Chandu Borde is a famous all-rounder who represents the Indian national cricket team in 55 Test matches. He was a good middle-order batsman, an excellent fielder and an easy leg spinner. He made his debut against the West Indies in 1958-59. His performance initially was normal and he was dropped for the third test. In the fourth Test he scored 56 runs. The turning point of his career came when he scored 109 and 96 in the fifth and final Test. He played an important role in India's series victory against England in 1961-62, in which two half-centuries were deposited and took 3 wickets in the fourth Test of India's victory in Kolkata. He had taken five wickets in Madras, which India also won. In the second Test of the 1964-65 series against Australia in Mumbai, he scored a vital 30 in 30 in number one in 30 of India. He made two centuries in three Tests against the West Indies in 1966-67. In March, 1967, he was the only Indian to play against Barbados for the 12th position of the world. He was the recipient of Arjuna Award, Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award. He also worked as the chairman of the National Selection Committee and the manager of the Indian cricket team.

Vijay Merchant was a famous Indian cricketer who played in 10 Test matches for India. He was a right-handed batsman and an occasional right-handed middle-order bowler who had played all 10 Test matches against England.
