candidate for this position.

The face of treason - Bainimarama must die

If we are to thrive and progress as a stable and healthy democracy, then we must ensure that never again will we allow a man like this to throw our democracy down the toilet - an insult and embarrassment to our values and principle as a civilised people. This man will have to eventually answer for his crime - high treason, and death should be its penality. He must never be allowed to get away with this. It is now time that we make a statement to those who believe that they are beyond the reach of the law and can freely interfere with the affairs of our government using positions of strength that we entrust to them . For how long will we allow people such as this to destroy the many years of hardwork and labor that we all have endured to build a country with a promise of a stable and prosperous future?

I for one will not be silent anymore. No amount of reasoning can ever justify the forceful seizure of power from the people's government- this is no different from seizing power directly from the people. Im my young life, i've had the misfortune of having to deal with such abuse of power 4 times in the first 20years of my life. I have now had enough of this and will not be silent anymore. I have lost hope in those who we entrust the future of our country - our future and I am now prepared, with God as my defender, to take my future into my own two hands and shape my own destiny. I only wish if every young Fijian would do the same. I will fight and fight and fight and fight until the day that freedom is restored and every Fijian can look into the future with hope.

The usage of force is now becoming the popular mean of resolving diferences in this country we call home, I often wonder of the type of home we are building for our children. I havent yet got aound the business of making children - for now it still but a scary thought at the back of a mind troubled with what the future has in store for them. We must vow to make this coup the end of all forms of aggression and abuse of power. We must ensure that our children wouldnt have to pick up this uncivilised form of beahviour, we must define the way we want to live our life and make a stand for what we believe to be right and just. It is our responsibility to send out a message that we, the people, will never again tolerate this thuggish and uncivilised form of justice. For this reason, Bainimarama will have to be charged with treason and the death penality re-introduced as the price for his crime. With God on our side, we will elect a government, in the coming election, that will bring this man to jusice and truly give us a future that we can atleast hope to be without coup's. May God give us the strength and wisdom to fight this evil.
